Childhood and youth
Katya was born in Donetsk into a family of dancers, but in the first weeks after her birth she was transported to Sevastopol, since in this Crimean city her parents were members of the Song and Dance Ensemble of the Black Sea Fleet of the Russian Federation.
The girl's childhood was spent behind the scenes of theaters. She absorbed the concept of a creative profession as a little girl and did not see any other path other than to be an artist. At first, Ekaterina planned to follow in the footsteps of her mother and father, but because of her “non-ballet” build, she was not accepted into the choreographic school.

Actress Ekaterina Kopanova
However, Kopanova was not upset, she entered a specialized class with a theatrical bias, and by the end of school she was firmly convinced of the idea of becoming an actress. In her senior year, in order to raise money for a trip to Moscow, Ekaterina worked as a waitress at the local Tavern restaurant.
In 2001, the girl came to the capital of Russia, applied to all universities with an acting major, and ended up at the Boris Shchukin Theater Institute, where Vladimir Poklazov was taking a course. Moreover, it so happened that in his workshop there were only representatives of neighboring countries - applicants from Ukraine, Belarus, and the Baltic states.

Ekaterina Kopanova
Ekaterina’s acting career had a hard start. During her student years, Kopanova had to constantly struggle with excess weight: Poklazov insisted that she go on some kind of diet. The situation was aggravated by the fact that the girl began acting in films, and there, on the contrary, they demanded that she get better.
Such changes had a bad effect on health, so the artist stopped trying to change her body. Oddly enough, having stopped losing weight, Kopanova brought her figure back to normal and now tries not to go beyond 45 kg with a height of 158 cm. The first thing that catches your eye in Ekaterina’s appearance is her freckles. She is even happy about this feature:
“All my relatives on my mother’s side are marked by the sun. After all, freckles form an image, a type, thanks to which you can get the main role!”
Early years, childhood and family of Ekaterina Kopanova
Ekaterina Kopanova was born in the city of Donetsk on May 26, 1985, but immediately after birth she moved with her entire family to Sevastopol.
In this place, her parents worked as artists in the musical and choreographic ensemble of the Black Sea Fleet. Therefore, our today’s heroine was familiar with the peculiarities of theatrical life from an early age. As Katya herself recalls, her entire childhood was spent behind the scenes, and therefore the choice of acting profession was not accidental for her. At first, however, Ekaterina Kopanova thought for some time about connecting her life with choreography. However, my complexion did not allow me to enter the ballet school.

Ekaterina Kopanova (still from the TV series “Torgsin”)

