Biography
Elvira Bolgova comes from the capital. She grew up in a family that had nothing to do with theater and cinema. Her father was an agronomist, her mother a doctor. The actress says about herself: “I am a Muscovite. True, in the first generation. My parents moved to Moscow. Dad is from the Voronezh region, and mother is from the Krasnodar Territory. She is now retired, having worked as a nurse all her life.
I also have a sister, Natasha, who, by the way, also graduated from the theater institute, played in the Nizhny Novgorod theater, but then she had to give up everything - after her father’s death, she supported our entire family. It was a difficult time after perestroika, if you remember. So my sister was forced to go first to a sewing studio, then to realtors.” In addition to her sister, Elvira has an older brother, Igor, who devoted himself to another creative profession - photography.
During her school years, Elya enjoyed doing gymnastics. And in the eighth grade, the “Young Muscovites Theater” at the Palace of Pioneers appeared in her life, on the stage of which such famous artists as Sergei Nikonenko, Natalya Gundareva, Olga Kabo, Victoria Tolstoganova took their first steps.
Elvira’s choice of future profession was influenced by Tyumen University and, of course, her sister: “Since childhood, looking at her, I saw that those who do what they love are truly happy. Natalya took me, still very little, to shows and rehearsals. The theater was a shock and a miracle for me. I felt that real life, full of strong and vivid emotions, was only possible on stage.”
On her first attempt, Bolgova managed to enter the Higher Theater School named after M. S. Shchepkin, where she studied in the workshop of People's Artist of the USSR Viktor Ivanovich Korshunov. Her classmates were Marat Basharov, Egor Barinov, Alexander Karpenko.
The artist recalled about her student days: “Oh, it was a fun period. Our course was considered very friendly. Young guys, most of them right after school, every day we discovered something new and useful for ourselves. Communication with master teachers, creative assignments, interesting meetings - everything captivated us.”
Childhood and adolescence
Elvira Bolgova was born at the end of December 1975 in a family where her parents had nothing to do with art. The hometown of the now popular actress is Moscow. The girl's father was an agronomist, her mother a doctor. The girl’s unusual name has always raised many questions regarding the actress’s nationality. Elvira herself does not comment on this.
Since childhood, the girl dreamed of becoming a famous actress. School disciplines did not attract Bolgova in any way; she was not interested in a single subject. She devoted all her free time to gymnastics. After graduating from school, Elvira firmly decided that she would be an actress and submitted documents to the Shchepkinsky Theater School. Luck smiled on her; the girl was enrolled on the first try. She took a course with Viktor Korshunov, her classmates were Yegor Barinov and Marat Basharov.
Upon completion of her studies at the school, the girl received two job offers: from the Maly Theater and Satyricon. The aspiring actress preferred the second, but worked there for only a year, and then moved to serve at the Mossovet Theater. She took part in various productions until 2002. Soon, due to lack of time due to work in cinema, the actress was forced to leave the theater . From that moment on, she takes part only in enterprises.
From a very young age, the girl had an explosive character. She always argued and quarreled with everyone, without any reason. The actress still says today that she is struggling with this habit. She believes that the main thing is to hear people. In conflicts, he tries to manage without unnecessary quarrels.
Elvira considers laziness to be her biggest drawback , which her close people help overcome.
And also among Bolgova’s shortcomings she sees her dislike for housework. It is very difficult for her to force herself to do anything around the house. However, all negative traits become insignificant when they are replaced by advantages, including: spontaneity, flexible character and optimism.
Theater
After finishing Sliver, the actress was invited to work at the Maly Theater, but she preferred the Moscow Satyricon Theater, where she worked for a year. From 1997-2002, Elvira Bolgova appeared on the stage of the Mossovet Theater. Here she performed leading roles in the plays “Foma Opiskin”, “The Devil’s Disciple”, “The Cherry Orchard”, “Not Everyone is Home”.
The artist also played in the production of “Revelations of Prince Kasatsky” by director Alexander Nazarov, held at the Theater Workshop of Georgy Taratorkin. Her partners in the play were Igor Gordin, Vladimir Vdovichenkov, Nelly Uvarova, Svetlana Timofeeva-Letunovskaya.
The actress had a chance to try herself in an enterprise. Elvira worked in two productions directed by Olga Anokhina. In the play “Storm in a Teacup” she brilliantly played the role of Abigail, the niece of the Duchess of Marlborough. And in the comedy “Truffaldino” she transformed into the perky and flirtatious Smeraldina.
But the artist managed to reveal herself best, in her opinion, in the psychological thriller by Alexandra Marin: “I’m proud of my role in the play “The Postman Always Rings Twice.” Many probably remember the American film of the same name with Jack Nicholson and Jessica Lange. The topic itself is interesting: what is passion? And what is higher than passion? And how to continue the relationship if much has been destroyed? This topic is good for acting research.” In the play, Elvira played the main role of Cora, and Kirill Safonov became her partner.
In what films and TV series can you see Elvira?
The famous and sought-after actress took part in the filming of the series “Young Wolfhound”. She appeared before her fans as the beloved of the main character. The film “Pechorin: Hero of Our Time,” where she played the role of Vera, also aroused great interest among television viewers.
The year two thousand and eight for the actress was marked by her participation in the filming of the film “Street Racers”. Elvira, by nature, is no stranger to a variety of extreme entertainment, which is why the film was able to arouse her interest. Although she sees her heroine's flaw in her lack of sensuality.
Cinema
Elvira Bolgova made her film debut in 1995, playing the leading role in Elena Malikova’s short film “The Abyss” based on the story of the same name by Leonid Andreev.
"Tests for real men"
