Biography
Alexey Nesterenko studied at a school with in-depth study of music and choreography. From the age of six he studied dancing in the children's folk ensemble "Kalinka". Since 1999, he went to the Young Actor's Musical Theater and at the same time took part in performances of the Moscow Art Theater. Chekhov.
Alexey recalls: “Fate brought me into the acting profession. I didn't intend to be an actor, but that's how it turned out. Yes, I danced professionally as a child. But due to my height, I mostly got to dance, where they act more than actually dance. And the artistic director of the ensemble where I danced even asked if I was going to enter the theater school.
I tried my hand at children's musical theater and also on the stage of the Moscow Art Theater... There, in the performance, I didn’t even have to do anything, just stand on the stage and look into the auditorium. But my knees were shaking, although since childhood I knew what large halls were...
But I was hooked by the feeling after the performance - I walked along the long, rounded corridors of the Moscow Art Theater and realized that I was not walking, but swimming, like a fish in water. That's all. There is a certain mystical component in the theater that draws you in and never lets go.”
It is not surprising that after the 11th grade the young man managed to enter VTU. B.V. Shchukin (course of M. Borisov).
From 2005 to 2006, Alexey Nesterenko, as a ballet dancer, served in the twice Red Banner Song and Dance Ensemble of the Russian Army. A.V. Alexandrova.
Personal life
The actor is currently not married, but with his attractive appearance, it is very easy to find a new passion. Articles regarding his relationships with other women have appeared in the media more than once. We can say with confidence that actor Alexei Nesterenko will have a wife in the near future and his personal life will turn out very well.
Alexey Nesterenko is fond of chess
He is proud that in 2014 he became part of the most grandiose event in Russia. At that time, the Olympic Games were held in Sochi, and he took part in a theatrical production. In general, for him it was the best moment in his life.
Theater
While studying acting at Pike, Nesterenko collaborated with the theater. E. Vakhtangov. And since 2006 he has been working for Roman Viktyuk.
"Maids"
Viewers consider the play “The Maids” to be the most striking production, where Alexey appears in the shocking image of a cutesy, languid, spoiled woman, Madame. The actor captivates not with his transformation into a lady, but with his amazing, bewitching plasticity.
Alexey Nesterenko says: “The fact is that I came to the Viktyuk Theater after the army. More precisely, at first there was college, but after college I immediately joined the army. After the army, I had no intention of returning to the profession, I thought that I needed to get a second higher education and do something serious. I didn’t go on stage for a year, and it left some imprint. It was very difficult for me...
I wasn’t afraid to work, and I wasn’t afraid of what they say about Roman Grigorievich, that he’s evil and dashing. I wasn't afraid because I didn't know him. That is, I came to the Roman Viktyuk Theater and did not know anything about Viktyuk, except that he was a well-known person in theatrical circles who went down in history and changed the theater of the 20th century. We just started working. I came to the theater and showed myself.
And Viktyuk, apparently at that moment, was just looking for an actor to play the role of Madame. The stars just aligned. Two actors were assigned to the roles of Claire and Solange - these are Dima Bozin and Dima Zhoydik, and then the puzzle did not work out for him. I showed up - and now, apparently, the puzzle had worked out for him, he found what he was looking for. He offered me the role - naturally, I agreed. I worked on a contract for two years, now I work as a full-time employee...
I don’t know how it is for the audience, for me Madame is a capricious woman who behaves as she wants. In everything... And not only on stage. Even when we apply makeup! Indeed, she expresses herself as she is comfortable and comfortable.
“The Maids” is, in general, a complete mysticism. It’s unclear, impossible to explain... The performance lives its own life, it’s hard to subordinate it, despite the fact that there is a system according to which the actors work, there are some patterns and rules by which they need to work. But these rules do not apply to the “Handmaids”! Madame, for example, can live her life - today she wants it to be like this, so it will be like this. And you won't do anything with her. This is some kind of sacrament.
"The Handmaids" is not just a theatrical ritual. This is a mystical story, not entirely fully understood, and you need to be very careful in it. I take my Madame in “The Maids” very seriously - with respect and complete dedication. On the day when we play “The Handmaids”, I try to do nothing and communicate less - I accumulate energy in myself. That is, in real life I do everything so that in the evening, playing Madame, I am completely responsible for what happens to me on stage.”
Alexey also has experience collaborating with the dance theater “A|CH”, where he was involved in the choreographic performance “CARMEN”.

