The childhood years of Boris Moiseev
According to the official version, voiced by Boris Mikhailovich Moiseev himself, the future shocking singer was born on March 4, 1954 in a women's colony, where his mother Genya Borisovna Moiseeva (real name Moises) was serving a sentence for a crime.
Boris is trying to assure the public that his mother was illegally repressed for a political crime. But Moiseev’s fellow countrymen, who knew Boris’s mother well, refute this version. As it turned out, in fact, Genya Borisovna lived all her life in Mogilev, worked at a local tannery and was never prosecuted. The woman, in addition to Boris, had two more sons who left our homeland and did not maintain relations with their mother.
Boris was a weak, sickly child. To improve the boy’s health, Genya Borisovna sent her son to a choreographic club. While studying in a club, the boy became truly interested in dancing and realized that this was his calling.
After graduating from high school, Boris decided to continue his choreographic education and went to the capital of the Belarusian SSR.
How is Boris Moiseev feeling, photo
After Boris Moiseev suffered a stroke several years ago, information periodically appears on the Internet and the media about the star’s deteriorating health, but it is not true.
Sergei Gorokh periodically refutes statements that Moiseev is completely bad. Now Boris Moiseev leads the life of a “retired artist” - he takes care of his health, walks, goes to Jurmala, communicates with friends and colleagues. Maintains friendly relations with Alla Pugacheva, Philip Kirkorov, Nelly Kobzon and other famous people.
66-year-old singer Boris Moiseev, who was unable to fully recover from a stroke, has been in a stable condition for the last three to four years. At the same time, he recognizes people and communicates normally with others.
Two years ago, information appeared in the media that Boris Moiseev was experiencing financial difficulties and could not pay for utilities for an apartment in Jurmala. The singer did not hide the fact that maintaining foreign apartments is expensive, but he denied the news about financial insolvency.

Dancing
Once in Minsk, Boris became a ballet student at the choreographic school (now the Belarusian State Choreographic Gymnasium-College). The young man’s mentor was the famous ballerina, Honored Artist of the Belarusian SSR Nina Mladinskaya. Although classical dance came easily to him, Boris constantly gravitated towards pop dancing.
After completing his studies, the young artist went to Ukraine, where he was enrolled in the troupe of the Kharkov Opera and Ballet Theater named after M.V. Lysenko (now the Kharkov National Academic Opera and Ballet Theater named after M.V. Lysenko) for the position of ballet dancer. During his time working at this theater, Moiseev was able to climb the career ladder to become a choreographer in a short period of time. But after a conflict situation, as a result of which Boris was expelled from the ranks of the Komsomol, he leaves this theater.
In 1975, Moiseev went to the Lithuanian SSR and got a job in the troupe of the Kaunas Musical Theater (now the Kaunas State Musical Theater). A short time later, Boris became the chief choreographer in an orchestra called Trimitas.
After living and working in Kaunas for three years, Moiseev created his own dance trio, called “Expression”. In addition to Boris himself, the trio included two girl dancers. For a long time, the trio actively collaborated with Alla Borisovna Pugacheva, actually being under the patronage of the Diva, thanks to which they took part in many festivals and competitions, including international ones.
In the second half of the 80s of the twentieth century, Moiseev decided to bring Expression out of the shadow of the great singer. The trio left the territory of the Soviet Union and was forced to perform in clubs in Western Europe. Ultimately, the dancers managed to get a job on the Italian channel RAI-2 and participate in the popular show Raffaella Cara Presents. Then fate brought Boris to the United States of America, where Moiseev was able to get a job as a production director at the municipal theater of the city of New Orleans.
Biography and personal life of Boris Moiseev
The biography and personal life of Boris Moiseev began in Mogilev prison. Our hero's father is unknown. Mother, Genya Borisovna Moiseeva, received a prison sentence for political reasons. Boris has two older brothers, born from another man. This became known as a result of a DNA test conducted on Lera Kudryavtseva’s “Secret for a Million” program.
From childhood, the baby was a shy and sickly child. At the age of 3, he was already doing dance steps to music. Already at the age of 4 he began dancing in a choreographic circle. This became an outlet for Boris. But he didn’t like studying at school. He was bothered by the study of mathematics and other sciences.
