Biography
Sergei was born in a small village in the Penza region. Despite the fact that there were no people in his family associated with the world of art, the boy dreamed of becoming an artist since childhood.
After graduating from school, the young man studied for two years at a local cultural school, and then set off to conquer Moscow. Sergei Marin was lucky, he entered the famous theater university - VGIK the first time: “I didn’t think that I would get in, it was a test of how lousy I was. In my hands I only had a piece of paper with the address of the university. The first time in Moscow, the first time in the subway, but it was with great sorrow that I got to the right place.”
The future actors had to read prose, a fable and a poem to the selection committee. Marin went on stage with Pushkin’s “Queen of Spades,” but lost his nerve from excitement. “I thought that I would return to my native village and live as before,” recalls Sergei. – And I was one of the lucky ones! Moreover, I missed the first two rounds, I was told to come only for the third! Only then did I call Dubrovki to please my family.”
After the third round, Sergei Marin was enrolled in the budget department of the acting department. Its leader was the wonderful artist Igor Yasulovich. In 2010, the actor received a diploma from a prestigious university.

So, the public does not know for certain whether Sergei Marin has a wife. There is also absolutely no information about the children of Sergei Marin. From time to time, on the vastness of the social network VKontakte, you can find messages that Sergey Marin has long been building a romantic relationship with a certain girl named Tatyana. Most likely, Sergei’s possible wife Marina comes from the artist’s native village. There is a possibility that the married couple is together today, but there are no details about their family on the Internet.
“I don’t think it’s right to talk about my personal life to a large public. Happiness loves silence. I understand that this topic is of interest to many fans, but it is personal. This should only concern me. I don’t know, maybe in the future I will tell you about my wife, children, etc., but now there is absolutely no need for this,” notes Marin.
It is also known that the actor prefers to publish personal photos on the Internet very rarely. Again, it is not possible to find photographs in which a celebrity of Russian cinema and theater is captured in the company of a possible wife on the Internet.
Cinema
The 23-year-old aspiring actor made his film debut immediately after graduating from VGIK. He got the main role in the sensational film by Ilya Khotinenko “Biker”. The director put Shakespeare's characters on motorcycles and brought them into modern reality. Instead of Juliet - the billionaire's daughter Lena, instead of Romeo - a carefree rider, a charming biker slacker nicknamed Flame. This romantic story caused mixed reviews, but the film was seen by thousands of melodrama lovers. Sergei Marin was immediately noticed.
Sergei Ginzburg offered the artist a role in the serial film “The Life and Adventures of Mishka Yaponchik.” Marin appeared in the guise of criminal investigation inspector Osip Tor, or Osya. This noble, handsome and proud hero instantly captivated the hearts of the audience.
In 2012-2013, the actor’s most notable work was in the films: “Snipers: Love at Gunpoint,” “No Statute of Limitations,” “Give Me a Little Warmth,” “New Life,” “Healing.”
In the mini-series “Tariff on the Past,” somewhat similar to the famous “Butterfly Effect” with Ashton Kutcher only in a Russian way, Sergei played the role of the carefree Vitalik Shestakov. One day his hero had the opportunity to go back in time, which he was quick to take advantage of. When the young man returned back to his time, he realized that he had made a big mistake by interfering with the natural course of fate. And now all he can do is try to correct what he did.
2014 broke all records. Sergey Marin appeared in several projects, most of them in the central roles: “Happy Chance”, “Clean Water at the Source”, “I’m No Longer Afraid”, “Half a Kingdom for Love”. The most successful was the series “Orca,” where the actor played Captain Kirill Cherepanov. A new employee appears in the criminal police department of the city of Kostroma - Major Olga Kosatkina. Seasoned detectives fall in love with her like boys, and a real rivalry begins between them for the heart of the impregnable Orca.
In 2020, the film “The Past Can Wait” by Igor Nurislamov was released. Together with Marin, Tatyana Arntgolts, Sergei Peregudov and Svetlana Smirnova starred. In the story, cousins who have not seen each other for twenty years gather at the house of their late grandmother for the reading of the will. The bright childhood memories that relatives indulge in while waiting for the notary are overshadowed by mysterious “surprises” from the past.
