Biography and personal life of Tamara Akulova

The biography and personal life of Tamara Akulova has been of concern to numerous fans of Soviet and Russian cinema for more than 35 years.

The little girl was born in 1957 in a small village located near Voronezh. The father died tragically shortly after the birth of the baby. The mother was left alone with two daughters in her arms. Tamara has an older sister, Larisa, who is 6 years older than her. A few years later, my mother married for the second time. The man completely replaced the girls' father. He was strict but fair.

Since childhood, Tamara dreamed of playing on stage. She gathered children around her and performed performances in front of them. During her school years, Akulova attended the school drama club, in which she honed her acting skills. Relatives came to my daughter’s performances.

After receiving the certificate, our heroine goes to Voronezh. She enters the Institute of Food Industry. But after a few months, it becomes clear to the girl that she chose the wrong profession.

Tamara takes the documents and goes to the capital to become a student at a theater university. Luck smiled on her. On the first try, she enters several theater institutes, but chooses VGIK for herself. The aspiring actress is strongly supported by her teachers: Sergei Bondarchuk and Irina Skobtseva.

Childhood and family of Tamara Akulova

Tamara Akulova was born in the village of Novaya Uman, Voronezh region. This significant event occurred on March 25, 1957. Her ancestors were from peasants. My father, a native of Siberia, lived through half of Russia during World War II. It was then, while passing through Voronezh with the Red Army troops, that he met his future wife. After the war they officially got married. And very soon their two daughters were born. Our today's heroine was the youngest of them.

Actress Tamara Akulova in her youth

It is worth noting that Tamara Akulova practically did not know her father. Due to war wounds, he died quite early, and therefore the mother of the future actress soon remarried. Thus, the upbringing of our today’s heroine and her older sister was mainly done by her stepfather, Sergei Mironovich. Tamara always spoke very flatteringly about this man.

As for acting talent, it began to manifest itself in the soul of the future celebrity very early. Already at the age of six, she began to stage improvised plays, acting out certain stories in front of friends and neighbors. However, despite her passionate love for theatrical art, after graduating from school Tamara Akulova chose a very prosaic specialty for herself. Our today's heroine began studying to become a food industry specialist at one of the universities in Voronezh. Here she studied for a whole year. But, in the end, she realized that rolls and pasta were not her main calling in life.

Filmography: films starring Tamara Akulova

Even in her student years, the filmography of the film actress began. Each of her roles becomes famous. Among the works of that time one can highlight the roles of Lady Rowenna in “The Ballad of the Valiant Knight Ivanhoe”, Lady Glenarvan in “The Search for Captain Grant”, Maria Sergeeva from “Sunday Pope” and many others.

In the difficult 90s, directors for some reason stopped inviting women to their films. For 10 years, she played in only a few films, and then only in episodes. But since the beginning of the new millennium, proposals for filming have poured in like from a cornucopia. She played in “Heiress”, “Third Heaven”, “Third World War” and many others.

For her successful artistic career, in 2005 Akulova received the title of Honored Artist of the Russian Federation.

The star of Russian cinema built personal happiness twice. Only on the second try did she manage to become happy. Currently, she lives happily with her husband. The film actress has two children who are already leading their own lives.

Love secrets of Tamara Akulova

* Fanatic doctors gave the daughter of a wonderful actress a terrible diagnosis * The star broke up with her first husband because he bit a traffic cop * An outstanding Estonian tennis player killed his wife because of her infidelity with Tamara’s husband

Tamara AKULOVA became famous in the early 1980s after starring in the musical comedy “Poor Masha.” Then the beauty played memorable roles in the films “The Ballad of the Valiant Knight Ivanhoe”, “Sunday Dad”, “In Search of Captain Grant”. Having experienced an unsuccessful marriage with theater director and choreographer Yuri SHERLING, Tamara met the main love of her life - film director Elier ISHMUKHAMEDOV. They have been together for almost 30 years. Shortly before her next birthday (the actress turns 57 on March 25), Akulova and her family spoke about family secrets.

“I was lucky in my profession, but talent or at least luck must be attached to appearance,” says Tamara Akulova. “You can’t go far on beauty alone.” I came to conquer Moscow at the age of 19, and before that I studied at the Voronezh Institute of Food Industry. And suddenly there was a crazy competition at VGIK with Sergei Bondarchuk and Irina Skobtseva. By the time she started studying at the Cinematography Institute, our heroine had managed to marry director Yuri Sherling, who was 13 years older than her. “At the time Tamara and I met, I was filming one of my films at the Kyiv studio together with Maxim Dunaevsky,” recalls Yuri Borisovich. — And, of course, he suggested Akulov for the role of the main character. I realized that there was extraordinary sincerity in the girl’s blue eyes. This touched me not only as a director, but also as a man. And then her career went on, she entered VGIK, everyone saw: a heroine appeared!