An excerpt characterizing Nesterenko, Alexey Gennadievich
- No. She lives where neither you nor I can go. Her earthly life here with us is over, and she now lives in another, very beautiful world, from which she can watch you. But she sees how you suffer and cannot leave here. And she can’t stay here any longer either. That's why she needs your help. Would you like to help her? - How do you know all this? Why is she talking to you?!. I felt that she still didn’t believe me and didn’t want to recognize me as a friend. And I couldn’t figure out how to explain to this little, ruffled, unhappy girl that there was an “other”, distant world, from which, unfortunately, there was no return here. And that her beloved mother speaks to me not because she has a choice, but because I was simply “lucky” to be a little “different” than everyone else... “All people are different, Alinushka,” I began. – Some have a talent for drawing, others for singing, but I have such a special talent for talking with those who have left our world forever. And your mother speaks to me not at all because she likes me, but because I heard her when no one else could hear her. And I am very glad that I can help her in at least something. She loves you very much and suffers very much because she had to leave... It hurts her very much to leave you, but it is not her choice. Do you remember she was seriously ill for a long time? – the girl nodded. “It was this illness that forced her to leave you.” And now she must go to her new world in which she will live. And for this she must be sure that you know how much she loves you. The girl looked at me sadly and quietly asked: “Does she live with the angels now?.. Dad told me that she now lives in a place where everything is like on the cards they give me for Christmas.” And there are such beautiful winged angels... Why didn’t she take me with her?.. - Because you have to live your life here, dear, and then you will also go to the same world where your mother is now. The girl beamed. “So I’ll see her there?” – she babbled joyfully. - Of course, Alinushka. So you should just be a patient girl and help your mom now if you love her so much. - What should I do? – the little girl asked very seriously. – Just think about her and remember her, because she sees you. And if you don't be sad, your mother will finally find peace. “Does she see me now?” the girl asked and her lips began to twitch treacherously. - Yes Dear. She was silent for a moment, as if gathering herself inside, and then tightly clenched her fists and quietly whispered: “I will be very good, dear mommy... you go... please go... I love you so much!..” Tears rolled down her face like big peas. pale cheeks, but her face was very serious and concentrated... Life was dealing her a cruel blow for the first time and it seemed as if this little, so deeply wounded girl had suddenly realized something for herself in a completely adult way and was now trying to accept it seriously and openly . My heart was breaking with pity for these two unfortunate and such sweet creatures, but, unfortunately, I couldn’t help them anymore... The world around them was so incredibly bright and beautiful, but for both it could no longer be their common world... Life can be very cruel sometimes, and we never know what the meaning of pain or loss is in store for us. Apparently, it is true that without losses it is impossible to comprehend what fate gives us, by right or by luck. But what could this unfortunate girl, cowering like a wounded animal, comprehend when the world suddenly fell upon her with all its cruelty and the pain of the most terrible loss in her life?.. I sat with them for a long time and tried as best I could to help for both of them to find at least some peace of mind. I remembered my grandfather and the terrible pain that his death brought me... How scary it must have been for this fragile, unprotected baby to lose the most precious thing in the world - her mother?.. We never think about the fact that those whom For one reason or another, fate takes away from us; we experience the consequences of our death much deeper than we do. We feel the pain of loss and suffer (sometimes even angry) that they left us so mercilessly. But what does it feel like for them when their suffering multiplies thousands of times, seeing how we suffer from this?! And how helpless should a person feel, not being able to say anything more and change anything?.. I would give a lot back then to find at least some opportunity to warn people about this. But, unfortunately, I didn’t have such an opportunity... Therefore, after Veronica’s sad visit, I began to look forward to when I could help someone else. And life, as always usually happened, did not take long to wait. Entities came to me day and night, young and old, male and female, and everyone asked me to help them speak with their daughter, son, husband, wife, father, mother, sister... This continued in an endless stream, until, in the end, I I felt that I had no more strength. I didn’t know that when coming into contact with them, I had to be sure to close myself with my (and very strong!) defense, and not open up emotionally, like a waterfall, gradually giving them all my life force, which was then still Unfortunately, I didn’t know how to make up for it.
Cinema
Alexey Nesterenko made his film debut in 2002, playing Ilgiz in the TV series “Main Roles”.
"You can't catch us"
The actor received his first serious role in his fourth year at the institute. In the film “You Can’t Catch Us,” he played a young American of Russian origin.
Alexey explains: “This is a very interesting story about how I got my first role. One day, an acting assistant came to us at the Shchukin School for a plastic evening. This was back in my fourth year, in 2005. He watched the performance and filmed me. And disappeared. Almost six months later, they handed me the script “You Can’t Catch Us” and asked me to read it... I was wildly delighted. I read it in one sitting, avidly. Such rhythm, dynamics, it was simply impossible to tear yourself away.
