The success story of Yuri Dud: sports journalist and video blogger

Basta's prank

Do you think the woman who appeared in Basta’s new show “GazLIVE” is Yuri Dud’s real wife or not?

I have a feeling that Yuri will get it in the comments.

A recording of the GazLIVE show can be viewed below. The exit of Yuri Dud's wife at the end of the thirty-ninth minute - link to the episode

However, the intrigue was quickly destroyed by the publication of several existing photographs of Yuri Dud and his companion at the GQ Awards (presumably his real wife).

The question remains: did Dud know about the impending prank, or did Basta surprise him too. My personal opinion is that I didn’t know.

Career

Since 2011, Yuri has worked on television in the sports editorial office of the NTV-Plus . In 2012–2013, he hosted the program “Headbutt” and the documentary series “30 Spartans” . At the same time, Yuri commentated on football on the Sport-1 .

In 2013–2015, Yuri Dud hosted the author’s program “Culture” on Match TV .

Yuri’s most significant career growth is associated with the Internet portal “Sports.ru” . In 2011, he took the position of editor-in-chief, 7 years later he became deputy general director, and is currently one of the co-owners of the portal.

First love: celebrity couples who have been together since school

It would seem that almost every week we see reports of another celebrity divorce. Famous couples give birth to children, talk about family happiness on social networks, share love stories, but in the end they come to a sad end to the relationship - separation. However, this is not a reason to stop believing in love, because even among the stars there are strong family unions.

We have collected ten couples who met while studying - at school or university - and still continue to live together.

Alexander and Ekaterina Strizhenov

The Strizhenovs have been together for more than 30 years - their marriage is considered exemplary in the cinematic environment. Sasha was 13 years old and Katya was 14 when they met on the set of the film “Leader,” which took place in Sochi. At first, Catherine did not like Alexander: she considered him an arrogant representative of the “golden youth”. But the teenager immediately paid attention to Katya. Upon arrival from filming, the guys continued to communicate and later got married. The couple have two daughters: Anastasia and Alexandra. There was a period when Alexander and Catherine separated for a short time. As the TV presenter now recalls, the reason was completely “stupid”: her husband did not meet her at the airport. Later, Alexander finally returned his wife, and the family was safely reunited.

Mark Zuckerberg and Priscilla Chan

Mark and Priscilla's acquaintance was not the most romantic: the young people began to communicate while they were standing in line for the toilet at a fraternity party. This happened in 2003 while both were studying at Harvard. Mark was holding a mug with a comic inscription in the C++ programming language. Chan noticed this and they laughed. “I think he appreciated that I understood the joke,” says the girl. In 2012, the lovers got married. Priscilla always supported her boyfriend, and then her husband, in his endeavors and believed in the idea of creating a social network. In 2020, the couple became parents to daughter Max, and in 2017, baby August. The path to parenthood was not easy for the Zuckerberg-Chans: before the birth of their first daughter, Priscilla had three miscarriages, but this only brought the spouses together.

Alexey Shcherbakov and his wife Elena

The recent interview of stand-up comedian Alexey Shcherbakov with Yuri Dud made a great impression on the viewers of the project. The fact is that the resident of the Stand Up show on TNT spoke so touchingly about his wife that videos with his confessions immediately spread across public networks on social networks and collected thousands of views and comments. Shcherbakov said that he fell in love with his wife in the eighth grade - they studied at the same school. At first she did not reciprocate the young man’s feelings, but after some time she gave up. The couple later got married and now have two sons. “I adore her,” says Alexey and adds: “I like to say that I never cheat, because it seems to me that I’m the only one.” Very soon the couple will celebrate their 10th anniversary of family life.

Prince William and Kate Middleton

One of the most famous couples in the world met at the University of St. Andrews: it was here that both studied. It all started in 2002 with friendship: the young people talked a lot and spent time together, but in every possible way denied rumors among friends that they were having an affair. However, in 2004, the truth was revealed: the couple rented a mansion together, and then the last doubts disappeared. After some time, the lovers broke up due to William’s desire to spend more time in the company of friends and at parties. However, they managed to overcome the crisis, but for this Katherine received an offensive nickname in the press - “Waiting Katie”, because the prince was in no hurry to propose marriage. Everything changed in 2010 and a trip to Kenya: it was there that William presented Kate with the ring of his mother Princess Diana and called her down the aisle. Now the couple are already raising three children - George, Charlotte and Louis.

Snoop Dogg and Shante Broadus

Who would have thought that famous rappers with a ton of fans all over the world could remain faithful? An example of this: Snoop Dogg, who met his wife Shante in school and even then decided that she would become his wife. The girl came to watch the guy’s team’s football game, and that’s when he noticed her. It happened exactly as the rapper wanted: in 1997, Shante became his wife, and at the time of the wedding the newlyweds were already parents, and the bride was pregnant with her second child (the third was later born). Despite the beautiful love story, not everything was smooth in the star relationship: in 2004, the couple decided to divorce. After the separation, it became clear to the young people that they felt bad without each other, and they reunited again - however, this happened only four years later. To date, the couple has been together for 23 years.

I chose an expensive restaurant, but it turned out that it was a meeting place for “silicon” girls and businessmen. The atmosphere was terrible, so we quickly had dinner and went for a walk around the city. As a result, somewhere in an alley, on a very ordinary bench, I did what I had in mind,” the journalist shared in one of the videos. The couple has two children: daughter Alena and son Danila.

Is Yuri Dud a good journalist?

Until recently, it was customary to call Yuri “the number one interviewer in Russia.” He achieved this title by asking the following questions

How much do you earn?

