(English: Priyanka Chopra Jonas; born July 18, 1982, Jamshedpur, Bihar, India) is an Indian actress, model and singer. Winner of the Miss World 2000 competition. Biography

Priyanka Chopra was born on July 18, 1982 in Jamshedpur, India. Her parents Ashok (died June 9, 2013 from cancer)[2] and Madhu Chopra are military doctors, so the family often moved from one place to another: from Ladakh to Kerala, then to Mumbai and Jamshedpur. She has a brother, Sidharth, who is eight years younger than her.[3] As a child, she suffered from asthma. Her cousin Parineeti Chopra also became an actress.

When she was one year old, her mother sent her to live with her parents. At the age of six, Priyanka returned home, but a year later she was sent to a girls' boarding school in Lucknow. Then the future actress studied in Bareli at Maria Goretti College. At thirteen, her mother took her to the United States, and she completed her senior year in Boston[3].

Her aspiration was to become a software engineer or psychologist[4]. She was interested in dancing and music, and wrote stories. Then she developed a desire to become an actress.