After graduating from the 8th grade of school, Moiseev decides to leave his home and continue studying the art of dance. He becomes a student at the Minsk School, where he honed his choreographic skills. His teacher was the prima ballet Nina Mlodzinskaya. She believed that the student had great talent and predicted a brilliant future for him.
After graduating from the choreographic school, our hero went to Kharkov, where he danced in the ballet troupe of the local theater. Later, Boris even began to stage dance performances.
In the 70s he went to work in the Kaunas musical theater. After a short time, the man began performing with two partners. It was at this time that the trio was noticed by pop star Alla Pugacheva. After performing in “Christmas Evenings,” Boris became incredibly popular. He performed not only in front of audiences in his own country, but his art was applauded by Italians, French and Americans.
In the early 90s, the famous dancer began performing songs. His vocal abilities began to interest the public. He has sung with many celebrities. The artist’s best vocal projects are the compositions “Blue Moon”, “The Nutcracker”, “Star”. Videos were shot for many of his songs.
A man performed as a participant in the show program “Two Stars”. His partner was comedian Elena Vorobey. But they were never destined to become the winners of the second season.
The busy touring schedule was suspended after suffering a stroke. He is still trying to recover. Moiseev only sometimes agrees to concert performances. But Boris can only sing 1-2 songs.
During his creative activity, Moiseev was awarded a large number of prizes and awards. The artist calls the recognition of a multi-million television audience his best reward.
He played as a dancer in several films. He considers his best works to be his roles in “The Season of Miracles,” “Crazy Day or The Marriage of Figaro,” “Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves” and “The Golden Key.”
Nothing is known about the artist’s personal life. For a long time it was believed that he was gay. But a few months ago, Boris said that he had invented this in order to attract public attention to his person. Moiseev was never married, although he was half a step towards it.
Music career
After the Soviet Union collapsed and liberals seized power in the Russian Federation, Boris Moiseev decided to return. Soon after returning to the country's screens, a documentary film was released dedicated to the activities of the Express trio. In 1992, on the basis of this trio, a show group was created, called “Boris Moiseev and His Lady,” and the dancer himself began his career as a singer. In 1995, the show group was transformed into a show theater. The first performance staged on the stage of this theater was called “Child of Vice.” In 1996, Moiseev released his first solo album with the same name.
The performances carried out by Moiseev have gone beyond dance performances. During the concerts, Boris not only sang and danced, but also tried to amaze the audience with various shocking antics. Of the compositions included in the artist’s first album, the hits were “Child of Vice,” “Egoist,” and “Tango Cocaine.” The second solo album, called “Holiday! Holiday!”, was released by Moiseev in 1998.
At the end of the 90s of the last century, the singer performed three more compositions that became hits: solo – “Deaf and Mute Love”, and in a duet with Nikolai Trubach – “Blue Moon” and “Nutcracker”.
Over the next few years, Moiseev released a hit every year. In 1999 - “Asterisk”, in 2000 - “Two Stars”, in 2001 - “Sexual Revolution”. In 2004, Boris, in a duet with Lyudmila Markovna Gurchenko, recorded the composition “Petersburg - Leningrad”, which became popular and received many prizes.
In 2009, Moiseev celebrated his fifty-fifth birthday with pomp. At the anniversary show, called “Dessert,” such national pop stars as Joseph Kobzon, Laima Vaikule, Nadezhda Babkina and many others performed.
After the anniversary concert, Moiseev recorded two more albums, after which he disappeared from the stage for a long time. This disappearance is caused by a sharp deterioration in the performer's health. The new album, called “Pastor. The Best of Men,” the singer was able to record only in 2012. The lyrics of the compositions included in this album were distinguished by their philosophical depth. A little later, Boris, in a duet with Kristina Zbigniewska, recorded the song “Give me a reason to stay.”
Then followed a new two-year break, after which Moiseev recorded two new compositions: in a duet with Stas Kostyushkin - “I am a baller,” and “It doesn’t matter” in a duet with Irina Bilyk.
