Marina Vovchenko in childhood

Not much is known about Marina’s childhood and family. She prefers to give short interviews in which she talks more about her activities, healthy lifestyle, sports and yoga, rather than about her childhood or personal life. It is known that Marina has a twin sister, a brother and another sister.

At the age of six, Marina began playing sports. First with gymnastics, then with fitness and yoga. In the future, this passion for sports became more than a hobby for her - she graduated and became a certified trainer.

Why is the blogger bald? In addition to the fact that Marina encourages women to start taking care of themselves, she tries to support people with cancer. Since most people lose their hair during cancer treatment, this affects their psychological state. Marina is trying to convey to women experiencing hair loss that this is not a death sentence and that they need to focus on this issue. So she shaved her head after the birth of her first child, then her second. Then it became a habit - to somehow support women with cancer and show that hair loss is not the most critical situation in life.

Marina Lysyak

My name is Marina Lysyak, and I teach yoga at the OUM.RU Club. Together with other teachers, I conduct “Immersion in Silence” yoga retreats and seminars, and organize tours to places of power in India and Russia.

How I understand yoga

In archeology there is a term “cultural layer” - this is a layer of earth that stores the memory of past lives - buildings, artifacts, burials, etc. It seems to me that in each of us there is also a “cultural layer” of different incarnations, where carefully and even reverently habits are stored (for example, to be angry, to be offended), everyday character traits and duty roles of a parent, child, boss or lover are recorded in it.

But under the cultural layer, as teachers say, the essence, the truth of a person is hidden. Yoga for me is a reliable way to get through the layers of beliefs, feelings and emotions to the real me, to my wise, kind and compassionate self.

Yoga for me is a coming home. Sometimes this path is like taking a bitter pill to recover, and sometimes I feel joy and deep satisfaction from the efforts made, there is a feeling that “everything is going as it should.”

What can I share?

Hatha yoga

. The body is a true tool in yoga. It is honest and will immediately indicate where a person is having difficulties. Hatha yoga purifies and harmonizes the mind and consciousness through the body. At the moment I am more inclined to soft meditative practices with immersion in sensations, but also use dynamics and seek harmony through tension, relaxation and balance.

I believe that ambitions in yoga are inappropriate and the complexity of asanas should come from the readiness of the consciousness to take on a more complex form, rather than from a person’s desire to enter an extreme position as quickly as possible. In this case, the path is more important than the final goal.

Shatkarmas, cleansing practices in yoga

. Sutra-neti, shanka-prakshalana, kunjala and other techniques for cleansing the body, and therefore the mind. This is not difficult and in the first stages it is necessary to adapt to a new diet, for example, or to cope with an addiction that does not allow you to continue.

Concentrating on an enlightened image

. Attention is the most valuable resource. Attention management is the core of a person and his resource. Concentration teaches concentration and careful conscious expenditure of energy. It also cultivates new qualities through the exchange of energy with the image.

Teaching yoga as a path of self-development and service

. Only by sharing with others what we know and can do, we grow. “For the wellness of body, mind and soul, there is no better theory than Yoga and that its teaching and propagation is the highest form of service to humanity” Sri Yogendra. The day when I “remembered” that I needed to teach yoga was a turning point in my life. And I really thank Andrey Verb for the motivation.

Trips

. And I also love to travel. In contact with other cultures, I see my limitations and learn to look at the world more broadly.

I invite you to learn and develop together. Patiently cultivate kindness, compassion and wisdom in yourself, emulating the enlightened ones of all eras. Let your whole life be yoga.

Topics for classes at Yoga Camp “Aura” for June 19

Hatha yoga practice: gentleness and strength.

Morning concentration on breathing, evening mantra Om.

Lecture topic: Reading as a spiritual practice

“For me, a book is a journey. But not to the other side of the planet, but inside yourself. Even if we read the same books, we still travel through different worlds: if the book says “flower,” then I will imagine a rose on the balcony, and someone else will imagine a sunflower in grandma’s garden. The imaginary image depends on what is already in my mind. The book only highlights the desired area.

Reading is the key to inner treasures. And by choosing the right book and immersing yourself in it, a person can nurture his inner world, cultivate the seeds of such qualities as kindness, compassion, patience, love. May learn courage, resilience, or contentment. Or he can remember his past experience, as if hooking it with bookish images. The lives of saints and great spirits are examples to follow, the likes of which are difficult to find in the modern world.

Let's talk about reading as a spiritual practice. How to work with text in order to be less distracted and remember better - take notes, rewrite, argue with the author and find other points of view, read repeatedly, record an audiobook and listen again, read aloud, etc. What kind of literature to read - fiction, fairy tales, scriptures, biographies. Let's talk about the unique opportunity through time, through reading, to reach out to the Buddha or Milarepa in order to learn from them directly. If you love to read and want to read with meaning, join the Aura yoga camp in the Yaroslavl region. June 19. I’ll be glad to meet you.”
