Actor Andrei Chubchenko told why he is similar to his characters

Andrey Chubchenko is a Russian theater and film actor. The actor became widely known for his participation in the crime series “Chief”, where he played the kind and fair policeman Viktor Sergeevich Rastorguev.

In an interview with Hometown, Andrei told how he got into the cult project Chef, what difficulties there were in working on the role and when to expect the continuation of his favorite television series.

– Andrey Alexandrovich, how did you get into the series? Have you been casting or already worked with someone from the team, that’s why you were invited?

“They took me on to the project thanks to director Oleg Larin, who later directed the series “Chef.” In 2012, he invited me to play the role of Ignat in the television film “Second Love”, then I played for the same director in the film “The Abbot-2”. On this set, I met wonderful people, including the general producer of the above-mentioned company, Inessa Yurchenko, who some time later invited me to play the main role in the television series “Chef.” I am grateful to her for opening the way for me to this complex and interesting project. Before that, I had never played police officers in my life - producers and directors found my face too intelligent for such roles. (Laughs.)

– In the television series you play a police officer. What interested you in this character?

– At first I wasn’t interested. It was during the filming that he became close and very dear to me. It is partly similar to my realistic character, because what the actor reproduces in the frame, he passes through himself. I do not exclude the possibility that I would perform certain actions in life, such as Viktor Rastorguev does on the other side of the screen. But in general, no matter how it sounds, we sometimes have to make compromises... I really like that my character is an open, uncompromising and honest person. Therefore, I think that our characters and those of Viktor Sergeevich Rastorguev coincide.

– There are a lot of tricks in the series. Did you do them yourself or did you have stuntmen?

“I did some of them, but the rest - such as falling from a height, dragging a car - were still the work of professionals. There were, of course, injuries after the stunts. For example, this happened in the second season of the series “Chef 2”. Right on the first day of shooting, when we were filming the fight, my leg was broken. Then the film crew waited for two weeks for me to be stitched up and released from the hospital. By the way, after this incident I got a backup, but he didn’t last long because he moved very slowly, unlike me. (Laughs.)

– What kind of relationship do you have with your partners on the set?

– I am a non-conflict person, so the relationship is built wonderfully. Everyone on the set worked efficiently and harmoniously. Sometimes we had to improvise and come up with certain scenes. All this happened by mutual agreement with producers and directors. Overall we had a team game.

– Don’t you suffer from the attention of fans?

- No. In general, people treat me with respect. I never had a passer-by grab my hand or drag me along. At most they can nod or just be happy.

– What do you have to sacrifice for your work?

– For six years I have been traveling between St. Petersburg and Moscow. First of all, I have to sacrifice free time and spending time with my family. All this was due to my busy work schedule.

– What projects are you currently involved in?

– I recently participated in a television project, which was filmed specifically for one of the federal television channels.

Personal life of Andrey Chubchenko

As you know, the actor hides practically nothing from the public and media representatives. The personal life of Andrei Chubchenko has a certain consistency. He decided on his wife many years ago, so he is happy in family matters. While still studying at the institute, the filmmaker fell in love, and soon Yulia Zykova became Andrei Chubchenko’s wife. Let us note that the artist’s chosen one is also an actress, but she gives preference to acting on the theater stage, and is very rarely seen on the set.

Chubchenko’s wife can be seen in such television projects as “Judicial Column” and “Stargazer”.

One day, pleasant changes happened in Andrei Chubchenko’s personal life - his beloved gave his husband a child, in whom he doted on. It is known that the daughter of a star couple does not plan to follow in her parents’ footsteps. Now she dreams of a profession that has absolutely nothing to do with the world of theater and cinema.

The star family no longer has children, but this does not interfere with their happiness together. The actor claims that he is now ready to babysit his grandchildren.