A few years later, the actress’s first major work took place in Andrei Rahenkov’s melodrama “Tests for Real Men.” And immediately a great success - the film received the main prize in the “Debut” competition at Kinotavr (1999). Elvira played her namesake, a graduate student at the Faculty of Psychology. And her partners in the frame were Alexey Serebryakov, Anna Kamenkova and Vitaly Solomin.
The plot revolves around Alexei meeting a charming girl Elya on a bus. A romance begins between the young people. True, each of them has some secret agenda, and the constant presence of Eli’s mother, Anna, greatly complicates the matter.
Both daughter and mother are trying to find the ideal man for themselves. To do this, they choose an unusual method - testing. However, it is not so easy to evaluate the test results, since they are not provided for by the compiler. In the modern world, “tests for real men” last a lifetime, and it remains to be seen what is scarier: three armed bandits on a country road or one woman with whom you need to share shelter and food. And if our world really is becoming more and more a “women’s world,” then it will be more and more difficult for a man to pass such “tests.”
Later, the artist played the lead singer of a dance ensemble in Valery Kharchenko’s series “You Can’t Choose Times.” She played the main roles in the comedy “Time is Money” by Evgeny Lungin and the melodrama “Desired” by Yuri Kuzmenko (film adaptation of Yuri Perov’s novel “The Beautiful Fat Woman”).
"Twins"
In 2004, a significant work for the actress took place, which brought her not only fame, but also important professional experience. In Zinovy Roizman’s detective series “Twins,” Elvira created three different characters at once—the twin sisters Vera and Lyuba Aksenov and Fatima.
The plot of the series is a bizarre interweaving of two events that occurred on the territory of our country in the mid-80s of the last century.
The indomitable Fatima travels through the cities of Central Asia and Russia, committing one crime after another. Prosecutor's office investigator Pyotr Yerozhin stands in her way, not yet knowing how this investigation will be closely intertwined with his own destiny.
The young captain Yerozhin, a ladies' man and a promising detective, is offered to become an unofficial KGB officer, but he refuses, ready to work better as a loader than to "snitch" on his comrades.
At the same time, in distant Samarkand, Yerozhin’s friend, police captain Vakhid Ibragimov, is not having a good family life. He dies at the hands of his own daughter, who has become an indomitable criminal.
The artist says about working in the film: “This film is very important for me, because before it there were certain things that I, as an actress, were afraid to do. It was a good learning moment, and I believe that thanks to this film I have advanced in my profession.”
The detective stars together with Elvira Bolgova: Andrei Sokolov, Alla Yuganova, Boris Khimichev, Andrei Chernyshov, Olga Pogodina, Anna Legchilova.
Viewers also remembered the actress for her leading roles in popular projects of the 2000s. This is the beautiful Lena in Rodion Nakhapetov’s comedy film “My Big Armenian Wedding”, and the mysterious Neya in Oleg Fomin’s adventure series “Young Wolfhound”, and Vera in Alexander Kott’s adaptation of the historical drama by M.Yu. Lermontov "Pechorin. Hero of our time".
At the same time, another meeting between the artist and director Evgeniy Lungin took place - in the comedy “Journey to Falling in Love.” And bright heroines were created in the action film “Officers” by Murad Aliyev, the fairy-tale film “It Doesn’t Happen” by Ivan Voytyuk, the drama “Two Colors of Passion” by Karine Foliyants based on the novels of Stendhal and the film “Once Upon a Time in the Province” by Ekaterina Shagalova.
"Hen-party"
Anna Legchilova's romantic comedy "Bachelorette Party" tells the story of four girlfriends - Katya, Vika, Lyuba and Marusa, who studied together at the Faculty of Journalism. Former classmates have been friends for fifteen years. They also have their own tradition - regularly getting together for a “bachelorette party”. Marusya was played by Elvira Bolgova in the film, her ensemble included: Lyubov Tolkalina, Natalia Kurdyubova, Elena Panova.
The artist says about her heroine: “My greatest value in our “race” mode was that I suggested not making Marusya a victim. I didn’t want to play her one-sidedly, but tried to make the heroine look as much like a real person as possible. And it often happens that the author loads a character with deliberate traits or manifestations. This is not the case in “Bachelorette”; here Marusya is an ordinary housewife.”
"First try"
In 2009, Sergei Ginzburg directed the melodrama “First Attempt” based on the story of the same name by Victoria Tokareva, in which Elvira again got one of the main roles (Mara Petrovna Alexandrova).
Plot: All her life, Mara Alexandrova has been proving to others that she is a strong and confident woman, just like the tigress after whom she was named. Not a day goes by without a struggle - for love, for understanding, for success.
However, despite this, the personal life of a strong-willed woman does not work out - the men, each taking what he needs, leave Mara. Failures in amorous affairs make Alexandrova more and more cynical and bitter. Now, after an unsuccessful marriage, in search of her happiness, she rarely thinks about whether the end justifies the means. And only a quiet, selflessly loving admirer of Dima is ready to endure the difficult character of the “Iron Lady”. But Mara doesn’t value Dima’s love at all: she loves - and let it be for herself.
Alexandrova's life changes the day she learns that she is terminally ill. Completely alone, without a penny in her pocket, at the age of 45, she looks around and sees no one nearby except her faithful admirer Dima...
The film stars: Juozas Budraitis, Andrey Kuzichev, Vladimir Zherebtsov, Olga Krasko, Maria Kulikova, Alexey Makarov, Ksenia Nepotrebnaya, Yana Poplavskaya, Marina Yakovleva.
"Island of Unnecessary People"
Edward Parry's top-rated multi-part project “The Island of Unnecessary People” added another interesting role to the actress’s filmography. Filming took place in Thailand. For a year the group worked in extremely difficult conditions.
The action-packed adventure drama tells the story of the fate of thirteen people who find themselves stranded on a desert island after a shipwreck. The “accident” that quickly bursts into the lives of the heroes changes their plans and aspirations forever. These people will have to learn to cope with the elements and their own fears, act together, fight bandits and look for treasures. But in order to return home, everyone will have to answer the main question: “Why did I end up here?”
