Biography
The artist became famous not long ago, so many fans are interested in how old the charismatic rock singer is, what her hobbies are and how she spends her free time. The future star was born in Riga in 1996, on September 3. Dana spent her childhood and youth in Latvia. Here the girl enthusiastically studied music and attended music school from the age of 6. She studied piano. From an early age, Sokolova became a regular at various vocal competitions. I was seriously interested in poetry. He still admires the work of Joseph Brodsky and Anna Akhmatova.
Dana took her first steps to fame at the age of 9, when she took part in the “Discovering Talents” competition, organized by the charitable foundation of the composer Khvoinitsky. After this, the girl repeatedly shone on the stages of various festivals. The most successful for the young singer was the competition for young performers “Baltic Transit”, held in 2009. At the age of 14, Dana was already performing at various events and even in clubs, performing famous musical compositions in a new way.
It is worth noting that despite being very busy in musical creativity, the girl studied well at school. After receiving the certificate, I entered college in the pop-jazz vocal department. After graduating from college, she passed the entrance examination and was enrolled in the Latvian ISMA University. Here the girl began to learn the basics of business management.
At the age of 19, the student published her first collection of poems of her own composition, entitled “Zukus”. The book caused a lot of response among critics and ordinary readers. The talented poetess began to be invited to literary readings, including in Russia. This was a significant event in Dana’s life that occurred in 2020. Later that year, the start of the high-profile musical project “Young Blood” was announced. From the moment a girl participates in the casting, productive career growth begins.
As for the singer’s character, despite her flashy image and performance of rock works, she is an introvert by nature. Loves silence, solitude and tranquility. The girl loves reading and often rereads poems by famous poets to gain inspiration. Loneliness is an opportunity to create a new composition, and not a reason for boredom.
Dana doesn't like clutter and says she prefers to work in a neat, clean room. Cooking is a process that the singer avoids whenever possible. Perhaps that is why the girl’s figure can be envied. With a height of 160 cm, she weighs 50 kg

Dana was born in a sunny and warm country - Latvia. She was brought up in an intelligent family. Since childhood, the girl loved to sing and perform in front of audiences. The parents supported this desire of their daughter and enrolled her in a music school.
There Sokolova studied piano, but this was not enough for the active and purposeful Dana. So, she entered the conservatory, where she studied the intricacies of pop-jazz vocals.
Personal life
The artist has a daring, slightly defiant image. The singer appears on stage with either a very short haircut, like a hedgehog, or no hair at all. At the same time, she emphasizes her facial features with bright makeup. The girl's body is decorated with tattoos. Dana pinned a red pepper on her neck in memory of her debut collection of poems. Also on different parts of the body you can see philosophical statements; the motto on the wrist says that she was born to win. The body also has an image of a falcon and arrow.
With such an extraordinary appearance, the girl often becomes the object of close attention from men. The star herself does not comment on her personal life, preferring to keep some facts from her own biography secret. On Instagram, the artist posts photographs related to her creativity and work. Although in some photographs Dana is captured together with a certain Ted. Presumably, young people are connected by tender feelings.
The girl was more than once credited with having affairs with other popular performers: Scrooge, Misha Marvin. However, Dana did not confirm this information in any way, preferring to remain silent. The only thing known for certain is that the artist does not have a husband or children.
What did Dana do with her hair?
In 2020, immediately after publishing a collection of poems, Dana shaved her head and posted a photo of her new look on Instagram. The reason for this was the girl’s elementary passion for esotericism, so the artist called the procedure of getting rid of hair zeroing. In one of the interviews, Dana stated that she had no desire to express any protest or shock the public, she simply felt freer without hair. In this image, Sokolova participated in the show “Young Blood”; perhaps the bold image became an advantage over other contestants.
