Childhood and adolescence

Arman Ilyubaevich Davletyarov was born on August 13, 1970 in the village of Tamar-Utkul in the Orenburg region of Russia. His parents are Kazakhs by nationality. According to Arman’s recollections, a friendly and friendly atmosphere reigned in the family. Davletyarov also has an older brother. When Arman graduated from eight-year school in his village, he and his older brother set off to conquer Moscow.

Davletyarov Arman Ilyubaevich in his youth

The guys' dream was to receive a legal education. But in those days there were quite strict laws that prevented anyone from entering a higher educational institution without a Moscow residence permit. Therefore, we had to start, as they say, “from the bottom”: Arman entered a regular vocational school. This happened in 1985. Three years later, he graduated from it, receiving a specialty as a joiner-carpenter. Moreover, even here, studying such a prosaic and far from jurisprudence matter, the young man proved himself to be a diligent and persistent student and graduated from college with honors. Also during that period, the guy’s creative streak became visible: while studying, he played in the student theater.

In 1988, after college, Arman entered the Moscow Civil Engineering Institute (MISI). After studying there for only a year, the guy went into the army, because he received a summons demanding that he do military service. However, there is information that in fact Davletyarov joined the army not because of a subpoena, but because of an unhappy love story. Moreover, this incident allegedly led to a serious disagreement and even a quarrel with his family. Be that as it may, the guy first goes to serve in Ukraine (in the Zhytomyr region), where he undergoes training. Then he is sent to the signal troops in Hungary. When that military unit was disbanded, the young man was transferred to the capital of the Azerbaijan SSR, Baku.

After serving in the army, Arman Davletyarov returns to Moscow and can freely pursue his dream of becoming a lawyer. To do this, he is transferred from MISS to Moscow Law University, and chooses the correspondence department. While studying there, he had an internship with the police, namely in the criminal investigation department of the Perovsky district of Moscow. Davletyarov still calls the years of studenthood and police practice, albeit difficult, but very interesting, the most wonderful period of his life in the capital of the USSR. And although, based on the results of his internship, the guy could successfully continue working in the legal field, he did not do this, but decided to break with this specialty altogether. The young man was helped to come to the final decision by his older brother, who at that time was already working as a lawyer. He told how sometimes it is difficult to protect people, because among his clients there are not only honest and innocent citizens, but also notorious scoundrels, real scum. And the lawyer is forced to find an excuse for any of them and do everything to save him, even if as a person he himself wishes him due retribution. Arman remembered these words of his brother very well. They impressed him so much that young Davletyarov did not want to spend his whole life doing something that entailed such a heavy moral burden. He decides to radically change his field of activity.

Biography

He was born near Orenburg, in the village of Tamar-Utkul, into a Kazakh family. When he was thirteen years old, his father died, and he was left alone with his mother - his older sister and brother had left home to study by that time. Arman helped his mother with the housework as best he could, looking after the cows, sheep and geese.

After graduating from the eighth grade, he also left his native village for Moscow, entered a vocational school, from which he later graduated with honors, receiving the profession of a carpenter. Then there was the Institute of Civil Engineering, which he never graduated from.

After serving in the army, Davletyarov returned to the capital and transferred to a law university - he always dreamed of becoming a lawyer. During his studies, Arman completed an internship in the criminal investigation department of the Perovsky district. In his final years, Davletyarov transferred to the correspondence department and worked as a law teacher at the same vocational school where he once studied.

Then he could not even imagine that his biography would be connected with show business. It all started with an acquaintance with the group “A-Studio”, then there were “Dirty Rotten Scoundrels”, “Vostok”, and after some time Arman Davletyarov became the producer of Murat Nasyrov.

He liked the way of life that began for him - traveling, meeting new people. In ninety-three, Davletyarov began collaborating with the production company, and three years later became its general director.

He opened his own company in 2001, and two years later a period of political activity began in his biography - he became an assistant to a State Duma deputy. In 2007, Arman, having graduated from the Russian Academy of Civil Service under the President of the Russian Federation, defended his Ph.D. thesis.

He came to Muz-TV in 2008, and a year later became its music director. Davletyarov became the managing director of the channel in the twelfth year, and the next year he took the position of general director of the channel.

Arman Ilyubaevich explains that today Muz-TV is the leader among other music channels by the fact that they have a very well-coordinated team that does everything to make Muz-TV the best.

“I have great respect for my colleagues and artists and value my friendship with them. Without this, I would not be able to manage the channel today and get the results that we have,” says Arman Davletyarov.

