Eduard Gennadievich Matsaberidze (better known in humorous circles as Bruiser Ed) was born in May 1982 in a city called Gagry (Abkhazia), Georgian SSR. The artist does not consider nationality an important element of modern life that should be emphasized. The artist first appeared on stage in 2000 as part of the Tm-tv university team. Edward played a plastic surgeon named Tigran.
Viewers liked not only the unpredictable plot, but also the frank love scenes that abounded in the series. Matsaberidze also had a chance to participate in them. He later admitted that his wife was quite jealous of such filming. After all, his lover in the series was the beautiful Anastasia Meskova, a Russian ballerina. And then I came across a smart therapist, who, seeing my swollen neck, and my swollen face on it, made a sad face and sent me for an x-ray, because he knew what lymphoma was, but I didn’t yet.

Doctors diagnosed the presenter with a tumor the size of a grapefruit. The artist admitted that he was crushed by this news and thought it was the end.
I don’t remember how I got to the car, I remember that I was sitting in it alone (I sent my wife to the pharmacy for something) and just went hysterical. It couldn't be called crying, it was hysterical! Snot bubbles, everything is like in a cheap TV series about snot bubbles. At that moment, I did not see any light and was sure that I was finished, largely thanks to the laboratory assistant who handed us an x-ray with the words: “Well, at least try.” He did this on Friday at 6 pm, when everything and everyone was closed for the weekend. He left us with these thoughts for two days! It was the longest weekend of my life. Although, to be honest, now I am not at all angry with that person, because after what he told us, the subsequent news from the doctors seemed purely positive to us.

According to Matsaberidze, doctors treated him for sinusitis for a long time, but the man did not get better. Only one experienced therapist doubted the diagnosis, which made it possible to identify a tumor the size of a grapefruit. Edward did not hide the fact that at first he was scared. According to him, he was “hysterical” just like the actors in cheap TV series.
After the second course of chemotherapy, the TV presenter’s appearance changed. First of all, he went bald. Although he jokes that out of habit he washes his hair with shampoo and even blow-dries it. In one of the posts he said that hair had even fallen out from his nose. Secondly, he lost a lot of weight.
In early June, Matsaberidze completed his third course of chemotherapy. The TV presenter admits that this is not a pleasant feeling. Plus, after stopping one of the drugs, he began to experience withdrawal symptoms. My joints hurt, I feel hot and cold. He calls “chemistry” a test of old age. It makes a person inactive, there is no strength in the muscles, the legs give way when walking, and 2 km a day is already an achievement. Vision and memory have deteriorated. However, after the third chemotherapy, doctors noted positive dynamics. And at the end of June the fourth course began.
After the fifth chemotherapy, Edward's eyelashes and eyebrows fell out. The actor said that he never expected them to be so important to a person. Now the eyes dry out, and more often something gets into them. The man also said that now his acquaintances rarely recognize him - without hair and beard, and even weighing 14 kg less.
In August, Matsaberidze completed his sixth course of chemotherapy. And in September 2020 he informed subscribers that he was now officially recognized as disabled.