Elvira played Muscovite Lisa in the film. The actress recalls about working in the project: “This is a very interesting story: people end up on an island where they have to survive. But they are no longer fighting with nature, but with each other - building relationships. I play the role of a girl who goes from a glamorous, sleepy Muscovite selfish, even self-centered, to a person who is able to deal with circumstances and sympathize with others.”
"The beauty and the Beast"
In 2012, the Rossiya TV channel aired a melodrama by Olga and Vladimir Basov, “Beauty and the Beast,” about former ice ballet soloist Lyudmila Spitsyna, played by Elvira Bolgova.
In the story, Luda marries her colleague, figure skater Veniamin Linetskov. But right from the wedding, she is kidnapped by an unknown person and brought to his villa. The role of the kidnapper in the film was played by the artist’s long-time partner Alexey Makarov.
“This is the third film where we work together,” says the actress. — The first is “Officers”, the second is “First Attempt”. Apparently, the producers think that we are a very suitable couple. I think we got some interesting scenes in the film. I play an ice ballet dancer. At one time she was injured and was forced to engage in related professions. For this role I had to get comfortable on the ice very quickly.
In this film, I also remember meetings with good actors: Alexander Sotnikov, Tatyana Lyannik, Ekaterina Lapina.”
Later there were works in such multi-genre projects as: the comedy “Daddy for Rent” by Valery Rozhnov, the action movie “Track” by Maxim Demchenko, the melodrama “Medicine against Fear” by Alexander Aravin and “Middle-aged Girl” by Arthur Romaniansky.
"The Incredible Adventures of Alina"
In Victoria Derzhitskaya’s exciting adventure series “The Incredible Adventures of Alina,” the actress delighted her fans with a new transformation. This time she appeared before them in the image of the famous writer Alina Troyanskaya.
Troyanskaya writes novels about adventures and has not left the house for several years. Her home looks like a fortress from a fairy tale about the three little pigs. But one day, strangers kidnap the cautious writer and forcefully take her to search for Pugachev’s treasure along the route described in Troyanskaya’s last novel. Treasure hunters are confident that Alina will lead them to the treasure. They do not suspect that the treasure is guarded by a cannibal - in a trap from which there is no way out...
The artist shares her impressions from filming: “I really love watching heroic films, when you associate yourself with the hero, when his difficulties and his great achievements inspire you to do something in your everyday life. And when you are filming, you are inspired by the people, enthusiasts of their work, with whom you work. Alina Troyanskaya is a writer living in a modern city, and all her exploits are only on paper. In life, she is an anxious and closed person. When adventures happen to Alina, in order to survive, she inevitably has to step over herself, and due to this, her character is strengthened.”
"Anna's Last Victim"
In 2020, another premiere took place on the Rossiya TV channel with the participation of Elvira Bolgova. The actress played the main role of Anna Dymova in Pyotr Stepin’s melodrama “Anna’s Last Victim”.
Plot: Anna raised her daughter Vika alone and devoted herself entirely to the child. She didn’t even notice that she had raised her daughter to be a real selfish person. Vika first evicts her mother out of town, then demands an expensive wedding, then money to live with her husband. Anna gives all this to her daughter without complaint. But then it turns out that Vika cannot give birth to a child, and her marriage is falling apart at the seams. The money has run out, but Vika cannot find a surrogate mother. Then the girl turns to her mother with a request to carry her child.
The film also starred: Kirill Grebenshchikov, Anastasia Fursa, Svyatoslav Astramovich.
In total, the actress has more than forty film roles, and most of them are major ones.
Film roles
Bolgova’s film debut took place in 1995, during her senior year at Sliver, when she was invited to star in a short film based on Leonid Andreev’s story “The Abyss.”
Elvira Bolgova and Alexey Serebryakov in the film “Tests for Real Men”
The first full-length film in Elvira’s career was the 1998 detective story “Tests for Real Men.” In it she played in the company of Anna Kamenkova (she played the “on-screen” mother of the heroine Elvira), Alexei Serebryakov, Vitaly Solomin, Nikolai Eremenko Jr., Nikita Vysotsky, who glorified her role as a charming graduate student psychologist. The film received the main prize in the “Debut” category at the Kinotavr-1999 film festival. An excerpt from the film “Tests for Real Men” Elvira’s heroine, her namesake, a young psychologist, falls in love with a mature intelligence officer Alexei. The girl’s mother, a professor of psychology, arranges a series of tests for her potential son-in-law, which become a test of strength.
As Elvira admitted, she was not ready for the flurry of attention that fell upon her after the premiere of “Tests for Real Men.” Journalists were looking for meetings with the debutante, she was invited to social events, and Elvira wanted to hide at home and not show herself, which, of course, did not have a very good effect on her career. On the other hand, she avoided the disease of stardom, which is common among young artists.
Elvira Bolgova in the film “Retro Threesome”
In the same year, she appeared in two full-length films: Pyotr Todorovsky’s melodrama “Retro Threesome,” whose stars were Sergei Makovetsky, Elena Yakovleva and Evgeny Sidikhin, and the crime drama “Siberian Spas,” an action-packed film about the fate of an Orthodox man in the new world.
Still from the film “Siberian Spas”
The next significant role of the actress was the “chemist” Olga Borodina from the teenage series “Simple Truths”. Her heroine first appears in episode 99; subsequently she begins a love affair with her student Dima Knyazev.
In the following years, 2-3 films with her participation were released every year. She willingly agreed to episodes in the projects “To whom I owe, I forgive everyone,” “Lyubov.ru,” “Beauty Salon,” and “Loneliness of Blood.” In 2003, Bolgova played leading roles in the comedy film “Time is Money” and in the retro-drama “Desired,” based on the novel “Beautiful Fatty” by Yuri Perov.

