Biography

Sergei Strelnikov was born into a family of doctors.
Two years later, the Strelnikovs moved from Russia to Ukraine. “My father was a big deal to me, I just wanted to follow what he did. Therefore, I was planning to enter medical school, to study psychiatry. But I had great difficulties with chemistry, as with all other exact sciences. I am a humanitarian person, I liked history, literature, languages,” Sergei says about himself. “I admit, I’ve never played such scoundrels before.” This family story features a great ensemble cast, I always wanted to work with these guys. Plus, my wife Victoria Litvinenko and brother Anton Skripets are filming here. So I was happy.

— Does having relatives on set help you relax or, on the contrary, stress you out?

— Eva and Anton are professionals whom I completely trust. I once had a cameo with Eva in “Emergency”, in “The Companion” - this is my sister’s first big role in the project.

— According to the script, your character Igor Orlov has a stable. Is this your first time working with horses?

— In “Chapaev” and “Trickster” I had a lot of fun riding horses. And here I will also be in the saddle, although I had to take several riding lessons.

— How do you keep yourself in good shape between filming?

— I regularly conduct classes in hand-to-hand combat, do pull-ups on horizontal bars and carry iron. But even on the set there is plenty of extreme sports: I was drowned twice, I fought with a bear in the lower parterre. I love it when work requires extreme sports. In real life, I can easily sit at home all day and play computer games. This was the case before, because Vika and I recently had a son, Sylvester Sergeevich, and we don’t have time for computer toys.

— Your son’s name is Sylvester - does this mean that Stallone is your favorite actor?

— First of all, the name Sylvester goes well with the patronymic Sergeevich. Secondly, my first teacher in the extended day group was called Svetlana Silvestrovna. And, of course, Sly - I respect and love his work in films. I think he’s a cool guy and I’ll definitely hang a Stallone poster on the wall in Sylvester’s nursery - so that from the cradle he can see who he should look up to.

— Sylvester is probably doomed to connect his fate with cinema...

— Yes, we practically have a clan in this business. ( Laughs .) But I think that the boy first needs to be prepared physically - he will run, jump and swing his fists like a folder.

The film “The Companion” tells about the vicissitudes of the fate of photographer Lisa (Ekaterina Varchenko). Once upon a time, on the roof of a high-rise building, she was photographing her younger sister, and the baby fell down... At her exhibition, the photograph “The Abyss,” taken moments before the girl’s fall, is bought by businessman Oleg Orlov (Valery Pankov) and offers Lisa a job - teaching his sick daughter the art of photography and at the same time become her friend and companion. Filming took place from September 2011 to January 2012 in Yaroslavl, Moscow, Kostroma, Tutaev, the village of Dievo-Gorodishche, near Kiev. For the role of Vasily Chapaev, Sergei was awarded the prestigious Teletriumph film award.

Alexey Strelnikov headed the Engels district of the Saratov region

Former Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Saratov Region Alexey Strelnikov was approved as the acting head of the Engels region. The decision was made today by deputies of the district assembly. The former head of the district, Dmitry Tepin, voluntarily resigned on May 6, saying that he did not manage to accomplish everything he had planned and that he “overestimated” his strength. Experts generally assess Alexey Strelnikov’s candidacy positively, but believe that local elites may not accept him.

Deputies of the Engels district assembly unanimously accepted the resignation of the head of the district, Dmitry Tepin, and approved Alexei Strelnikov as the acting head of the district. The candidacy of the latter was introduced “by vote” by the chairman of the district assembly, Sergei Gorevsky. Prior to this, Mr. Strelnikov, since October 2017, served as deputy chairman of the regional government and was in charge of agriculture; on May 6, he resigned from the government of his own free will.

Speaking to the deputies, Mr. Strelnikov said that he did not promise to solve all the problems of the region in the shortest possible time, but he would work in the region “within his capabilities.”

Chairman of the Government Alexander Strelyukhin, who was present at the meeting of the district meeting, said that Alexey Strelnikov, being an experienced manager, would cope with the work in the Engels region.

It is expected that Mr. Strelnikov will act as head of the district until June 2

Mr. Strelnikov’s predecessor as head of the Engels district, Dmitry Tepin, submitted an application to the assembly of deputies on May 6 to resign at his own request. Later, he posted a video message on his Instagram page in which he spoke about the reasons for leaving the post of head of the district. He noted that he “was not able to fulfill all his promises,” and the reason for this, according to him, was, among other things, “an overestimation of one’s strength.” “There were quite complex problems that could not be solved. ...I would like the new head of the district to be able to solve as many problems as possible,” said Mr. Tepin.

Dmitry Tepin was appointed to the position of head of the Engels region in June 2020, before which he headed the Ministry of Construction and Housing and Communal Services of the region. Mr. Tepin has repeatedly found himself at the center of criticism from regional authorities. Last fall, the start of the heating season in the Engels region was disrupted, and interruptions in heat supply were observed in the Engels Summer Camp. At the same time, as it turned out, the head of the district himself was on vacation at that time.

In February of this year, information appeared that Mr. Tepin appears as a witness in a criminal case regarding the illegal allocation of land in the village of Solnechny-2 in the Kirovsky district of Saratov. A criminal case was initiated against unidentified persons of the government and administration of Saratov under Art. 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Fraud”). The investigation believes that as a result of the machinations of officials, social facilities were not built in Solnechny-2, and the land plots intended for them were given over to residential development. The fraud, according to the Investigative Committee, took place from 2012 to 2019, while Dmitry Tepin served as Minister of Construction. There are no results of the investigation yet. The administration of the Engels district did not confirm Dmitry Tepin’s involvement in the criminal case.

On May 2, the actions of the Engels authorities were criticized by State Duma deputy Nikolai Pankov. In his Telegram channel “A Couple of Words” he wrote that on May 1 he checked the construction of a memorial dedicated to the pilots who died during the Great Patriotic War in the Engels Flight City and, drawing attention to the increase in the estimate to 80 million rubles. (in October last year the project was estimated at 39 million rubles), said that the administration of the Engels region showed its illiteracy and turned the construction of the memorial into “a mockery of history itself.”

Alexey Strelnikov already has experience working in the administration of the Engels region. From 2004 to 2006, he worked in the agricultural department of the administration of the Engels municipal formation of the Saratov region. From 2006 to 2012, he held the positions of deputy head of the municipality, first deputy head of administration, and head of the administration of the Sovetsky municipal district. On September 28, 2012, he was appointed to the position of head of the Rivne district administration. In October 2020, he was elected to the position of head of the Rivne district of the Saratov region.

Deputy of the Saratov Regional Duma from the Engels district Stanislav Denisenko (LDPR) positively evaluates the candidacy of Alexey Strelnikov.

“I know him as an active, responsible and professional person. When he worked in the Rivne region, I did not hear any negative reviews about him. I hope a person has come who is ready to work systematically,” noted Mr. Denisenko.

According to him, the credibility of Alexey Strelnikov will be high, but his ability to manage the region will be visible by the end of summer, when preparations for the heating season begin.

Political scientist Alexander Panteleev believes that it will be difficult for Mr. Strelnikov to work and there is a risk that the local elites will not accept him. “Engels is a specific city that has always competed with Saratov, and it has developed its own closed community that has never accepted strangers - people who did not grow up and have not lived there all their lives,” noted Mr. Panteleev. As for professional qualities, according to the political scientist, this is not of great importance in the context of a vertical power structure.
