Every graduate of the Nadezhda detachment fondly remembers the years spent there, which occupy a special place in a person’s biography. The teacher of this detachment, Efim Borisovich Steinberg, prepared Alexei Yanin to enter the theater school, where he himself was never able to enter at one time.
Having submitted documents to all theater universities in the capital, Yanin only fails to get into the Moscow Art Theater, but other universities accept him.

Faced with a choice between many prestigious institutions, such as VGIK, GITIS, Institute named after. Shchepkina, Alexey stops at the latter. There he enrolls in the course of teacher Viktor Korshunov, who was recommended by Efim Steinberg.

Having graduated from the Shchepkinsky Institute with honors in 2004, the talented artist with an athletic figure and a height of 180 cm was invited to several theaters at once. Of all the proposed options, he chooses RAMT, since at the final stage of his studies he was already involved in working in this theater as the leading actor in the play “Lord of the Flies” directed by Alexander Ogarev.

The premiere took place in 2005, and the production became part of the theater's repertoire. At the same time, the young actor offers his candidacy for another leading role in the play “Yin and Yang” and receives the approval of the artistic director.
Later, Yanin played the role of a prince in the play “Cinderella” and, as if paying tribute to his mathematical past, the role of a scientist in the play “Shadow”. Actor Alexey Yanin came to his senses after a year and a half spent in an unconscious state. He is young, he is only 33 years old, but in May 2015 he suffered a severe stroke. His condition was so bad that doctors put him in an induced coma. A year later, he emerged from a coma, but did not fully regain consciousness. This state - between coma and consciousness - is called vegetative. Yanin’s relatives claim that Alexey remembers everything that happened to him during his illness. But experts were skeptical about this.
“Coma is characterized by a lack of consciousness,” says neurologist Mikhail Moiseev. - This is a state of wakelessness and non-reaction. The patient lies with his eyes closed, he cannot be awakened, he is not aware of either the world around him or himself.
At the same time, according to him, the duration of a natural coma (when a person falls into it himself) rarely exceeds one month. After this, the patient either wakes up from the coma or dies. An artificial coma (as was the case with Alexei Yanin) can last a long time, the duration depends on whether the hospital has the necessary equipment.
“The vegetative state (or “waking unconsciousness”) is distinguished from coma by the possibility of spontaneous activity and opening of the eyes in response to external stimulation,” says the neurologist.
However, even in this state, according to the doctor, Yanin could hardly remember everything that happened to him.
“In a vegetative state, patients may be awake, but they are not aware of themselves or the world around them,” he said. — The vegetative state is called the ability to live like a biological organism, excluding intellectual activity and social communication.
According to him, there are known cases when, in a vegetative state, patients began to open their eyes and moan if they felt pain, they blinked in response to a threat, made movements with their eyes, following a moving object. At the same time, no significant reaction was recorded in response to the speech addressed to them.
“That is, that person, when he was in a vegetative state, could hear everything, but did not understand anything and, accordingly, could not remember it,” says the neurologist. “He’s lucky he came to his senses.” It is still difficult to make predictions: coma after a stroke usually has serious consequences. Among them are complete or partial paralysis, brain dysfunction, speech defects, and problems with the cardiovascular system.

On May 13, on the Instagram page of singer Nyusha, a family friend, a message appeared that Yanin had fallen into a coma, but this statement was later clarified by doctors, telling reporters that the actor was deliberately put into an artificial coma. Doctors told reporters that the actor’s condition could not be called a coma; Alexey was in a vegetative state, in which he reacted to external stimuli, but could not remember what was happening.
Alexey remained in this state for a long time. He needed an operation to seal the skull, but the inflammation found on the old sutures did not allow this to be done. The actor took rehabilitation courses in one of the German clinics.

For some time, Alexey Yanin’s health condition remained unchanged. He felt touches, but his brain did not assimilate the incoming information. It is worth noting that the situation changed in 2018, when experts noticed significant improvements. Today, the artist moves his right hand freely, can speak clearly, and can also stand on the vertical stand independently.
