Konstantin Khabensky - original post

Biography

Konstantin Khabensky was born in Leningrad. His father was a hydrological engineer, his mother a mathematics teacher. In 1981, he and his family moved to Nizhnevartovsk, where he lived for 4 years. The Khabensky family returned to Leningrad at the very beginning of perestroika. At the end of the eighth grade, Konstantin entered the technical school of aviation instrument making and automation, but after the third year he took away the documents, realizing that the technical specialty was not for him. He worked as a floor polisher, a janitor, and a street musician. Then he got a job as an assembler at the theater-studio “Subbota”. It was there that he became interested in theater and as soon as the opportunity arose, he went on stage as an extra. “I got into acting only, probably, because of some stubbornness. I worked both as a watchman in a theater and as an assembler - I decided to try to see if I could get in? And I could. Then I decided to try - can I finish my studies? Finished my studies. But while I was still an assembler, combining going on stage and my main job, that’s when, probably, I first felt some kind of buzz from the stage,” said Konstantin Khabensky in an interview with the “Cinemania” program. In 1990, Khabensky entered the Leningrad State Institute of Theater, Music and Cinematography (LGITMiK) in the workshop of Veniamin Filshtinsky, who was considered the best among the masters of the acting school in the country. During the years of study, he played a number of major roles: Lomov in the vaudeville "Jokes" by A.P. Chekhov, several roles in the production of "The Time of Vysotsky", tightrope walker Matto in "The Road" by Federico Fellini, Chebutykin in "Three Sisters". Khabensky’s graduation work is Estragon (Gogo) staged by Yuri Butusov “Waiting for Godot”. The play was shown at the Golden Mask festival and received awards in two categories at once - “Best Director’s Work” and “Critics Prize”.

Khabensky - lover of our time

“Kostya should become a mathematician!”

Khabensky’s parents did not believe that acting, their son’s childhood hobby, would become his calling

Parents

Kostya’s mother Tatyana Khabenskaya (her maiden name was Nikulina) was born in Yoshkar-Ola, the capital of the current Mari El Republic. Here she graduated from school with a silver medal. As her classmates recall, she did not receive a gold medal only because she wrote her graduation essay with a 4. That, however, did not prevent her from easily entering the Leningrad Institute...

Tatyana’s school friend Svetlana Shirshova (Vasilieva) recalls:

— We lived in house number 105 on Volkova Street. The Nikulins are on the first floor, and we are above... Kostya’s grandmother Lidia Ivanovna worked as a dentist at the Polytechnic Institute, next to the school, she helped out if, for example, we were shirking our lessons, she wrote out certificates... And Kostya’s grandfather, Uncle Gena, an engineer, said hello so polite. Always wearing a gray suit with white stripes...

Tanya, the only child in the family, grew up so pedantic, considered the main thing in life to be study and adored physics... And in Leningrad, at the same university, at the Faculty of Hydraulic Engineering, where she entered, Tatyana met Yuri, the only man in her life and Kostya’s father. The same lover of exact sciences.

On January 11, 1972, the first-born son, Kostya, appeared in the family. After graduating from university, Yura and Tanya Khabensky left to build a state district power station in Nizhnevartovsk. And by the time the family, having saved up enough money for an apartment, returned to St. Petersburg, Kostya already had a sister, Natasha. And my mother got a job as a teacher at a school.

...Last year, almost all of Tanya’s former classmates gathered in Yoshkar-Ola for the 40th anniversary of graduation. Tatyana Khabenskaya could not come from St. Petersburg - in those days Kostya’s father was seriously ill. Soon he was gone...

Childhood

In the first grade, Kostya’s parents sent him to Yoshkar-Ola to live with his grandmother. Here young Khabensky began going to the school drama club - after school. And once, in a sanatorium on Lake Yalchik, where his grandmother assigned him in the summer, he went on stage - with a guitar in his hands, sang something from Vysotsky and, barely finished singing, ran backstage...

My mother’s classmate Lyudmila Konyuchkova (Popova) recalls how grandmother Lidia Ivanovna introduced her grandson who had arrived from St. Petersburg - just like an adult: “The thin teenager of about twelve bowed so nobly, politely noted that he was glad to meet me, and sat down on the sofa only after me . I think this good manners and respect for people were inherited by him...”

Later, when Kostya started talking about an acting career seriously, mom and dad were skeptical about it. It seemed to them that their son should follow in their footsteps: become a scientist, a third-generation physicist and mathematician!

At the insistence of his parents, after eight years of school, Kostya Khabensky entered the Leningrad College of Aviation Instrumentation. I studied three courses, and then entered the Leningrad State Institute of Theater, Music and Cinematography.

Now Tatyana Gennadievna, of course, had to come to terms with the idea that her son was an actor, and a popular one at that. But she still doesn’t like to be frank with strangers about her son.

...Konstantin Khabensky has not been to Yoshkar-Ola for a long time. There are no relatives left here. My mother took my grandmother to St. Petersburg, my grandfather died. And in the 11th school where he studied, there were no teachers left who remembered him.

- Oh, we didn’t know who this boy would grow up to be, we would have taken autographs and taken pictures together! - Tatyana Gennadievna’s friends from Yoshkar-Ola laugh...

Yana ZVEREVA. (“KP” - Cheboksary”).

Khabensky has a lot of bright roles behind him - the television series “Deadly Force” alone is worth it! And the first “Night Watch”?! That is, viewers noticed him a long time ago...

But here’s an interesting line that can be followed: from the hardworking “cop” Plakhov, step by step, little by little, Kostya turned into a universal hero-lover! In almost every film, Khabensky’s heroes play tricks - casually, seriously, with one or even several partners in one film! Even with a quick review, we counted

10 mistresses whom he managed to conquer - and this is clearly not a complete list...