Then we met with director Ilya Shilovsky. We talked about my role as a young American. I had long hair then, and he really liked it. He really asked them not to cut their hair... From the very first meeting we had a wonderful relationship. We hugged goodbye and decided that we would work together. And then everything dragged on. The project still didn’t start... I graduated from college on June 9, and on June 22 I was already in the army. The hair, as you understand, had to be cut off completely. When Ilya called me next time, I was already serving in the Academic Song and Dance Ensemble of the Internal Troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. He said the film was starting. To which I replied that, unfortunately, probably nothing would work out with me. Firstly, the army, and secondly, the hairstyle is a different image...
But Ilya turned out to be a very stubborn person. He came to my unit, took a photograph of me, and, despite the fact that I had become somewhat different, he still decided that I should play Wayne. I know he had a really hard time getting me cast as Wayne. First with the producers... Then he wrote a mountain of letters and met with his superiors. And in the end I achieved that I was allowed to act in films in parallel with my military service. And for two and a half months I served and acted at the same time. But I must pay tribute to my army superiors, they treated this situation with great understanding.”
The actor says about the plot of this romantic thriller and his role: “This is a film about human destiny, life. About the fact that sometimes it is enough to make one mistake, and then nothing can be corrected. About the fact that every person strives for love, happiness, for his goal, but not everyone succeeds.
The film has a very twisted plot, events in it develop in a new circle almost every five minutes. Many people can say that this does not happen in life. This doesn’t happen in life, but we tried to play our heroes in such a way that through the prism of their actions we could look at our lives from the outside, standing back a little. The film must be watched from the first minute in order not to lose the logical thread. Now it seems to me that I would have played better if the director had started filming the film again, but, in any case, I think that this first leading role will become my favorite, like my first love...
When the director and I discussed my role, we agreed that Wayne is a young modern man from Russia, a creative person, in general, a lot in common with me, Alexei Nesterenko. And it would be possible to play almost myself in the proposed circumstances, but I tried to avoid this. An actor, in my opinion, is a profession where you go out and play another person, no matter how similar he may be to you. That's why I tried not to be myself. I hope I succeeded. And when I watched the finished film, I didn’t see myself either in the actions or thoughts of my hero.
Playing this character was incredibly interesting. Wayne is a mixed bag. On the one hand, he is a “prince on a white horse”, a kind of boy from the cover of glossy magazines - the dream of every girl. But on the other hand, he was almost a lap dog, for whom everything was always decided. First the father, and then his future bride Sherry. It sometimes seems that his life is planned out for many years. But suddenly a meeting with a Russian girl, Olga, instantly changes his life, turning it from a clear schedule into complete chaos, and his hour of testing his loyalty, decency, and kindness comes.”
In 2008, Vitaly Pavlov’s television series “Galina” was released, telling about the difficult fate of Galina Brezhneva. It is based on the facts of the real life of the daughter of the Soviet General Secretary. Alexey Nesterenko played the role of Boris Buryatse, the lover of the main character.
"Taste of Pomegranate"
The actor became widely famous after playing the leading role in the TV series “The Taste of Pomegranate,” in which he played Maqsood, a student from a distant eastern country.
This is a kind of fairy tale about the Soviet Cinderella with elements of adventure and detective fiction. The film takes place against the backdrop of Russian and Arab life - in Kostroma, Moscow, as well as in the small Muslim country of Janzur, which appeared on the world map exclusively during the filming of the series.
The main character Asya Rybakova (Natalya Nikolaeva), who grew up in an orphanage, faces passionate love and betrayal, meetings with Arab sheikhs and Soviet diplomats, long journeys and imprisonment, betrayal, persecution, torture, the kidnapping of her son...
Plot: Maksud studies in Moscow. He is a childhood friend of Sheikh Janzur’s nephew, Umar. Walking around the capital, Maksud meets Andrei Kunitsyn, the son of a Foreign Ministry employee, and they soon become good friends. Maksud introduces Andrey to his classmate Asya Rybakova, a charming young lady from Kostroma. Young people fall in love with each other.
The film has a lot of colorful footage and exotic scenes: mysterious oriental landscapes, minarets, exquisite interiors, palace luxury. And these are real medieval palaces! Filming took place on the border with Syria, in the ancient Turkish city of Mardin.
An international team of actors from various countries (Russians, Ukrainians, Latvians, Kazakhs, Belarusians) gathered on the site: Alexey Anishchenko, Regimantas Adomaitis, Ivar Kalnins, Alexey Sheinin, Armine Vardanyan, Yuri Tsurilo, Muhammadali Makhmadov, Natalya Khorokhorina, Victor Terelya.