Arman Ilyubaevich devotes a lot of time to social and political work, in particular, to establishing cultural ties between Russia and Kazakhstan.

Getting started in show business

Alla Pugacheva , called “Christmas Meetings,” was once again held in Moscow for ten days Arman Davletyarov decided that it was impossible not to take advantage of this chance and spent all ten days at the festival, where he made useful acquaintances and connections. The real path to the world of show business for the young Kazakh began with the A-Studio group, namely from the moment he met producer and singer Batyrkhan Shukenov. At first, Arman simply asked for an autograph and said a few warm phrases. Then several short, seemingly random meetings took place - and the two men became friends. The patronage of the A-Studio group at that time was the Russian pop diva Alla Pugacheva herself. Having made friends with Batyrkhan Shukenov, Arman Davletyarov struck up an acquaintance with Alla Borisovna, and she saw prospects and great potential in the guy.

Some time after meeting the A-Studio team, the guys from the group invited Davletyarov to become the administrator of their colleague Murat Nasyrov, who was just beginning an active solo career. Having tried himself in this activity, Arman felt capable of much more. Therefore, in 1993, the guy achieved that he was appointed to the position of director of the production department, he became the head of the concert department. In 1996, the general director of this concept, Yuri Aizenshpis, switched to purely creative work, and he was replaced in such a responsible position by the young Davletyarov.

Arman was not going to stop there; exams to the capital’s civil engineering university awaited him ahead. The strict laws of that time did not allow Arman to enroll in a lawyer's course. The reason for this was the lack of registration in Moscow. Davletyarov was unable to graduate from college because he was drafted into the army.

Only then did his dream come true, because Davletyarov was able to enter the Faculty of Law. But then the older brother, who had always been a huge authority for the younger one, intervened. He said that until Arman learns, let him not even think about marriage, no one will let him do it anyway. The young man was even ready to leave home to be with his beloved. But then the girl herself decided to break off their relationship, not wanting to bring discord into her lover’s family.

After suffering mental trauma, young Davletyarov did not even want to think about new relationships and completely switched to work and personal development. Finally, the mother of the future famous producer took matters into her own hands and invited her son to find him a worthy bride. Very little time passed, and Armand’s parents introduced their chosen one to him. The girl was eleven years younger than the man. At first, the young people resisted the wedding, but parents on both sides finally achieved their goal - traditional Kazakh matchmaking and weddings. Rumor has it that in the first year of marriage the young couple could not find a common language, but then everything improved.

The man was left without work and without money. but with a lot of debt. At the same time, real grief occurred in their family - their brother, whom Arman loved very much, died of a heart attack. The wife supported her husband as best she could, and then one day she offered to go on vacation. She said that they would definitely have enough for tickets. The young couple's last money was spent on a trip to Egypt, but the Davletyarovs returned as changed people. Moreover, after arriving home they learned that they would soon become parents. The moment he learned about this, Arman, according to him, felt incredible happiness.

Arman Davletyarov with his family

This detail adds respect to their relationship and prevents scandals from arising, which the Davletyarovs almost never have.

Arman Davletyarov: MUZ-TV is not the channel of my favorite songs

Arman Davletyarov told in an interview with informburo.kz how young guys can get on MUZ-TV, how he manages to build relationships with stars, separate friendship from work and what projects he plans in Kazakhstan, as well as the traditions that his family has preserved. The video version of the interview can be viewed here.

– Tell me, how can unknown musicians get on your channel? Is there maybe some kind of fee?

– We haven’t had such words for a long time... I’ve been working on the channel for more than 10 years, and this practice doesn’t exist on MUZ-TV. If there are any conversations, then these are just evil tongues. The channel makes money only from advertising that we sell and from sponsorship of programs. We have a whole department that searches for young performers: they look on the Internet for today's popular music, and if it is within the bounds of decency, then what we can afford to put on air, we play it and try it. We give our audience the opportunity to choose, to keep their finger on the pulse: what is fashionable today and what is popular with viewers today. All over the world, not only in Russia.

– And if the guys from the village come, come to your office and say: look at us, show us...

– To do this, you don’t need to come to our office: we live in the 21st century, there is an e-mail on our website, where any performer, no matter where he is, in Kazakhstan or Latvia, can send his material. He will definitely reach the department that deals with the musical material, and he will receive an answer whether his video was broadcast or not. For guys who make not very expensive clips, and sometimes even strange clips, we have special programs called “MuzRaskrupka”, “Neformat-chart”, where we show small pieces of these clips, showing that there is such musical material . Even if it is not for daily rotation, you can appreciate this creativity by watching a piece on our broadcast, and you can see everything else on the website.