Then Sergei Marin played in the 4-part film directed by Denis Eleonsky “Casanova’s Earring”. The history teacher has no luck with girls. One day, a magical artifact falls into his hands - Casanova's Earring, which gives its owner the opportunity to get any woman he wants.
Is Sergey Marin married?
Sergei Marin carefully hides his personal life from his fans. This is a rather rare case when almost nothing is known about the artist’s relationships with girls. Marin can talk for a long time and with pleasure about his filmography, share plans for the future, but as soon as journalists start talking about why he is still not married and whether he has a beloved, he becomes silent and makes it clear that he does not want to touch on this topic. Sergei admitted that he can only discuss personal matters with people close to him.
Marin was repeatedly credited with having affairs with film actresses. He starred in films with some of them and played so convincingly that one could believe in real sympathy between the actors. Sergei was suspected of having connections with Yulia Parshuta and Tatyana Kazyutich. But in fact, all these rumors turned out to be false.
Sergei’s relatives said that he had a girlfriend, Tatyana. They lived in the same village, and then love could not stand the test of distance. One of his friends admitted that Tatyana came to Sergei in Moscow and always supported him, she was very glad that he achieved such success. But the friend did not talk about whether the actor continued to meet with her.
Sergei Marin told fans that work takes up almost all of his free time and there is practically no energy left for his personal life. Perhaps in the near future he will take a break and find personal happiness or take his relationship with his long-term girlfriend to another level.
"Sofia"
Viewers are looking forward to the release of the multi-part film “Sofia”. This is the history of medieval Rus' through the eyes of Sophia Paleologus, the last heir to the Byzantine throne, wife of Moscow Prince Ivan III and grandmother of Ivan the Terrible. The main role will be played by actress Maria Andreeva, her husband Ivan will be played by Evgeny Tsyganov. Sergei Marin was also lucky enough to star in this large-scale series.
“No one has ever shot a historical series of this scale here, this will be a completely new product on the Russian television market,” general producer of the film Andrei Begunov told Izvestia. – Our film will be very authentic. At the same time, the reign of Ivan III is in many ways consonant with today. Under Ivan III's father Vasily, fragmentation and internecine wars reigned in Rus'. Russian lands were torn apart from all sides - both the Horde and the Grand Duchy of Lithuania. And then Ivan III appeared, whose will and intelligence made it possible to create a strong state, virtually without wars, but only thanks to his ingenious political strategy. This was the apogee of the confrontation between the Moscow Principality and Russian lands with the Great Horde. Its result was the famous confrontation on the Ugra River, when the Russian princes refused to pay tribute to the Mongol-Tatars. This is one of the key scenes of the plot - the greatest victory of the Russian army, and it happened without bloodshed: the Horde did not dare to cross the river, realizing the superiority of forces. This was a great tactical victory for Ivan III,” Begunov noted.
For filming on the territory of VDNKh, a set was even built for the Moscow Kremlin, corresponding to its historical appearance of the 15th century (at that time it was not the usual red color, but white), and the Assumption Cathedral.
Personal life
And now Sergei Mavrin’s personal life is inextricably linked with his work - it is difficult to find a line that would separate them. The musician has collected a large collection of guitars, stored in cabinets specially made for her. He calls himself a workaholic, so there is very little time left for sleep and rest.
Sergei Mavrin’s wife is already accustomed to her husband’s routine, which is far from the correct way of life. However, Sergei tries to take care of his health, so he became a vegetarian long ago.
But this is not the only reason he doesn’t eat meat - Mavrin loves animals very much and cannot imagine that they can be killed in order to eat. Sergei even gave up fishing, which he used to love, because he felt sorry for the fish.
Several dogs live in his house, which he took from a shelter or picked up on the street, and he periodically helps shelters for homeless animals. Sergei Mavrin’s wife is completely unanimous with her husband on this.
Sometimes Mavrin conducts master classes, combining creative meetings and an instrumental program, but not as often as he would like.
