Lyudmila Gurchenko: “plastic surgery” killed her?
May 25, 2011 Our article was not written to “disturb someone else’s laundry.” Following the ancient Romans, we will not talk bad about the deceased and gossip. We will try to look with different eyes at the one who left this life. For something that seems simple and easy, but in reality it is not. Take a look at what may have escaped the gaze of the mocking crowd...The constant “pouring from empty to empty” is carried out by those who are just looking for the next vulgarity, disgusting or abomination to write about the “stars”. Newspapers and the Internet are full of this. Even books are written about it!
Lyudmila Gurchenko has had 8 plastic surgeries.
So much has been written about the now deceased Lyudmila Gurchenko. Starting, by the way, with the “scoops”, when in 1957 after “Carnival Night”, wanting to destroy her as an artist, they threw newspaper mud at her. They managed to “hide her in the shadows” for 15 years. The continuers of the work of great nonentities did not calm down until her death, following every step, inventing new “sensations”...
Well, don’t you want to say, dear author, that Gurchenko’s endless plastic surgeries are a fiction? No, I don't want to say. True, some adjustments are required.
Firstly, not “infinite”, but eight. Maybe more, but your question, dear inquisitive reader, is not about the number of operations, of course, but just to once again roll your eyes and gasp: this is what...
You can be excused. After all, there was not a single article about the artist’s operations where the so-called “journalist” did not mock, did not attribute his idea, “for the sake of words,” so to speak, to “psychologism.” Her eyes hurt, she didn’t come to the concert due to illness - all of this, of course, is “the consequences of numerous plastic surgeries, for which the star is a record holder.” These “fortune tellers” will not fail to mention the actress’s age and her workload, but they just don’t take into account that with such activity at 70 years old it is simply impossible not to get sick.
Yes, they don’t hide their “bazaar” character! Just look at the words they use for evidence: “probably”, “they say”, “there were rumors”. Even when expressions like “as we know” appear, how it became known is not said. They immediately slap on the doctor’s comment, but the question he is asked is general, and not about a specific case. And all this should convince us that Gurchenko is an “enemy of society”?!
What about the facts? The way they are presented speaks for itself. Let's look at the chronology presented by a correspondent of one of the Russian newspapers:
- 1963 - a face untouched by plastic surgery.
- 1973 - there may have been a nose job. The nose has become different. The tip is lowered, which is very noticeable.
- 1981 - I don’t see any surgical intervention. The face is clearly aging. (I wonder who this “I don’t see” is? A professor of plastic surgery? Unfortunately, the unfortunate author did not bother to explain...).
- 1986 - clearly successful plastic surgery of the face and neck, plastic surgery of the upper and lower eyelids was performed. The face became younger. (Here we can partly agree. The face really looks younger. The photo doesn’t lie. Is it true, from the operations? Or maybe she’s just taking care of herself?).
- 1987 - something was done to the cheekbones (“Something” - what is it? Please explain, Mr. “Professor”, I’m writing it down...). Or they inserted some kind of prosthetic bones, making cheekbones, or pumped him up with something. At that time, apart from silicone, nothing else was pumped in.
- 2005 - probably had a facelift before that. In my opinion, the nose has been operated on again, because the nostrils have been trimmed. (“Probably”, “in my opinion”... Just some kind of criminologist!) Usually the rounded nostril comes out of the nasolabial fold, but here it seems to be at a right angle. The nostrils have become smaller. The shape of the eyes became narrowed. Something happened to the eyebrows. The face clearly has gel pumped into it. Maybe they even did her cheekbones again. The mouth is twisted. A hollow has appeared between the nose and lip - the nose extends in one direction, and the hollow in the other direction. It is possible that this is a consequence of unsuccessful plastic surgery. (So many assumptions for a small paragraph! Shame on you, “professor”...) And this happens to people when a cerebrovascular accident occurs (This means that there are still exceptions to “operational” reasons, dear!).
- 2010 - she definitely had a nose job. The nostril is not rounded and the scar is visible. And her end wing cartilage has split in the middle, so her nose seems to bifurcate at the end and is wide. Lumps have appeared around the nasolabial fold - these are the gels migrating, and that is why the face looks so bad.
- The end of 2010 is not a good look, just a “Michael Jackson mask.” Perhaps Botox was injected. The face became different. In this case, the “rejuvenation” was unsuccessful. But it’s not often that you can turn a 75-year-old into a 40-year-old.
