Alexey Shevchenkov, actor, director: biography, films

BIOGRAPHY

Alexey Shevchenkov was born in the city of Chernyakhovsk, Kaliningrad region. “My peers in our city, in fact, had two things to devote their lives to: sailing and sports. I was seriously involved in football, and sailor was a backup option,” admits Alexey. The future actor played in the Chernyakhov team “Progress” as a defender. At the age of 13, he came to Moscow, where he studied at the Soyuz sports school. However, a month after the start of his studies, the young man returned home.

The decision to become an actor was not spontaneous. Shevchenkov wanted this all his life, but believed that his dream was unrealizable: “I thought that people of this profession descend from somewhere on Olympus, and for a person from the provinces to be one of them is generally unattainable. It seemed to me that I had no chance of entering the theater institute at all. I grew up as a poorly educated person, I had poor speech... Not to mention the fact that I was small and unprepossessing. In short, a complete set of negative qualities for an actor. But I decided to try my luck anyway, so as not to regret later that I didn’t even try to enroll.” As a result, Alexey entered the acting department of LGITMIK the first time, taking the course of Dmitry Astrakhan.

Scandal in the life of an artist

Once the actor had to face a scandal in his life. It was not loud, but rather flowed between two people. Years later, the actor admitted that his relationship with director Armen Dzhigarkhanyan was extremely damaged. He noted that his former leader is capable of destroying everything in his path without much regret.

After the birth of his second daughter, the actor plucked up courage and approached the manager. Alexey was tired of huddling with his wife and children in the one-room apartment that the theater provided them with. At that time, he had already devoted a decent amount of time to the theater. The artistic director made it clear to him that he could not help. The actor asked permission to work and earn extra money on the side. He gave permission. Then the artist went to the Moscow Art Theater to see Oleg Tabakov. Dzhigarkhanyan found out about this and at a meeting of the corpses he called Alexei a traitor.

The actor recalled that he was allowed to earn extra money. It soon became clear that the anger was not caused by outside work, but by the director Tabakov, whom Armen did not like. Then the actor realized that the artistic director would take revenge on him. And so it happened. During filming, Alexey learned that another actor was hired instead of him.

After the conversation, the relationship completely deteriorated, and the artist left the theater. The artist today attributes such behavior to the appearance of Dzhigarkhanyan’s young mistress, Vitalina Tsymbalyuk-Romanovskaya. She took the post of head of the musical department in the theater. It was with its appearance that conflicts began to arise.

The actor admits that he is ready to do almost anything for the sake of his family. Therefore, he made a choice between Dzhigarkhanyan and Tabakov. And after numerous conflicts, I decided to choose the latter. As it turned out over time, he made the right decision.

THEATER

As a student, Alexey played in the Comedy Theater. Akimova. Some of his brightest roles of this time were the Author in the play “The Taming of the Shrew” and Robertino Loretti in the production of “Planet of Love”.

The fate of the actor was decided by chance. Before graduating from the institute, Shevchenkov became a laureate of the All-Russian theater competition "Entre". That year, Mark Rozovsky was on the jury of the competition, who, drawing attention to the talented young actor, invited him to Moscow.

Alexey settled in the capital almost immediately. He worked for a year at the MDT Theater in Chertanovo, where he played in the plays “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” and “Viy”. In 1996, the actor was accepted into the theater troupe under the direction of Armen Dzhigarkhanyan. Over the 14 years of work on the famous stage, the actor played many bright and varied roles, including the Governor in The Government Inspector, Julian in Tiny Alice, Sganarelle in Don Juan, Brakk in Hedda Gabler, and many other.

From 2010 to 2013, Shevchenkov was a member of the Moscow Art Theater troupe. Chekhov. The actor played in the plays “Cursed and Killed”, “The Seagull”, “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs”, “Lord Golovlevs”, “Live and Remember”, “Family Scenes”.

Personal life of Alexey Shevchenkov

Shevchenkov is married, his wife Olga is an actress. For many years she worked at Armen Dzhigarkhanyan’s theater, but soon after her husband’s quarrel with the director, they stopped giving her roles and then fired her. The artist met his wife at the theater: Olga woke up Alexei, who had fallen asleep on a cot after another “drunk rehearsal,” and at that very second won the artist’s heart.

The lovers signed at the registry office without witnesses. For another six months, the artist hid from everyone that he had gotten married: Alexey admitted that it was psychologically difficult for him to get used to his new “unfree” status. Interview with Alexey Shevchenkov (“Get a Star”) The couple has two daughters – Varvara (born in 2008). ) and Vasilisa (born 2010). Shevchenkov's wife devotes most of her time to her family and daughters, and also plays at the Literary Theater.

For many years, Alexey suffered from alcohol addiction, until one day he made a firm decision to quit drinking. According to the artist, the bad habit killed not only his profession, but also his life.

