The beginning of the career of Mikhail Bashkatov
The future actor began playing in KVN during his student years.
During this period, Mikhail Bashkatov appeared on stage as part of the Tomsk team “City Lights. With this group, the artist performed in several minor leagues, where he was noticed by another student of Tomsk State University, Konstantin Malasaev, who invited Mikhail to become an artist at the theater of humorous miniatures “Boniface”. In this place, the actor gained the necessary experience of performing on stage, and also found many new friends, among whom was Andrei Burkovsky, his future partner in many comedy television projects. Some time later, the KVN team “Big City Lights,” in which the artist was performing at that moment, officially ceased to exist, and Mikhail Bashkatov began to make plans related to a new humorous project. Konstantin Malasaev came to the rescue again, who invited our today’s hero to work together on creating numbers and the stage image of the KVN team “MaximuM”. Misha agreed, and very soon the new team began to take on its own characteristics. Some time later, other talented students of Tomsk State University joined the newly formed team, including the above-mentioned Andrei Burkovsky. By coincidence, it was with him that Mikhail Bashkatov most often appeared on stage. The guys became friends, and very soon became the main “strike force” of the new team.
Some time later, the Maximum team achieved its first successes. The team became the winner of the Tomsk KVN league, as well as the vice-champion of the First League of the Merry and Resourceful Club. But all this was only the beginning of a long journey.

The success of Mikhail Bashkatov on the KVN stage and triumph in the Major League
The “Maximum” team had a chance to appear on television for the first time during the Jurmala festival “Voting KiViN”-2003.
At this international forum, the team was among the young teams, but, despite the small amount of airtime, it managed to be remembered by the jury members and received a ticket to the KVN Premier League. In 2004, Mikhail Bashkatov, together with other members of the Tomsk team, made his debut in the second oldest division of KVN and immediately became its champion. In 2005, the Siberian team appeared on the stage of the Major League, however, having lost in the first game, it returned to the Premier League. It is quite remarkable that in the 2005 season the Maximum club managed to win this championship for the second time in a row. Thus, already in 2006 the team gets a second chance to prove itself in the Major League. The new attempt turned out to be more successful than the previous one. That season, the team was one step away from the finals, and also managed to win the “Small KiViN in the Dark” at the Jurmala KVN festival.
Further achievements in Mikhail Bashkatov’s career continued to grow. In 2007, together with the Maximum team, he won bronze medals in the Major League, and in 2008 he managed to become its champion. In the same year, the Tomsk team also won the main awards of the Jurmala festival “Voting KiViN”.

It is difficult to determine the role of this talented person. Some viewers remember Mikhail Bashkatov as one of the brightest KVN players, others remember him for playing roles in comedy series, and still others know him as a popular TV presenter.
Misha was born far from large centers of theater and film art - in the city of Tomsk. His dad worked in a bank, where time and money are interconnected, so he devoted little time to raising his son.
The mother of the future TV star worked in the office of the Tomsk vehicle fleet, but in her free time she loved to read poetry and stories to her son.
Having learned to read, the boy himself began to linger over works of art. Even in the summer, he could more often be seen in the library reading room than with his peers in the yard or on the sports field.
But even such a typical “nerd” was an inveterate hooligan and twice ended up in the police station for his misdeeds. In his dreams, Misha saw himself as a builder, a doctor, and even a journalist, but his teachers showed him one path - to become an artist.
Young Bashkatov did not listen to such advice and, at the insistence of his parents, applied to the economics department of the university in his hometown. He did not turn out to be either a financier or an accountant - Misha was fascinated by acting and the stage.
For several years he actively participated in KVN games , with the MaximuM team he became the champion of his hometown and a prize-winner of several regional leagues. But real popularity came to Bashkatov after his team reached the KVN Premier League and took first place there in the 2004 season.
The Tomsk team did not stay long in the Major League, but they repeated their success in the Premier League a year after their first triumph. Having gained experience, the Maximum participants magically burst into Alexander Maslyakov’s league, taking third place in the 2007 season.
Career of Mikhail Bashkatov outside KVN
In 2009, Mikhail Bashkatov appeared on stage at the Cheerful and Resourceful Club for the last time.
In the same year, the artist accepted the offer of the STS channel and became the host of the humorous program “Video Battle”. To be fair, it is worth noting that this project did not gain wide popularity, as did another project with the participation of Mikhail Bashkatov - the show “Random Connections”. Much more successful was the debut on television of the comedy sketch show “Give Youth”, which again brought together long-time friends and partners from the “Maximum” team Mikhail Bashkatov and Andrei Burkovsky within one project. This program was a real breakthrough in the careers of both artists. Both guys still work in this humorous project to this day.
Mikhail Bashkatov now
In addition to working on the STS channel, the famous comedian also often appears in various programs and television series.
Thus, Mikhail’s track record includes such popular TV shows as “One for All”, “Thank God, You Came!”, “Comedy Woman”, “Tower”, as well as the TV series “Toys”, “Once Upon a Time in the Police”, “Daddy’s daughters”, etc. Currently, Mikhail Bashkatov is still working on new images in the “Give Youth” project and is making plans for new career achievements.

