She loved to dance and perform. My mother soon noticed this and suggested that her daughter go to a choreographic school. In 1984, the girl entered the folk dance department, which she graduated with honors.

Theater career

Mikhail Bagdasarov, personal

In 1979, actor Bagdasarov began working at the Obraztsov Puppet Theater. But soon he returns to the Theater Studio on Krasnaya Presnya. On the stage of this theater, Mikhail Bagdasarov, whose biography is eventful, played in many performances. This is the role of Count Turgenev in the theatrical production “I came to give you freedom” and others.

But a year later, Mikhail Sergeevich moved to the Sphere Theater Studio. It is known that, since 1988, he has been performing as part of the troupe of Oleg Tabakov’s theater studio. He also successfully participated in the musicals of the cabaret theater “The Bat”.

But still, viewers began to recognize him after he starred in an advertisement for Invite dry juices in the nineties, where he said only one phrase about adding water.

Joint performance of Karina and Artur Bagdasarov

One of the performances of the famous trainers almost ended in tragedy. Karina and Arthur performed a number with the participation of ten tigers. The performers finished their performance; they had only two tricks left to perform.

Arthur approached the tiger named Caesar too quickly to push him towards the others with a stick. The tiger got scared and grabbed Arthur's hand with its paw, then crushed him and squeezed the trainer's head with his teeth.

Behind the scenes was the father, Mikhail Bagdasarov. He didn’t think for a second, he immediately jumped out and began firing his pistol into the air. Eventually the tiger let Arthur go.

He was immediately taken to Sklifosovsky Hospital, where more than 100 stitches were placed on his head. The body was completely covered with wounds from teeth and claws, but, fortunately, neither nerves nor tendons were damaged, and Arthur was not left disabled.

Karina Bagdasarova, who loves her brother and is madly worried about him, did not leave him for a second. She was with him all the time in the clinic and tried not to leave Arthur for a long time.

Personal life of Karina

Karina Bagdasarova met her love in the circus - she married the famous circus magician Anton Krasilnikov.

Sometimes the famous couple performed together, Karina tried to help her husband in his performances. Moreover, she admits that with tigers in the arena it’s not as scary as in some of her husband’s rooms. It happened that the magician's wife fell from a height during rehearsals. Anton Krasilnikov says that he certainly won’t be able to find a more faithful and reliable actress for his numbers anywhere.

The couple had a son, who was named Nikita. Together with his mother, he went on tour from the age of three months.

Despite the tender feelings, after twelve years of marriage the couple broke up. Karina also met her second love in the arena. At the “Circus with the Stars” project she met acrobat Denis Kozyr. He courted her for a long time, and eventually melted the trainer’s heart.

A little about Karina and her family

Karina admits that her and her brother’s childhood was not the easiest, but interesting. They almost all the time did not get out of the circus, which seemed to them like a fairy tale kingdom. They loved to climb around the back streets, hide in animal enclosures, and hear about terrible incidents in the arena. The children were with their parents almost all the time and toured with them.

Parents almost never took their children to social events, since Arthur and Karina had bad personalities. For example, a girl could calmly pick her nose in the presence of other people, but Arthur always ran around with his pants half-down.

Karina Bagdasarova biography

Karina Bagdasarova admits that she has a complex character; sometimes she cannot control herself. Only her husband Denis Kozyr can do this, who not only pacifies his beloved wife, but also understands her.

Cities that evoke pleasant feelings in Karina: Nizhny Novgorod, because she was born there, Yekaterinburg, where she was on tour with her parents as a child, Saratov, where Denis’s parents live. And, of course, Moscow, which is as “mad” as Karina herself.

Blog

Since 2004, Sofya Bagdasarova has been running the “Blog of a Mischievous Art Historian” on Live Journal (shakko-kitsune.livejournal.com). The blog became widely known in 2020; its first popular column was “Disgusting Art Criticism”:

I write about those topics in art that are rarely discussed in serious publications. However, in the West they have long been included in the scientific sphere (for example, one can recall Umberto Eco’s “History of Ugliness”), but in our country it is still poor with this. But people are interested in everything unusual! Thus, I came up with the column “Hateful Art Criticism” (named after Tarantino’s “The Hateful Eight”). In it I began to publish all sorts of shocking things, terrifying works of art - and not modern ones, but exclusively classics. The first large stream of readers, it seems to me, was attracted by these very stories, and then they began to read other, more “calm” entries[1].