Excerpt characterizing Chubchenko, Andrey Alexandrovich

- Give me a thimble from there, young lady. - Soon, finally? - said the count, entering from behind the door. - Here's some perfume for you. Peronskaya is already tired of waiting. “It’s ready, young lady,” said the maid, lifting the hemmed smoky dress with two fingers and blowing and shaking something, expressing with this gesture an awareness of the airiness and purity of what she was holding. Natasha began to put on her dress. “Now, now, don’t go, dad,” she shouted to her father, who opened the door, still from under the haze of her skirt, which covered her entire face. Sonya slammed the door. A minute later the count was let in. He was in a blue tailcoat, stockings and shoes, perfumed and oiled. - Oh, dad, you are so good, dear! – Natasha said, standing in the middle of the room and straightening the folds of the haze. “Excuse me, young lady, allow me,” said the girl, standing on her knees, pulling off her dress and turning the pins from one side of her mouth to the other with her tongue. - Your will! - Sonya cried out with despair in her voice, looking at Natasha’s dress, - your will, it’s long again! Natasha moved away to look around in the dressing table. The dress was long. “By God, madam, nothing is long,” said Mavrusha, crawling on the floor behind the young lady. “Well, it’s long, so we’ll sweep it up, we’ll sweep it up in a minute,” said the determined Dunyasha, taking out a needle from the handkerchief on her chest and getting back to work on the floor. At this time, the countess entered shyly, with quiet steps, in her current and velvet dress. - Ooh! my beauty! - the count shouted, - better than all of you!... - He wanted to hug her, but she pulled away, blushing, so as not to crumple. “Mom, more on the side of the current,” Natasha said. “I’ll cut it,” and she rushed forward, and the girls who were hemming, did not have time to rush after her, tore off a piece of smoke. - My God! What is this? I don’t blame God... “I’m sweeping it all away, it won’t be visible,” Dunyasha said. - Beauty, it’s mine! - said the nanny who came in from behind the door. - And Sonyushka, what a beauty!... At a quarter past ten we finally got into the carriages and drove off. But we still had to stop by the Tauride Garden. Peronskaya was already ready. Despite her old age and ugliness, she did exactly the same thing as the Rostovs, although not with such haste (this was a common thing for her), but her old, ugly body was also perfumed, washed, powdered, and the ears were also carefully washed , and even, and just like the Rostovs, the old maid enthusiastically admired her mistress’s outfit when she came out into the living room in a yellow dress with a code. Peronskaya praised the Rostovs' toilets. The Rostovs praised her taste and dress, and, taking care of her hair and dresses, at eleven o'clock they settled into their carriages and drove off. Since the morning of that day, Natasha had not had a minute of freedom, and not once had time to think about what lay ahead of her. In the damp, cold air, in the cramped and incomplete darkness of the swaying carriage, for the first time she vividly imagined what awaited her there, at the ball, in the illuminated halls - music, flowers, dancing, the sovereign, all the brilliant youth of St. Petersburg. What awaited her was so beautiful that she did not even believe that it would happen: it was so incongruous with the impression of cold, cramped space and darkness of the carriage. She understood everything that awaited her only when, having walked along the red cloth of the entrance, she entered the entryway, took off her fur coat and walked next to Sonya in front of her mother between the flowers along the illuminated stairs. Only then did she remember how she had to behave at the ball and tried to adopt the majestic manner that she considered necessary for a girl at the ball. But fortunately for her, she felt that her eyes were running wild: she saw nothing clearly, her pulse beat a hundred times a minute, and the blood began to pound at her heart. She could not accept the manner that would make her funny, and she walked, frozen with excitement and trying with all her might to hide it. And this was the very manner that suited her most of all. In front and behind them, talking just as quietly and also in ball gowns, guests entered. The mirrors along the stairs reflected ladies in white, blue, pink dresses, with diamonds and pearls on their open arms and necks.

About cinema

Andrey Chubchenko's film debut took place in 1997. The first film in which the actor took part was called “Kotovasia”. At first, the career did not promise to be dizzying. The artist got small roles in TV series such as “The File of Detective Dubrovsky”, “The Return of Mukhtar”, “Blind”. In general, there was one episode in Chubchenko’s life that at one time shocked him greatly and made him doubt his own abilities. While still a first-year student at Shchepka, the artist had a meeting with the assistant director of Mosfilm. The woman was looking for new types for filming and, seeing Andrei Chubchenko, she categorically told him that he was categorically unsuitable for working in films. She cited the young man’s too serious face and inability to smile as the reason for her words. Chubchenko still recalls this incident and admits that he experienced terrible stress at that time. Yes, he is strikingly different from his colleagues in the shop, sometimes he seems too intelligent and correct. Moreover, at the time when the artist’s career was just beginning, images of bandits and broken cops were popular. Chubchenko, naturally, was not too similar to either one or the other.

However, the time has come, and fate gave the artist a chance to show his abilities. The man received an offer to star in Anatoly Artamonov’s film “Chef” - Chubchenko did not fail to take advantage of it. The image of a police colonel in the film created by the actor forced his colleagues to look at the artist in a new way. Preparing for the role, Chubchenko carefully studied all the nuances of police work, looked at the characteristics of real people working in the police. But the main thing that Andrei Chubchenko was interested in was biography. Russian actors often resort to similar practices to prepare for roles.

Today Chubchenko is recognized on the street and thanked for his talent, work and for the created images of honest and incorruptible heroes. He has many characteristic characters in his collection - Marshal Tukhachevsky in the serial film “Moscow Saga” and in the film “Tukhachevsky. The Marshal's Conspiracy", Pavel Alliluyev in the film "Stalin's Wife", Ivan Lebedev in the crime drama "The Priest".