– What factors determine how many times a video clip of a particular artist can be played per day? You have a lot of celebrity friends, it doesn’t happen that they call with a request: show me more?..

“I haven’t been asked such questions for a long time, because friendship is friendship, and work is work.” We have maximum rotation - 3-4 times a day, it includes clips that are at the top of the hit parade today. If Dima Bilan’s video “Hold” is in first place, it means it’s in hot rotation. If “So Beautiful” by Sergei Lazarev is in first place, it means it’s in our rotation. And we can’t afford more, and we need more, because the broadcast is not rubber, there are many artists, and we want the broadcast to be dynamic, diverse and interesting for our viewer.

– Show business stars speak very highly of you, which in itself is very rare. Tell me, how do you manage to find a common language with everyone?

– Well, you don’t always have to find a common language with everyone, and in general, I believe that you cannot be on friendly terms with everyone. You have close relationships with someone, you have close friends, with someone you just have a working relationship, with someone you communicate little or not at all. There are nice people, and there are unpleasant ones, as probably in any profession. It’s just that here you need to set priorities all the time and not forget that I run a music channel, and our relationship does not in any way affect whether you appear on air or not. Therefore, when someone accuses me of having a certain pool of artists, it is not true. There are only those stars or artists who have material that is in demand today, and, accordingly, it is on our air. And with our colleagues, of course, I argue, and we have scandalous situations even when we are accused of something, but when you have been working with creative people for many years, as I have, I already understand that many things no need to pay attention.

That is, I compare it as with a child. Here I have small children, and here they are playing in the sandbox. I tell them: “Come on, don’t touch it, now the poop will get into your mouth,” but he still grabs this stick, falls, then cries and comes up to me. Or I take away this stick - dad is bad, and starts hitting me with his hands. I don’t take offense at the child. It's the same with artists. They are emotional. He didn’t receive the MUZ-TV award plate - MUZ-TV is bad, everything was bought from them. A month passed, a couple of weeks, it cooled down, he called: well, sorry, I got excited. You need to love what you do, love your job, love the colleagues with whom you work. At least, if not love, then treat them with respect. And here the key to my relationship success is quite banal and simple. Don't ask for anything in return for what you do to them. You do it not in terms of some kind of work, but in terms of the fact that I am sincere, honest in my relationships with them, without sycophancy or unnecessary words. This is probably why they appreciate me.

– What does quality music mean to you, what kind of music do you like to listen to? Not something you have to listen to every day, but for the soul?

– In order not to invent anything, I’ll just open my phone. What do I have here? My selection is very different. Here are my playlists. Now I'll show you. For example, Mitya Zheleznyak “I'm afraid. I love". This is a completely unknown artist, I found him yesterday, listened to the song, liked it, downloaded it. Next I have Yura Shatunov “White Roses”, “Gray Night”, Murat Nasyrov - all his albums, Kairat Nurtas, Enrique Iglesias, Sergey Lazarev, Craig David. Well, branded artists went further, starting with Selena Gomez. Well, you see everything. There is Loboda, and Barskikh, and Drake, and Weekend, and Serebro, and Philip Kirkorov, Adele. In a word, different music - from Stas Mikhailov and Shatunov to Adele and Bieber.

– You said that you are very pleased with the content of MUZ-TV. All content? Are groups like “Singing Cowards” not making their way onto the airwaves?

– We don’t have “The Singing Cowards” on air. We approach the selection of musical material very carefully. After some time, I may not like the television program that we put on air, because I see that there are some points that we can still work on. But the product that is on the air today is fully consistent with what it should be. Maybe I don’t agree with everything, but there is a large team of my colleagues for this. After all, this is not the channel of Arman Davletyarov and my favorite songs and programs, this is the national music channel of Russia, everything here is fashionable, relevant, modern, so that our viewer not only listens and watches good music, but we also try to instill in him, and not impose completely different music, different directions, so that he has the right to choose.

At the MUZ-TV “Gravity” award in Astana / Photo informburo.kz

The MUZ-TV “Gravity” award in Astana was very pompous, only the weather let us down. Is there any idea to hold a similar event in Astana again?

