New film roles

Unfortunately, Maksimov never managed to break out of the episodes even after filming Gangster Petersburg. Although the number of worthwhile projects in the performer’s filmography has increased significantly.

For example, in 2005, Leonid Ivanovich played an assistant investigator in the film adaptation of the novel “The Master and Margarita” by Vladimir Bortko. The serial film received high praise from both viewers and critics. The cast of the project turned out to be exceptionally “star-studded”: Alexander Abdulov, Oleg Basilashvili, Sergei Bezrukov, etc.

In 2013, Maksimov played Sergeant Wilkinson in the series “Sherlock Holmes” with Igor Petrenko and Andrei Panin. In 2020, the actor will appear in Vadim Shatrov’s drama “School Shooter.”

Childhood of Maxim Leonidov

The future famous singer and actor Maxim Leonidov was born on February 13, 1962 in Leningrad. Since the baby’s parents were creative personalities and worked in the theater, he spent his entire childhood behind the scenes. Having matured a little, he began to travel around the country, observing the transformations of his parents. After such a childhood, it is very difficult to choose another profession that is not related to art or the stage.

Despite the father’s desire to send his son to a theater institution of higher education, the school enrolled him in a mathematics class. For three years the boy suffered and suffered, when suddenly his mother decided to transfer him to the Glinka Choir School. “In addition to standard lessons, they taught us to love music,” shared Maxim.

At the age of 17, the young man graduated from college and entered the theater university. After 5 years, an ordinary boy turned into a talented and ambitious aspiring actor.

While still a student, Max often took part in productions, and once, for the sake of a play, he created a real musical group. As soon as the performance came to an end, the guy began to think seriously about a real team. Debut

The debut of the future professional actress took place at the age of five; at this age the little girl played the main role of Alice in the play “Alice in Wonderland.” I must say that it went off with a bang, just like Kamchatova’s other performances. After that, her career developed rapidly, no matter what roles Alexandra played in the spotlight. It is worth giving her credit: the girl never succumbed to the temptation to give up such a difficult profession and do something simpler; Kamchatova knew exactly what she wanted and confidently went towards it.

It is necessary to mention that her passion for acting did not prevent the girl from receiving a decent education - Kamchatova studied at the prestigious Oxford College in England.

Maxim Leonidov and the group "Secret"

In 1983, Maxim became a co-founder of the beat quartet “Secret”. Nikolai Fomenko, Andrey Zabludovsky and Alexey Murashov performed with him in the group. The group became popular two years after its creation. In 1987, the group’s first album, “Beat Quartet Secret,” was released, and two years later the next album, “Leningrad Time.”

Despite the fact that at first an idyll reigned in the group, over time Leonidov began to move away from the group, as he performed on stage, acted in films, appeared in television programs, and his once best friends stood still. In 1989, the man finally decided to leave the Secret group and go on a free swim. The group began performing as a trio.

Maxim thought that he had already become famous, so his solo career would rapidly take off. As it turned out, he had too few loyal fans willing to attend concerts and pay for albums. In order to somehow keep himself afloat, in 1990 he decided to move to Israel.

In the period from 1990 to 1996, the singer returned to his homeland only twice, but due to half-empty concert halls, he happily left his native land. In mid-1996, almost all radio stations overnight began playing new tracks by Leonidov, which no one had heard before. As it turned out, a year earlier the man recorded his first solo album, “Commander.” The famous musician Alexander Kutikov, whom he met while still a member of the “Secret” group, helped him in this.

The second album, “Vision Girl,” was released in 1997. Literally six months later, Leonidov performed a concert program at the St. Petersburg Music Hall. Thanks to just one concert, the singer became popular again, so he could be seen in almost all famous television programs and shows. In 1999, fans appreciated the next album, called “Don’t Let Him Go,” and at the end of 2001, “Thursday.” In 2009, the album “Wild Thing” was released.

During anniversaries and significant events, Maxim “returns” to the “Secret” group. So in 2003, as part of the band’s 20th anniversary, he wrote a new song “Nothing Disappears” and performed together with his colleagues in Moscow and St. Petersburg. After 4 years, the group with the old lineup again gave a concert in the Northern capital.

Musical Theatre

In recent years, Maxim Leonidov can often be seen on the theater stage. Recently, the musical “Million Dollar Girl” premiered at the Musical Comedy Theater, where he performed not only as a performer of one of the roles, but also as an author, art producer and composer.

In general, Leonidov has already composed five original musicals, which have seen the light of day at various venues in St. Petersburg and Moscow. Plus one mono-musical “I looked back to look”, in which the artist tells the truth without embellishment about himself, the group “Secret”, the origins of creativity, years of apprenticeship, family, military service, friends and fame.

Maxim hopes that his collaboration with the Musical Comedy will not be limited to one premiere, and dreams of showing his musicals not only in capitals, but also in provincial cities. There are already ideas for new plots, and, as Leonidov admits, he writes music in his head continuously, 24 hours a day.