The actress had an interesting experience in 2004, when she played triplets in the detective series “Twins.” One of them, Fatima, abandoned by her parents, grew up to be a criminal. And although the negative role was not the most typical for the actress’s filmography, she got used to it in one breath.
Elvira Bolgova in the film "Gemini"
Things were more complicated with the other two sisters, who had different personalities, especially during the scenes when they dressed up as each other in the story. I had to switch quickly and not get confused in my own deception. This work allowed the actress to make significant professional progress. Her partners in the frame were Olga Pogodina, Andrei Sokolov, Alla Yuganova, Andrei Chernyshov.
In the same year, Rodion Nakhapetov’s colorful comedy “My Big Armenian Wedding” was released, where Elvira played the beautiful Elena, who decided to marry an Armenian, as well as the comedy melodrama “Bachelors”, in which she appeared as Oleg’s secretary Zina.

A striking image was created by Bolgova in 2006 in the action-packed dramatic action film “Officers.” The film took viewers back to the war in Afghanistan and received high ratings from viewers. Elvira played the beloved girl of two special forces friends played by Alexei Makarov and Sergei Gorobchenko.

At the same time, a film adaptation of Mikhail Lermontov’s work of the same name “Hero of Our Time” was released, where she reincarnated as Pechorin’s former love Vera. The actress was also remembered by viewers for her roles in the popular projects of those years “Young Wolfhound”, “Journey to Falling in Love”, “It Doesn’t Happen That Way”.
Elvira Bolgova and Alexey Makarov
In 2008, Bolgova’s fans could see her in the drama “Two Colors of Passion,” based on Stendhal’s fascinating novel “Red and Black.” She played the key role of Vera, the object of her children’s teacher (played by Anton Feoktistov) and the wife of a wealthy restaurateur, the screen hero Igor Lifanov.

