Finyagin Andrey Vladimirovich: biography, career, personal life

Biography

The future artist was born in one of the capital's maternity hospitals at the end of 1977.
None of his close circle had anything to do with the world of art: his mother worked as an engineer, his father as a teacher. The boy spent his childhood in Chertanovo, where he, like most of his peers, enthusiastically played football. At that time, Andrei did not even dream of acting fame: he was much more attracted to the profession of a taxi driver, like his beloved grandfather.

In high school, Andrei became seriously interested in history, and even planned to enroll in the history department of one of the prestigious Moscow universities. He carefully prepared for the upcoming exams, but fate decided otherwise. It so happened that Andrei was forced to complete his last two classes at another school. There was a drama club there, which the high school student visited out of curiosity.

Andrey liked the atmosphere that reigned in the circle so much that he immediately signed up, and over the next two years he studied in it with great pleasure. After graduating from school, not really believing in success, Finyagin applied to several theater universities. To his great surprise, he was accepted into two of them at once - the Moscow Art Theater School and the Shchepkinsky School.

Andrei had no doubts about his choice when he learned that at the Moscow Art Theater he would learn the basics of acting under the guidance of the legendary Oleg Efremov. Already during his studies, Finyagin took an active part in theatrical sketches: he portrayed Prince the Great at children's Christmas trees, and traveled around the capital's schools with New Year's sketches.

Who is Andrey Finyagin?

Andrey Finyagin is a famous actor of the Russian Federation, whose popularity was brought by the detective story “Mistress”.

Andrey was born in the capital, and spent his entire childhood in Chertanovo. There was no one in the family who would connect their life with cinema or theater. Dad was a teacher, and mother worked at the university as an engineer. Dmitry has a younger brother who chose a completely different path in life and entered the culinary arts, to become a cook.

For a long time, Finyagin himself did not even think about entering the theater. Andrei said in one of his interviews that he looked at how his grandfather sat behind the wheel and dreamed of becoming a taxi driver. During my school years I was fond of sports and dancing. He rarely thought about his future, but for some reason he always thought that he would enter the history department. He even prepared for the entrance exams.

But by chance, he had to transfer to another school in his senior year, where there was a drama club. He did not even imagine that theatrical life would involve him so much. Out of curiosity, he applied to two theater universities, and was enrolled in two at the same time.

He still chose the Moscow Art Theater. Already during his student years he began working at children's matinees. After that, he began working at the Moscow Academic Theater , where he literally “outplayed” in all the performances. After that, he went to work at the Theater for Young Spectators, where he works to this day, traveling throughout the country.

Theater activities

Having become one of the best graduates, Finyagin was accepted into the troupe of the Moscow Academic Theater, where within two years he managed to play in many productions of the classical repertoire:

  • "Cyrano de Bergerac";
  • "Little tragedies";
  • "Indian Kingdom";
  • "Juliet and her Romeo";
  • "Gull".

After the death of Oleg Efremov, the theater was headed by Oleg Tabakov, who completely renewed the composition of the troupe. As a result, Andrei got a job at the Theater for Young Spectators, with whom he continues to work closely to this day.

Theater

Among the 15 best graduates, Andrei Finyagin entered the service of the Moscow Academic Theater. Over the course of two years, he managed to act in a number of productions of the classical repertoire: in the plays “Little Tragedies”, “Juliet and Her Romeo”, “Cyrano de Bergerac”, “The Indian Kingdom”, “The Seagull”.

Finyagin said that four days before his death, Efremov arrived in Melikhovo, where at the Chekhov festival his students, including Andrei, performed the graduation performance “Woman’s Kingdom.” Oleg Nikolaevich then invited them to get together after the weekend and discuss how to make a new Moscow Art Theater. But Efremov was gone... And then Finyagin “left” the theater, like almost his entire course.

The artist moved to the Theater for Young Spectators, with whom he collaborated for more than ten years. At the Youth Theater he played in the plays “Romantics”, “A Ridiculous Poem”, “The Thunderstorm”, “Dulcinea of Toboso”.

Since 2020, Andrey Finyagin has been an actor at the School of Dramatic Art theater, Alexander Ogarev Laboratory.

Works in this theater: “Forest. Dialogues on the Road", "Chairmen of the Globe", "Summer Residents".

Film career

The young artist’s first experience in cinema was a small role in the detective drama “Beauty Salon”. The director liked his performance, and soon Finyagin could be seen in such popular television series as “Turkish March”, “On the Corner of the Patriarchs”, “Thief-2. Happiness for rent."

Andrey’s first serious success came after the release of the crime film “Mistress”. Director David Keosayan spent a long time looking for a suitable actor to play the role of the unbalanced Stroganov. When he saw Finyagin’s photo, he approved the actor without testing.

Andrei managed to play the role so believably that in the future he even received letters from psychiatrists indicating all the mental disorders that he portrayed. This was followed by equally interesting works:

  • "Crazy Love";
  • "Abnormal";
  • "Icy Passion";
  • "Champion";
  • "Gypsies".

Finyagin managed to prove to the audience and directors that he has an original acting talent and is able to cope with any role, even the most difficult one. Another round of success occurred when Andrei starred in the adventure melodrama Marriage by Will and in two parts of its sequel.

In this film project, Finyagin received a positive image, despite his established role as a star villain. To film this film, the actor needed to take firearms lessons and carefully study the intricacies of etiquette, but the effort was worth it - the character Andrei played turned out to be very convincing! Then Finyagin’s creative collection included such paintings as:

  • “There was love”;
  • "Marines";
  • “The path to yourself”;
  • "On the run";
  • "Leave to Stay";
  • Crime.

In 2020, one of the last films with Finyagin’s participation was released – the comedy television series “Pap Dan”. A little later, the premiere of the melodrama “City of Lovers” is expected.

Cinema in the life of an actor

2005 marked the beginning of work in cinema for the theater actor and opened a new face for film fans. The first attempt at writing, as they say, took place in the detective-drama film “Beauty Salon”. Then he appeared in several multi-part projects:

  • "March of Turetsky";
  • "Thief-2. Happiness for rent";
  • "On the corner of the Patriarch's."

The aspiring film actor played minor roles in them, and real recognition came to him after the crime-themed film “Mistress.”

David Keosayan accepted Finyagin for the role of the mentally unstable Stroganov even without auditioning. Andrey’s type suited him 100%, and the director was not mistaken. The image turned out to be so true that even psychiatry experts were sure that there was a real patient on the screen and in their messages they described to him the diseases that, in their competent opinion, the actor suffered from. And after his next work in the comedy-romantic film “Crazy,” the actor’s career began to develop rapidly, and a large number of interesting offers began to arrive.

The next period of the artist’s work was marked by a number of leading roles in diverse films:

  • “Crazy Love” (melodrama);
  • "Gypsies" (family saga);
  • "Champion" (drama);
  • "Icy Passion" (detective).

He did not intend to stop at the achieved result and continued to show his talent from film to film, delighting his fans with new images.

Next in line was “Marriage by Will” and the development of events in two blocks “Marriage by Will. The Return of Sandra", "Marriage by Will. Dancing on the coals." A distinctive feature of this work was that Andrei appeared as a positive person, a British Harper. The memories of this project remained indelible, because the filming took place in various parts of Eurasia, there were scenes with shootings, which required special training and additional lessons from the Olympic coach.
