Actress Dana Abyzova’s creative talents showed up in preschool age. The girl studied in a theater studio, took part in children's performances of the Riga Youth Theater "Reverance" and was already considered a potential star.
When the future actress turned fourteen years old, her parents divorced. Dana and her mother moved to Sergiev Posad near Moscow. And almost immediately she set off to storm the capital’s theater universities.
At the Moscow Art Theater School she overcame a competition of seven hundred people for a place in Konstantin Raikin’s course. But at that time, Dana did not yet have a school certificate, and at this point the doors should have closed in front of her. But Oleg Tabakov himself stood up for Dana. He promised to take her on the course after passing her final exams at school. It only took Dana a year to pass them externally and receive a matriculation certificate. Oleg Pavlovich fulfilled his promise, and she entered the Moscow Art Theater.
But circumstances were such that Dana studied at the Studio School for only a year. It wasn’t easy for the girl in the capital. “Huge Moscow became stressful for me,” Dana recalls. “I turned out to be mentally unprepared to live and study on my own in a metropolis.” She returned to Riga. And a year later she entered the St. Petersburg State Academy of Theater Arts, in the workshop of Yuri Krasovsky, from which she graduated in 2012.