Evgeny Fridlyand, a producer who has worked with Moiseev for about twenty years, stated that all of the performer’s performances were accompanied by a soundtrack, explaining this by the fact that it is simply impossible to perform songs live and actively move around the stage. In addition, Moiseev himself has repeatedly stated that these are not concerts, but comedy-drama performances. During his performances, Boris not only dances and sings, but also communicates with the audience and talks about various funny situations.
According to the stories of people from the artist’s inner circle, Boris is a real workaholic who has not refused a single proposed project or planned concert. This is what became the main cause of health problems. Moiseev has repeatedly admitted that he brought himself to this state by simply driving himself.
Boris Moiseev's last major performance took place in St. Petersburg in April 2020. After this, for more than a year, there was no information about the artist. The only thing the fans knew was that Boris was alive and in Moscow.
And only in September 2020, Moiseev appeared in public again, taking part in the program “Secret for a Million” aired on the NTV channel. The program caused a lot of rumors among fans, because Boris, opening the envelope with the final question, was simply amazed. After this, an obscene statement came from the artist’s lips, and the envelope with the question was immediately burned.
Moiseev made his next public appearance only in 2020, appearing before fans in an unexpected way. At Nadezhda Babkina's solo concert, Boris worked as a ticket cashier. The fans were amazed. After all, first the concert director Moiseev went to work for Babkina, and now Boris himself got a job with the singer in such a modest position. But even in this position, Boris behaved naturally, not embarrassed by his position, sold tickets and willingly communicated with the public.
Later it became known that this was part of the “Star Box Office” campaign, in which, in addition to Moiseev, Nadezhda Babkina and Sergei Kolesnikov participated.
“Borya doesn’t recognize anyone”: Moiseev was “buried” alive 10 years after the stroke
For more than a year, Boris Moiseev has not appeared in public at all. All attempts by journalists to contact the artist and find out how he lives are in vain: his director Sergei Gorokh suppresses any communication with his ward.
10 years ago, Boris Moiseev suffered a stroke and, alas, was never able to return to his former life. The diagnosis and complete uncertainty about the artist’s current condition - all this, apparently, has led to the fact that in secular circles they are whispering louder and louder about the possible death of Boris Moiseev. According to another version, he, once a star and close friend of Alla Pugacheva, was placed either in an elite nursing home or in a closed VIP sanatorium...
To dispel rumors and find out the truth about the artist’s condition, Sobesednik.ru correspondents turned to his friends.
- Friends of Boris Moiseev dispelled rumors about his plight
“Borya is weak, walks with difficulty”
Music critic Sergei Sosedov, like everyone else, is extremely concerned about the health of Boris Moiseev.
“The last time I saw Boris was in March last year at the concert of the singer Dimash in the Kremlin,” says 51-year-old Sosedov. - He was not alone. Either his director or someone else was with him, but I remember that this man supported Boris by the hand, since he was walking with difficulty. It was clear that Borya was weak, but he tried to hold on. I can’t say that he was completely “bad” that evening... however, it was still noticeable that the man had suffered a stroke.
According to Sergei, Boris could have had a stroke due to his extremely busy work schedule for 20 years.
“He was an active touring artist, he always traveled a lot,” continues Sosedov. “Bori had a unique ability to work; he always wanted to be in the public eye. From the early 90s until 2010, he had a very active work. Maybe he stopped taking care of his health - and then trouble happened to him. But no one knows this for sure, because the disease can break anyone in any condition and at any time. No one thought that Borya would fall ill like this.
– Many people believe that Alla Pugacheva really helped Boris Mikhailovich succeed on the stage. In your opinion, is this true?
Alla Pugacheva and Boris Moiseev
– I think it’s a big question of who helped whom. Most likely, even Borya helped her more than she helped him. He also took part in Pugacheva’s 1984 concert program entitled “I came and I say.” Thanks to Moiseev, Alla began to try to dance, which she had never done before. It was a blast! They gave 16 concerts at the Olimpiysky, which were impossible to attend because the tickets for them were not clear how they were distributed. I remember those times, I was 16 years old then. And it was largely thanks to Boris that this program was such a success, because before that Pugacheva performed one-on-one with the audience. And then ballet appeared, some circus acts. For the first time, a show of colossal scale was staged on the stage! I think even without Pugacheva, Moiseev would not have remained in the shadows. He later performed with Zykina and Ponarovskaya. And Zykina is not Pugacheva, sorry! This artist will be bigger in scale! She performed with great success in all countries of the world.
