To become the author of songs that the whole country sings, an honored artist at 30 and a national artist at 35, to take 2nd place at Eurovision - such success falls to the lot of few. The public's favorite was not born with a golden spoon in his mouth, but created his own destiny, although the conditions were not the most favorable. Perhaps Andrei Danilko’s personal life has not yet worked out because his family was not very prosperous.

Mother, Svetlana Volkova, some time after her divorce from her first husband, married driver Mikhail Danilko. On October 2, 1973, their son Andrei was born, and in 1980 Mikhail died of cancer. Danilko Andrey Mikhailovich was born on October 2, 1973 in Poltava. His parents are simple people. His father worked as a driver; he died early when little Andrei reached the age of seven. Then the upbringing of the future musician fell on his mother Svetlana Volkova, who worked as a painter at a factory. Since childhood, Andrei Danilko saw himself in creativity. He went to art school, played in the KVN team and was even a leader there, did not shy away from the stage and played wherever he was.

Studying at school was not very good for Danilko; he was more attracted to creativity. At school, he liked Anna Serdyuk, an excellent student from an intelligent family; she did not pay attention to a simple guy, whom the whole class wore for his graduation dress.

One day Andrei Danilko promised Anna Serdyuk that he would glorify her name. She didn't take the guy's words seriously, but he kept them. The girl's fate was less exciting: she got married, gave birth to a child and works as a teacher at school.

When Andrei Danilko graduated from school, he already knew for sure that he could not imagine his future life without music. At first he entered the Poltava Music School, but did not pass the competition. Then I decided to go to a pedagogical institute, but there were problems with the Ukrainian language. After that, he had to study at a local vocational school. Then there were two more attempts to get into a music school, but unsuccessful. Then he entered the Kiev Variety and Circus School in the conversation department, but dropped out after a year and a half of study. As a result, he ended up at the Kiev Institute of Culture and Art, but was expelled in his fourth year.

Even while studying at a vocational school, Andrei Danilko often performed on stage, looking for images in which he could best express himself. One day he went on stage and copied a local saleswoman so well that no one thought that the performer was not a woman. In 1993, he introduced the boorish and never-dull woman Verka Serduchka, who, with her simplicity and a certain shamelessness, captivated everyone and made Andrei Danilko famous. The heroine with outstanding forms could not boast of modesty, but her sarcastic humor immediately appealed to the audience.

Soon Verka Serduchka began to be invited to various shows. And in 1997, the SV-show appeared on Ukrainian television, where the conductor Verka shone in the main role. Together with Andrei Danilko, Verka Seryudchka’s mother (Inna Belokon) and the silent Gelya (Olga Litskevich and Radmila Shchegoleva) also took part in the show. The SV show involved a lot of improvisation, which gave the guy the opportunity to show all his talents and make Verka Serduchka a people's favorite.

Later, the rights to broadcast the show were bought in Russia, and Verka Serduchka became popular outside of Ukraine. She was no longer just a conductor. Perky songs, participation in popular New Year's musicals, performances on big stages in different countries instantly made her a popular artist and received numerous awards. At one time, Andrei Danilko tried to move away from the role of Verka Serduchka and released the album “Doremi doredo” under his own name, which included lyrical compositions and ballads, but it did not become popular.