— Sofia Bagdasarova

Then the column “Questions about art” gained considerable popularity:

When I realized that I had a fairly large regular audience that was not averse to learning about more serious things, I came up with the column “Questions about art.” Readers who are not art professionals send her questions, and the simpler and more unexpected they are, the more interesting it is to answer them. The very formulation of the question allows for an unusual answer. This is how the post-response “Why is Shilov a bad artist and Bryullov a good one, are they similar?” Today this is my most popular text, about 400 thousand views. Compared to YouTube records, of course, this is a small thing, but for materials about painting this is very great. Or “Tell me, what is “contemporary art”? Just in a few words, please” and “Why is Repin cheaper than Malevich and Kandinsky?” This is, in theory, impossible to answer seriously, but in the end some fundamental principles are revealed[1].

— Sofia Bagdasarova

At the end of 2020, Sofia Bagdasarova’s blog, with a traffic of 40-50 thousand views per day (5-6th place in the overall top LiveJournal), was awarded the NeForum Awards in the “Best Longread” category[1].

"Disgusting Art"

A reproduction of Paolo Veronese’s painting “Leda and the Swan” was used for the cover of Sofia Bagdasarova’s book “Disgusting Art.”
After the success of the blog, representatives of the Eksmo publishing house approached Sofia Bagdasarova with a proposal to write a book. Sofia reworked and adapted some of the blog materials for printing, and about half of its volume consisted of new texts. The guideline for the author was the style of “General History, processed by Satyricon,” written by Teffi, Arkady Averchenko and other classics of Russian humorous prose of the early 20th century. Bagdasarova’s book retells ancient Greek myths about cannibals, transvestites, and husband-killers in a humorous, modernized way. The publication is equipped with color reproductions of Rubens, Michelangelo, the Pre-Raphaelites and other artists on relevant topics, as well as serious scientific comments.

Disgusting Art became a bestseller, but received mixed reviews from readers and critics. Commentators noted an unexpected discrepancy between the impressions of Sofia’s texts published on the Internet and on paper, as well as a compromise in the processing of the material, when sharp and relevant jokes from the blog were replaced with “bearded” puns.

Literary critic Konstantin Milchin stated that Sofia Bagdasarova’s book is “an Amikoshonian retelling of ancient Greek mythology in the style of the Full House program,” while admitting that “the author of the book is actually a really cool educator: she maintains an excellent blog on LiveJournal, where she competently and talks about painting in a truly witty manner.”[2]. Chief editor of the portal God.Literature.rf Mikhail Vizel o[3][4].

Reviewer Vladimir Bogdanov is more favorable:

This is a story about ancient myths and customs based on the examples of subjects of European artists. It is written dashingly, without academic drudgery. In terms of genre, this is not a scientific monograph, but rather art fables, pure fun, “scandals-intrigues-investigations” from the time of Odysseus... Only for the uninitiated person the plots of some paintings are simply pastoral, peace and grace. But if you dig a little into mythology, everything comes out at once: ruthlessness, unprincipledness, cruelty, deceit and shamelessness. There's nothing new under the sun. All this abomination, as it turns out, was invented long before us[5].

— Vladimir Bogdanov

Writers Alexander Arkhangelsky and Alexander Gavrilov included the book “Disgusting Art” in the “long list” of candidates for the “Enlightenment” prize for 2020[6]. Gavrilov justified this inclusion, finding in the reduced presentation of the material the main significance of the book [7]:

What happens in this book is perhaps incomprehensible and imperceptible to many readers. In fact, in modern Russian literature there is no canon of colloquial speech written down on paper. If you just decipher what the street sounds like, it’s impossible to read. The formation of this canon began quite late, at the end of the sixties; The only significant achievement of the Soviet era is, perhaps, Dovlatov, then some other people appear; at the beginning of his work, Grishkovets worked interestingly with this. And to me what is done in this book is especially interesting from a literary point of view. It seems to me that this is a very bright and significant application for a new language.