– We don’t have this in our plans. But it really was a bright, important event in the life of not only the people of Kazakhstan, but also all those guests who came to the MUZ-TV award - more than 1000 people: artists, producers, famous people of Russia and not only. The way we were greeted there, the attitude towards the guests, towards the award itself, will forever remain in the hearts of not only the organizers, but also our stars, who remember, of course, both this hurricane and the rain. Everyone jokes about this topic, in a good way. But this hurricane showed that we were all able to unite during an unforeseen situation.

At the MUZ-TV “Gravity” award in Astana / Photo informburo.kz

It seems that in everyday life they all compete, fight for their plates, for a place on the pedestal, but here, despite the fact that everything was raining, everyone understood that this was a live broadcast, that hundreds of millions of people were watching the broadcast, everyone was sitting on wet chairs , ran around, changed dresses and suits. I remember Philip Kirkorov sitting in the dressing room, scratching his curls and saying: “Well, Arman, don’t be upset, but now we’ll put on a beautiful face and, as always, we’ll smile and take a beautiful picture.”

Although, you understand, they could simply come out and say: “we will not be in the hall” or “we will not participate in this, we are cold, we are damp, and to some extent unsafe, because it was possible to slip and fall " And despite the fact that there was a hurricane, there was heavy rain, as they say, my native land simply supported me and pulled me out of the situation in which we found ourselves. Nature intervened, but my native walls helped me. When all this happened, and our equipment did not work, and everything was pouring there, I went outside and thought: Lord, why here, why in Kazakhstan, why now. For the first time I brought 1000 people here, live broadcast, and suddenly this happened. The higher powers heard me - and everything worked out for us, and I would like to once again take this opportunity to say a huge thank you to all the people of Kazakhstan for your attention, for your warmth, for your hospitality, and I would like to say a special thank you to Nursultan Abishevich Nazarbayev for his support , for his attention to the MUZ-TV award. For us, the organizers, the Russians, the stars who came there, this was very important.

– Are there still any plans for an away bonus?

– There are no plans yet. We left Moscow once, and I don’t plan to do so again.

– Don’t want to take risks?

– The question is not even a question of risk, this is a national music award. We had the only experience, and yet the national music award should be held here, in Moscow, in Russia.

– Who gave you the idea to give the MUZ-TV plate “For contribution to life” to Nursultan Nazarbayev?

– It was our decision, the decision of the MUZ-TV channel. This is a special nomination that was established several years ago, it is awarded to outstanding people for their contribution to people's lives. Who else but Nursultan Abishevich Nazarbayev deserves this award from the MUZ-TV channel. We did this with great pleasure, and once again thank you very much for accepting this award from our channel.

– At one time you had a program “Always yours Arman Davletyarov” on the Khabar TV channel. This was a one-time event, are you planning any other programs in Kazakhstan?

– The program was broadcast not only on “Khabar” - also on the “Kazakhstan” channel, the program was broadcast on 3-4 channels. At the moment, I have filmed another series of programs, they are also called “Always yours Arman Davletyarov”, and there are new heroes, very interesting heroes: Grigory Leps, Mikhail Galustyan, Polina Gagarina, Vladislav Tretyak and so on. We talk there not only about the creativity and life of these artists and athletes, we talk a lot about Kazakhstan, about Astana. As soon as we finish working on a series of these programs, we will immediately decide on the channel where it will be broadcast.

– Tell us what it was like to work with Murat Nasyrov?

“Literally a few days ago, his daughter Mia was in my office. She looks so much like him: with glasses, with the same haircut - just one face. We sat with her, I talked with her with such pleasure, she’s like Murat’s blood, she’s grown up, and I see her periodically at large intervals, maybe once a year. We remembered Murat a lot and talked about these very moments when he took his first steps, how difficult it was. Of course, he is a very talented and amazing vocalist, artist, and many of our stars today need to take an example from Murat Nasyrov - it is his dedication, his attitude to work, his professionalism. It’s a pity that he left early, but he left a big mark on musical history, and not only for the audience, but also for his colleagues. I told his daughter that it was not easy working with him. In general, it’s not easy to work with creative people, especially talented ones. He is a person, I am a person, and we were always at odds with each other, but at the same time we worked together all the time, with the exception of a short period. And she asked me: why? Well, because I was in love with his work, I loved what he was doing so much, and with all my heart I was sick and tried to do everything as much as possible so that his work, his songs were heard by people, heard in our country, in Kazakhstan. Murat, accordingly, understood all this, he didn’t like it when he brought a song, and I said: this is not a hit, I don’t like it. He was naturally indignant because he had been working on this song for several days or months. But in fact, we treated each other with respect, and we simply did not pay attention to any nuances that arose.

