Biography
Ekaterina Anatolyevna Shpitsa was born on October 29, 1985. The actress’s mother, Galina Fedorovna Karpovskaya, is a lawyer, criminal defense attorney; her father, Anatoly Vasilyevich Shpitsa, is Ukrainian by nationality, worked as a miner for a long time, and later opened his own furniture manufacturing business.

The future actress was born prematurely when her mother Galina Fedorovna Karpovskaya was visiting her mother in the city of Perm.
Ekaterina’s parents lived in the city of Inta, Komi Republic. This is a small mining town in the Far North. In her hometown, where Ekaterina lived until she was 13, there is no road traffic, there is practically no summer, and sometimes you can see reindeer on the streets.
Katya's childhood was happy, her family was friendly and easy-going. Parents and their daughter often went out into nature.
Even as a child, Katya, along with other children, acted out scenes from the series “Santa Barbara,” which their mothers watched on TV in the evenings.
Until the 6th grade, Katya studied at experimental school No. 22. The school curriculum, in addition to English and French, also included solfeggio, choreography and musical literature.
Katya speaks warmly about her childhood. She says that she was engaged in active work and creativity. She took part in reading competitions, and always won leading roles at matinees. At home, she amused her relatives with fables that she herself composed.
Katya spent her summer holidays with her grandmother in Ukraine in the village of Stetsovka, Cherkasy region. When guests gathered, she loved to sing ditties and participate in rural fairs and holidays. Despite this, Katya’s relatives did not predict an acting future, and the girl herself did not then think that she would choose this profession.
When she turned 13, her parents decided to move to Perm. But due to default, the family lost almost all their savings and money from the sale of the apartment. Then Katya’s father, a jack of all trades, opened his own business and began making furniture.
In Perm, the future actress studied foreign languages in depth at a specialized school. I really missed my old school and my friends who remained at Inta.
In the new school, among children from wealthy families, Katya felt uncomfortable. But after some time, the girl enrolled in a theater club, and problems with classmates faded into the background.
In the school theater, performances were staged in French, thanks to which knowledge of the language and acting talent were improved.
At the age of 13, Ekaterina entered the KOD theater studio in the city of Perm. Just 2 years later, despite her young age, she was transferred to the New Drama youth theater. Since then, she began acting professionally and getting leading roles.
In 10th grade, the girl won a well-deserved victory in a beauty contest. The competition was judged by musicians from the Scorpions group. Ekaterina really wanted to go to the concert of a famous group. Since the participants were guaranteed tickets, the girl signed up for the competition. During her performances, she was noticed by Moscow photographer Alexey Vasiliev, who was selecting models to work in Perm. But her low weight and figure parameters did not fit into the requirements - due to her insufficient height, Ekaterina’s modeling career did not work out.
At the graduation, the organizer of the celebration drew attention to the girl and invited her to dance in the club. Later, as a student, when Ekaterina became an adult, she worked in a club as a go-go dancer.
The girl graduated from school with a gold medal. And at the same time I entered two universities at once: the Perm Institute of Culture in the acting department and the Faculty of Law - in absentia.
Quite by accident, Katya ended up in Moscow when, upon returning from Ukraine, she did not have enough money to go home. She was sheltered by Vasiliev, a photographer whom she met at a beauty contest in Perm. It was he who brought the girl to the casting. This is how Katerina got to the “Star Factory”, but she did not go beyond the second round, which she does not regret at all.
Ekaterina began working in a production studio, combining the duties of a choreographer, singer and English tutor. The studio manager showed the girl to her father, the famous director Yungvald-Khilkevich, who directed D'Artagnan and the Three Musketeers. He offered Catherine a role in the film “Adam and the Transformation of Eve.”

The film composer and director of the Moscow State Musical Theater of National Art, Vladimir Nazarov, invited the girl to his troupe, where she still works.

Ekaterina, after graduating from school, entered the university at the Faculty of Law and the Perm Academy of Culture at the same time, choosing the field of acting for study.
The future actress began to take her first steps towards the big stage while still a schoolgirl, from the age of 13, playing first on the stage of a school theater group, and then in the KOD theater.
At the age of fifteen, the young talent was transferred to the Perm city theater “New Drama”. The talented girl was noted as showing great promise. As a result, Catherine began to receive leading roles.