Tamara, who is called one of the most charming Soviet artists, is also a very sweet and friendly woman in real life.

Sherling admits: back then he was a real playboy. Not having a macho appearance, he drove dazzling beauties crazy. And a couple of years before meeting Akulova, he became one of the participants in a tragic love story that shocked the whole of Estonia. In May 1974, the outstanding tennis player Toomas Leius (at the age of 22, the Tallinnian was the seventh racket in the world) strangled his wife, having become jealous of Sherling. There are several versions of the development of events, the most convincing looks like this. Sherling came to Tallinn to stage the musical “The Skinny Prize”. In the then famous variety show at the Viru Hotel, Yuri met a charming long-legged dancer named Ene, intending to take her to the main role. The girl turned out to be the wife of tennis player Leius. This did not bother the director. Not only did he have a crazy affair with her, but he was also going to marry her. Ene nicknamed Yuri “an exotic monkey.” He knew how to look after: he drove around Tallinn in a red Volga, did not spare money for his beloved, and the sex was a hurricane. The Estonian woman did not hide from her husband and, declaring that she had fallen in love with someone else, drove off to Moscow with Sherling. The tennis player started drinking out of grief and even got into a dark story, for which the police detained him. During the investigation, he was released on his own recognizance. Having learned about this, Ene rushed to support Toomas. But one day, having heard his missus talking to her lover in the capital on the phone, Leius demanded to leave him and immediately tried to begin fulfilling his marital duties. But Ene pushed him away, shouting: “I love that monkey!” Thomas threw his wife onto the bed and smothered her with a pillow. At the funeral, Sherling covered the grave with the wedding dress that had been purchased for their wedding. For murder, the tennis player was given eight years, of which he served only three and was released for good behavior.

The vicissitudes of love

Sherling won the heart of Tamara Akulova no less effectively than before, courting the Estonian beauty. I took Tom to restaurants, drove around Moscow in a Mercedes and introduced him to bohemian friends. “We got married, and in the third year, or rather, during the summer holidays, I gave birth to Anya,” says the actress. “And already in September I went to the fourth year to continue my studies. Several years ago, Sherling published a book of memoirs, in which, among other things, he spoke about life with Akulova: “I must note that Tamara surprised me more than once with her oddities. She either rushed to me, as if to a beloved Decembrist, in Birobidzhan or Chelyabinsk, or completely disappeared from sight. Just as suddenly she returned to me at Smolenskaya, to her seemingly permanent residence - she had no other place. She explained that she spent the night with a friend or went to Novaya Usman to visit her parents, although I never found out where she actually disappeared. These absences stopped after we got married and Tamara became pregnant. Another thing was alarming: Anya was in her second month, but Tamara still did not awaken a true sense of motherhood. Accustomed to a carefree life, she was noticeably burdened by the responsibilities and worries that had fallen on her shoulders. More than once I found her at the mirror - Toma spent a long time looking with displeasure at her plump figure after giving birth. Listened to endless complaints. She said that breastfeeding would deteriorate and it was time to switch to bottles. I tried to object: you can’t do this in the summer, the child might get hurt. Tamara immediately began to prove that she was a future film actress and had to stay in shape. And as soon as I forget about it, she will take care of herself.” From the book it is clear that the couple’s family life did not work out; the spouses often argued. Akulova took care of herself, and Sherling devoted all his time to the development of the Jewish Chamber Musical Theater he created. “In general, Tamara stood at the origins of the theater,” Yuri Borisovich says now. — To this day I am its artistic director and director. At the same time, we huddled in a small room on Smolenskaya. But one day all the work had to be pushed aside. A terrible thing happened. Our daughter got sick. They admitted me to the Filatov hospital, and the doctors there made the wrong diagnosis - almost cirrhosis of the liver! They forbade her to eat and drink. We rushed around among our friends, looking for any options to cure Anya. With incredible difficulty we managed to take her abroad. And it turned out that the Moscow doctors screwed up, they treated incorrectly and their assumptions were nonsense! Anyuta, on the contrary, had to eat, even foods that were unusual for a child, for example, more mustard.

Alas, having a child together and problems raising him destroyed the family of Sherling and Akulova. The director says in the book: “We quarreled over trifles, made peace for a short time and quarreled again. Apparently, I was deeply mistaken in thinking that I could mold a truly my woman out of a naive village girl... Tamara had hobbies, some of which she told me about herself. And I forgave. Why? I don’t know, I’m far from being one of the good men...” Akulova acted a lot then, her partners were the first beauties of Soviet cinema - Vitaly Solomin, Leonid Filatov, Sergei Shakurov, Nikolai Eremenko. The actress said that, for example, the latter walked around her like a peacock on the set of the film “In Search of Captain Grant.” But she, they say, nipped in the bud any attempts to translate the love relationships of their movie characters into life.

