Alexander Petrov is a young actor who recently found himself on a film set, but has already become a bright star of Russian cinema.
In just a few years, he played more than forty different roles in TV series and films - “While the Fern Blooms,” “Petrovich,” “The Habit of Parting,” “Embracing the Sky” and many others. Petrov also turned out to be a magnificent theater actor. One of the producers who worked with him even compared him to such giants as Smoktunovsky, Mironov, Kaidanovsky and Oleg Borisov.
Biography
The future artist was born in the winter of 1989 in the town of Pereslavl-Zalessky near Yaroslavl.

There were no actors in the family, and as a child he himself did not dream of a film set or stage: his favorite pastime was playing football. When the boy turned nine, he joined the football section and by the age of fifteen he was so successful in this sport that the coach invited him to go to Moscow and continue training there.
The parents were delighted by this prospect and agreed. All that remained was to settle some formalities and complete summer work practice at school. It was during this practice that a big trouble happened: Sasha received a serious injury, which made him forget about his sports career forever.
After graduating from school, the young man entered the economics department of a local university.

In his first year, he became interested in KVN, and then ended up in the student theater-studio “Entreprise”. At the festival of amateur theaters in the Samara region, where the young artist went with the studio, he met the teachers of GITIS - in particular, the famous Leonid Kheifets, who advised the young man to engage in theater professionally. There was no need to persuade Alexander, because by that time he had already realized that acting was his destiny.

Filmography
Although Petrov was not prone to impulsive actions, in 2008 he nevertheless left the Faculty of Economics and immediately entered GITIS under Professor Heifetz. True, at that time Leonid Efimovich was taking not an acting course, but a directing course, but this did not prevent Alexander from subsequently establishing himself as an actor.

Already in his second year, the promising student played in a movie for the first time. So far, this was only a small episode in the television series “Voices,” but it became a successful start for Alexander.

Since 2012, he began to act more and more often. The career took shape somehow by itself. The directors were captivated by the young artist’s ability to transform himself: today he could play a cruel soldier, and tomorrow a charming lover.
At the age of 23, Petrov played in the film “August the Eighth,” which was directed by Dzhanik Fayziev, who had previously released “The Turkish Gambit,” which was well known to viewers.
During the same period, the increasingly popular actor was offered the main role in the serial mystical film “While the Fern Blooms.”
The audience really loved this series, and the whole country started talking about the new star.
After graduating from GITIS, Alexander became famous as a theater actor. Noticing a spark in him, luminary of performing arts Alexander Kalyagin invited him to the troupe of the Et Cetera theater. There, Petrov played one of the leading roles in the production of “Shylock” based on Shakespeare’s “The Merchant of Venice.” The performance was staged by the legendary director Robert Sturua. In 2013, the actor moved to the Ermolova Theater under the direction of Oleg Menshikov, where he played “Hamlet” in the production of the same name by Valery Sarkisov.

Alexander also has the role of Lopakhin in “The Cherry Orchard” by Vladimir Mirzoev and the play “Ruins” by Kirill Vytoptov.

2013 turned out to be an extremely fruitful year for the actor. In addition to the theater, he starred in nine films and TV series, and two of the nine roles were the main ones. Sasha played in the comedies “Yolki-3” and “Love in the City-3”.

The film “Embracing the Sky,” directed by Milena Fadeeva, turned out to be very successful, and Sasha got the role of Ivan Kotov, a pilot with a difficult fate.
Viewers also highly appreciated his work in the serial film “Without the Right to Choose” about the life of the Soviet soldier-saboteur Kasym Kaysenov during the war with Nazi Germany.

In 2014, Sasha did not have many new projects, but even then he shined - now in the role of the merchant Kryukov in the film “Fort Ross: In Search of Adventure” based on the book by Dmitry Poletaev.
And in 2015, Petrov was again in great demand and played in seven films - for example, “Happiness is”, the TV series “Farza” and “Method”, and the film “The Elusive: The Last Hero”.