Well, thank you for recognizing at least some benefit in these operations. Otherwise, everyone just heckled the man for his desire to maintain his artistic form. They say he looks young in his old age, but everyone can see everything. Fools! You can’t see it from the audience, that’s the main thing.
And there is no need to prove that this was the main thing for Lyudmila Markovna. For those who knew her, it is not necessary. You can't prove it to fools anyway. But for you, dear readers, I will give you a few statements from various publications. From them, I hope, you will be able to understand, you will be able to see the truth. Moreover, it contains the words of the artist herself:
“Why did she do this? The actress was terrified that she would be “written off.” “After the success of Carnival Night, I had a very difficult period of oblivion,” admitted Gurchenko. - I dealt with it. But I don’t want this to happen again!”
“Fate will squeeze a good person, squeeze him and let him go, but if they spit in your back, it means you are going ahead.”
“...When this severe leg injury happened, she told the correspondent: “Even if I’m in a wheelchair, but I’ll return to the stage!”
“In response to the words of the surgeons, who dissuaded her from another operation, she firmly stated: “Do it, I said!” I must be beautiful!
“I will do plastic surgery until the day I die!” - Now do you understand her inflexibility? And not one of the surgeons accused Gurchenko of some strange stupidity or childish glamor. Doctor Alexander Teplyashin: “The main thing is that she was full of strength, which forced her to go on stage, to catch the elusive light of the spotlights - only under it she lived...” Surgeon Sergei Kulagov: “I bow to the femininity of this actress, to the fact that she always looked stylish, modern, fashionable, and therefore did not leave the stage, but remained in demand..."
And Dr. Andrei Zvonkov even says this: “If she weren’t interested in plastic surgery, she would have left the screen long ago. Where do you see Brigitte Bardot? And no one would now grieve so much for Gurchenko, who showed an example of courage, an example of the fact that you can shine on stage even at her age. She gave it her all. Yes, perhaps I went too far with plastic. But even at 75 years old, everyone was looking at her.”
What kind of frivolity can we even talk about here? Read the interview with her. How can a superficial person, speaking about his father, cite his words: “Fate will squeeze a good man, squeeze him, and then let him go, but if they spit in your back, it means you are going ahead.” No wonder she remembered them exactly! They helped her in difficult times and allowed her to look at life and other people correctly.
And in conclusion, one more thought. Yes, by the way. When Lyudmila Markovna left this sinful world, many media outlets began to assert with the same unsubstantiated confidence that her death was the result of a large number of plastic surgeries. The official conclusion of the doctors is pulmonary embolism (PE). I give an extract from several medical sources, where I highlight possible reasons:
The official conclusion of the doctors is that Lyudmila Gurchenko died from pulmonary embolism.
“PE is an acute blockage of the branches of the pulmonary artery by blood clots formed in the veins of the systemic circulation. The immediate cause is a blood clot that has migrated into the pulmonary artery from the location in the body where it formed. Most often - from the deep veins of the legs in the thigh - pelvic area. The formation of a blood clot in a vein occurs as a result of various reasons, for example, increased blood clotting, diseases of the leg veins, and the installation of various catheters into the leg veins during surgical procedures. The occurrence of thrombosis in the iliofemoral region is also facilitated by limited mobility, for example, during long air flights, forced long-term bed rest in the postoperative period, etc.”
Even just glancing over the names of diseases and conditions, you can choose more than one reason for Lyudmila Markovna. Yes, among them are the consequences of operations, but not on the face and chest. Of course, as one of the accompanying, predisposing factors, plastic surgery can cause sepsis and accelerate the development of heart disease. In this regard, I remember an expression that very accurately conveys the essence of earthly existence: “Life is a dangerous thing: people die from it.” Constant movement, working hard, blows of fate, age and illness, operations and worries - all together can lead to death.
Let’s not say what we don’t know for sure. By what right do we even talk about someone’s life? Can we judge someone for doing or not doing something? There is only one answer, the most correct: NO! Simply because we are not HE or SHE, and we do not know the internal motives of a person’s behavior, his external and internal conditions. Why did he do this? We don't know. The veil of uncertainty closes the soul...
Gurchenko disfigured herself with yet another plastic surgery
Doctors refused to perform plastic surgery on the actress, since at her age such experiments on the body could lead to inevitable death. But, despite the doctors’ warnings, Lyudmila Markovna again went under the knife. Her goal was to hide her age. It’s not for nothing that Gurchenko is called a living legend of Soviet cinema.