“I won’t bore the reader with the details of family troubles,” Sherling continues. “I’ll just say that I was very worried about them, especially how the fate of my daughter turned out. She lived with her grandparents until she was seven years old, when it was time to go to school. I couldn’t take my daughter with me - I was forced to leave the Soviet Union and lived abroad. But Anya knew and loved dad. Tamara, having sent the girl to the village, devoted herself entirely to her career and personal life. Larisa, Tamara's childless sister, took Anechka to Germany. Then the sisters quarreled, and Tamara took her daughter to Moscow. But they could not live together. And one day Anya - she was already 12 by then - with a backpack on her back, which contained all her outfits, came to me in Lyalin Lane and stayed with us. Documentary writer Fyodor Razzakov in his book “Star Tragedies” mentioned the story of the divorce of Sherling and Akulova. Allegedly, their relationship finally deteriorated after Yuri Borisovich... bit a traffic police officer, and Tamara, they say, gave testimony, after which the director was found guilty. What happened? The answer to this question may have been given by a reader of the newspaper “Soviet Sport”, who told this story on the publication’s online forum as follows: “Sherling was once pulled over by traffic cops. He refused to get out of the car because he was under a strong temperature. The traffic cop put his hand through the window to pull out the ignition key, and Sherling bit his hand with his teeth. Things got going. The traffic cops argued that he had attempted the life of their comrade, trying to bite him to death, and the head director of the Jewish theater insisted that he simply hit the employee with his front teeth... This was in 1984, the theater was soon closed. And Sherling fled abroad... Yuri Borisovich himself interpreted what happened as the machinations of the KGB, which tried in every possible way to interfere with the “resurgent Jewish identity.” They say that the authorities staged this provocation and forced Tamara to testify against her husband.

Nice flower

In 1986, at a film festival in Tashkent, Akulova met her current husband, film director Elier Ishmukhamedov. The actress saw a tall, dark, handsome man and asked Larisa Udovichenko, who was sitting next to her at a table in a restaurant, if she knew him. And when Udovichenko named the director, Tamara gasped. It turns out that she studied his magnificent early films “Tenderness” and “Lovers” at VGIK! Their romance developed rapidly, they soon got married, and their son Dima was born. There were no longer any disputes about careers and raising a child. The loving director, on the contrary, helped his wife in everything, calling her a muse, and directed her in his own films. - This is normal, the husband is a director and should direct his wife, an actress! — Akulova smiles. — I’m not a saleswoman in a store, I don’t work at a factory, why don’t we do joint creativity? I have absolutely no interest in talking about this behind my back. Elier is a wonderful person and I find it very easy to work with him. Our next film “Nail” will be released soon. With the same tenderness, Akulova speaks about their son: “Dmitry is 24 years old.” He is studying at a medical institute and receiving a second education. Before that, he mastered the specialty of psychologist. Completely free from the acting profession, such thoughts never even crossed his mind. It turned out differently for my daughter. She graduated from MGIMO and RATI, acting course of Viktor Rakov. Acting in films. She has a husband and two children, my favorite grandchildren are Sophia and Nidal. Anna's wife's name is Hisham, he is half Arab and a businessman.

Estonian tennis player LEYUS strangled his wife, jealous of her for SHERLING

— You look great, how do you feel about your age? — I ask Tamara Vasilievna. “For me, this is a completely non-painful topic. There is no turning back anything; some stages of life passed easily and colorfully. I like all the changes. I am happy when my grandchildren call me grandmother. I don’t do plastic surgery because I want to be in demand and act in older roles. I go to the pool, do yoga, and fast. The first husband and daughter congratulate the actress on her birthday through our newspaper. “Tamara is endowed with a unique folk talent, the camera loves her very much,” Yuri Sherling is sure. “She’s a good person, a friend, a brilliant housewife.” Tamara grows from the circumstances that life dictates to her; she harmoniously fits into today's reality. A good flower needs abundantly watered soil. Tamara is lucky - she has a worthy husband, a great director, children, grandchildren, everything is in order. Now we communicate quite normally, we often drink a bottle. “On my mother’s birthday, my husband and I will invite her to a restaurant,” shared Anna Sherling. - Let's give you some jewelry. Last year they presented me with a bag from Louis Vuitton. We are friends with her, I love her very much! I also adore my stepfather, I call him dad, he is my dear person.

The future actress was born in the village of Novaya Usman, Voronezh region.
