Mikhail Gavrilov: biography and personal life of the actor

Childhood

On July 7, 1985, a handsome boy was born into a family of hereditary military men, who was given the name Mikhail at birth. The family spent the first years of their son’s life in Tolyatti, and in 1990 they moved to the Perm region to the small Trans-Ural town of Chusovoy. True, for some time little Mikhail Gavrilov lived with his grandmother in Naberezhnye Chelny, where he was enrolled in a theater studio.

As a little boy, he didn't think he would ever become an actor. He had no time to think about it: he studied at a music school (accordion class), played football, practiced freestyle wrestling and boxing. Misha was interested in cinema solely as a viewer.

Either medicine or art...

His first profession has nothing to do with creativity. After completing 9 classes, Mikhail Gavrilov (later an actor) becomes a student at a medical college, and later at the Perm Polytechnic University. But, after studying there for a while, he dropped everything and went to serve in the army, where he stayed for three years. Moreover, he spent the usual time of military service required by law with such enthusiasm that he signed a contract and served in the professional army for the second year and a half.

After three years of service, Mikhail came up with the idea of studying at a military university. But the desire to change everything in my life outweighed. Therefore, Mikhail Gavrilov leaves for Moscow to try his hand at entering a theater institute. But he always remembered the army with warmth. For him it was a serious school of life. And for him, as a son of the military, the discipline that the army and sports can instill was especially important.

Hidden treasure trove of talent

So, after demobilization, Mikhail Gavrilov, whose photos literally filled the pages of printed publications after the release of his first films, having an engineering diploma in hand, completely unexpectedly for his friends, left for the capital in order to enter the Boris Shchukin Theater Institute. Within the walls of this educational institution, he learned the basics of acting from Valentina Nikolaenko (the audience knows her thanks to the role she played in the comedy about Malinov’s wedding). She, being a very talented teacher, was able to discover a storehouse of talent in the young man, thanks to which Gavrilov became a famous actor in a very short time.

Biography[ | ]

He entered the Novorossiysk University in Odessa, where he studied at the Faculty of History and Philology, and later transferred to the Faculty of Law in St. Petersburg.

He emigrated to Romania, then moved to France, and graduated from the Sorbonne in Paris.

He taught at the Russian gymnasium in Paris and at the boarding school of St. George in Meudon, and conducted scientific and educational activities at the Catholic University in Paris.

Gavrilov quite consciously came to the conviction that the truth and completeness of perfect Orthodoxy resides in Catholicism. While within the bosom of the Catholic Church, he remained a firm defender of the values of Eastern Church tradition, defining Russian Catholicism as follows:

“The meaning of Russian Catholicism and Russian Catholics is only to show in practice the possibility of Orthodoxy in Catholicism.”

In 1950, Gavrilov was one of the initiators of organizing a pilgrimage of Russian Catholics to Rome, which resulted in the apostolic letter of Pope Pius XII to the peoples of Russia “Sacro vergente anno” and the dedication of Russia to the Heart of the Mother of God in 1952.

Cardinal Eugene Tisserand has repeatedly noted the great benefit of Gavrilov’s works to the cause of Christian unity. Gavrilov was a participant in the Congresses of Russian Catholics in Russia Abroad.

First steps on stage

His film debut took place back in 2009, when the aspiring actor appeared in a small episode in the series “Take Me With You 2.” A little later - a small role in “Code of Honor”. This was his first experience working in front of a movie camera. Mikhail tried to fulfill all the director’s requirements, because he understood that he still didn’t know much. But the directors assessed his work with some bias. They liked such a textured artist, and they were not at all worried that he was just starting his journey in the film industry.

And in 2010, Mikhail Gavrilov, whose filmography began to be replenished with interesting roles, received an invitation to work in the thriller “There’s Someone Here” and its sequel. These shootings provided significant assistance in the development of the actor’s career.

"I'm an actor!"

The most important (according to Gavrilov) and interesting offers began to arrive to the young actor after he received a university diploma (after 2012; this year was very important for him). Now he played in melodramas and television films, everyday stories and detective stories...

In 2012, Gavrilov was invited to one of the main roles - Grisha in the TV series “Crime by Inheritance”. In eight episodes, not only a detective story was shown. There was love, betrayal, and an attempt to restore justice after many years.

Anya comes to the village at the request of her academician grandfather, so that she can prove that her grandfather is innocent in the death of his two friends, which happened many years ago. Already on the spot, having stayed in the old house, Anya meets two local guys: one of them is the son of one of her grandfather’s murdered friends, and the second is the grandson of her grandfather’s colleague and also the grandson of her academic grandfather. It was this grandson, Gregory, who was played by Mikhail Gavrilov.

A little later, the series “Molodezhka” happened in his biography, after which even those who watched it briefly began to recognize the actor. Now he played the center forward of the Bears team - Evgeniy Tsarev. There was no real prototype for this character, so Mikhail gave him many of his own traits. Evgeniy is one of the best athletes on the team, actively striving for his goal. All this is quite close to the actor, because he also loves sports.

He joined the filming process when the other guys were already skating quite well (they already had two seasons of work behind them). This was the first time Gavrilov had experienced such a pace of work: he got up on skates at nine in the morning and left the ice arena at nine in the evening. But this only gave him confidence in his own abilities and brought tangible results.