And

When you find yourself in front of Putin, what do you tell him?

For example, he asked Slepakov

Are you jerking off?

Another of Dud’s tricks is HUGE questions. At first it looked fresh, but already in the second season it set teeth on edge.

This feature of Yuri was best played out by Gnoyny, constantly asking “A?”

But on the whole, Dud’s starter kit turned out to be enough to appeal not only to the pseudo-liberals that have proliferated in recent years, but also to quite a wide mass of the population, including me.

There were minor failures, so in an interview with Chichvarkin, in “the best traditions of real journalism,” about which Yuri lectures, for some reason he stated that he hated Soviet power. This certainly added points to him in their party, but in essence it looked rather vulgar.

The failure came only in 2019, when Yuri, who called Kiselev a propagandist in his interviews, was unable to ask him almost a single pressing question and was confused about the facts.

It is not clear whether he took the money to be so stupid or did it out of great intelligence.

Then there was an interview with Dmitry Gordon, who is not known in Russia as well as in Ukraine, but those who know have probably heard at least about the pyramids that he advertised.

But for some reason Yuri didn’t ask about pyramids or fortune tellers and clairvoyants. Just enter into a search engine

Pyramids of Yu Shinse Gordon

And decide for yourself whether it was worth asking Gordon where he earned the money for 16 apartments or not.

Remembering that many interviews were done on dates necessary for the interviewees (for example, film rentals), the thinking audience seriously doubted how much ordering goes into the so-called interviews.

Biography of Dudya

Yuri was born in 1986 in the German Democratic Republic, in the city of Potsdam.
According to him, he is Ukrainian by origin and Russian at heart. Dudya's family moved to our country in 1990, when the boy was four years old. As a child, he often visited Ukraine, where all his grandparents lived. Father is the head of the military department of the Bauman Moscow State Technical University, Doctor of Military Sciences, professor, member of the Academy of Military Sciences. Currently retired. Mother is a chemistry teacher at the Moscow College of Olympic Reserve. In the 90s, she worked as a financier in a little-known company. Currently he is raising his grandchildren.

As a child, up until the 4th grade, he was fond of football, but gave it up due to a serious knee injury and the onset of bronchial asthma. Not having the opportunity to play sports, he became interested in journalism: in the fifth grade he wrote notes for the Youth Newspaper. At the age of 13, he began working part-time at the Segodnya newspaper. In 2001, when Yuri was only 14 years old, he was already working as a freelancer for the Izvestia newspaper, where, upon reaching the age of 16, he became a full-time staff correspondent. At the age of 19 he went to work for the PROSport magazine.

Higher education – Faculty of Journalism, Lomonosov Moscow State University (MSU), graduated in 2008.

Yuri Dud leads a sporty lifestyle, does not smoke, and regularly goes to the gym. On his pages on social networks he publishes videos with techniques from football, with his daily routine and healthy diet, with his own exercises for gaining a beautiful body.

He rarely uses a personal car, preferring to travel around Moscow by metro. In music he prefers ska-punk.

Personal life

Figure 3. Dud with his wife

Family relationships are a top priority for a blogger, which is why almost nothing is known about them. Although in his reports he always asks ridiculous, tricky, and sometimes boorish questions concerning personal guests, he is in no hurry to talk about his personal life.

It is only known that the name of his wife is Olya Boneva, who became the mother of two children. Dudya's eldest child is son Danil, the youngest is daughter Alena. There is also no information about where Yuri’s family and his parents live.

A similar situation applies to personal vehicles. According to the blogger, he does not understand the point of driving a car through Moscow traffic jams and has long chosen high-speed public transport for himself.

Documentary

Yuri Dud made his debut as a documentary director in 2017. In collaboration with Alexei Aksenov, he presented the audience with the film “Sergei Bodrov - the main Russian superhero .

The following year, Yuri, together with Evgeny Statsenko, filmed a new documentary project “Oleg Tabakov: how he raised free people .

2019 was marked by the release of Yuri’s iconic films: “Kolyma - the birthplace of our fear”, co-authored with Evgeny Statsenko and “Beslan. Remember”, co-authored with Alexander Golovin.

In 2020, Yuri published another project on his channel, “HIV in Russia – an epidemic that is not talked about.”

“Kolyma is the birthplace of our fear”

The two-hour film is dedicated to the people who built the road between Yakutsk and Magadan in the 1930s and felt all the horror and inhumanity of the Stalinist regression machine.

Yuri Dud, together with the film crew, drove along the Kolyma , interviewing local residents. The famous Russian actor Efim Shifrin and the daughter of one of the pioneers of rocket science, Academician Sergei Korolev, also shared their memories of their repressed parents.

"Beslan. Remember"

The film is dedicated to the events in Beslan on September 1, 2004 , when terrorists seized a school and held students and teachers hostage for two and a half days. During the assault, a large number of hostages died. The film consists of interviews taken by Yuri from witnesses and participants in the tragic events.

In the film, the author emphasized the responsibility of the state, whose political mistakes led to the Beslan tragedy.

Films about Beslan and Kolyma caused a mixed reaction in Russian society, which resulted in heated controversy in the media space and social networks.

Key achievements

In addition to the fact that the 32-year-old guy today holds the position of chief deputy general director of the Russian sports Internet portal Sport.ru, the biography of Yuri Dud is listed as another achievement. His original show “vDud” has about 58 million subscribers, which is a record for the Russian Internet.

According to the regular magazine for men, Gentlemen's Quarterly, he was recognized as “Man of the Year 2016” in the “Face from TV” category, and the following year won in the same category “Face from the Screen”.
