During his studies at Leningrad University A.S. Pushkin Nagiyev was seriously injured due to hypothermia. After some time, he began to feel complete numbness in half of his face; it simply stopped moving. Diagnosis and treatment of the disease
The young man was unshakable. He fought for his health for more than a month and a half, and ultimately endured many serious and painful stages of treatment. But everything was unsuccessful.

"Accidental" recovery
A lot of time passed, and Dmitry was still in the hospital hoping for recovery. Sometimes, at night, he was overcome by a wave of despair. How can a person live without the work for which he was born? The student was haunted by a devastating feeling of absolute helplessness: the life he dreamed of was gradually disappearing, and he was unable to fix anything.
But one sleepless night, the actor finally fell asleep. That very night, the wind opened the window. She hit the wall and covered the floor with glass shards. Out of fright, half asleep, he jumped out of bed and was surprised to feel: his cheek moved, a little later than his eyes. A slight trembling passed through the body. Nagiyev's face literally came to life! A day later he immediately left the clinic. I felt great. Dmitry smiled, talked, ate calmly and did other things that were now of particular value to him. Attempts by doctors to detain the actor for another month, arguing that it was necessary to complete the procedures and undergo several more courses of treatment to fully consolidate the result, were absolutely unsuccessful, because Dmitry did not want to wait, he was drawn to the stage.

The fact is that in his youth Nagiyev suffered from paralysis of the facial nerve (scientifically “paresis”). Facial nerve paralysis is a disease that develops spontaneously, transiently and is an unexpected unpleasant surprise for the patient. This disease is usually caused by infections. The facial nerve is responsible for the sensitivity of our face and motor function of the muscles. When a nerve stops functioning normally due to illness, nerve impulses cannot transmit signals to the brain as well as they should. The patient can fully recover only if he seeks medical help in time, otherwise the consequences can be dire.
Unfortunately, this disease is not rare. On average, twenty people have it per hundred thousand people. So how did Dmitry Nagiyev get his squint and his signature squint?

After the first months of study, Nagiyev realized that nothing was working out for him. He tried his best, gave his best, rehearsed endlessly, but it was all in vain.
Throughout the summer holidays, the future actor was tormented by doubts. Sometimes he thought that he had simply wasted his time and energy, that nothing would work out for him, and sometimes, on the contrary, that he was simply created for the stage and needed to go to the end. As a result, Nagiyev, of course, decided to continue his studies. Arriving in the classrooms in the fall, the guy got down to business with new enthusiasm.
One morning, Dmitry woke up, sat down to have breakfast and discovered that food was literally falling out of his mouth, his lips were difficult to obey. The young man decided not to pay attention to it, deciding that it would soon pass, got ready and hurried to study. Only at the institute did he realize that something had happened to him. All his friends asked what was wrong with his face, why he looked so strange.
Looking in the mirror, Nagiyev was horrified. One side of his face simply drooped; he could speak clearly only with great difficulty. The doctors clearly forbade him to leave the hospital and advised him to complete the course of treatment to the end. But they could not resist the ardent pressure of the young man, who wanted to quickly return to his favorite business and make his dream come true.

If in his youth he had listened to the advice of doctors and completed the course of therapy to the end, he would have been completely cured and the consequences of the disease would not have appeared on his face today.