Alexey Shevchenkov was an alcoholic. Shevchenkov sings and plays the guitar well and from time to time performs concerts at various venues. In his free time in winter, the artist prefers to relax at home with his children, and in summer he tries to be in the garden more often.

MOVIE

The beginning of Alexey Shevchenkov’s film career can rightly be called successful. The actor made his film debut in 1993, playing the role of a student in Dmitry Astrakhan’s film “You Are the Only One for Me.” A year later, he starred in Kira Muratova’s film “Hobbies,” where he played a young jockey. The actor recalls: “It was pure luck. But then, to my shame, I had no idea what kind of director he was. At that time I had no division into good and bad directors. It seemed to me that any director is already a director with a capital D. And I really wanted to work, try myself with different directors. And it was sincere."

The actor’s collaboration with Muratova continued in the director’s new work, the film “Three Stories.” In the short story “Boiler Room No. 6” Alexey played the role of a homosexual.

The actor has more than 90 films under his belt, and he can be seen especially often in TV series. He starred in the films “Kamenskaya”, “March of Turetsky”, “Citizen Chief”, “Storm Gates”, “Large”, “Bay of Fear”, “Witchcraft Love”, “Real Dad”, “Lavrova’s Method”. It is noteworthy that the actor mainly plays negative characters. Alexey himself explains it this way: “There are some stereotypes that are impossible to interrupt, whether you want it or not. Well, I won’t be Brad Pitt, no matter what! Because in this profession it is not enough to be talented. You also have to be beautiful in it. That's probably true."

Alexey considers one of his main acting successes to be the role of Judas in the film of the same name by Andrei Bogatyrev, for which the artist received the 35th MIFF “Silver George” prize for the best performance of a male role. “It so happened that I was approved for the film without auditioning. Usually, even for the most seedy series, they will torture you with auditions, and suddenly - without auditions... Of course, I immediately thought: will this film happen? I had no doubt about Andrey (director of the film “Judas” - editor’s note). In general, I like it when young people don’t sit until they’re forty waiting for who knows what, but try to realize their talent. I believe in youth. I understand that to comprehend such a work as “Judas Iscariot” by L. Andreev, life experience is simply necessary. But young authors sense their time very well, very accurately, and express their thoughts through its prism,” says the actor.

In 2020, work on the multi-part film “Black Cat” by Anton Sivers was completed, in which Alexey played the role of Stepan Dzhuro. The plot centers on the history of a famous criminal gang operating in Moscow and the region in the early 1950s. The film also stars Maria Andreeva, Igor Petrenko, Ekaterina Guseva, Konstantin Lavronenko, and others.

The series is full of black humor and seemingly insoluble life situations, from which this extraordinary family always emerges with their heads held high.

The cast of the Russian “Shameless” At this time, Shevchenkov continued to act in several projects at once: this is a historical-themed series “A.L.ZH.I.R.”, a melodramatic family saga “Guardian Angel”, a social drama “Gerasim”, drama “Goryunov. INTERVIEW

About negative heroes

“The fact that directors offer me such roles does not depend on me. Whatever they offer, I agree to. You have to live. I try to justify my heroes. Do you think it’s nice to play terry scumbags?”

About the holidays

“I love March 8th. But I don’t like New Year. In my opinion, this is some kind of banal holiday. Everyone should definitely buy a Christmas tree. But I don’t like strict traditions.”

About food

“I have always been irritated by the idea that the way to a man’s heart is through his stomach. I never took the kitchen seriously. My wife cooks mostly for the children, but I don’t need much: I warmed up the sausage and ate it.”

Childhood and youth

Today you can increasingly see Dmitry Shevchenko on TV screens. Despite the fact that the actor plays mostly negative characters, he managed to gain great popularity.

Dmitry won the hearts of viewers immediately after the release of the film “Bourgeois’s Birthday,” where he played the role of the constantly beaten pimp Arturchik.

But who is he really - the favorite of women, the popular actor Dmitry Shevchenko today?

Family and parents

The future theater and film actor was born in Odessa on June 17, 1964. His family was not complete for long (his parents divorced), so his mother was mainly involved in raising his son.

She also instilled in Dima a love for the theater, since she had many friends among the actors. Dmitry’s mother and grandfather saw him as a future scientist; at a young age, the young man wrote a book with his grandfather.

But the boy was not destined to become a scientist: his love for the theater, instilled by his mother, was very great.

Dmitry had a good relationship with his father, they saw each other periodically. Memories include kayaking on mountain rivers, skiing, and expeditions.

At school, Dima was not an excellent student, and was not characterized by exemplary behavior, but the teachers did not give him “failures.”

Already at school, Dmitry Shevchenko took part in amateur performances. Then, like a significant part of the graduates, he entered the Odessa Polytechnic Institute at the Faculty of Economics.

