Ekaterina Nosik is a famous Russian actress who is a frequent guest in various domestic television series and films. During her career, she managed to participate in many projects. Some turned out to be successful, some, on the contrary, failed. But the fact remains: the actress is still in demand and has many fans in the CIS.
If you are reading these lines, then you are probably one of them too. If this is indeed the case, we invite you to read our publication, in which you will find a lot of interesting information about this artist.
Biography
Nosik Valery Benediktovich was born in Moscow on October 9, 1940. His father, Benedikt Nosek, was a Pole who moved to Ukraine at the beginning of the 20th century. There he changed the surname Nosek, which was not very familiar to local residents, to a more harmonious, albeit funny one. While still living in Ukraine, Benedict Nosik married Alexandra Subbotina, a Kashira tradeswoman.
Valery Nosik in his youth
Valery became the eldest son in the Nosikov family. In 1948, he had a younger brother, Vladimir Nosik, who later also became an actor. What is noteworthy is that the parents of the two famous artists had nothing to do with cinema, or the theater. His father worked as a clerk, and his mother worked as an accountant. However, already from the fourth grade, Valery Nosik, on his own initiative, began to go to the studio of the ZIL Palace of Culture, developing his acting talent under the guidance of Sergei Stein.
Valery Nosik in his youth
After graduating from school, the young actor had no doubts about where to go: he wanted to continue his studies at VGIK. The first time he failed to enter one of the most prestigious Russian film institutes, Valery got a job at the plant named after. Likhachev as a fitter. But he did not intend to give up his dream: a year later he again tried to enter VGIK, and this time successfully. The future famous artist studied in the workshop of Mikhail Romm.

Parents
Valery Nosek's father, Benedikt Nosek, is a purebred Pole. At the beginning of the last century he moved to Ukraine. Once in Ukraine, Benedict deliberately simplified his surname and became Nosik. Here he married Kashira bourgeois Alexandra Subbotina. In 1940, the couple had a son, Valery, and in 1948, Vladimir. Both of them became famous actors.
Movie
Valery Nosik began to engage in amateur activities in the fourth grade - he went to classes at the studio of the ZIL Palace of Culture, which was led by the wonderful teacher Sergei Lvovich Stein. After graduating from school, he entered VGIK, where he studied with the great Mikhail Romm.
By the time he graduated from VGIK in 1963, Valery Nosik had already managed to star in several films. His debut was the role of Nose in the drama “Knock on Any Door” directed by Maria Fedorova (1958). In addition, since 1961, Valery combined his studies at VGIK and filming with work at the Moscow Youth Theater.
Valery Nosik worked very hard all his life. Since the late 50s, when he first appeared on screen and stage, he was constantly busy filming, rehearsing, concerts, and all kinds of recordings.
Very soon the role of the actor was determined. Valery Nosik, as a rule, played comedic roles. And although these roles were most often small, they never went unnoticed. His characters, funny and eccentric, invariably brought a smile to the audience. These were: the rustic Otto Fukin from the famous “Big Change” and the lover of detectives Lyutikov in films about Aniskin, a careless student in the film almanac “Operation Y and Shurik’s Other Adventures” and the poacher Grisha in the comedy “You for me, I for you”, the wizard Oh in the fairy tale “Tsarevich Prosha” and many, many others... It can be noted that the names of Nosik’s characters were similar to the surname of the actor himself. Vladimir Nosik’s talent brought color to any, even the smallest roles, and saved average, passable films from failure.
But film directors used the actor’s dramatic talent much less often than his comedic talent. This is probably why these rare works were much more expensive for Valery Nosik. Complex, dramatic images were created by the actor in the tragicomedy “Soaked Boots”, directed by Mikhail Ilyenko based on the stories of Chekhov, the film story “Horizon” by Joseph Kheifits, the retro-drama “Shura and Prosvirnyak” by Nikolai Dostal...
Personal life
In his youth, Valery Nosik was married to the famous actress Liya Akhedzhakova, with whom he worked at the Youth Theater. They had no children in this marriage. Perhaps this was one of the reasons for their divorce. Be that as it may, Valery always spoke only well of his ex-wife, calling her smart and talented.
His second wife was also an actress - Maria Sternikova. Valery met her on the set of the film “Hurry to Build a House,” which took place in Moldova. Their romance ended in marriage, and in 1971 their son Alexander was born.
Maria Sternikova recalls: “When Sasha was born, my husband simply blossomed and adored him. He had a good patriarchal family: many aunts, a friendly mother. I already had a daughter, I was still wondering whether to give birth or not. And they unanimously said: “Why did we take you?”
But in the future, family life for Valery and Maria did not work out. They divorced when their son Sasha was nine years old. Subsequently, Maria Sternikova married actor Alexei Kudinovich.
Theater
After leaving the Youth Theater, Valery Nosik worked at the Moscow Theater from 1965 to 1972. A. S. Pushkin. And from 1972 he moved to the Maly Theater, where he played until the end of his days.
At the Maly Theater Valery Benediktovich was called “Sun” because he was a man of extraordinary kindness and light. He was adored simply because he was. Touching and defenseless. He wanted to do everything, he was worried about everyone, he tried to help everyone: he was preparing a new concert program for himself and his brother, Vladimir Nosik, and he helped his son Alexander Nosik, also an actor. But I didn’t calculate my health...
On January 4, 1995, Valery Nosik did not show up for work. He was found dead at home. Next to him on the bed were pieces of paper with a new role...
Movies
Valery Nosik graduated from VGIK in 1963, but he began working in his specialty earlier. While still studying, the actor acted in films and performed on the stage of the capital's Youth Theater. Nosik’s film debut was a small role of a character named Nose in the film “Knock on Any Door,” which was released in 1958.
In his youth, Valery Benediktovich was constantly busy: at the university, at rehearsals, filming, concerts. Nevertheless, the actor was happy to plunge headlong into his favorite profession and did not get tired of such a rhythm of life.
Valery Nosik in the film “Knock on Any Door”
Seemingly sweet and simple-minded (it’s hard to find a photo where the actor isn’t smiling), Valery Nosik most often played sharp comedic characters. His open face and not too tall height were a great help in this. At the same time, it sometimes turned out that Valery, who played a small but bright role, was remembered by the audience much better than the actors who got the key roles.
Valery Nosik in the film “Aniskin Again”
Most often, Nosik's characters were strange, funny, sometimes not too distant or, on the contrary, too smart. Whatever role Valery Benediktovich played, there was no doubt that he would put his whole soul into it and would be able to “stretch” the entire film with his acting alone.
However, the actor was often lucky to participate in film projects that later became classics of Russian cinema: this is “Big Change” (where Nosik flashed the role of the goalkeeper, the eccentric Otto Fukin), and “You for me, I for you” (where the actor played the role poacher Grisha), and the fairy tale “Tsarevich Prosha” (in this film Valery got the character of the wizard Oh), and many others.
Valery Nosik in the film “Big Change”
Although comedic roles were definitely Nosik’s specialty, he was not at all devoid of dramatic acting talent. Directors were less likely to be so perspicacious as to see deep drama in the eternal comedian, and therefore the artist’s filmography contains significantly fewer such projects. But still, for example, he managed to star in the film story “Horizon”. The film tells the story of 12 graduates who arrived in the virgin lands and, under rather difficult conditions, were forced to grow up and give up their childhood illusions. There were other serious films in his career.
In total, over the years of his life, Valery Nosik starred in more than a hundred films, mostly in small, albeit characteristic, memorable roles.

