As the actor himself says, everything worked out thanks to a strong feeling of excitement and fear. The short actor (Igor’s height is 170 cm and weighs 66 kg) immediately became popular.

“When I first walked into the assembly hall, I realized that I had come to the right place. And he never left there again,” said Igor.

The actor started playing KVN at first just for fun, and then he didn’t even notice how he got involved in the game - he liked the idea of everything that was happening.

Games for the Dnepropetrovsk teams “+5” and “Steel Project” became Lastochkin’s debut on the KVN stage. In 2008, the comedian joined the national team, and the newcomer was received cordially and warmly. At first the team did not play in captain’s competitions, but Igor’s comrades offered to lead the team and become the captain of the “Dnepropetrovsk Team”, Lastochkin agreed.

During the period of performance in KVN, the audience especially remembered the number about the daring kitten in the market. The series of miniatures “Igor and Lena” was popular, where the roles of the spouses were played by Igor Lastochkin and Vladimir Borisov.

There are many games in a comedian’s career, but there were, of course, defeats. Igor Lastochkin considers the game in the 1/8 finals in 2011 to be the main failure. This difficulty is due to the fact that at that time the team had neither experience, nor funds for props, nor time to properly prepare. Career in KVN

First, Igor played for the university team, then for Dnepropetrovsk “Plus 5” and “Steel Project”, and in 2008 he ended up in the city team. Very soon, Lastochkin became not only the brightest player on the team, but also the captain and author of jokes. KVN fans still remember the insanely funny duet “Igor and Lena”, in which they and Vladimir Borisov portrayed spouses. But Igor was not going to part with humor, which by this time had become an important part of his life. There was no longer any talk of any work in metallurgy, the diploma was gathering dust on the shelf, and new projects awaited Lastochkin.

Comedian Igor Lastochkin
This show turned out to be successful. The project is a unique collection of satirical sketches on highly social and topical topics that are close to every resident of Russia. Among the heroes there are different types. At the same time, the images are created in a unique way to avoid comparison with real famous characters. The main goal of the television program is not to offend a specific person, but to draw the attention of viewers to the environment and the situation in society.

The fact that the artists of the project, among whom were Olga Kartunkova, David Tsallaev, Yulia Topolnitskaya, Azamat Musagaliev, coped brilliantly with the task, is evidenced by the high ratings of the program.

In 2014, Ukrainian fans were surprised by the showman’s statements. Igor, together with his colleagues, recorded a video message in which he recalled the unity of Russians and Ukrainians. The actor even spoke about the common basis connecting peoples on stage when he read out a reworked poem by Taras Shevchenko “I marvel at the sky...”.

Today, such a positive attitude towards Russia is perceived ambiguously in Ukraine. Many Ukrainian viewers believe that Lastochkin's point of view has already lost its relevance, as relations between the countries have deteriorated, and the old days of close partnership and cooperation are gone forever. Nevertheless, there were also supporters of the opinion expressed by Igor.

In 2020, the artist began participating in the Ukrainian television comedy show “League of Laughter,” in which teams or comedians compete in humorous routines or answers among themselves. “Song about Deputies” was most remembered by the audience.

One day, the “Ghost Rider” mentor at the “League of Laughter” told reporters about the project, as well as about the eccentric member of his team. According to the actor, Mark Kutsevalov, his ward, turned out to be a promising participant. According to Igor Sergeevich, it is necessary to devote more time and attention to developing the talents of those young people who intend to actively develop in the direction of television shows.

Igor Lastochkin turned out to be a talented organizer. The Odessa team “Ghost Rider” and the group of comedians from Moldova “Stoyanovka” under his leadership became prize-winners of the project in the 2nd and 3rd seasons. In the competition, the comedian’s team beat the teams of Potap, Sergei Sivokho, Yuri Gorbunov, Anton Lirnik and others.

Nevertheless, Anna often performed on stage with him. The team members did not object to the participation of such a family tandem. The couple was in no hurry to have children - both were passionate about creative life. In 2014, the Lastochkins had a son, Radmir.

Igor does not hide his personal life from fans. At one time, the comedian’s family lived in two cities: his wife and child were in the city of Kamensky (formerly Dneprodzerzhinsk), and meanwhile the actor worked in Kyiv. In an interview, Lastochkin complained that he spends little time with his family, so as soon as the opportunity arose, Igor moved his family to the capital of Ukraine.

Igor Lastochkin and Ilona Gvozdeva

Igor’s partner in “Dancing with the Stars” was choreographer Ilona Gvozdeva. The girl is lucky to train comedians: if in the 5th season of the show she danced with Lastochkin, then in the 4th – with his colleague Yuri Tkach. During the show, the couple surprised the audience not only with good dance steps, but also with unusual images and interesting performances.

Igor Lastochkin and Ilona Gvozdeva performed many dance styles: jive, fusion, quickstep, Argentine tango, Bollywood, foxtrot, funk, samba, cha-cha, waltz, lyrical jazz, paso doble. And one day Tkach himself joined them - the three of them performed a freestyle. And this dance became one of the most striking in the history of the show.

In 2020, it became known that Igor left Once Upon a Time in Russia. The Ukrainian citizen was bullied by his compatriots, while in Russia some viewers accused him of a two-faced position. Lastochkin decided to leave the project.

In 2018, Igor Lastochkin also became a dancer, and what a dancer at that! The TV channel “1+1” invited him to its popular dance show “Dancing with Stars”. The comedian started participating in the project absolutely from scratch, having never done choreography before - and won.

In the final, the Lastochkina couple unexpectedly beat such jury favorites and public favorites as Irakli Makatsaria and Lesya Nikityuk. Having received the coveted Cup, Igor admitted that it was very difficult, and many times he thought about giving up and quitting the show. But the comedian was constantly stopped by the insane support of TV viewers who simply bombarded him with admiring messages.

“Once Upon a Time in Russia”: from stage to TV screen

In 2013, the Dnepropetrovsk team stopped playing in KVN, and its captain Igor Lastochkin started joking on the stage of the Comedy Club Dnepr Style. After some time, he was invited to take part in the new TNT project “Once Upon a Time in Russia” and the guy, along with other former KVN players, began to act out funny skits on air on the Russian TV channel.

The show's ratings were quite high. The participants were able to make witty jokes and “puzzle” officials, football referees, and popular personalities. Igor was especially good at absurd characters, deceived husbands and insecure guys. It is known that the scripts for the show are prepared by the authors, but the participants supplement them with their own jokes and ideas on how to make the images even more interesting.

Simultaneously with his participation in the show, Lastochkin took an active part in Ukrainian humorous projects and worked on several television channels at once. He managed to live and work in two countries, realizing his talent and expanding his number of fans.