The actress’s roles were successful and interesting in the films “Once Upon a Time in the Province” with Yulia Peresild, released in the same year, where she got the role of a woman who became like her husband’s slave, and “Street Racers” with Alexei Chadov, where she played Laura, a member of a street team racers.

In 2012, the premiere of the top-rated Russian-Ukrainian television series “Island of Unnecessary People” took place, telling the story of the misadventures of people who ended up on a desert island after a shipwreck. The actress brilliantly played the role of Elizabeth, the obnoxious wife of businessman Kamorin (Dmitry Ulyanov), who has gone from a glamorous and spoiled egoist to a person capable of empathizing with others and withstanding difficult life circumstances.

Filming of the series took place in Thailand and almost became fatal for the actress. While walking through a shopping center in Bangkok, she lost consciousness. Doctors miraculously saved Elvira. It turned out that she had caught a fever carried by bats.
During the same period, the artist played the main role of ex-ice ballet dancer Lyudmila in the melodrama “Beauty and the Beast.” In 2013, she appeared in the central role of Rita, the deputy head of a pharmaceutical company, played the leading role of the bakery owner Irina in the comedy “Daddy for Rent” and Natasha, the wife of Boris (Sergei Selin), in the action film “Track”.

A year later, Elvira’s filmography was replenished with the leading roles of Ksyusha in the melodramatic film “Middle-aged Girl” and a popular writer in the fantasy film “The Incredible Adventures of Alina.” In addition, for the first time she sat in the director’s chair herself and shot the short film “Interaction.”