The actress managed to surpass many world stars in the number of plastic surgeries. Among Russian stars, she is simply a record holder! However, this is not what motivates the celebrity: Lyudmila Markovna wants to show everyone her victory over age.
The last operation that the 73-year-old A-list star underwent was a circular facelift. This most complex procedure was performed by the best Moscow plastic surgeon Alexey Rubin from the Lancet clinic. Gurchenko was dissuaded from the operation by the entire clinic staff. However, the star could not be convinced.
The facial surgery performed by Alexey Rubin lasted about six hours. Thanks to his professionalism, Rubin managed to improve the condition of the artist’s skin. But this task turned out to be extremely difficult, since due to a number of operations on her face, the actress’s skin became very thin.
Gurchenko spent two days in the clinic under the supervision of doctors. Now, the star is resting at home, where her personal doctors are monitoring her health. However, the result of the operation will be visible only after a month.
“After such an operation, swelling and hematomas subside only after a few weeks,” doctors say, “but only if the operation was successful and the skin is quickly restored.
This operation was the eighth for the Russian cinema star. Previously, Lyudmila Gurchenko had plastic surgery on her eyes, nose and lips.
With each operation, doctors are more and more proud of the actress’s courage.
“At this age, such operations are very dangerous. The body may simply not withstand anesthesia,” says plastic surgeon Sergei Blokhin, MD. “Moreover, the consequences of anesthesia can appear in a month or two.
Before each operation, plastic surgeons report the negative consequences of such an intervention. Not only does the skin become thinner, but it also atrophies. But Lyudmila Markovna came to terms with this long ago. Gurchenko speaks with respect about his age. “What can I hide when on the very first page of my book it is written: “I was born on November 12, 1935.” Hide? Stupid." Source: showbiz.siteua.org
Victims of plastic surgery
Donatella Versace
Age:
55 years Having headed the Versace fashion house, the sister of the famous fashion designer began a long experiment with her appearance.
It wasn’t limited to trips to spa salons and solariums. Donatella decided to increase her breast size, correct the shape of her nose and lips, and also get several lifts. Ironically, only mammoplasty was successful. Quote:
“I just now realized that I am a mother and wife, and not a Barbie doll. It took me too long to realize that real beauty is not on the outside, but on the inside.”
Masha Malinovskaya Age:
29 years “If someone is dissatisfied with their appearance, they need to go to a surgeon,” the TV presenter advises.
“But such procedures should be done already in adulthood, when your body has formed.” She herself assures that in her entire life she has “only done one plastic surgery” - to correct the shape of her nose. As for her breasts and lips, which Angelina Jolie herself would envy, Masha continues to insist: Mother Nature gave her such a generous gift. Quote:
“If someone decided to make a selection of articles about me that have been published over the past seven years, the word “silicon” would in total exceed the number of all other words. From which we can conclude that I eat it. I also drink. I also apply it to my head when it hurts.”
Janice Dickinson Age:
55 This year, “the world’s first supermodel,” as she likes to call herself, celebrated a significant anniversary.
However, he still looks... no older than 30 years old. The owner of the “Witch Janice Model School” does not hide the secret of her youth - regular plastic surgeries: liposuction, breast augmentation, figure correction, neck and face lifting, as well as Botox injections two to three times a year. The son and daughter had long since despaired of dissuading their mother from regular visits to the clinic. Janice remains deaf to any arguments, because she is sure that it is plastic surgery that helps her stay “in such great shape.” Quote:
“I want to look even better than I am. Let me be a corpse, but a perfect-looking corpse.”
Lyudmila Gurchenko Age:
74 years Last year, the legend of Soviet cinema again turned to the specialists of one of the Moscow clinics.
Doctors are tired of warning Lyudmila Markovna that at this age, plastic surgery is very dangerous - the body does not tolerate anesthesia well, and the skin “atrophies and becomes thin, like parchment.” But will she listen to them? The actress first decided to undergo surgery in her youth (changed the shape of her eyes), and since then she has continued her unequal struggle with either wrinkles or bags under her eyes. Quote:
“I have been such a beauty since birth! With a large forehead and protruding ears. Dad said: “Nothing, they’ll put on make-up - everything will be in order!”
