Father
Our hero’s father, the well-known actor Yuri Tsurilo, was born in a remote village in the Vladimir region in 1946. His Russian mother and Gypsy father could not get along together and soon after the boy’s birth they separated, leaving their son with his grandmother. It was difficult for an elderly woman to raise her grandson alone, and often the parents of classmates bought warm clothes for him. At the age of 14, Yuri Tsurilo left school and began working as a factory worker. However, he dreamed of the stage, and as soon as he turned 18, he left for the capital.
Although the young man had a recommendation from actor Evgeny Kuznetsov, who saw him perform on the stage of an amateur school theater, he was unable to enter the Moscow Art Theater School because he had a nervous breakdown. Another attempt to get into the profession, becoming a student at the Shchukin School, also did not end in anything, since Yuri Tsurilo received an offer to make his debut in the film “Royal Regatta”. The actor’s first role turned out to be successful, and it was followed by many others, no less interesting.
Real fame came to Yuri Tsurilo when director Alexey German invited him to play a role in the film “Khrustalev, the car!” After this picture, the actor no longer knew the shortage of interesting proposals.
To date, Yuri Tsurilo has starred in 7 dozen films, although he still does not have the title of Honored Artist, since he himself has repeatedly refused it.

The future star of action-packed TV series was born in February 1977 in Novgorod, where his father, actor Yuri Tsurilo, was brought on duty. The penchant for a nomadic life is in the blood of the parent, who became famous for his main roles in “The Dragon Syndrome” and “Khrustalev, the Car!” Vsevolod’s grandfather and Yuri Alekseevich’s father are gypsies.
The family changed city after city, visited northern Norilsk, from where they moved to Novgorod. Yuri Tsurilo’s wife, Nadezhda Georgievna, meekly collected her belongings and followed her husband, who was looking for a place in the sun.

Vsevolod Tsurilo’s parents tied their destinies when they were 18 years old; their early marriage grew into a strong marriage, in which two sons were born, Alexey and Vsevolod. But only the youngest, Vsevolod, chose the acting path. The eldest became a military man.
In childhood and adolescence, the future artist did not dream of a stage or film set. The guy was fond of several sports - boxing, weightlifting, running with a ball on the basketball court and going to the pool.

Vsevolod studied at a school with a legal bias and saw himself as a brave guardian of order. But after graduating from school, plans had to be changed: due to a cold, he “fell asleep” while taking the running standard. I postponed my dream of a police school until next year. In order not to sit on his parents’ necks, the guy got a job and worked as an assembler in the theater where his father appeared on stage.
The following year, Tsurilo Jr. went to police school again. And again a failure. Then Vsevolod remembered that he loved biology lessons at school. I entered a pedagogical university, but disappointment followed immediately: after the first session, the guy took away the documents.
The move of the Tsurilo family to St. Petersburg (Yuri Tsurilo was invited to the Alexandrinsky Theater) became decisive: Vsevolod entered the best of the theater universities - SPbGATI. But at the academy, the young man did not have a good relationship with the course master. The sophomore dropped out of school and got a job as an administrator in a store.

But the acting genes won. An incident helped me decide: a girl I knew, a student of the directing department, asked Vsevolod to play in his graduation performance. Tsurilo stepped onto the stage and felt unprecedented inspiration. The father who saw the performance, stingy with compliments, advised his son to continue in the same spirit.

Until the mid-90s, Vsevolod Tsurilo and his family (photo in the article) lived in Novgorod. In 1994, he graduated from a law school there. The young man decided to continue his education in a specialized institution in order to further serve in law enforcement agencies. However, his dreams were not destined to come true. Before the exams for the police school, he caught a bad cold and was unable to pass the running standard. In order not to hang around idle for a whole year, Vsevolod began working as an assembler at the Novgorod theater, where his father worked in those years. The second attempt to become a cadet at a police school was also unsuccessful, and the young man entered the biology department of Novgorod University. Studying was difficult for him, and by the end of the first year he already realized that he had made a mistake. By luck, during this period his father was offered a job in St. Petersburg, where his family also moved. In St. Petersburg, Vsevolod Tsurilo entered SPbGATI, where he studied on the course of V.B. Pazi.
After graduating from university in 2004, he was enrolled in the Lensovet Theater troupe.
Personal life
Vsevolod’s first wife was his colleague Marianna Korobeinikova, an actress at the Lensovet Theater. The couple appeared on stage together and starred in “cop” TV series. In 2002, Marianna gave birth to her husband’s daughter Yaroslav, but their common child did not save the marriage: the couple separated.

Vsevolod Tsurilo’s second wife was his colleague Elena Birger, whom he met in the corridors of the theater academy. Then Seva and Lena liked each other, but not enough to link their destinies. In 2012, the wife gave birth to her husband’s second daughter, who was given the Scandinavian name Gerda.

On September 23-25, 2020, the cultural festival “Reserve” was held in Pskov and Pushkin Mountains. One of its main events was the premiere of the play “A Man Doomed to Happiness” based on texts by S. Dovlatov. It was carried out by the director of the Pskov Drama Theater. Pushkin Boris Birman. Vsevolod Tsurilo was invited to play the main role of the narrator Dalmatov in the production, which its creators consider a lyrical comedy on the verge of the absurd. The actor’s wife and children were present at the rehearsals and became his main inspirers, which predetermined the success of the performance. In one of his interviews, Tsurilo noted that he did not try to play the real Sergei Dovlatov, since this is a thankless task, and tried to show the viewer his impression of this original writer and simply a very interesting person.