In 2020, Elvira created a unique image of a trouble-free mother in the melodrama “Anna’s Last Victim”, and a year later fans could get acquainted with her new work in the released mini-series “Married After All”. She played the role of doctor Elena, who dreams of finding a life partner.
Elvira Bolgova in the film “Married After All”
In 2020, the actress graduated from the Higher Courses for Scriptwriters and Directors. Her graduation work was the short film “Voices Outside the Window.” At the same time, she again starred in the leading role in the next melodrama “Bachelorette Party,” where her colleagues on the set were Irina Rozanova and Aglaya Shilovskaya. Short film by Elvira Bolgova “Voices Outside the Window” While actively filming, in 2020 she appeared in the psychological thriller “The Game”, playing Marina, the wife of the main character Yuri (Viktor Vasiliev).
Directing
In 2014, Elvira Bolgova acted as a director for the first time - she shot the short fiction film “Interaction”. This is a melodrama with the participation of Anna Khalilulina, Alexey Vakulov and Igor Kirsanov.
“The film is generally called “Interaction. Number,” explains Elvira. — Infinite variability of meetings, relationships and interactions. This is not just a story about love, rather it is a story about understanding. The film shows several aspects. For example, moral violence, when a person believes that he has the right to lead another, puts pressure on him. In the same situation, a moment of compassion is shown when a person, instead of hatred and anger, suddenly feels compassion for his offender, thus growing above himself.
In the film we tried to show the victory of man over his passion, when a man is born from an animal. Or again: if people break up, then we can say that they have lost each other, but it is also possible that everyone has found themselves. So just to say that the film is about love is to say nothing.”
Personal life
The actress's first husband, Kirill, was an entrepreneur. In marriage with him, a daughter, Glafira, was born. However, this wonderful event did not unite the family; the union fell apart. But Elvira and Kirill remained friends and raised their daughter together. Now Glasha is all grown up, she graduated from music school, is seriously interested in skiing and is already acting in films.
The artist’s new boyfriend, Anton, is a director of commercials. With him, Elvira managed to create a strong, happy family. “My husband is a golden man. He’s understanding, sensible, and knows his worth,” shares the actress. In 2014, the couple had a daughter, Radomira.
Elvira Bolgova
Elvira Bolgova is a Russian actress, known to film fans primarily for the films “Island of Unnecessary People”, “My Big Armenian Wedding” and “Daddy for Rent”. She was born in Moscow, in a family far from acting. Her father worked as an agronomist, and her mother was engaged in medical work.
At school, Elvira was not attracted to any science, so she did not devote herself fully to any subject, but she devoted a lot of time to gymnastics. After graduation, Bolgova decided to try to become an actress and entered the Shchepkin Higher Theater School. Her artistic director and mentor was Viktor Korshunov, and Yegor Barinov and Marat Basharov studied in the same class with Elvira.
After graduating from theater school, the young actress received two offers for further work. She could have joined the Maly Theater troupe, but decided to choose the Satyricon Theater. However, she served there for only one season, after which she moved to the Mossovet Theater, where she was involved in various performances until 2002. Then, due to lack of time caused by the large volume of work on film sets, Elvira Bolgova left the theater. Since then, she has performed only in enterprise productions, for example, “Storm in a Teacup” and “Trufaldino”.
During her student years, Elvira Bolgova had her first experience with a film camera: she starred in the short film “The Abyss,” which can be considered not only as a debut, but also as a student work. And the actress’s first full-length film was the psychological detective film directed by Andrei Razenkov, “Tests for Real Men.”
Bolgova plays a graduate student who begins to be courted by a middle-aged man, whose potential mother-in-law gives him a real test of masculinity. It is curious that all the performers are the namesakes of their characters.
In the crime drama “Twins,” Elvira Bolgova played three roles at once, creating the images of twin sisters. Despite the external similarity, her heroines are very different and the actress had to switch each time from her faithful wife Vera to the romantic and naive Lyuba or the cruel and vengeful Fatima.
In the social melodrama “Once Upon a Time in the Province” about domestic violence and humiliation, the actress managed to show the viewer the psychology of a woman who fell into slavery to her own husband; a woman for whom the wishes of her husband are more important than her love for her child. Elvira says that working on this role was not only interesting, but also somewhat instructive, since she had to look at many things from the point of view of a slave to her own feelings, such a kind of drug addict.
Having caught the similarity of motives with the famous play “A Streetcar Named Desire” by the great playwright Tennessee Williams, the actress brought notes of the heroine of the play into the soul of her character. Another work of Bolgova, the adventure television series “Island of Unnecessary People,” turned out to be very popular. A group of 13 people find themselves cut off from civilization on a tropical island, but they have to contend more with each other's personalities than with the vagaries of nature. The heroine of Elvira is the grumpy and capricious wife of the protagonist, who gradually turns from a glamorous egoist into a person capable of compassion for others and struggling with the vicissitudes of fate.