Among other notable works of Alexey Nesterenko: Ian in the film “Gypsy Happiness”, Lajos in the melodrama “If You Are Not with Me”, Pablo Gallardo, a flamenco dancer in the crime film “I Believe I Don’t Believe”, Onegin Gadzhikasimov in the biographical musical film “These Eyes Opposite” ", Qatari prince Zakir Ibn Arfat in the detective story "Homeland".
"Princess from the North"
Alexey played the main role in the series “Princess from the North”, where his partner was actress Polina Maksimova.
The four-part melodrama tells the story of a girl, Vika Vasilyeva (Polina Maksimova), who studies at one of the most prestigious universities in the capital. She studies the history and culture of the country of Ajahar, where she meets Maksud (Alexei Nesterenko), the heir to an oil empire. Maksud is engaged and his wedding is due to take place soon. But he cannot forget the prediction that was made to him as a child. The fortune teller promised him a meeting with a blond girl from a distant northern country. Seeing Vika, Maksud loses his head; he realizes that he has met his fate.
The series also starred: Roman Kurtsyn, Dmitry Maryanov, Pavel Maikov, Vasily Shemyakinsky.
Creation
Despite the high ratings that actor Alexey Nesterenko receives, the directors note that the brightest things are only ahead of him. Those who have worked with Alexey especially often say that the actor’s real capabilities have not yet been revealed and he needs to work. At least, we have already seen him in the theater in productions of “The Antiquarian of Venice”, we saw him in the production of “Salome”, and these are really difficult works that squeeze absolutely all the juice out of an actor. But for Nesterenko this is just a new stage in his career, which he is overcoming. He is currently working on the set of several Russian-produced films that will be released at the end of 2020.
Alexey Nesterenko in the film “You Can’t Catch Us”
Let us note the roles in films, which, what is especially interesting, are simply diametrically opposed to what Alexey plays in the theater. Here we see him in the film “You Can’t Catch Us,” in the television series “The Taste of Pomegranate” and other similar works.
Works of this profile bring enormous pleasure to the actor, who reveals himself in a new way. Difficulties arise during filming, of course, but Alexey solves everything with ease.
Alexey Nesterenko on the set of the film “The Taste of Pomegranate”
The only drawback of actor Alexei Nesterenko, many believe, is that he hides his personal life, and the fact whether he has a wife is not confirmed. By and large, he does this not in vain, since a certain atmosphere of an eligible bachelor is created around him, which attracts attention. Subsequently, articles appeared in the media about his relationships with various models. Alexey himself does not comment on this matter at all.
Alexey Nesterenko in the film “Gypsy Happiness”
Alexey, as he himself noted in an interview, loves to play sharp, sometimes unrestrained characters who are ready to set goals and achieve them not in years, but by the next morning. In principle, this may be echoes of Alexei’s real character, who is completely different from a whipping boy. We are definitely facing a new type of actor who is truly active and ready to create a role from scratch.
Before us is a man who easily reveals images, who easily adds something of his own and really allows the character to live. This is a very valuable shot, which will continue to receive a lot of attention, there is no doubt that Alexey Nesterenko has very complex, but also very bright projects ahead.
Interview
About cinema and theater:
“I think for now the theater is closer to me. But cinema is also very interesting. Theater is the present, it is here and now, theater does not depend on whether you feel bad or good, whether you are happy or sad, whether your pet died or was born. You have to go out and work, the viewer is not interested in what happened, he doesn’t want to know, he paid the money and came to watch you, the performance, the director. He gets his share of pleasure and happiness.
Cinema is a director’s thing, but theater and performance are the co-creation of an actor and a director, and in the theater there is more sensation. But we can’t say that some things are easier and some things are more difficult. In general, I believe that work should not be easy. Everything that comes easy is not real. Just as it was easy, it will go away just as easily. You always need to prove that you can and that you are worthy. And at the same time respect yourself, those around you and everything that happens around you...
This is a very powerful thing - first you pump up the gym, and then the gym pumps you up. How much you give is how much you will receive in return. There is an expression: “to catch the audience,” if you ever experience this feeling, you will need it constantly, like a drug. I think I had this happen. This is a very serious thing...
If the person sitting in the room doesn’t like what you’re doing, it means there’s no contact. Why did you even go on stage then, for what? What are you working for? For these people, they came to look at you, at the work created with your participation, they want to know the story, and you must establish contact with them. Otherwise, what is the point of all this?