Sokolova's songs and participation in projects
Participating in the first show, Dana withstood the competition of 2,500 talented performers and became one of the trio of finalists, with whom a cooperation contract with Black Star was signed. Along with Sokolova, Klava Koka and Scrooge were among the three lucky ones. Dana became the first musician working in the rock direction with whom the famous label signed an agreement.
In 2020, the singer took part in the recording of a video clip together with Mot, Scrooge and the founding leader of the label Timati. Spring 2016 brought success in the form of debut solo compositions “Only Forward” and “Spread the Sky”. An original video was also shot for the latter.
2020 turned out to be a productive year for Dana. Then she recorded a duet with Scrooge, the video for which was viewed by about 5 million people in six months. The song was called “Indigo”, the video was directed by Andrzej Gawrysh, a friend of the artist. The plot reflects the difficult life of special people in the modern world. The artist’s video impresses with its deep meaning.
Another composition by Sokolova, “Strela,” was chosen as the soundtrack to the television show “Boys,” shown on the Pyatnitsa channel. The girl even attended one of the episodes of the program as an invited guest. Speaking to the participants, Dana spoke candidly about her personal struggle with the people around her in childhood and adolescence, what it was like to feel like a “black sheep,” and how to cope with emotions.
In the same year, the girl took part in the Urban Culture Festival at Stadium Live, and then went on tour to Russian cities and CIS countries. At the end of 2020, the singer presented a new program “Myslepad”, which she successfully demonstrated in several cities of Russia, performing at a concert.
The singer's discography is not too rich yet. Only in 2020, the girl released her first full-length album, which was called “Thoughtfall”. This included old tracks, as well as the song “Voice” recorded together with rapper L'One. The premiere of the composition “From a White Slate” also took place. And again, a clip with a simple but deep meaning is popular, gaining a lot of views.
Dana Sokolova, whose biography is so interesting, is in demand and popular today. She performs in a musical group, which she called “Dana Sokolova”. The musicians successfully tour throughout Russia. The singer continues to write poetry, which draws even more attention to her own person. A bright and daring image is very close to modern youth, and the philosophical content of musical compositions has always been in value. The girl is only 22 years old, I believe that with age she will not lose her uniqueness and will continue to delight fans with her creativity.
Ex-soloist of “Na-Na” Pavel Sokolov told why his wives became friends and dance on the same stage
The ex-soloist of the Na-Na group told TN about his relationship with former producer Bari Alibasov, as well as what his daughters are going to become and what his first and third wives are plotting against him.
— My creative life has been quite interesting and varied.
In 1991 he joined the Na-Na group as a dancer, and 6 years later he became a soloist. In 2007 he went on an independent voyage. — Does what they say and write about you “ex-Na-Na” help you in life or hinder you?
“I left the group like any person who leaves home, from family—it’s not easy. But now, after the passage of time, I feel like a prodigal son who kicked up, left, but after some time realized that he was not right in everything. As a result, I am one of the few former soloists who managed to maintain a relationship with Bari. I can't say that he forgave me. But I understood, I accepted.
I communicate well with all the guys - both the old team and the new one. They are doing well now, they travel and work a lot. Do I like being associated with the group? Sometimes yes. It’s flattering, after all, “Na-Na” is a group of historical proportions, and I’m glad that I’m involved in this story. But it happens that it’s annoying, because the fans of the group continue to consider me a kind of cheerful rogue, nicknamed Pasha the Sun, mindlessly jumping around the stage. But I still have changed over so many years.
Yes, I can be cheerful and carefree, but I also have other sides. I have become tougher, after all, I have 10 years of solo work behind me. He has matured. And when they expect me to jump and categorically do not want to accept anything else, it’s sad. I increasingly want to see my first and last name on posters. Without the word “ex-“Na-Na”. But I am grateful to the group for everything.
With his wife Victoria and daughters Alina and Sofia
, “Na-Na” is unique in the number of rumors that circulated among the people.
They told you all kinds of horrors about your relationship with Bari Alibasov... - Since I finally managed to leave him and he returned my passport, I’ll tell you the whole truth. (Laughs.)