During filming, Bolgova, along with several other crew members, fell ill with a tropical disease after going into one of the bat caves, which then spread to the entire cast. Fortunately, the disease soon subsided without disrupting the planned work.
Elvira Bogova avoided marriages with colleagues, which rarely happens among actors. Her first husband, from whom she gave birth to a daughter, Glafira, in 1999, was an entrepreneur and had his own business. Elvira explains the separation from him by age - in their youth they made too many mistakes in building a family structure. After the divorce, Elvira and Kirill remained on good terms, and the father takes an active part in raising his daughter.
After some time, the actress gets married again. Her new boyfriend Anton works as a director of commercials. In 2014, another daughter, Radomir, appeared in the family.
Elvira Bolgova is a supporter of natural childbirth and gave birth to both children at home. The actress's hobby is traveling with her family to different parts of our planet. Moreover, she loves not only fashionable resorts and exotic tours, but also interesting excursions around her homeland.
Interview
About the profession
“The teachers told us that our profession is first of all character, and only then talent. You can only cancel a shoot if you are dying.”
“A real actor must play in the theater. Only there can you develop your acting talent. In cinema, you can develop directorial skills, camera skills - whatever you want, but acting skills to a lesser extent. And now I’ve reached a point in my life when I feel like there’s not enough stage. I can admit it, it's not shameful. Therefore, I would like to connect my plans with the theater.”
“I am always interested in the search and exploration of the human soul. In each role, it is important not only to reveal the traits inherent only to this character, but also to show its changes. I like to look for weaknesses in a strong person, and vice versa. I strive to make each role unique. The main thing is not only to embody the characters, but also to participate in full-fledged stories with good drama. So, you could say that lately I’ve been most interested in playing in smart stories!”
“For an actress, the main thing is unconventional ideas, interesting work, meetings with extraordinary people, unusual topics that you want to study and explore in order to understand new facets of human character.”
“An actor is an endless profession, you can constantly develop in it.”
About fame
“Probably the first film with my participation, which was widely discussed and advertised, was “Tests for Real Men.” A lot of nice partners, a lot of interviews, but I felt that I didn’t want this. I didn't want any attention! Now I understand that then the instinct of self-preservation took possession of me. You know, this is a difficult test. In our profession, we must learn to strengthen our spirit in order to remember ourselves and not lose ourselves!”
About cinema
“Good cinema, in my opinion, will never die! After all, there will always be people who don’t care about the economic calculations of show business, for whom the most important thing is the idea. I don’t understand people for whom TV series and bad movies are synonymous words. It’s hard to say that, for example, “Liquidation” is a mediocre work. And “The Island of Unnecessary People” cannot be called a bad movie. Yes, today the popularity of TV series is growing, but only because they are becoming better in quality. The viewer senses what is bullshit and what is worthwhile, and hence the ratings!”
“I like different films. I love adventures, but I also love serious films that study the life of the human spirit, make you look inside yourself and think. It’s not about the genres, the point is that the film is attractive and can “hook you in,” as they say now.”
“It’s difficult to talk about acting in cinema. Screenwriter, director, camera artist - these are the people who make movies, fill the atmosphere with emotions, passions, and life. Everyone knows this cinematic joke: if an actor doesn’t act in a movie, the director is to blame, that is, he set the task incorrectly. Making a role in the theater is much more difficult. You need to put all your strength, energy, passion into the performance, give your all in two or three hours, live and experience your whole life in such a short period of time.”
About Me
“I think I have great contrasts built into me. I can be very tough, I can be soft, I can be very offended, I may not stand up for myself, but I can stand up.”
“The diary saves! The main thing is not to forget to write down important meetings in it, and then don’t forget to read it! Now I go in for sports every other day and learn English. When there is a lot of work, I always make a schedule, and life acquires, if not meaning, then at least orderliness.”
About hobby
“I love traveling on foot, and it’s good for your health: in nature you gain strength for a whole year of living in the city.”
“I love dancing, playing sports, snowboarding and rollerblading, learning languages. While filming, I became addicted to knitting.”
“I love horses very much, despite my allergies - when I want to socialize, I go to the stables. And so I have a superficial attitude towards hobbies. I have never reached such a level - unsurpassed, like, for example, the Orientals, the Japanese, the Chinese. They love to study something all their lives and fall in love with it. Now my main hobby is my profession.”
Secret of success
“I probably have a secret, but I can’t tell you about it. Because every person must give birth to his own secret. He must cultivate in himself something that will help him move towards his goal. Other people’s secrets don’t work, invent your own.”

