Ekaterina was born in Pyatigorsk, into a friendly international family.
Her father, Guram Ruslanovich Utmelidze, is Georgian by nationality, works in a construction organization. Mom, Larisa Arkadyevna Arushanova, is a native Armenian, a fashion designer by profession, and teaches at a technical school. Gray-eyed blonde Katya and her younger sister Victoria owe their Slavic appearance to their Russian grandmother Valentina on their father’s side, whom both, according to their relatives, are very similar to.
Ekaterina Utmelidze in childhood
Our heroine spent her childhood and youth in Pyatigorsk. She was in Georgia only a few times, and came to Armenia for the first time when she was already married. Despite this, she is well acquainted with the traditions of these ancient peoples and their culture and considers herself a real Caucasian woman.
From an early age, Katya had a creative streak - like her mother, she loved to design and sew clothes, took up ballroom dancing, rhythmic gymnastics, and even tried her hand at ballet. At school she was an excellent student and willingly took part in amateur performances, although she did not like to stand out among her classmates.
Ekaterina Utmelidze in her youth
After graduating from high school with a silver medal, the girl unexpectedly applied to a sewing technical school. The selection committee was very surprised to see the medalist in front of them. But Katya had no doubts about the choice of her future profession, but just in case, she also enrolled in the correspondence course at a local university to obtain a specialty as a personnel management manager. In her dreams, she saw herself as the director of a large atelier or clothing company, so she began her studies with great zeal.

Creative path
Ekaterina got into the KVN student team thanks to Irina Leonidovna Carmen, who was involved in the selection of talented youth for various creative studios. Seeing Katya, she immediately invited her to try her hand at KVN, although the girl initially planned to take up dancing.
During her studies, Ekaterina Utmelidze joined the KVN team
Already at the first rehearsals, Ekaterina realized that she had found herself in her own family, and it was already difficult to imagine how she had lived without these cheerful, witty guys. Starting with the faculty team, she very soon moved to the Khlabys university team, with which she played in the city and regional leagues.
In 2009, the captain of the City of Pyatigorsk team, Olga Kartunkova, decided to unite the best players of the Krasnodar and Stavropol Territories into one team. A year later, the renewed team became the winner of the First League and took third place in the Higher League. In 2012, the Pyatigorsk residents became vice-champions, and a year later they won the main prize of the club of cheerful and resourceful people.
Ekaterina Utmelidze in the KVN “Pyatigorsk” team In 2014, the producers of the TNT channel decided to create a new show “Once Upon a Time in Russia” - a kind of teleplay, which had no analogues on domestic television. The main characters were identified, and former KVN players were offered to play them.
Olga Kartunkova and Ekaterina Utmelidze were invited from Pyatigorsk, who, as planned by the authors, were supposed to transform into a loud “rude woman” and a hysterical, exalted lady. The girls became so accustomed to their characters that the audience began to perceive them as such in real life. Meanwhile, Katya never raises her voice at home and rarely gets into an argument with her husband.

In 2020, Ekaterina and her husband Leonid Morgunov were offered to become hosts of a new travel show “Russo Tourist” on the STS channel. This did not upset the couple one bit, who became happy parents at the end of the summer.
Wedding and baby
After a romantic relationship that lasted about a year, Leonid decided to propose to his beloved. Moreover, he was going to do this in a very original way. For this, he chose the KVN stage at the music festival in Jurmala. Almost everyone knew about the preparation for recognition except Catherine herself.
She was pleasantly surprised and agreed to Leonid’s proposal. Then preparations for the wedding began. Due to my busy schedule, preparation lasted about a year. The first thing was to earn money for the celebration.
The lovers wanted to have a magnificent wedding with many guests present. And so it happened. Most of the invitees were cheerful and resourceful team players. They were the ones who entertained the guests.
Then the couple began to think about having a child. But first they wanted to provide the future child with good material conditions. When performances and work faded into the background, the couple decided to expand their family.
In 2020, the couple had a child - a boy, who was named Artemy. The couple made a joint decision that the child should be born in Pyatigorsk. This is where Catherine was from. The couple decided to live there for some time, since the air in Pyatigorsk is cleaner and the products are more natural.
Now Ekaterina and Leonid are enjoying family relationships and raising a child . They took a short break from creativity and only occasionally go to performances or festivals. This is the family idyll of the Morgunovs.

Ekaterina Morgunova was born in the city of Pyatigorsk, and then her last name was Utmelidze. The comedian's father worked as a surveyor, her mother was a fashion designer, and her sister Vika grew up alongside Katya. The girls imbibed efficiency and determination from their parents, thanks to which they achieved a lot in life.
Even as a child, Katya strived to learn something interesting; she was a curious child, and sitting still with nothing to do was not for her at all. Katya went to several clubs, tried herself in various forms - she did ballet, sports and rhythmic gymnastics, then there was ballroom dancing.
All her hobbies in no way interfered with her studies at school; she graduated with honors, after which she entered the sewing college, graduating with honors.
Next, Katerina entered Perm State Technical University , where she was going to get a higher education.
However, halfway through her studies, the girl attracted the attention of KVN, she became a member of the university team, performed brilliantly, taking on completely different images.
The student was so captivated by humor that it was more difficult for her to complete the last 2 courses. And although she received a diploma and could continue her studies in graduate school, Katya refused, deciding to perform in KVN.
Morgunova never intended to be a real artist, it was just the circumstances - with each new performance she became more and more interested in jokes, she was good at the roles, and the team members were not going to let her go.
After going through several stages of KVN in the Krasnodar Territory, Katya’s team was transformed and merged with two more teams from the Stavropol Territory. The new team was given the name “Pyatigorsk” , after which the guys were invited to the capital’s KVN. That year, Katya and her like-minded people made a meteoric rise, taking 3rd place in the KVN Major League. Many teams take years to achieve this achievement. At the same time, Katya was awarded an honorary KiViN several times in a row.
Since 2014, Morgunova has become an actress in the TNT channel show “Once Upon a Time in Russia” - in parallel with KVN, she actively participates in theatrical performances within the program, performing psychotics and unbalanced persons.
In general, almost all of Katya’s roles belong to a similar type, but this does not mean at all that she is like that in life.
It’s just that the comedian herself believes that anyone can play a completely ordinary person, but it’s not always possible to show emotions that are unfamiliar to you, so that they believe it.
In 2014, KVN player Leonid Morgunov proposed to Katya right on stage during the final of the next League. Those who like to entertain the public don’t have children yet.
In 2015, Katya received an offer to host the TV show “Russo Tourist” on the STS channel. And her husband became her co-host.
Katerina Morgunova is a shining example of an excellent student in everything - thanks to the perseverance and hard work that her parents carefully instilled in her, she was able to achieve a lot in her 30s. We will wait for new ups and unique images of Katya!
