"Frida"

(eng. Frida) is a 2002 drama about the life of Mexican artist Frida Kahlo. The film is based on Hayden Herrera's book Frida: The Biography of Frida Kahlo.

Winner of the Oscar in the categories “Best Music for a Film” and “Best Make-up”. The lead actress, Salma Hayek, was nominated for an Oscar, a Golden Globe, and a BAFTA for her acting work in the film.

Plot

At the age of 18, Frida was in a serious accident. The injury she received tormented her all her life. The initial stages of her treatment in the hospital are shown in a nightmarish stop-motion animation created by the Kai brothers. Her father brought Frida a canvas on which she painted while lying in a hospital bed and unable to move. Several times in the film, a scene is shown as a painted canvas and then slowly turns into an actual scene with actors. The film also shows Frida's relationship with her husband, the artist Diego Rivera, and especially her anger at his infidelities and her continued love for him despite everything.

Personal life of Dmitry Frid

Dmitry Fried tries not to talk about his personal life. He keeps this part of his life so secret that none of the artist’s fans even have an idea whether Dmitry Frid has a wife and children. If so, where do they live - in the capital of Russia or abroad.

FilmFrida

Frida Kahlo (Hayek), a girl with fused eyebrows, an art institute student, broke her spine at the age of 15, found herself shackled in a corset for the rest of her life, married the libertine Diego Rivera (Molina), became pregnant, despite the dangerous state of her body, and barely suffered a miscarriage, threw Rivera scenes of jealousy, fell in love with Trotsky (Rush), got divorced, indulged in alcoholism and lesbianism, became the object of worship of Parisian fashionistas and a non-walking invalid. And all the time I was drawing, drawing, drawing. Myself.

Perhaps this very “me” is the main reason why I am not able to love a film called “Frida”. Although the tenacity of Selma Hayek, who spent ten years trying to get this film made, and then also achieving the leading role on an equal footing with Madonna and Jennifer Lopez, is worthy of respect, and then threw away the depilator and grew a mustache and eyebrows, which is a great sacrifice for a Hollywood star, and then she filmed completely naked, for which a huge thank you to her. There are magical moments in the film, though, when the design takes precedence over the straightforward flow of the biographical novel: for example, the scene of Frida and Rivera's arrival in New York is a widescreen newspaper collage with fonts and typographic standards of the twenties. Although there are very interesting things, comparable in effect to solving a Rubik’s cube in two minutes: when Frida’s paintings come to life through animation and we see exactly from what impressions these seemingly irrational, surreal images were constructed. There are nice celebrity cameos (Antonio Banderas, Geoffrey Rush, Edward Norton) in celebrity roles (Siqueiros, Trotsky, Rockefeller) and the absolutely brilliant Ashley Judd as photographer Tina Modotti. Judd showed herself to be a surprisingly intelligent woman: judging by the manner of her performance, she clearly knows the role of Sandrelli in “The Conformist” by heart. And, of course, the heart breaks when the already 83-year-old diva of the Mexican cabaret of the 40-60s and the mistress of Frida Chavela Vargas, so old that it is impossible to determine her gender, bawles a deafeningly sentimental bolero opposite the drunken Hayek. But the feeling of inadequacy of pathos and object does not allow us to love it all. The self-obsessed, hysterical person that Señora Calo apparently was does not make Pavka Korchagin. And leave this talk about a life devoted to art, the madness of the creator, and so on. For God's sake, her life may have been given to art, but her art, the object of which was only herself, invariably returned this very life to her, her beloved. Like a boomerang.

Also, very loud headlines of news articles appeared on the Internet for some time - “Alexandra Nikiforova and Dmitry Frid are building a romantic relationship.” As it turned out later, this story also remained at the level of rumors, since Alexandra herself stated that there was no romance between her and the actor. Dmitry confirmed the statement of his partner on the set.

Alexandra Nikiforova and Dmitry Frid

“There is not and never was any relationship between Sasha and me. We are just colleagues, nothing more. If I don’t like to talk about my personal life, then this does not give reason to attribute novels to me with different actresses,” Fried noted.

It is impossible to follow the personal life of Dmitry Frid on social networks, since the artist does not maintain personal pages. Photos of your favorite filmmaker can be found exclusively on various websites. As the artist has repeatedly admitted, he does not like taking photos at all, so most of the pictures appear on the Internet without his knowledge.

“I think that the large public does not need to know all the details of my personal life. If I consider it necessary, I will definitely tell you everything in the future,” notes Dmitry.

It is noteworthy that many viewers confuse the actor with his famous colleague Hugh Grant. Indeed, there are sometimes similarities between the two actors.

Biography

Frida Gustafsson was born on June 6, 1993 in Stockholm, Sweden. She grew up as a very active child and already in early childhood she showed artistic inclinations.

“I loved putting on shows, singing and dancing, and doing my own little plays. I made my own movies with little ponies and superhero dolls."

Frida attended drama school for a while, but as she grew older, she lost confidence in her body and became a very shy teenager. Acting lessons were replaced by sports training. For several years, the girl was involved in athletics and planned to connect her future life with professional sports, but in 2008 a chance meeting changed her fate.

Frida was in the supermarket with her father when she was noticed by a representative of the small Swedish agency Stockholmsgruppen Models and literally immediately offered her to become a model. From that moment on, the 15-year-old girl began working in the modeling business and was able to complete her studies at school only in 2011.