During his studies, the future actor took part in productions of pop miniatures and was a member of the KVN team. Gradually, he began to dream of becoming an actor, and when he graduated from Polytechnic in 1986, he decided to enroll in LGITMiK.

When Dima arrived at the Kyiv Academy of Sciences, he met with the minister. Shevchenko probably made a good impression, because this meeting was fateful: after all, after it, Dmitry Valerievich almost immediately entered LGITMiK on the course of E. Padve.

Dmitry Shevchenko, whose biography is full of interesting events, graduated from LGITMiK in 1990. For almost a year after that, he worked in an informal theater with actors from Shanghai. They developed a production of one of G.-H.'s fairy tales. Andersen in the genre of Peking opera, but this project was destined to be closed due to lack of funding.

In 1991, Shevchenko performed several performances in the community of dramatic actors in St. Petersburg. He was noticed by a director from the St. Petersburg Academic Theater. A.S. Pushkin, and then invited to the troupe. Dmitry Shevchenko worked in this theater for five years.

During this time, he managed to play many roles, both major and minor. Dima loved the theater, but always dreamed of acting in films.

Since it seemed to Dmitry that it was impossible to combine theater and cinema, he packed his bags and moved to Moscow in 1997...

In Moscow, Dmitry began acting in videos by A. Ukupnik, F. Kirkorov, Valeria and many other famous musicians, thanks to which he gained some fame. He was invited to appear in an advertisement for Nezavisimaya Gazeta, and later in the film Mu-Mu.

It was then that the future star was noticed by Kyiv directors who were selecting actors for the series “Birthday of the Bourgeois”. Dmitry received the interesting role of pimp Arturchik, although this did not happen right away.

Actor Dmitry Shevchenko played his character superbly, so he immediately attracted the attention of the public to his person.

The range of characters played by Dmitry Shevchenko (his filmography includes dozens of films beloved by viewers) is very wide. This is a businessman in the film “Death by Will”, and a sculptor in the film “The Limit of Desires”, and a psychiatrist in “Family Secrets” by E.

Tsyplakova.

A television

In addition to cinema, Dmitry Shevchenko also tried himself on television. He was invited to the channel “1 1” as the host of the show “Honeymoon”.

The actor does not like to talk about personal things. His family life with Maria Shalaeva did not work out. His wife was seventeen years younger, and they met on the set of the film “Freshman,” where they played together.

Dima very often fell in love with his partners, but always advocated long-term relationships. The family was destined to break up after six years of marriage. The separation took place without scandals.

Most likely, life together did not work out due to the long separations of the spouses, since both of them were artists and constantly traveled to different cities.

Now Dmitry is a free man. He does not communicate with his son’s mother, although everything started out so beautifully. The news about the birth of a son was unexpected for Shevchenko. He accepted the child, but did not live with Maria. Moreover, he now has a hostile relationship with his ex-wife, which affects his communication with his son. It even happened that Dmitry met with him secretly.

The actor played in a considerable number of films, he got the main roles, and minor, and episodic. Thus, he played episodic roles in the following films: “Just One Turn” (1986), “Prison Romance” (1993), “Kingdom of the Crooked...” (2005), “Not by Bread Alone” (2005).

He was invited to the main roles in the following films: “Twenty Minutes with an Angel” (1989), “The Zinc Boys” (1993), “A Special Occasion” (2000), “The Shield of Minerva” (2002), “The Freshman” (2002), “Poor Nastya” (2003-2004), “Stargazer” (2004), “Lola and the Marquis” (2004), “Provincial Passions” (2006), “Kings of the Game” (2007), “The Limit of Desires” (2009), “Frozen” (2009), “Seven Wives of One Bachelor” (2009).

Dmitry Shevchenko played a huge number of minor roles; his filmography is very rich.

This is an incomplete list of films in which Dmitry Shevchenko showed his acting skills. And there are still many films ahead of him, which are sure to gain popularity among the audience, because Dima brings into them a piece of his soul - huge and bright.

The actor endows his characters with special charm and charisma. The viewer fell in love with each of them for their sincerity, and Dmitry for his ability to accurately convey their experiences and character.

I want to watch every film in which a popular actor has starred today.

And although Dmitry plays mostly negative characters, they not only attract attention: the viewer simply falls in love with the characters, with the liveliness of their characters, with their charm and even negative traits, and wants to see them in the next episodes of the film.

Dmitry Shevchenko is a professional theater and film actor. He delights the audience with his performance both on stage and on TV screens. And many thanks to him for this!

His roles are talented and multifaceted, and therefore our story today will certainly seem interesting to many readers. After all, Dmitry Shevchenko is an actor who has already acquired many personal fans for a very long time.

Our biographical article today, dedicated to the life and work of the popular actor, was written especially for them.

Our today's hero was born in warm and sunny Odessa. This is where the future actor spent his childhood. It was in this city that he first began to dream of a career in big cinema. However, as often happens, parents and relatives did not support Dmitry in this endeavor.