Strictly speaking, the very design of the popular science book was initially very close to what Sophia does. Because any popular book about science should be told in a language that will be absolutely transparent to a person who has not spent twenty years preparing to read this book. Unfortunately, scientists themselves forgot how to do this quite a long time ago.

— Alexander Gavrilov

However, Sofia Bagdasarova’s book was not included in the “short list” of the prize[8].

"Apocalypse in Art"

In October 2020, the Bombora branch of the Eksmo publishing house published Sofia Bagdasarova’s second book, “Apocalypse in Art. Journey to Armageddon."

The publication is the complete text of “The Revelation of John the Theologian” (“Apocalypse”), equipped with a large number of color reproductions of works by past artists, illustrating the text as fully as possible[9].

Firstly, I will immediately reassure those who are afraid of frivolities on the topic of Christianity - there is no humor in it! Of my signature qualities, I used others here - everything is very simple and clear, the level of explanation is “for a Soviet high school student,” for a representative of the technical intelligentsia. That is, for an intelligent person who sincerely wants to understand the complex, but is afraid to delve into the jungle.

The idea of the publication was born from a phrase from art critics about the uniqueness of “Apocalypse”: it is “the only book of the Bible in which every line, or at least paragraph,” is illustrated. So here it is, the “Revelation of John the Theologian,” in which every line or at least paragraph is truly illustrated! In fact, a “graphic novel” was released (it’s like a “comic book”, only for intellectuals), or a huge hagiographic icon with two hundred stamps, sequentially illustrating the development of the events of the End of the World.

— Sofia Bagdasarova

Rossiyskaya Gazeta noted the presentation of the book among the most interesting events of the Non/Fiction-2018 fair[10], Elle-Girl magazine included the book in the list of “10 smart non-fiction books for serious girls”[11].

"Thieves, vandals and idiots"

In September 2020, the Bombora branch of the Eksmo publishing house published Sofia Bagdasarova’s third book, “Thieves, Vandals and Idiots: A Criminal History of Russian Art”

. In the book, the author talks about the most interesting crimes committed in Russian museums and about [12]. The book is the first chronicle of crimes in the field of art committed specifically in Russia.

According to the Gorky review, “the author does not focus too much on the motives and psychological nuances of the criminals, limiting himself to a playfully satirical, in the spirit of Zoshchenko’s lo-fi, description of what happened. The level of entertainment is increased by art dealer stories placed between the main stories. The layout of the publication is also curious - it successfully mimics popular science books for teenagers of the late 1980s.”

[13].
The auction portal Artinvestment.ru recommends it to novice collectors as an inoculation against gullibility[14]. The Village included the book in a selection of recent “novels about life in modern Russia,” describing it as “a book of Spanish shame”: when reading the book, “...shame for your compatriots is felt directly physically”
[15].
According to the reviewer of the Rossiyskaya Gazeta: “a dashing read, educational and entertaining at the same time”
[16].
The portal Godliterature.rf writes: “You will laugh loudly and boisterously.
Humor itself for this book is no less important a category than art, so be prepared for scientific and entertainment eclecticism ,” and indicates that the amount of black humor has decreased compared to the first book[17].

The book was presented at the Moscow Book Fair 2019; a number of publications included it among the most interesting books of the festival[18][19][20][21][22][16][23][24][25]. Satirical illustrations made by artist Maria Ponomareva specifically for this book were compared to Bidstrup[17][21].

A few months later, the book was presented at the Non/Fiction fair, the organizers of which included it in their top list[26]. A number of publications also included it in the list of books worth buying at the fair, as well as the presentation itself among the most interesting events[27][28][29][30][31]. Later, the publication "Dog" included the book in the list of 35 best books of the year.[32]