Movies
The actress’s cinematic biography began even earlier than her stage biography. During her student years, Elvira Bolgova had her first experience with a film camera: she starred in the short film “The Abyss,” which can be considered not only as a debut, but also as a student work.

And the actress’s first full-length film was the psychological detective story “Tests for Real Men” directed by Andrei Razenkov. Bolgova plays a graduate student. A middle-aged man, Alexey (Aleksey Serebryakov), begins to court her, and his potential mother-in-law, Anna (Anna Kamenkova), gives her a real test of masculinity. It is curious that all the performers are the namesakes of their characters.
Soon, the artist’s filmography was replenished with the colorful comedy “My Big Armenian Wedding,” directed by Rodion Nakhapetov. Elvira embodied on the screen the image of the Russian bride Lena, who decided to marry an Armenian. The main characters were presented by Mikael Janibekyan, Natalya Andreichenko, Marat Basharov, Maria Shukshina, Evdokia Germanova and others.

In the crime drama “Twins,” Elvira Bolgova played three roles at once, creating the images of twin sisters. Despite the external similarity, her heroines are different in character, and the actress had to switch each time from her faithful wife Vera to the romantic and naive Lyuba or the cruel and vengeful Fatima.
Together with Alexei Makarov and Sergei Gorobchenko, Elvira played out a love triangle in the conditions of the Afghan war in the action-packed action film “Officers”. The film received high viewing ratings in 2006, so it was decided to extend the series for a second season. But due to Bolgova’s employment in other projects, her character was later embodied by Ekaterina Vulichenko.

During these years, Elvira made a real breakthrough in her acting career. Among the images that the actress presented to the audience are the heroine Neya in the film “Young Wolfhound”, Vera in the film adaptation of “Pechorin. Hero of Our Time,” Katerina in the lyrical film “Journey into Love,” where Dmitry Maryanov became the girl’s work partner.
In 2008, filming of a drama based on the literary work of Stendhal took place. The film was released at the box office as "Two Colors of Passion". And again, the heroine Bolgova becomes a participant in a love triangle, which also includes the heroes of Anton Feoktistov and Igor Lifanov.

The actress’s next successful work was the main role in the drama “Once Upon a Time in the Province,” where Elvira was accompanied by Yulia Peresild, Alexander Golubev, and Lyubov Tolkalina. In the small world of a provincial town, a former compatriot appears, and now a screen star who has come to visit her sister. The appearance of the actress changes the way of life of local residents.
The theme that was raised in this social drama is domestic violence and humiliation. The actress managed to show the viewer the psychology of a woman who fell into slavery to her own husband. A woman for whom the wishes of her husband are more important than her love for her child.

Another work of Bolgova turned out to be popular - the adventure series “Island of Unnecessary People.” A group of 13 people find themselves cut off from civilization on a tropical island, but they have to contend more with each other's personalities than with the vagaries of nature. The heroine of Elvira is the grumpy and capricious wife of the protagonist, who gradually turns from a glamorous egoist into a person capable of compassion for others and struggle with the vicissitudes of fate.

During filming, Bolgova, along with several other crew members, fell ill with a tropical disease after going into a bat cave, which then spread to the rest of the cast. Fortunately, the disease soon subsided without disrupting the planned work.
The role in “The Island of Unnecessary People” was followed in the actress’s career by a number of leading roles in melodramatic films and TV series. Elvira Bolgova played the role of former ice ballet soloist Lyudmila Spitsyna, who was kidnapped by an unknown person on the eve of the figure skater’s wedding in the melodrama “Beauty and the Beast.”

Then Elvira Bolgova played the roles of Deputy General Director of the pharmaceutical company Rita Shagrai in the medical melodrama “Cure for Fear”, Irina Pankratova, who asks her ex-husband’s namesake to sign permission to leave for her son’s study abroad in the comedy melodrama “Daddy for Rent”, and Natasha Novika, his wife the owner of a roadside cafe in the action movie "Road".
A year later, the actress played the main role of Ksyusha Kuznetsova in the melodrama “Middle-aged Girl,” which is also known by the name “Life from the First.” The heroine of Elvira is an indecisive woman who, at almost 40 years old, continues to postpone life until later. Ksyusha does not dare to adopt a child, kick out her annoying groom and protect her own life from the interference of her friends. Only after learning about the fatal diagnosis does the woman decide to live.

The actress also plays the popular writer Alina in the fantasy comedy “The Incredible Adventures of Alina” and the uncomplaining and reliable mother Anna in the melodrama “Anna’s Last Victim”.
At the end of 2020, Elvira Bolgova played the main role of Lena Krapivina in the 4-episode melodrama “Married After All.” The actress's heroine works as a doctor, the woman is well over 30, and she desperately wants to improve her personal life and get married, but suitors constantly run away from the aisle. A friend tells a desperate woman that wedding failures are caused by the evil eye or a spell.

This clue gives Lena hope, and the woman finds a witch who confirms the mystical guess: the woman is under a curse-punishment for the fact that Krapivina destroyed the personal happiness of 3 other girls. Now, in order to improve her own family life, Lena must make the girls who suffered at her hands happy. This is far from easy, because the heroine doesn’t even know where to look for the 3 unfortunates from the past.
