Murat Ismailovich Nasyrov is a Russian pop star, famous for the hits “The Boy Wants to Go to Tambov”, “I Am You”, “Someone Will Forgive”, “These Moonlit Nights”.
Singer Murat Nasyrov
The future singer was born on December 13, 1969 into a large Uyghur family in the southern capital of Kazakhstan. He was the fifth and youngest child of Ismail Sufi and Khatira Niyazovna Nasyrov. The family emigrated from the western provinces of China to the USSR only in 1958, and some of Murat's older siblings were born in the PRC.
In Almaty, the boy’s mother worked at a local plastic factory, and his father was a city taxi driver. In his free time, Ismail wrote poetry and sang national songs to the accompaniment of Uighur instruments. The family maintained the traditions of their native people. For example, children should call their parents only “you” and obey them in everything.

While studying at school, Murat showed a love for algebra, geometry and physics. He went in for sports and mastered playing the guitar. In the early 80s, everything Western was in fashion, and boys covered the hits of the Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, and Modern Talking.
At school parties, Murat entertained his classmates in this way. Musical skills were useful to the young man in the army, where Nasyrov ended up after finishing his tenth year. This was the Ashgabat division, where Murat was assigned to a musical soldier’s group from the very first days.
Murat Nasyrov in his youth
After demobilization, Murat did not stay at home, but went to conquer Moscow, although according to tradition, the youngest son is obliged to live next to them until the end of his parents’ days. The young man entered the Gnesin Academy of Music in the vocal department. During his studies, the talented student initially lived in a dormitory for non-residents, but after a number of successful performances at music competitions, he got his first money and a job, which allowed Murat to rent an apartment and gain complete independence.
Murat Nasyrov protects his family after death
5 years ago, in January 2007, show business star Murat Nasyrov passed away. Our correspondent found out how the relatives of the “sunny boy” (as fans and colleagues called the artist) live now.
From the other world he warned about the fire...
Murat Nasyrov's widow Natalya, 15-year-old daughter Liya and 11-year-old son Akim still live in the same apartment in the south of Moscow where they lived with their beloved husband and father. Natalya kindly agreed to an interview. But it seemed that the higher powers did not want this conversation. During 7 minutes of communication, the mobile phone turned off 8 (!) times, and the line was disconnected mid-sentence. We called our home number and the same thing happened.
Only when I said out loud: “Murat, I beg you, let me talk a little with Natalya,” the phone magically “corrected.”
“This has never happened, and even with two phones at once - mobile and home,” Natalya herself did not hide her surprise. – Something mystical, incredible. Murat passed away exactly 5 years ago, on the evening of Epiphany... By the way, although my husband was a Muslim, he was very respectful of all religions, and once at Epiphany he even plunged into an ice hole.
– They say there is no death, there is simply a transition to another world. After Murat Nasyrov left, did you feel his presence in your life?
“It feels like he’s always there, supporting me.” For example, after he left, I had to solve many financial issues - how to live, what... Out of desperation, I began to consider options for professions in which I had never worked - assistant, secretary... And suddenly, quite unexpectedly, offers began pouring in for my fields (I have music and pedagogical education). in Gosha Kutsenko group and voiced a cartoon. Now I sing backing vocals for Sergei Mazaev, as well as in the group “A-Studio” . I teach at a music school-studio and give private lessons. In general, after Murat Nasyrov left, wherever I went, I came across surprisingly bright people. I have an absolute feeling that Murat sent them to me. There was a story recently when my daughter dreamed about him - before a short circuit occurred in the apartment and a fire almost broke out. Murat seemed to warn us. He probably became our family's guardian angel.
Daughter wears his sweater
– According to Christian customs, the things of a deceased person should be distributed to distant relatives and strangers. It is believed that thanks to this, the same things will be given to the deceased in the next world.
– We gave a lot to friends and family in Almaty. Some things were left at home - concert suits, his favorite shirts. The children are starting to wear something; the daughter, for example, took her dad’s sweater. There is absolutely no fear of putting on this or that thing - it’s still native. photographs of Murat Nasyrov on the walls of the apartment. One friend said: take it away, photographs of a deceased person take energy away from the living. I don't feel it. On the contrary, heat comes from them.
I asked the next question with caution - the person who (perhaps) created interference in the receiver might not like it. And sure enough, the phone switched off twice again.
– When Murat Nasyrov died, they wrote that it was not an accident, but suicide, that he allegedly took illegal substances... Although they did not find any alcohol or drugs in his blood. Were you hurt by these rumors?
“It hurts that Murat is gone, the rest didn’t matter.”
– A couple of months ago, information appeared on the Internet that you got married... (Something in the receiver rumbled displeasedly again.)
- It is not true. But even Murat’s mother called me from Alma-Ata. She says: “Natasha, don’t think about it, I don’t mind, you’re young... But will you at least tell me if you get ready?” I say: of course, Khatima Niyazovna, I will, but this is unlikely to happen in the near future. Children, work - in general, there is something to do. And there is no other man like Murat Nasyrov . I keep thinking: how lucky I am to have him!
- Did you take good care of him?
– He was a horseman (smiles). He wrote songs, poems, and told me that he was dreaming about me. I was living in a hostel then, there were quite hungry years - he brought me all sorts of tasty things, what my parents sent him. By the way, for a long time he did not dare to tell his parents about me. They dreamed that he would marry a girl of his own nationality.
We had already lived together for 4 years, Leah was born, when he wrote to them about me, sent my photo. Murat Nasyrov then became interested in photography, he took pictures of me in black and white, I had a very serious expression on my face. Murat’s mother later said that when she saw the photo, she was upset. I thought I was unkind and gloomy (laughs). Now my children and I visit Almaty whenever possible, visiting Murat Nasyrov’s relatives. Of course, the flight is expensive. Murat's mother misses her grandchildren. She is already 86 years old, her health is not the best. But she is a fighter, she holds on. Her son is alive to her and says: I need to cook this for dinner, Muratik loves it... And I hold on. If there is another world from where Murat sees and hears us (and I sincerely believe in this), he should see us happy, not giving up.
The phone went off again. It was as if someone had decided that enough had been said. And I thought that with such a vigilant guardian angel, it would be very problematic for Natalya to get married.
The name was entered into the Book of Eternity
Born in Almaty, into a Uyghur family. Graduated from the Gnessin Music College. The artist’s name thundered throughout the country in 1996, after the release of the hit “The Boy Wants to Go to Tambov.” Then there were: “I am you”, “Moonlit Nights” (duet with Alena Apina).
Few people know that Murat Nasyrov performed Russian versions for the screensavers of the famous Disney cartoons “Black Cape” (1993) and “DuckTales” (1994).
On the night of January 19-20, 2007, the singer fell from the balcony of his Moscow apartment on the 5th floor. Murat Nasyrov was only 37 years old. The day before his death, he announced his wedding to his common-law wife Natalya and was going to release a new album.
“They wrote that I converted to Islam for my husband’s sake, but this is not so,” Natalya told us. “We just went through a wedding ceremony in Alma-Ata, during which my name was included in the Muslim Book of Eternity. At the same time, there was no need to renounce anything. It’s just that, according to this book, my husband will always be by my side”...
Carier start
A vivid impression for the audience of the Yalta-91 competition was the performance of a young energetic musician from Kazakhstan, Murat Nasyrov. The singer conquered the jury with his vocal and stage abilities, which included Igor Krutoy, Vladimir Matetsky, Laima Vaikule, Jaak Joala.
The song from Alla Pugacheva’s repertoire “The Half-Educated Wizard,” which the singer performed, brought him the Grand Prix of the competition and opened up broad prospects. Composer Igor Krutoy invited Murat to sign a contract to create a disc, to which the willful Uyghur refused - he dreamed of singing only his own songs.
Murat Nasyrov in his youth
For some time, Murat made a living at a dubbing studio, recording soundtracks for Disney and Russian masterpieces “DuckTales”, “Black Cape” and “The New Adventures of Winnie the Pooh”. But thanks to the patronage of his compatriots, musicians from the A-Studio group, Murat manages to meet producer Arman Davletyarov, who helped the young performer record his first disc, “It’s Just a Dream,” at the Soyuz studio in 1995. The album did not have sufficient success with the public, but the musical composition “Step” hit the top of many radio stations.
For a real start, Nasyrov lacked a song that would become a hit. After some time, the producer invited the singer to cover the Brazilian track “Tic Tic Tac”, which was a success performed by the group “Carrapicho”. Arman was just looking for a suitable singer for the Russian-language version of this composition, which was called “The Boy Wants to Go to Tambov.”
Performed by Murat, it sounded brilliant, after which the author woke up famous throughout the country. The video for the incendiary hit was shown on leading Russian TV channels. In 1997, Murat Nasyrov was awarded the Golden Gramophone competition prize.
Music
Two years after his debut, Murat released his second solo album, “Someone Will Forgive,” which significantly surpassed the first in popularity. The leader of “A-studio” Batyrkhan Shukenov took part in the recording of the disc, with whom Murat sang “In Gray Drops of Rain” in a duet. Thanks to his new songs, Nasyrov received help from Alla Borisovna, who appreciated the talent of the young performer.
In the late 90s, the musician toured the country a lot. Each concert attracts full houses thanks to talented songs and live performances. Murat, unlike other Russian pop stars, does not use phonograms. Often at group concerts his vocal advantage becomes obvious, and this fact, paradoxical as it may sound, becomes a stumbling block with the producer.