Ekaterina Kopanova with children
In her spare time, Ekaterina tinkers with indoor flowers, embroiders, or the whole family goes on a trip. Kopanova has no problems with so many children; if necessary, dad or grandmother will sit with them. No nannies:
“I gave birth to children for myself, and not for the nanny. I don’t want to give a stranger the happiness that was created for me. For me, family and relatives will always come first. If you devote yourself to touring, theater or filming, you can miss a lot, but I don’t want to.”
Detectives Natalia Alexandrova
The heroines of the detective story “Murder for Three” - friends Irina, Zhanna and Katya - by the will of fate find themselves in a situation where only their female brains can unravel a strange crime. One of the main roles, the good-natured, sweet and trusting Katya, is played by Ekaterina Kopanova. It turns out that for the role the actress had to gain 18 kilograms and pick up her brushes.
– Ekaterina, you haven’t acted in detective stories before. Was it comfortable in the new genre?
– It seems to me that our story is not a detective story or even an ironic detective story, but a comedy. Such funny dialogues and situations could only happen with these three crazy friends. The proposed circumstances are such that the heroines look very funny. I’ve been playing characters like my Katya for ten years now, so I felt very comfortable. The costume designers created a very cute look with the dresses and jewelry that I like. Besides, my heroine draws. She has a workshop, everything is in paints and canvases...
– Did you have to learn the basics of drawing?
– I took painting and academic drawing lessons for a long time, and drew from time to time, but for me this process is a little boring. But on the set of the film I enjoyed drawing in the frame. It wasn’t difficult, because my Katya paints very strange pictures.
– In the films “Waiting for a Miracle” and “Cream”, where you played cute chubby girls, all sorts of extensions were attached to you to give them shape. Was this story also thickened?
– My heroine has an extra 18 kilograms, but this time talented costume designers only added weight and volume to me with the help of clothes. Well, and also chocolate, which I had to eat in huge quantities...
- That is?
– My heroine Katya loves sweets and constantly chews something. So, in the first story - “Murder for Three” - she leans on chocolate. When they filmed the scene where she swallows him, an assistant was on duty on set with a huge cup of tea. For the first few takes, I diligently chewed and swallowed the chocolate, and then everything went by force. Tea came to the rescue. In the second film - “Marathon for the Three Graces” - Katya will eat cakes. They were very tasty indeed! Details such as eating sweets complement the image of my cozy and warm heroine.
– It turns out that you are ready to do a lot for the sake of work?
– For me, family and relatives will always come first.
– Your husband Pavel always tries to come to the set. Did I manage to get through to you this time?
– We were filming a film in St. Petersburg, and Pavel and his eldest daughter Lisa came to me, we just walked around the city.
– Was your youngest daughter with you or was she left with a nanny?
– Zlate was with me all the time. I gave birth to children for myself, not for a nanny. I don’t want to give a stranger the happiness that was created for me. If you devote yourself to touring, theater or filming, you can miss a lot, but I don’t want to.
– Your husband is a lawyer, you are an actress. Arguments arise between you about what the girls will become when they grow up?
– Now they like dancing and singing. We don’t know who they will become, but we will approve any of their choices. We will not make decisions for them, so as not to ruin their lives.

The set of the comedy film “Dawn on Mount Adam” again brought Katya together with Stanislav Bondarenko. And again, the main characters are three friends, united by one goal: to meet the dawn in Sri Lanka in a mysterious place, because then wishes will come true.
The creative duo Bondarenko-Kopanov is also present in the cast of the melodrama “Big Sky”, which tells about the life of fellow pilots, the crew commander and his subordinate. One is a lover of adrenaline and women, the other is a bore and a pedant.
Ekaterina Kopanova, husband
The actress's popularity was brought to her by the roles she played in the TV series "Waiting for a Miracle", "Cream" and "Toy", and before that she had already starred in several small episodes of the television series "Love Like Love" and "Union Without Sex". But the future husband of Ekaterina Kopanova , despite her popularity, did not even realize that the girl who approached him on the street was an actress. At that time, Pavel Palkin served in Sevastopol, where Katya came to film the film “Mines in the Fairway.” She, like a girl of no timid nature, noticed during a walk during a break between filming a handsome sailor with kind eyes, without a word she approached him and handed him a note with her phone number, which puzzled the boy a lot.

However, a few days later Pavel called, they agreed on a date, and a few months later they got married. Ekaterina Kopanova’s husband comes from the Oryol region, so we can say that their meeting was more than accidental. As Pavel later admitted, Katya’s action when they first met put him in a state of shock, and, intrigued by the girl’s courage, he simply could not help but call her.

They spend weekends together - when they can, they like to sit in a cafe. The actress is not averse to pampering her husband with her own delicious dishes - she will never allow her beloved husband to have nothing to eat. Despite the fact that Katya loves her job, family always takes the main place in her life.
Now the actress continues to act, and one of her last works was the role of the milkmaid Olya in the series “Features of the National Minibus.” Despite the fact that Ekaterina Kopanova, for the most part, gets supporting roles, she always creates memorable images, and viewers recognize her characters. Her role is kind, sincere heroines who live in anticipation of happiness, and the actress likes to work on such images, but she would not like to play negative characters. Katya is sure that you always need to be natural and positive, only in this case you can achieve success.
