Childhood and adolescence

The future actor was born into an ordinary Soviet family, in no way connected with the world of cinema and theater. His father served in the air force, his mother worked in the housing and communal services sector. When the boy was three years old, the family moved to Czechoslovakia, and in 1991, after the collapse of the USSR and the withdrawal of troops, they returned to Kaluga again.

Andrey Frolov in childhood

There Andrei graduated from high school No. 22 and entered the local flight technical school. Having mastered the specialty of a mechanical technician, he decided to continue the family dynasty and become a military pilot. However, he was not accepted into an aviation university (the medical board rejected him), so he had to think about a civilian profession.

It was almost impossible to find a job in his specialty in Kaluga, so Andrei got a job as a driver for the mother of a classmate, who ran a local bank. But turning the wheel all his life was not part of the plans of the ambitious young man, who dreamed of breaking away from Kaluga and plunging into a completely different world.

Since childhood, Andrei has been interested in cinema, watched his favorite films dozens of times, and followed the life and work of actors. At school and college he took part in amateur performances, sang well and recited poetry.

Despite the protests of his parents, Frolov decided to try to enter GITIS. Realizing that he did not have the necessary training, he went to Moscow and found a tutor, Lyudmila Yuryevna Chirkova. Her efforts were not in vain, and, having successfully passed the exams, the young man was enrolled in Anatoly Romashin’s course.

A month before the start of the school year, it became known that Anatoly Vladimirovich died tragically (a pine tree fell on him at the dacha) and the course would most likely be disbanded. But, fortunately, Vitaly Solomin took the newly minted students under his wing, and on September 1, 2000, Andrei began classes. However, fate continued to test the strength of future actors - in the spring of 2002, Vitaly Methodievich had a stroke right on stage, due to which he soon died. The twice-orphaned students were picked up by People's Artist of the Russian Federation Alexander Lenkov, who gave them a start in life.