In 1997, at the invitation of Alexander Iratov, Alena Apina’s husband, Murat began collaborating with the former lead singer of the Combination group. Together they create the duet hit “Moonlit Nights,” the Russian version of the song “Ding-a-dong,” which was included in the musicians’ concert program “Electric Train to Tambov.” During the concerts, Alena and Murat sang previous hits, new duets and the latest solo compositions. At the beginning of 2000, the singer mastered singing songs in English. In search of new musical forms, Murat writes a number of songs in the Latin style for the albums “All this was not with me” and “Wake me up”. The history of the creation of some songs on the latest disc is biographical. The first composition is dedicated to the singer’s son Akim, and the song “Alina” is dedicated to Alina Kabaeva.
In 2004, Nasyrov for the first time released a collection of songs in his native language called “Staying Alone.” To record the accompaniment, Murat used both national Uighur instruments and modern ones. Nasyrov performed the instrumental parts for the album himself, and assembled the sound in his studio. In the same year, the musician accepts Alla Pugacheva’s offer to collaborate with Star Factory-5. In the finale of the program, Murat performs the hit “Someone Will Forgive” together with participant Yulianna Karaulova.
It is known that at the beginning of 2007, Nasyrov was working on creating a new hit, with which the author wanted to perform at the Eurovision Song Contest. His last famous work was the musical composition “The Climber and the Last of the Seventh Cradle,” for which the State Cinematography Orchestra was invited to record.

The singer’s relatives reported that Murat Nasyrov had recently been in a state of depression, and this especially worsened after the death of the artist’s close friend, guitarist Baglan Sadvakasov. On that fateful day, the grandmother remained to look after her grandchildren, but she did not witness the artist’s jump, since she was in another room. However, according to her, it was the deceased guitarist friend who appeared to Murat on that fateful night. And a few minutes before the jump, he said that he saw God. Let us note that even years later, the exact reason for Murat Nasyrov’s suicide remained an unsolvable mystery.
