The future star of Russian cinema was born on July 28, 1969 in a young family consisting of aspiring directors and actresses. The girl’s father, Vladimir Menshov, created one of the best films of Soviet cinema, “Moscow Doesn’t Believe in Tears.” For this work he was awarded the highest award - the Oscar. Her mother Vera Alentova played the main character in this film. Vera Alentova’s parents were also artists. Thus, the future of Yulia Menshova was almost immediately decided.
The girl spent her childhood surrounded by actors, screenwriters, and directors. First of all, it was necessary to submit three published articles, which she did not have, for a creative competition.

- 1994 - She tries herself as a TV presenter in the program “My Cinema,” the topic of which was close to her. The program aired on TV-6 Moscow and raised issues of cinema.
- 1995 One of the most successful, well-known television projects of Yulia, as a presenter and producer, was the author’s program “I Myself.” For six years, the young woman brought to public discussion acute problems that worried many Russian women. The recognition of the viewing audience and fruitful cooperation with the TV-6 Moscow channel did not go unnoticed.
- The talented TV presenter was highly appreciated by the guru of Russian television. She was offered the position of deputy director on her native channel in March 1997.
- 1998 - she becomes a manager at the independent broadcasting corporation of Moscow, where she performed her duties for 3 years.

One day they decided to live separately from each other; their daughter was only four years old at that time. Due to the constant employment of her parents, the girl was not given due attention, care and affection. The moment came when the couple decided to separate. They did not file applications for divorce, since in those years such an act was highly condemned by those around them and by Soviet society. Four years later, Vera and Vladimir began to live together again.
The TV presenter herself was in no hurry to get married, having learned from the example of her closest people what could await her in the future. Her choice settled on actor Igor Gordin, whom she married at the age of 27.
The couple had a son, Andrei, in 1997, and a daughter, Taisiya, in 2003. Oddly enough, the family life of the TV star repeated the scenario of her parents’ marriage. Banal fatigue, constant lack of sleep due to the crying of his little son Andrei, became the reason for the separation. Both spouses worked and barely slept at night.