Joan Rivers Age:
76 In 2008, the comedienne, known for her sharp tongue, released a book in which she spoke candidly about plastic surgery.
“Men are stupid,” she consoled women unhappy in love from the pages. “Little secrets of plastic surgery will help you always look attractive.” Joan knows what she's talking about. Rhinoplasty, blepharoplasty, face and neck lifting, plastic surgery of the buttocks and waist, correction of cheekbones and lower jaw, breast augmentation... - it’s difficult to find an operation that she hasn’t tried. The actress likes to remember how one day the plastic surgeon Steve, whom she had known for many years, “kicked her out of the office, refusing to do a new operation.” Quote:
“I have always followed the motto: “It’s better to have a new face and an old car than a new car and an old face.”
Elena Proklova Age:
56 years Looking at the host of the “Malakhov+” program, how can one imagine that this year she will be one step closer to her sixtieth birthday!
“I had blepharoplasty, enlarged my lips with collagen injections, and Botox helped me change the line of my eyebrows, and I was delighted with the result” - Elena Proklova is probably our only star who does not hide her love for plastic surgery. “Plastic surgery helps me stay young,” she is sure. Quote:
“A woman should do anything to be beautiful and happy with this circumstance. For the sake of her peace of mind, positive attitude and moral satisfaction, she can do plastic surgery, lifts, and other anti-aging procedures. It's the right thing to do and it makes sense."
Jocelyn Wildenstein Age:
69 years old The wife of billionaire Alec Wildenstein could have become famous for her passion for expensive things, but instead she became famous thanks to her ... unsuccessful plastic surgeries.
Fearing the loss of her husband, who had become cold towards her over the years, twenty years ago she decided to take a desperate step - she asked the surgeons to turn her... into a “catwoman”. The surprise for his beloved was not a success - Alec, of course, doted on his pets, but he did not want to live with the “cat”. After the divorce, the unhappy Jocelyn continued her transformation. To date, she has undergone more than 10 facelifts, several surgeries to correct the shape of her cheeks, chin and lips, as well as countless Botox injections. Quote:
“Each of us has our own reasons for having surgery. Some people want to stop time, others want to get rid of their complexes. And someone is afraid that their husband will leave for a young Russian model and, even worse, cut off access to finance. So they find no other solution other than to reincarnate as his favorite animal.”
Sergey Zverev Age:
46 years old There was a time when the stylist claimed in an interview that he turned to plastic surgeons for help to “correct the consequences of a car accident.”
This story was ideal for correcting the shape of the nose, but somehow it didn’t fit in with increasing the shape of the lips. When the journalists finally “tormented” Sergei with questions, he admitted that it was not injury that brought him to the specialists, but a desire to change his appearance. Quote:
“I used to get smacked on my lips. And now everyone wants to be like me. Plastic surgeons are crying: they have a problem with patients who come with my photographs.”
Masha Rasputina Age:
51 The pop diva has always believed that “a small correction of appearance will not harm anyone.”
She performed her first plastic surgery after the birth of her daughter Masha - she completely restored her shape after childbirth, and also changed the shape of her lips and breasts. Then there was the nose, chin, eye shape... - the singer does not like to talk about all the parts of the body that she had to correct. We only know that one of the Moscow clinics still misses one of its beloved patients. Quote:
“I'm happy! But this is reflected in appearance. You can undergo several expensive plastic surgeries from the best surgeons and remain dissatisfied with the result. And all because there is no love inside and no loved one nearby.”
Igor and Grishka Bogdanov Age:
60 years old The appearance of former French television stars at the evening in honor of the 150th anniversary of the Chopard brand made an indelible impression on the other guests.
Handsome in the past, today they reminded us of... alien creatures, which they themselves talked about 30 years ago in their science fiction programs. Posing for photographers, the brothers, who were in their seventies this year, looked more than strange: implants in the cheeks and chin, as well as Botox and fillers made them look like guests from other planets. Quote:
“We have never resorted to the help of plastic surgeons. I wonder why everyone asks us about this?
Was there a different scenario?
On February 12, 2011, while leaving her entrance, Lyudmila Gurchenko slipped and broke her hip.
This brilliant lady left us at the age of 75, but what is this period for such a charismatic personality, whose mere appearance on the screen attracted viewers like a magnet? Lyudmila Gurchenko took part in 96 films. Without a doubt, she would have brought this figure to a hundred if she had survived. Before the fatal turning point, the actress was active, starred in television shows, wrote a film script, and was thinking about directing. Perhaps we were expecting a modern version of “Station for Two” or a new “Love and Doves”. However, she failed to rewrite the script of her life. Everything could have been different if the actress had taken care of her musculoskeletal system in time.