I am very sensitive to the audience. I always look at them before the performance. They say to me: “Lesha, the audience can see you!” And I answer: “God bless him, I want to look at them.” I want to look at the audience! What problems? Yes, they see me, I’ll be working now, let them look. And I look: they are smiling, waiting. I love finding common ground. I am charged with more energy than the audience: I give one to them, and they give everything to me!
I don’t use skills at all in my life, I don’t play. It seems to me that if you start playing in life, then you can get lost as a person, you can get erased, simply forget where you are and where you are not. Schizophrenia will set in, you will get sick, and your cuckoo will move away. I approach acting exclusively from a professional point of view: there are performances, there is theater, there is cinema, there is creativity, and there is life. A fine line…
You get a profession after graduating from college, and this is a very interesting education, psychological - you begin to communicate with people in a different way, naturally, you always spy on them, remember how people move, how they speak. This accumulates something that can be useful for creating a new theatrical image. But again, I’m not doing my image, but the character’s image. Therefore, in life I am an ordinary person. And I work on stage. And I enjoy it.
At the theater university, each of us was taught that you are a bright individual, that there is nothing like you, you are one of a kind. In the army, everything is different. After finishing my army service, I was kind of lost in space. I was silent, I just looked at people, at their behavior. And then Viktyuk appeared. At that moment, he simply pulled me out of the swamp, from a state of complete confusion. I got the role of Madame in his cult play “The Maids” and since then I have been working at the Viktyuk Theater.
I took everything I could from Viktyuk and even a little more. But life doesn’t stand still - I’m working on other projects. I say that I am a free horse and I really like it. I can happily work on someone else’s ranch if the conditions are suitable and mutually beneficial. I don’t like it when they harness it, only out of love, out of common interests.”
About beauty and dance:
“I believe that outer beauty reflects inner beauty. I really like this Greek theory. I have a drop of Greek blood in me, and I feel it, it pleases me. That's why I believe in it. They don’t just say that you can watch how a person moves in a dance and roughly understand what he is like in sex. These are not my words, I just heard it all and repeat it. This is a degree of some kind of emancipation. In general, mastery of the body, it seems to me, is a huge power.
If you control your body, you even fall differently on the street. I consider myself lucky - thanks to my mother for sending me to a dance school, and thanks, now I don’t know who, that I didn’t continue dancing. That is, I danced as much as necessary and stopped.”

Movies
The first appearances in the cinema of Alexey Nesterenko can be called secondary. The actor played not the most important characters in the drama “The Kukotsky Case” and the series “Main Roles”. But the youth thriller “You Can’t Catch Us” gained significance in the actor’s development as a professional. Alexey starred in this film while serving in the army. Also important works for the actor’s creative biography were the melodramas “The Taste of Pomegranate” and “Gypsy Happiness,” thanks to which the artist learned what it was like to be the main character on the set.
Alexey Nesterenko in the series “The Taste of Pomegranate”
The film with Nesterenko’s participation was a great success - the love melodrama “Princess from the North”, where Polina Maksimova became the artist’s partner on the work site. Alexey Nesterenko appeared on the screen in the role of the eastern prince Maksud, who meets a student from Moscow Vika and falls in love with the girl.
In the biographical film-musical about the singer Valery Obodzinsky, “These Eyes Opposite,” Alexey reincarnated as Onegin Gadzhikasimov, a Soviet songwriter who, in adulthood, took monastic vows and became a monk of the Optina Hermitage. The girl in love with the poet was played by an actress of Latvian origin, Eugenia Kregzhde.
Alexey Nesterenko in the series “These Eyes Opposite”
The love for creative experiments did not allow the artist to abandon Anna Ovanesova’s short film “Dissociation”, where Alexey got the main role. The actor played a photographer whose dreams begin to intertwine with reality. In the crime film “I Believe Not” with Maria Kozhevnikova in the title role, the artist again got an exotic image - a flamenco dancer.
In 2014, Pavel Lungin began work on the detective thriller “Motherland,” which told the story of a former military man who arrived from Arab captivity. The goal of the FSB special department is to understand whether Alexey Bragin was recruited by terrorists or not. The leading roles of the film were Vladimir Mashkov and Victoria Isakova. Alexey Nesterenko reincarnated as the Qatari prince Zakir Ibn Arfat.
Alexey Nesterenko in the film “Dissociation”
The film's popularity was ensured by its exciting plot, director's work, and star cast. Among the performers there were practically no unknown artists. Sergey Makovetsky, Maria Mironova, Vladimir Vdovichenkov, Andrey Merzlikin, Timofey Tribuntsev, Alisa Khazanova showed talented performances.