Personal life of Mikhail Bashkatov
Despite the fact that the actor devotes a lot of time to his career and new television projects, everything is also good and rosy in his personal life. While still in his fourth year at university, Mikhail met his future wife Ekaterina Bagel. The acquaintance took place in one of the nightclubs in Tomsk. Misha invited Katya to slow dance, and the girl agreed. Soon, a romance began between the two people, which a few years later smoothly flowed into marriage. The couple currently lives in Moscow and is raising their little son Timofey, who was born in 2010.
An exemplary family man and screen star
Frequent trips to the capital and other cities did not prevent Mikhail Bashkatov from graduating from an educational institution and starting a family. As a fourth-year student, the guy went to one of the nightclubs in Tomsk, where he met a charming stranger.
Having invited the girl to a slow dance, Bashkatov learned that her name was Katya. The young people had many interesting topics for conversation, friendship grew into a more serious relationship, and four years after their first meeting, Mikhail and Ekaterina became legal spouses.
Currently, the friendly Bashkatov family (the couple had three sons - Fedor, Timofey and Stepan) lives in the family. Mikhail earns his living, and Ekaterina raises the children and provides her husband with a reliable rear.
You can learn about the family’s everyday life and holidays from the page on the social network Instagram, where Mikhail posts interesting photos. The Bashkatovs do not agree to proposals to film their sons in advertising, considering such an activity to be child abuse.
The TV in their apartment is more of a decorative element - there is sorely not enough time to watch everything. But if he has a few hours free, Mikhail would rather devote them to reading books. Although an interesting series can also captivate him.
Since 2009, a new round in Mikhail Bashkatov’s television career began - he was invited to the STS channel, offering the role of presenter in the “Video Battle” program. In this role he did not find much fame.
The actor and TV presenter gained wide popularity after the release of the entertaining comedy show “ Give You Youth ,” in which there was a place for many of his KVN friends.
Having established himself as a true master of transformation, Mikhail Bashkatov graced the TV series “Daddy’s Daughters,” “Once Upon a Time in the Police,” “Toys,” “Kitchen,” and starred in the films “Corporate Party” and “Happy March 8, Men.”
Despite the fact that Bashkatov is often invited to be a toastmaster at one or another celebration, Mikhail refuses such offers, concentrating on filming and acting lessons.
In 2020, the actor appeared in the series “Favorites” on the Friday channel. In the spring of 2020, viewers will be able to see him in the science-fiction film “Star Mind” (working title: “Gemini”). Having fallen in love with the audience as an actor-comedian, Mikhail Bashkatov dreams of playing a serious dramatic role, but none of the modern directors have yet seen him in such a role.