It is logical to assume that Gurchenko had osteoporosis. The official cause of death was heart failure caused by thromboembolism. To put it simply, the pulmonary artery was blocked by a blood clot, causing the heart to stop. But the nature of the injury - a fracture of the proximal femur - eloquently indicates osteoporosis. Lack of movement after a fall often leads to blood stagnation, blood clotting is impaired, and thrombus formation increases.
Probably, in 1.5 months Lyudmila Markovna was unable to recover from the injury; even surgery did not help. Due to decreased activity, blood flow was disrupted and blood vessels began to become clogged.
The osteoporosis version is supported by the fact that Gurchenko had already seriously broken her leg in 1977, when she was 42 years old. She crashed on a skating rink (the bone shattered into 19 pieces) during the filming of the film “Mom”. And this is clearly not an accident. Apparently, the weakening of bone tissue began even then. If she had consulted a doctor about osteoporosis in time, she would have remained alive. It’s a pity that even the stars in our country are little aware of such a dangerous disease!
Did you know that bone loss begins after 30, when a person is still in the prime of life? 40 years is the milestone after which it is vitally important to prevent osteoporosis. At the same time, physical exercise and proper nutrition are only half the battle; it is equally important to monitor hormone levels.
By the way, ladies with an asthenic physique, which is what the actress had, are at risk - their bones are especially thin. The wasp waist of Lenochka Krylova performed by Gurchenko from “Carnival Night” amazed the whole country, but this same extraordinary slimness played a cruel joke on her.
Another argument in favor of the fact that the film actress had osteoporosis is the fact that she suffered from rheumatoid polyarthritis. And against this background, a dangerous bone disease often develops.
Doctors named Gurchenko's last words before his death
Lyudmila Gurchenko, who died the day before at the age of 76, will be buried on April 2 at the Novodevichy cemetery. The civil funeral service will take place at the House of Cinema, the Moscow government reports.
The actress's cause of death was complications caused by an operation she underwent in February. Then Gurchenko broke her femoral neck, just leaving the hospital, where she was admitted due to coronary heart disease and angina.
The ambulance doctors, who arrived 20 minutes later at the call of the actress’s husband, fought for Gurchenko’s life for 30 minutes. The attack struck her almost immediately - she only managed to say that she was in great pain, that it was difficult to breathe, and then lost consciousness, one of the doctors told the publication.
Condolences to the artist's family and friends were expressed by politicians and cultural figures, including President Dmitry Medvedev, Prime Minister Vladimir Putin, Minister of Culture Alexander Avdeev, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, artists Oleg Basilashvili, Alexander Kalyagin, Alexander Shirvindt, directors Pyotr Todorovsky and Andrei Konchalovsky and others.
In a telephone conversation immediately after the operation, Gurchenko asked not to write the words “great”, “beautiful”, “loved by millions”, “deserved”, “extraordinary” about her. “Just write - Lyudmila Gurchenko. I don’t like all this pathos,” the actress explained. She was, as always, optimistic and planned to start moving independently soon.
Recalling her biography, Gurchenko noted that due to her refusal to cooperate with the KGB, she was “destroyed by poverty” for 20 years: “No apartment, no registration, no money - just fame and popularity! During the years when I wasn’t filming, all sorts of things happened. Including suicidal things. They didn’t offer me film roles, but I had canteens, mines, and prisons where I performed. She came out and smiled: “Hello, comrades!” They threw stones at your back, but dad said: “If they spit at your back, it means you are moving forward!” Believe me, I know the most bitter and bleak sides of life. But I can and know how to be devoted to the viewer to the end. Let people say that I have had many marriages. Not one, not two. And let it be a lot. But everyone is honest. And not vice versa. You humiliate me - I'm sorry. Then I pack my suitcase and leave.”
The article dedicated to Gurchenko notes the actress’s versatility and creative courage. “The enchanting Gurchenko became the “sacred monster” of genre, musical cinema, replacing Lyubov Orlova and endowing this type with democratic human traits that were in demand during the Khrushchev Thaw. But at the same time, there was always another Gurchenko - an acutely dramatic actress, prone to artistic psychoanalysis, fearlessly, to the detriment of external gloss, penetrating into the feminine essence of her heroines on stage and in front of the camera. Even among well-trained Hollywood professionals, there are not many actresses who can shine in such a wide range of genres,” writes the source.