Personal life of celebrities.

Among cinema stars, theater actors certainly stand out for their special professionalism. One of the most obvious examples of this statement is the hero of our today’s publication - Moscow Art Theater actor Andrei Chubchenko, who managed to shine on TV screens in a number of successful films, including “DDD. The file of detective Dubrovsky", "Servant of the Sovereigns", "Chief" and others. As one would expect, Andrei Chubchenko’s personal life is also connected with his beloved theater. By the way, there is not much information about this area of the actor’s life, since he is neither a frequent guest at social events nor a fan of frank conversations with journalists.

The biography of Andrei Chubchenko, it seemed, simply had to take shape on the theatrical stage, since it was the theater actors Lyudmila Akinina and Alexander Chubchenko who happened to become his parents. This event happened on November 8, 48 years ago. Naturally, Andrei Chubchenko spent his childhood and youth in close proximity to the magical world of the Vladimir Drama Theater. Nevertheless, neither the parents nor the future actor himself even thought about a theatrical future. On the contrary, Andrei Chubchenko directed his thoughts towards medicine, choosing the difficult work of a surgeon. True, fortunately for many of today’s fans and unfortunately for the patients whose lives he could have saved on the operating table, he failed to realize his plans. As soon as he entered the Medical Institute, Andrei Chubchenko went to repay his military duty to the country, and returned from the ranks of the army with the firm intention of devoting his life to the theatrical stage.

After graduating from the Shchepkin School, Andrei Chubchenko almost immediately found himself employed at the Moscow Art Theater. The aspiring actor was lucky both with roles and with a hostel. To date, Andrei Chubchenko’s creative biography on the Moscow Art Theater stage has already spanned 23 years. Naturally, such devotion did not leave the hero of our article without titles and awards. The actor began his film career five years after receiving his diploma in a short film. Despite the fact that Andrei Chubchenko never aspired to fame in cinema and always identified himself only as a theater actor, he gained widespread fame and glory, of course, precisely thanks to the screens. More than three dozen film roles to date are evidence of his demand, when it is too early to talk about retiring from his career.

As mentioned above, Andrei Chubchenko prefers to leave his personal life behind the scenes. However, some facts are still known. The actor met his soulmate while still studying at the Shchepkinsky School. Andrey Chubchenko and Yulia Zykova started their family in their second year. By the way, the artist’s wife is also an actress of the same theater as himself, and was also awarded the title of Honored Artist. The hero of our article, in one of his interviews, described himself as a homely person who is absolutely not attracted to social gatherings. It is for this reason that journalists are not often able to capture Andrei Chubchenko at events of this kind.

In the photo - Andrei Chubchenko's daughter Sofia

His wife gave the actor his only daughter, Sofia. As far as we know, the girl did not follow in her parents’ footsteps by entering MGIMO, so, apparently, Chubchenko’s acting dynasty will end with her. Last fall, by the way, Sofia became the heroine of a crime chronicle, having been attacked and robbed by unknown persons. However, despite the choice of university, Andrei Chubchenko’s daughter is very gifted musically, which is easy to see, since recordings of their family singing are freely available on the Internet. I wouldn't trade theater for anything.

Andrei Chubchenko learned the basics of the acting profession within the walls of the Shchepkinsky Theater School. At one time, he tried to enter all Moscow theater universities, but did not get anywhere except Shchepka. Moreover, I didn’t get into Pike “thanks” to excessive self-confidence. The young man was warned that he had to surprise the commission during the qualifying rounds. Chubchenko prepared a fable consisting of four lines. His originality was not appreciated.

After studying, the aspiring actor Andrei Chubchenko joined the troupe of the Gorky Moscow Art Theater. The biography of his theatrical life began here. However, it is difficult to call this a conscious choice; rather, it was the circumstances. After graduation, the young man was in dire need of housing, there were difficulties with registration, and only the leadership of the Gorky Moscow Art Theater was able to offer Chubchenko a hostel and, importantly for an aspiring actor, the main role in the play “Valentin and Valentina.” However, the artist connects his baptism of fire with the production of “Crazy Jourdain.” The role in this performance had to be learned in a few days. Chubchenko coped with the task brilliantly and showed his colleagues what he was capable of.

Today, on the stage of the theater, which Chubchenko never betrayed, there are many productions with his participation. Among them are “Three Sisters”, “Humiliated and Insulted”, “Hamlet”, “Russian Vaudeville”, etc. By the way, in the play “Farewell in June” Andrei Chubchenko is busy not only as an actor, but also as an assistant director.

The actor considers Tatyana Vasilievna Doronina his main teacher in the profession. According to the artist, the great actress taught him the main thing - to understand the character and remain real and organic with maximum filling.