And a year later, in 2016, the series “Policeman from Rublyovka” was released, where Sasha appeared in the image of a cynical law enforcement officer guarding the dishonest rich.
At the same time, the artist was invited to participate in the show “Dancing with the Stars,” where he performed together with the charming Anastasia Antelava.

By the way, in the last film Petrov played together with his future lover Irina Starshenbaum. But Sasha’s most interesting and profound acting work in 2017 was his role in E. Baranov’s film “Gogol. Start". The young actor played Gogol himself and, despite his young age, coped with the role brilliantly.
At the beginning of 2018, viewers saw the melodrama “Ice,” in which Sasha played a hockey player, his namesake, and the fantastic television series “Belovodye. The Secret of the Lost Country,” where the young actor got the role of no less than the savior of the worlds.

In 2020, the film “Text” thundered throughout the country. One way or another, Alexander Petrov has been involved in all large-scale projects in recent years.
The roles of the “Russian Brad Pitt” (that’s what fans of the handsome young artist called him) can be listed for a long time. The main thing that distinguishes him from most of his young colleagues is his wide acting range and ability to play heroes with sometimes diametrically opposed characters.
In this program, Petrov answers Sobchak’s tricky questions about his career and personal life:
Beginning of an actor's career
Theatrical tours with Entreprise made a significant contribution to his future career. During them, Sasha met GITIS teachers, went to various master classes and 100% decided for himself what his plans for the future were.
In 2008, Alexander managed to enter GITIS the first time, although there was a very big competition. But he entered the directing department, not the acting department. Dreams began to come true - the young guy moved to the capital.
The first role in the series was not far off. While studying in his 2nd year, he was offered a small role as a parkour artist. A couple of years later, he had a chance to deal with director Janik Fayziev during the filming of “August. Eighth."
At the same time, the actor was even more lucky when he was offered the main role in the fantastic film “While the Fern Blooms.” The audience really liked the series and the actor’s performance.
After this, the talented artist’s career quickly began to go up: he made acquaintances with famous artists, the number of fans constantly increased, and the number of roles became more and more numerous.
After graduating, Sasha managed to try himself in the theater. Noticing the fire in his eyes and zeal, Alexander Kalyagin drew attention to the young man and invited him to join the theater troupe.
A little later, the actor played the main role in Oleg Menshikov’s play “Hamlet”. At that time, viewers and critics repeatedly emphasized that Petrov felt his hero as much as possible and that each of his roles was easy for him. Not every young artist could devote himself so much to his work.
It is also worth mentioning that he starred in “Love in the City 3” and “Christmas Trees 3.” During filming, he managed to meet Svetlakov and Urgant. But he got his most famous roles in the drama series “Hugging the Sky,” where he starred with Lyubov Aksenova.
Personal life
Of course, the artist’s fans are interested in his personal life. Alexander can easily be set as an example to other stars, because he has never been known for his debauchery. Many even called him a monogamous man, since for ten long years he dated Daria Emelyanova, whom he had known since school.

Alexander himself prefers not to be frank with journalists.
Irina Starshenbaum
After breaking up with Daria, Alexander began dating actress Irina Starshenbaum, with whom he worked on the film “Attraction.”
For some time, Sasha and Ira tried not to advertise their relationship, but true love is difficult to hide; for a long time, the young actors were considered one of the most beautiful star couples in Russia.
For several years there was talk about their supposedly upcoming wedding, but the guys themselves did not say anything about it. Yes, this is not so important. The main thing is that the actors were really crazy about each other. To be convinced of this, just look at Sasha’s Instagram page, read his poems and see his and Ira’s shining eyes in joint photos.

Stasya Miloslavskaya
In the summer of 2020, at the Sochi Film Festival, Sasha was seen together with his colleague in the Skvortsov project, Stasya Miloslavskaya. As it turned out, Sasha and Irina broke up unnoticed by everyone - without offense or loud confessions in the press.
For a long time, Petrov and Miloslavskaya did not advertise their relationship. Their first public appearance as a couple took place in November at the OK! "More than the stars."
In winter, Stasya posted their first photo together on Instagram, and Sasha wrote in response, “I love you!”
They spent the New Year holidays together in Thailand, from where they also shared photos together.