– You were the producer of the closing of the Asian Games in Almaty. There is an opinion that Kazakh business is special and needs to be sustained. Did you have any problems?

- I wouldn't say he's special. The pace in Kazakhstan is a little different. If in Moscow we are always running somewhere, you wake up in the morning and run, and all the time you are in some kind of race - in a good way, in a bad way - I can’t say anymore, because we are already used to it. But in Kazakhstan, everything is still a little measured, people are calmer, they communicate differently. When you come to a meeting, we say hello, shake hands, and immediately talk about work. There they will definitely ask you questions: how did you get there, how did you settle in, is everything okay. And at first, of course, it hurt my ears and I didn’t even like it a little, because we were wasting time on unnecessary conversations. But this is respect and attitude towards the guest, and I think this is correct. And now, when they come to meet me, I also communicate, ask questions, because we are all people, and each of us would like attention, respect and a good attitude. It doesn’t matter whether you met for 15-20 minutes or two hours, whether you hold the position of general director or just a correspondent. Here you need to learn to respect people and treat them the way you would like to be treated. Simple banal phrases, but it is so important in relationships with people that we often forget about it.

– Are you planning any other projects in Kazakhstan?

– I’m happy to come there. There are several projects where I take part and help make them happen. I wouldn’t talk about it now, because some projects are under development, some projects are already ready. But it’s better to talk about them when people see them. Of course, I am mostly busy here, after all, there is a 24-hour national music channel, there are a lot of our big events that we do in Russia, in Moscow, plus I have a big family, and I would like to devote more time to them. But everything connected with Kazakhstan, of course, is dear to me, close, it’s my family. It's forever in my heart.

– In many interviews you told how you went, how you dreamed of becoming a lawyer, but became a producer. So this wasn't your dream?

- Well, how can a guy from the village dream of becoming a producer, especially in those days? I didn't even know that word.

– Is it possible to say that life knows better what a person needs, in your case?

- Let's say it differently. When you don’t know what to do, you need to start and try all the time. I worked as a joiner, a carpenter, and a master of industrial training, and gave lectures, and worked in construction, so all these areas, of course, gave me certain life experience, but this is how it happened in my life, an incident occurred that changed my life. life, I don't regret it. Therefore, for this incident to happen in your life, you first need to leave the house. If you live in a village, buy a ticket, go to the city, go to the theater, cinema, or some exhibition. If you live in the city, put on a new suit, a beautiful dress and just go for a walk, go to places where you have not usually been. At least start with this. Usually I get asked the question: where to start? Start by getting off the couch and moving around.

– You lived in Russia all your life, but your parents preserved Kazakh traditions. How are things going with this in your family now? Will you choose brides for your sons yourself, like your mother did?

– It is very important to preserve the traditions of your people. It so happened that we live in Russia, our historical homeland is Kazakhstan, we are Kazakhs by nationality, but from a very early age, as a child, I always heard Kazakh speech. In our house, Kazakh customs and traditions, holidays, all national dishes, and feasts have always been observed. And today, here in Moscow, naturally, for every holiday in our family there must be Kazakh dishes on the table. As long as we know, preserve and observe our customs, we know our history, we have a future. And I tell my children about this, my parents talked about this, it’s very important.

- Well, what about brides?

- Yes, at least that's what I plan on. Every time we gather around the table, I tell them somewhere in a joking manner: when you grow up, boys, mom and dad will find you beautiful Kazakh girls. They are silent. The eldest, who is already 12, once asked: why you? I answered: because we love you so much and wish you happiness that, probably, only mom and dad will be able to find you the one with whom you will live your whole life. You see, this happened in my life, in the life of your grandmother, your uncle, and in general, I think this is a good tradition. But, as they say, we propose, but God disposes. That’s my plan, but the most important thing is that the children are happy. I don’t know how things will turn out in 10 years, if they are against it, of course, I won’t insist if they meet the one themselves and want to create their own relationship, their own life. My task is for them to preserve our Kazakh roots, so that they know our customs, know the language and be happy and healthy.

– So they know the language?

“They don’t know him as much as I do.” I won’t lie, I can’t say that I know the Kazakh language well, but I speak with my mother only in Kazakh every day. This is the only person with whom I speak Kazakh every day; my wife and I also speak Kazakh at home, but only when we want to hide something from our children, to keep things secret. I have already found a camp in Almaty for them to study the Kazakh language and live there.