Affairs

It started with the film “Women’s Property,” where Kostya played a freshman in love with an elderly teacher (Elena Safonova), thanks to whom he entered the university. And after her death, he found solace with a pretty accountant (Amalia Mordvinova at that time).

In the performance of the Moscow Art Theater. In Chekhov’s “Duck Hunt,” Zilov, the hero Kostya, has a mistress, but he doesn’t want to let go of his wife (Marina Zudina) either... The actor explained this in one interview:

- This is a normal male feeling towards women... Some extinguish all feelings in themselves and do this day after day and turn into a machine, while others do not want to extinguish and make life richer for themselves.

Khabensky was caught twice with the sexy Oksana Fandera. Both times - in the films of her husband Philip Yankovsky. Moreover, the hero of the film “On the Move” cheats on Fandera’s heroine with Anastasia Kalmanovich’s heroine. And the hero of “State Councilor” is with the heroine Maria Mironova.

And in “Caligula,” a performance by the St. Petersburg Theater. Lensovet, carried away by the love affair of his hero, he played so hard that he once even fell into the aisle between the rows in the auditorium!

Faithful husband

But in life Kostya is completely different. Just as he married, he remains faithful to his wife Anastasia.

It was love at first sight - they met in a cafe near the theater. Kostya simply approached two girlfriends and invited the one he liked to the premiere of that same “Caligula”. How did it end? Wedding. Moreover, the lovers, without unnecessary ceremony, appeared at the registry office in jeans and sweaters...

...But where there are family idylls, there are spiteful critics. About five years ago, someone started a rumor that the third child of actress Evgenia Dobrovolskaya was from Khabensky. But the nonsense was forgotten. Fortunately, evil tongues did not destroy the peace in the Khabensky family.

And with what a scandal he drove away a fan who broke into his dressing room after the play “The White Guard”! I don’t know about that fan, but my wife must certainly appreciate this...

Elena LAPTEVA.

FROM THE HOURS

What Khabensky himself says...

...about first love:

“I don’t even remember her image, let alone her name.” It was in Nizhnevartovsk. There is snow there almost all year... And against the backdrop of all this whiteness, snowdrifts, sleds, there was the “flight of the soul of a first-grader,” wrapped in all kinds of fur coats and hats!

...about “Day Watch”:

— My image in “Day Watch” has become more lyrical. In the first film, my Anton was more of a warrior, but here he fell in love...

...about fidelity:

- One woman is not enough, roughly speaking, for one woman, he switches to another, a fifth and a tenth, and the other does not have enough life to love one and only one. One doesn’t have enough life, while the other doesn’t even have five minutes. It all depends on your character.

...about his wife Anastasia:

— My wife treats my popularity with understanding. Just like any wise woman.

(From the actor’s interview with various media).

Awards we would give to an actor

If we break down the “Year of Khabensky” into nominations, we get something like this:

Classic of the year - Claudius (Hamlet, staged by Yu. Butusov at the Chekhov Moscow Art Theater).

Fraudster of the Year - swindler Edik (“Poor Relatives” by Pavel Lungin).

Surrealism of the year - Chichikov (Pavel Lungin’s series “The Case of Dead Souls”).

The villain of the year is the terrorists in “State Councilor” (dir. - F. Yankovsky) and “Death of the Empire” (dir. - V. Khotinenko).

“Cranberry” of the year - Trotsky (V. Bezrukov’s series “Yesenin”). This time, the actor’s taste in choosing the role somewhat let him down. But even in this controversial project, he looks quite convincing.

The atrocity of the year is the dubbing of the full-length Hollywood cartoon “Madagascar”, where animals from the zoo act.

The wizard of the year is the magician Anton Gorodetsky in “Day Watch” (dir. - T. Bekmambetov), which appeared on the screens on the night from last to this, new year.

When Konstantin Khabensky appeared to a wide circle of moviegoers in the film “Women’s Property,” it already became clear: he would go far. They thought about the same about young Menshikov after the Pokrovsky Gate. And their type is similar - not a brutal male, but a very sexually attractive, well-mannered young man. And they both build their careers by advertising not the events of their lives, but their mystique - I don’t give interviews, I hang out only at the highest-ranking parties, I don’t comment on rumors, and in general I’m superstar, don’t look how young I am...

And here is the result - the past year can be called the year of Khabensky. He played all the roles in notable film and theater projects of notable directors. Each one is worthy of some kind of award (see our proposals above).

In general, some actors will not play as many meaningful roles in their entire lives as Khabensky has done in the last year. All that remains is to congratulate both him and the audience.

Later in an interview, the actor admitted that he was “offered to star in the series at a time when he didn’t have any special acting biography, so there was nothing to spoil.” This is quick and easy success. But, as often happens in such cases, it is important not to become a hostage to one role. This did not happen to Konstantin Khabensky: his filmography is extremely diverse. It was he who decided to move the action 100 years ago, the events will unfold on December 24, 1914, on Christmas Eve according to the old style. The artist’s next notable work was the detective series “Method”. He reincarnated as investigator Rodion Viktorovich Meglin, who, together with his partner played by Paulina Andreeva, is investigating the most complicated serial murders. In 2020, Konstantin Khabensky and Evgeny Mironov starred in the film “Time of the First” about the first manned spacewalk. The role of cosmonaut Pavel Belyaev was played by Khabensky, and Leonov by Mironov. Cosmonaut Alexei Leonov, the main character of the film, acted as a consultant during the filming.