Seriously, the rumors were much more varied than the reality. Prohibitions, of course, existed - as in any job. But the relationship was trusting.
The most persistent gossip was that we were not allowed to get married. This is complete nonsense. Bari never interfered in our personal lives - he was only concerned about creativity. “I’m not interested in what’s in your family, but you have to be in the office or at rehearsal at a certain time. Tired? Conflict with your wife? Didn't get enough sleep? It's not my business. Work comes first,” he said. And since there was always a lot of work, there was simply no time left for personal life. We could fly to Moscow from a tour at six in the morning, and he would immediately call and very politely remind us that he was waiting for us at rehearsal at nine in the morning. By the way, if my wives answered the phone, I called them by name. He told reporters that he didn’t know them. He knew everyone very well and was invariably polite and correct.
— How were things going with your personal life on tour?
There were rumors about your parties with strong drinks and an abundance of fans... - Alcohol was strictly prohibited. Although, of course, there were breakdowns, but they were punished for them. And as for the fans - you know, it’s different for everyone... Some of the guys managed to quickly “rest” even during breaks between songs. And some did not welcome touring entertainment because they were waiting at home for their wives. While still a dancer, I read a lot of books about rock bands (The Rolling Stones, Red Hot Chili Peppers and other luminaries), and was amazed at their hectic life on tour. How they came to their room after the concert, and there were already naked girls waiting for them, sitting in the closets, on the beds. I didn’t believe that this could happen, I thought it was a fairy tale. And when I became a soloist, I saw everything with my own eyes. It was crazy! A real “Na-Na” mania.
I remember how our fans fought with the fans of “Ivanushki”. Sochi fans of Andrei Grigoriev-Appolonov were especially fierce. It came to blood. But the guys from “Ivanushki” and I communicated well, were friends and tried to reconcile our fans. They organized, as they say now, flash mobs to show: “Hey, girls, we are friends, and don’t fight.”
We were always followed by the most devoted ones - five girls who ended up everywhere we went. We get on the train - they are in the next compartment. They sit, are silent, do not talk to us, do not interfere. But always nearby. Once we were touring the north of Russia, and the city of Yamburg was waiting for us. A helicopter from Surgut flew there once a week, and there was no other transport. And what do you think? We unload from the helicopter, and they are already there. In Yamburg. How did they get there? How did you even find out about our plans? I would understand if this happened now, in the era of social networks, when any movement of an artist around the country instantly becomes known to all his fans. But then?!
Of course, with such devotion, readiness to follow your idol everywhere, anything could happen in the dressing rooms between songs. Especially when you are 25 years old and still don’t understand much. In any case, that’s exactly what I was at that age, completely crazy.
Both of Pavel’s wives—his ex, Natalya, and his current one, Victoria—dance in his ballet.
“You had a truly heavenly life in your group.”
Why did you leave? — This happened after we arrived from America. The group lived there for more than a year, a lot was done, but we decided to return. We started preparing a new program “Shock Show”. And at that time I became friends with Marina Migulya, the wife of Vladimir Migulya, and on her advice I recorded the song “Talk to me, Mom” - the same one performed by Valentina Tolkunova. I did pretty well. I recorded it coolly, and even Bari said: “You’re great!” And here my ambitions ran out of me, I wanted to do something myself.
I began recording solo songs on the sly from Alibasov. Naturally, he didn't like it. In a collective one had to live according to the rules of the collective. And I was already carried away. I had just met my second wife, and since she was a lawyer, and a very active one at that, she began to encourage me: “Come on, do something on your own.” She was ready to support me and help me legally. Yes, and I’m tired of being in a team.
Gradually he began to skimp on his responsibilities in the group, did not go on one tour, then on another. Most of all, I let the guys down by not going with them to China, where they had a serious concert. Now, after the passage of time, I understand that it is impossible to do this, I need to leave as a human being.