Work in the theater
In 1965, the actor left the Youth Theater for the Moscow Theater. Pushkin, where he worked until 1972. In 1970, the Maly Theater was headed by the talented director Boris Ravenskikh, who invited like-minded people from the Moscow Theater to work with him. Pushkin. He also called Nosik, whom he considered a gifted actor. After thinking for a while, Valery Benediktovich accepted the invitation.

The actor also played a large number of roles in the theater. He participated in such productions as: “The Little Humpbacked Horse”, “Conversations under a Clear Moon”, “The Tricks of Scapin”, “The Eleventh Commandment”, “Dostigaev and Others”, “The Marriage of Balzaminov”, “The Cherry Orchard”, “Not All Maslenitsa for the cat”, etc.

At the same time, the acting troupe was like a second family for him: Valery Nosik was always ready to help his colleagues, worried about everyone, and tried to get a lot done. For his kindness and inner light, the actor was often called “Sunny.”
Theater
After graduating from university, Vladimir joined the troupe of the Film Actor Studio Theatre, where he began to receive roles in both classical and modern repertoire. The audience remembers Vladimir Nosik in the performances “The Fool” by Lope de Vega, “The Miracle of St. Anthony” by Maurice Maeterlinck, “The Comedy of Errors” by William Shakespeare, “Behind the Dead Souls” by Nikolai Gogol, “Tanya” by Alexei Arbuzov, “The Shadow” by Evgeny Schwartz. After 25 years, the actor transferred to the State Academic Drama Maly Theater, which in the difficult 90s the actors Yuri Solomin and Viktor Korshunov managed to defend.
Vladimir Nosik in the theater
Starting with small roles in the new team, Vladimir eventually joined the main cast of the troupe. With the participation of Nosik, the productions “Tsar Ivan the Terrible” and “Prince Silver” by Alexei Tolstoy, “Our People - Let’s Be Numbered!” were released. Alexander Ostrovsky, “The Inspector General” by Nikolai Gogol, “Uncle Vanya” and “Three Sisters” by Anton Chekhov, “King Gustav Vasa” by August Strindberg. Vladimir’s last works at the Maly Theater were the performances “The Power of Darkness” by Leo Tolstoy and “The Heroine’s Dream” by Alexander Galin.
Personal life
The actor’s first wife was the famous Soviet and Russian actress Liya Akhedzhakova, whom Valery Nosik met while working at the Youth Theater. However, this family did not last long: Valery and Leah divorced without having any children together.
Liya Akhedzhakova and Valery Nosik
Some believe that the divorce may have happened precisely because no children were born in the marriage. However, the former spouses maintained warm friendly relations, and Nosik himself always spoke flatteringly about Liya Akhedzhakova’s talent.
Valery Nosik with his wife Maria Sternikova
In 1970, the actor starred in the film “Hurry to Build a House,” and there the actress Maria Sternikova attracted his attention. Soon after filming, the lovers got married, and in 1971 they had a son, Alexander Nosik, who later also chose an acting career.

Unfortunately, the second wife also did not become the love of his life for Valery Benediktovich: nine years later the couple divorced.
Death
He died on January 4, 1995, the cause of death being a heart attack. On this day, Valery Benediktovich did not go to work, and when his relatives became worried and went to his home, next to the actor’s lifeless body they found a script with his new role, which Nosik, apparently, was learning shortly before his death.
Valery Nosik’s last role was in the film “On the Corner of the Patriarchs”
The artist’s death at a fairly early age of 54 came as a shock to his relatives. Nosik was relatively healthy, practically did not drink alcohol, but, according to his son, “he worked like a convict.”
Valera's lifeless body was discovered by his brother when he received a call from the theater and asked to check if he was okay. The actor's death was reported only in a small note in the newspaper.