“She disappeared from cinema more than once at the height of her fame and appeared again at the moment when nothing new seemed to be expected from her. Having almost left the screen in the form of a young and naive girl, she returned in the form of an experienced, tired, but never giving up woman.
Even more courage and audacity, sometimes on the verge of a foul, was required from her in the rank of a star of the first magnitude. Always recognizable in her signature, eccentric acting style, Gurchenko showed a rare for a famous actress penchant for experimentation, and sometimes for challenge and shocking: the last such challenge was her directorial debut - the film “Motley Twilight”, for which she herself wrote the music, she played the main role and sang herself.”
Lyudmila Gruchenko, biography:
Lyudmila Markovna Gurchenko was born on November 12, 1935 in Kharkov. In 1953, she entered the All-Union State Institute of Cinematography in Moscow on the course of Sergei Gerasimov and Tamara Makarova.
As a student at VGIK, in 1956 she starred with great success in the comedy film “Carnival Night” by the young director Eldar Ryazanov in the role of Lenochka Krylova. It was in this film that Gurchenko established herself as an actress with bright vocal and pop abilities, and the song “Five Minutes” in her performance instantly spread throughout the country, becoming very popular.
In 1958, after graduating from the institute, Gurchenko starred in the film “Girl with a Guitar.” Until 1964, she worked at the Film Actor Studio Theatre, and then from 1964 to 1966 at the Sovremennik Theater, where Gurchenko played mostly minor roles and participated in crowd scenes.
In the 1960s, a number of films with her participation were released - “Walking”, “The Man from Nowhere”, “The Marriage of Balzaminov”, “A Bridge is Being Built”. These were mainly supporting roles, which did not bring the actress much popularity, but, of course, added to her creative baggage.
In the 1970s, musical films starring Lyudmila Gurchenko were released literally one after another. In 1972, she starred in the film “Tobacco Captain”, two years later - in “Straw Hat”, in 1975 the film “Sky Swallows” was released, in 1977 - the film “Mother”.
In the film “Old Walls” (1974) directed by Viktor Tregubovich, Gurchenko played an “age role” for the first time with great success. For creating the image of Anna Georgievna in this film, she was awarded the 1976 RSFSR State Prize in the field of cinema.
Among the best films of Lyudmila Markovna are such films as “Twenty Days Without War” by Alexei German, “Sibiriyada” by Andrei Mikhalkov-Konchalovsky, “Five Evenings” by Nikita Mikhalkov, “Station for Two” and “Old Nags” by Eldar Ryazanov, “The Mechanic’s Beloved Woman” Gavrilov" by Pyotr Todorovsky, "Flights in dreams and in reality" by Roman Balayan. For her role as Vera in “Station for Two” at the XVI All-Union Film Festival, Gurchenko was awarded the prize for best actress.
One of the main components of Lyudmila Gurchenko’s creative career was concert activity. The actress's stage shows are a one-man show, where she was the leading actor, the director, the set designer, and the costume designer. Gurchenko’s music albums, “Songs of War” and “Favorite Songs,” are also very popular. Lyudmila Markovna is the author of the books “My Adult Childhood”, “Applause, Applause”, “Ballet of Life”, “Lucy, Stop!”.
In 2010, Lyudmila Markovna made her debut as a director with the film “Motley Twilight.” The film was shot based on the original idea of Gurchenko herself; in the film she also acted as both a composer and an actress.
People's Artist of the USSR Lyudmila Markovna Gurchenko was awarded the Order of Merit for the Fatherland, II, III and IV degrees, and in 1994 she was awarded the State Prize of the Russian Federation in the field of literature and art. Her acting work has been awarded at various film festivals. In March 2010, Lyudmila Markovna was awarded the Nika film award in the category “For Honor and Dignity.”

However, the actress underwent prosthetic surgery the very next day. Her success was not guaranteed, since Gurchenko suffered for several years from chronic rheumatoid polyarthritis, and her advanced age did not add to her chances.
But the surgery went smoothly and recovery was slow but steady. Lyudmila Markovna, with the power of iron will, lifted herself out of bed, forcing herself to move around the apartment with the help of a walker.