One way or another, someone would definitely have discovered Borya as an artist. It’s just that some kind of myth was created, a cult of Pugacheva, which she herself believed in. This scheme for her promotion was once invented by Alexander Stefanovich (the singer’s second husband - Note Sobesednik.ru), whom she now denigrates in every possible way.
- “Why doesn’t Alla say that the public lives poorly?”: Sosedov believed in Pugacheva’s oil
"His career is over"
– Did the fact that Boris Moiseev never hid his non-traditional sexual orientation play a plus or minus for his career?
“He never openly declared that he was gay,” Sosedov notes. – In many ways it was a kind of game. Moiseev's homosexuality was perceived as part of the image. It surfaced in hints, half-meanings. Although this was in fact the case, no one fully believed that he was really like that. First of all, he was loved for his songs, and not for his orientation. He had very interesting programs.
Today Sergei Sosedov does not believe that Boris Moiseev will ever be able to return to the stage.
- Most likely, his career is over. He did his job, and now his time has passed. An artist, like an athlete, cannot always be in shape and in favor. Everyone leaves one way or another. But at the same time, I can say that there are no artists like Borya on the stage now. It was very bright!
Razin published a video in response to rumors about Moiseev’s death
– Previously, Borya could perform, work, go out. But now he does not have the physical ability to do what he did before,” explains Tender May producer Andrei Razin. – The last time we were together on the set of Malakhov was about a year ago, he could still communicate quite well then. At the moment it can't.
Unfortunately, the consequences of a stroke make themselves felt. Physically, Bor may be better, but from a moral point of view his condition is deteriorating. I personally asked then on the set of my friend Sergei Gorokh to stop taking Borya to such talk shows. He is not able to tell today what he would like to say. He should be remembered by people, which he, in full consciousness, in the prime of his life, could convey to people, he was always sold out... At work he burned out.
– Do you call him yourself and ask how he is? Many artists admit that they have not communicated with Moiseev for several years. It seems that everyone has forgotten about Boris, which is why such fables like rumors about his death appear.
– Firstly, I can provide video evidence that Borya is alive. Not long ago we sat with him in a cafe and recorded a short but optimistic video.
And secondly, the fact is that Borya does not always understand who is calling him . In our last conversation, I told him how we started, what we had, and he began to remember as the conversation progressed... He doesn’t remember people, he doesn’t remember events . Those artists who would like to laugh and communicate with Borya again perceive him as before, but he even had a hard time remembering me and our story. That’s why I told its director Sergei to stop these public appearances.
Why show weakness and helplessness, as Porgina did , even though I love her very much? She hoped that Kolya Karachentsov would not give up, she wanted to adapt him to life as quickly as possible. I understand that Boris’s friends would be happy to talk to him, but it’s useless.
– What can you say about Sergei Gorokh, director of Moiseev? It turns out that he is the only one who is truly close to Boris now?
Boris Moiseev and Sergei Gorokh
– Sergey is a decent person. Despite the fact that Moiseev is not in poverty, Sergei himself buys him food and pays for doctors. He understands how much Borya did for him. He once told me that even if Bori had nothing, he would still support him at his own expense as a sign of gratitude.
I even scolded Pea a couple of times: “Why are you feeding him like that? He will be fat, like Razin.” Sergei replied: “Bori has a good appetite, if I put him on a diet, they will also say that he’s starving the sea.”
Boris Moiseev receives a pension of about 50 thousand rubles
But it turned out that it is not only his director who helps the sick artist. Sergey Lavrov, founder, promoter, who was the organizer of Boris Moiseev’s concerts for many years, told Sobesednik.ru about his other patrons. Or rather, patronesses...
