Biography
Kristina Kuzmina was born into an intelligent family: her father is an engineer, her mother is a doctor. The girl was introduced to the world of art by her aunt: “My aunt, actress Nelya Popova, became my guide to the world of theater. From the age of five I went to rehearsals with her and sat in on her performances. The theater fascinated me even then.”
From a young age, Christina dreamed of being an actress. She studied at the children's musical theater named after Viktor Reznikov. And at the same time I took piano lessons.
At the age of 14 she began working as a fashion model at the Modus Vivendi agency. She starred in many advertising campaigns, and also became the face of the St. Petersburg TV channel. However, her passion for modeling did not last long.
Taking part in the Miss St. Petersburg beauty contest, the girl unexpectedly became interested in radio broadcasting. Then she got a job at Radio Record, becoming the youngest DJ in the entire northern capital.
Christina did not stop there. She could be heard not only on the radio, but also seen in fashionable nightclubs. There she played hardcore music.
Thanks to her work at Radio Record, Kuzmina met a variety of musicians. And she even tried herself as a vocalist, performing with such groups as “Baltic Clan”, “Peregrev”, “7.62”, “Just like that”.
In 1997, the aspiring actress entered St. Petersburg State Technical University on the course of Alexander Isakov. It was difficult to combine study, work and performances, so the girl took an academic leave from the institute and returned in 1999 to take the course of Vladislav Pazi and Yuri Butusov.
Theater
In 2004, Kristina Kuzmina graduated from the St. Petersburg State Academy of Theater Arts and was accepted into the troupe of the Lensoveta Theater. She successfully played in the plays: “The Eldest Son”, “Cabaret”, “Woyzeck”, “Wait and See”, “King. Lady. Jack”, “Bullfinches”, “Simplicity is enough for every wise man”, “Day and Night”, etc.
In 2008, the actress left the theater. Lensoveta and entered the service at the V.F. Theater. Komissarzhevskaya.

At Vasilisa, everyone was very surprised that we were really very similar: we were both tall, fair, and even our moles were similar. So they are quite sisters. In 2014, the multi-part melodrama “Alien Life” was released. “This is a modern story about the inhabitants of a small town, where the main character returns after an unsuccessful career in Moscow. I am a saleswoman in a village store. I’m trying to find a non-standard approach to the role: to explain why such an ambitious girl stayed to live in the village. However, talking with people from the outback, I realized that many of them today are not eager to go to the capital,” explains Kuzmina.

"Guest from the Past"
Kristina Kuzmina played one of the main roles in Vyacheslav Lavrov’s melodrama “Guest from the Past.”
Plot: Andrey (Sergey Gubanov) and Tatyana (Tatyana Abramenko) have been married for several years. They are happy and really want children, but Tatyana just can’t get pregnant, and the couple doesn’t want to involve a surrogate mother or adopt a child.
Unexpectedly, a certain Olga (Kristina Kuzmina) comes to Andrei’s work. She presents him with a boy - Nikita - and claims that he is his son.
Andrei decides to do a DNA test and, while waiting for the results, settles Olga and Nikita at his dacha. Afraid of upsetting his wife, he decides not to tell Tatyana anything.
Meanwhile, Tanya notices that her husband has begun going to the dacha too often. She suspects that Andrei has a mistress, so she goes there herself...

The actress was married to director Dmitry Meskhiev. They met while auditioning for his series “The Princess and the Pauper.” Christina recalls: “He seemed so beautiful and incredible to me. But Meskhiev didn’t take me, and that’s where it all ended. And a year and a half later he called and offered to meet, and came up with some kind of business topic. That's how we met..."

Divorce

“I can say that I am a fanatic. This is the specificity of our profession. If you are not a fanatic, this profession is not for you. It is simply impossible to do otherwise. Once I left the institute because it seemed to me that I was doing something wrong. But later I came to the conclusion that I don’t want to do anything else.
When I first entered, I was young and imagined everything in a more festive, colorful way, but it turned out that the everyday life of student actors is very hard work, with almost no days off, when you fanatically focus only on your craft, losing all your old friends... Not everyone is ready to make such sacrifices. Many people leave the institute after a year or two, maybe they’re doing the right thing, but those who remain are already cut off. When I was admitted for the second time, everything was more conscious, it wasn’t like when I was carried away like the wind...”
“Despite the fact that I chose this profession and would never exchange it for another, there are a lot of pitfalls here. I see what happens to actors’ destinies and lives under unfortunate circumstances, and I get scared.”

“They probably differ in their way of existing. Filming is like putting together a puzzle. On the first day of shooting, the final scene may be filmed. How?! “I can forgive physical betrayal. But I cannot survive spiritual betrayal. I don't believe in male monogamy. Women are more likely to be faithful. Cheating is hormones, it has always been and always will be. Exceptions are rare."

“I have been writing poetry for a long time, but at the same time I do not at all consider myself a poet or any kind of professional in the field of poetry. When I write, it only means that some powerful experiences are happening inside me, which break out, turning into poetic lines. I'm not a graphomaniac at all. And I may not write anything for many months if I don’t feel a spiritual need for it.”
About the modeling career:
“With a modeling career, everything is very simple. The fact is that this is an absolutely dependent profession in which there is no self-expression and creativity. As a rule, models are faceless creatures who show us beautiful clothes created by fashion designers (history knows not many models who truly became “style icons” or entered the history of fashion). Having worked as a model (it was 1996), I realized that a person in this profession is just a doll that is dressed up, painted and told what needs to be done, what task the fashion designer needs to (exactly!) complete... Probably, it would be possible to achieve what “success in this area, but I didn’t see any development for myself, I became bored.”
About sport:
“I go to the gym and do pole exercises. I did this once for a performance - I was rehearsing a dance and got very excited. A new self-confidence appeared. You’re not a gymnast or an acrobat, but here after thirty you can easily do somersaults. With the help of the pole, I realized that all failures are in our heads. If something doesn’t work out, you just need to do-do-do! And you will achieve results."

Trouble
After a short romance, they got married and decided to have children. Professional activity
After graduating from theater in 2004, at the invitation of her university curator Pazi, the girl came to work in the troupe of the Lenkom Theater , where her master was its artistic director from 1999 to 2006. It was there that the young actress realized that acting was her future. In 2006, the actress’s mentor, Vladimir Pazi, suddenly passed away, and the actress could not get used to another main director. After serving for four years in the theater, in 2008 Christina moved to work at the Komissarzhevskaya Drama Theater, where she works to this day.
