— I understand that two names are not very common for Russia. Of course, it is correct to address her by her full name: Stefania-Mariana. But friends and relatives call me differently. Some call me Maryana, others Stefa. I like both names.

- How did it happen that everyone has one name, but you have two names at once?

— I was born in Ukraine on St. Stephen’s Day and, when I was baptized, I was named Stefania according to the Catholic calendar. And mom and dad decided to give her a name on her own and called her Maryana.

— Stefania-Maryana, you devoted two years to “Ural dumplings.” And why did you suddenly decide to leave when the show was at the peak of its popularity?

— I dreamed of starring in the series for six months. To be honest, I went nowhere from dumplings. There were suggestions that I had quarreled with the team... But I just left because I realized that this was the ceiling. I can't jump any higher in the show. It was a bold step for me, but I believed in myself. As they say: you need to get rid of something old so that something new can come. “Ural dumplings” is a very high start, but you always need to move and develop further. And it so happened that two weeks after leaving, my agent called me and invited me to audition for the series “Civil Marriage” on TNT. And I was immediately approved!

- This shows that you are a good actress. But you have no professional education...

- Indeed, I have no acting education. To be honest, I have no intention of going to study. I am sure that a person gets the best experience directly while working. There are many wonderful and talented actors without education. The only thing that matters is what you know and can do. And 150 professional actresses auditioned for my role in the series!

— Is your character in the series different from those married ladies you played before?

— My Anya doesn’t have good relationships with men at all. She manages the process herself and invites people on dates. By the way, I was the same until I met my boyfriend Sergei.

- So you also had to invite people on dates?

- Yes. If I liked a boy, then I looked after him. Of course, I didn’t give flowers (laughs), but I did give various surprises. For example, one boy had breakfast on the roof (laughs). Then I met Seryozha. We played with him in KVN. At first they were just friends, and then they started dating. He was the first to start courting me. But everything was mutual.

“I miss playing roles with Dima Brekotkin,” says the actress.

— The series focuses on the relationship between a man and a woman. And before that, you still had a whole team consisting of successful men. I'm talking about “Pelmeni”. Was Sergei jealous?

— My Seryozha is successful himself! He is a very smart person and a talented architect. Designed an airport in Perm and bars in Yekaterinburg. Why should he be jealous of the success of other men? The only thing is that Seryozha joked that he didn’t like the scenes with Brekotkin when we played spouses (laughs) But I miss my numbers with Dima. And if I need to play with Brekotkin again, then I’m in favor with both hands!

- Looking at how convincingly you played the experienced wife, it’s hard to believe that you are only 25...

- This really infuriates me (laughs). But I understand why this happens. After all, I worked in a team where all the participants were 20-25 years older than me! Just imagine! And I played their wives there. Of course people will perceive me as older. But on TNT I finally played a heroine of my age. Hooray!

— Did you try to bring our Ural flavor into the image of your heroine?

— Everyone heard my Ural dialect and immediately asked where I was from. In Moscow, because of the series “Real Boys,” everyone immediately thinks that I’m from Perm, since I say so. When my agent Lera and I just met and had not yet started working, the first thing she said was that we needed to stop talking. But I didn’t do this, to be honest. Then time passed, and somehow I was invited to film a project. Everyone there was delighted with the way I spoke and told me not to remove my speech under any circumstances. In general, now this is my thing.

-An amazing coincidence. On December 19, when there was a pre-premiere show in Moscow, it was 4 years since Seryozha and I had been together. And January 9, the day of the premiere, is my birthday. Double holiday. For the second year in a row, I plan to throw a noisy party, but the day before I decide that I don’t want anything like that. And just spending time with my loved one. You should always do what you want. Especially on your birthday. If I want to sit in front of the TV all day, I’ll do that!

“My character in the TV series “Civil Marriage” invites everyone on dates, just like me,” says the actress.

—Are you planning to move to Moscow?

— I’ll definitely move. My boyfriend and I want to develop. And Moscow is an excellent platform for this. There is room to grow and move. The only thing is that there is no urgent need to move yet; we will settle all matters in Yekaterinburg and move quietly.