“We have known Boris since 1999, when I decided to hold his concerts,” recalls Sergei Lavrov. “Back then there was no Internet, no mobile phones, all the artists’ phones were passed along a chain. Thus, I got Bori’s number from director Roman Viktyuk. I got through on the phone and offered to tour in the city of Norilsk. Borya promised only two concerts. Cashiers in Norilsk told me that I was crazy, because this is a city of metallurgists, they are homophobic, and most likely they will tear me to pieces. Moiseev asked for an advance payment: the fee was four and a half thousand dollars, he also gave me a discount, and at that time, so you understand, it was a third of the apartment in Moscow. And then it turned out that all the tickets were sold out, Norilsk needed an additional concert. We decided on a third concert - we sold everything again. And our eyes already lit up, like Scrooge McDuck from the famous cartoon, we wanted to earn more! We decided to make one concert during the day. Full house again! In the end, we played 10 concerts, one of them was at 12 o'clock at night! I didn’t understand then how he could work like a machine without stopping.
Since then, Lavrov and Moiseev have been friends, and they still remain friends. According to Sergei, Boris has an “underground” secret phone. It’s the only way Moiseev communicates; only his closest people are in contact.
“ Bori, of course, has a speech delay, but he is not senile, he still jokes and communicates ,” says Sergei Lavrov. – Another thing is that he cannot answer right away, because of this he begins to get nervous and angry with himself. And so all is well. He is an Honored Artist of Russia, a pensioner, and receives about 50 thousand rubles. Fans also help him. One wealthy woman sends very good money, another gives slightly smaller amounts, but this is also attention and help. Nelly Kobzon also helps, and a couple of times help came from Alla Borisovna Pugacheva.
Personally, I can always dial Boris,” Lavrov admits, “he has such an underground phone, he answers only those numbers that he knows. Moiseev's circle of friends is narrow, but reliable. We don't leave him in trouble.
- Alexander Levshin: Gurchenko was a special woman (interview with composer and performer Alexander Levshin, in which he also talked about the relationship between Lyudmila Gurchenko and Boris Moiseev)
Film work
Moiseev's film debut took place at the age of twenty. Boris starred in a cameo role as a soloist of a dance group in the film “Yas and Yanina”. It is worth noting that the entire Pesnyary ensemble starred in this film, and Vladimir Mulyavin played one of the main roles.
After his debut work, Boris did not act in films for more than eleven years. But in 1985, two films with Moiseev’s participation were released: “Season of Miracles” and “I Came and I Say.” The songs heard in both films are performed by Alla Pugacheva.
Then a long break followed again. A new film with the participation of Moiseev, called “The Fool’s Revenge,” was published in 1993. The plot of this film was based on Victor Hugo’s novel “The King Amuses himself” and Giuseppe Verdi’s opera “Rigoletto”. In this film, Boris played the main role.
For the next ten years, the artist did not take part in filming. And only in 2003 he starred as the gardener Antonio in the musical film “Crazy Day, or The Marriage of Figaro.” In 2003, in the film “Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves,” based on the script by Veniamin Smekhov, Moiseev played the role of a gypsy fortune teller.
Then filming took place in the series “Happy Together”, the films “Night Watch” and “Kill Bella”, where Moiseev played himself. In 2007, Boris played the role of the king in the film “A Very New Year’s Movie, or Night at the Museum.” It is worth noting that the artist’s partner in this project, who played the main role, was the future President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky. In the same year, Moiseev played the role of a police major in the film “The Best Day.”
In a film called “Golden Fish” filmed for the New Year by the Rossiya channel, Moiseev presented to the audience a new interpretation of Lyudmila Senchina’s song “Cinderella”.
In the series “School No. 1”, filmed in 2007, the singer played the role of a fake parent of one of the main characters.
In 2020, Moiseev took part in the filming of the film “Alien”.
Favorite women of Boris Moiseev
In “A Million Dollar Secret,” the artist said that Eugenia Pleshkite was his first lover. He called his feeling for the Lithuanian actress the greatest love in his life. But other women were also present in his fate.
Adele Todd, American bride of Moiseev
In 2010, Boris announced that he intended to marry American Adele Todd. He has a long-standing romantic relationship with a businesswoman, and he decided to legalize their civil marriage. It was assumed that this would be a family in two countries - Adele would not leave her business unattended, and Boris planned to continue his concert activities.
Boris and Adele. New York, January 2020
But the celebration did not take place due to Moiseev’s illness - in December 2010 he suffered a stroke, the consequences of which are still felt. Fans of the singer can only guess whether he really intended to get married, or whether it was just another PR stunt.
