The future actor was born in Chisinau in April 1984 in the family of a teacher (mother) and a colonel of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (father). It was in the capital of Moldova that little Andryusha spent his happy childhood years. True, then he didn’t even think that after just a couple of decades he would be known not only in his homeland, but also in Russia, Ukraine and other neighboring countries.
And yet, dreams of acting appeared in childhood. While still a schoolboy, Andrei became interested in theater and played in KVN. In Chisinau, the guy begins performing on the theater stage and even participates in several semi-amateur productions. But even during this period, he still does not suspect what kind of fame awaits him ahead.
Meanwhile, everything in the boy’s future fate seemed to have been planned from the moment of his birth. Since the father was a military man, the son had to continue the dynasty. Dad raised Andryusha as a future officer. According to Gaidulyan Sr., honorable service in the army should become an important tradition for all boys in their family. At first, Andrei did not resist and spent quite a long time preparing for a military career. He came to military units and devoted a lot of time to physical training.
Childhood
Andrei Gaidulyan was born in 1984, on April 12, in the capital of Moldova - the city of Chisinau. The boy's father was a military man and tried to raise his son to be a real military officer. However, Andrei did not at all want to continue the family dynasty and follow in his father’s footsteps. The boy did poorly at school, doing only what he liked: attending a theater studio, participating in school KVN. Those around him admired Andrei’s abilities and said that he was destined to become an actor. Gaidulyan believed in his own exclusivity and after school he went to Moscow to study as an artist. The parents were not happy with this decision, but did not interfere. They believed that the guy would quickly come to his senses in an unfamiliar city and, in the end, return home. Andrey’s father and mother opened a small clothing business and hoped that their son would continue their family business.
Dreams and hopes
But one fine day, the future actor Andrei Gaidulyan, whose biography at that moment changed dramatically, realized that all this was not his. And his physical characteristics do not correspond to the parameters of real military men.
The guy collects his thoughts and calls his father for a serious conversation. He says that he wants to move to Moscow and try his hand at acting. Of course, the father did not like this idea and for some time he refused to understand his son. But then I decided to agree with my son. Although for a completely different reason than Andrei’s: his father thought that a trip to the Russian capital would bring the young man to his senses and force him to treat the military profession with respect and responsibility. The head of the family was sure that his son could not stand it in the new city and would return home to Chisinau. But time has shown that it was the son who was right.
Moving
Arriving in Moscow, Andrei Gaidulyan (from now on his biography turns into the biography of a famous actor) decided to enroll in “Pike” and RATI. But he was unlucky. Later, he recalled that he was a rather arrogant and self-confident guy who tried to move forward, not noticing anyone or anything on the way; he had the confidence of expectation of himself as a gift from above for teachers. Therefore, the first refusals were like a disdainful slap on the nose for him.
But having gathered his strength, Andrey comes with documents to the Institute of Contemporary Art. And this time he is lucky - he becomes a first-year student.
This is how his new life begins - studies, a very modest financial situation, absenteeism, gatherings with friends until the morning. It was during these years that the young man managed to acquire a lot of useful knowledge, which a little later helped him easily get used to the role of Sasha Sergeev from the TV series “Univer”. But that was still a long way off...
First steps towards a dream
After receiving an institute diploma, Andrei Gaidulyan, whose biography is now beginning to line up like the biographies of movie stars, begins working at the Glas Theater. But at the same time, the aspiring actor is looking for a job in cinema. He really wants to distinguish himself both on the theater stage and on the film set. In addition, Andrei wants to prove to his father that he still makes a good actor.
He is beginning to succeed in some things, however, in the first films Gaidulyan only had small roles in episodes. But he was happy about it too - after all, it was an invaluable experience.
Two steps to Univer
At the very beginning of his creative career, Andrei worked in the TV series “Kulagin and Partners”; he had a modest role in one of the episodes of the famous television series “Detectives”. A little later, his still small filmography was diluted with the films “Law and Order” (the second part) and “Mercy”. Although this cannot be called a serious success, Andrei began to consider himself a real actor.
And he considers 2008 very lucky for himself. Because by chance he went to the casting of a new comedy project on the TNT channel, Andrei learned that he had been approved for one of the main roles in the television film. This was the Russian series “Univer”, familiar to many, which viewers now enjoy watching.
The series became popular very quickly. Success also came to the young actor. Now he has become a star on the Olympus of Russian television. He is known to millions, he is often invited to entertainment programs as a guest.
As for new creative successes, Gaidulyan is in complete order here too. In 2011, when filming of the series ended, he was approved for roles in the films “Full Contact” and “Manticore.” Around the same time they came out on screens. It must be said that they were not particularly successful, but the young actor still gained some experience in filming.
Actors of the sitcom “SASHATANYA”: “In real life we wouldn’t get along together”
Next year, TV viewers can expect several series premieres at once. On January 12, the second season of the sitcom “SASHATANYA” starts on the TNT channel. The heroes of the popular “Univer” Sasha and Tanya Sergeev were so loved by fans of the series that a separate story was filmed about these heroes. The married couple is played by Andrei Gaidulyan and Valentina Rubtsova. In the new season of the sitcom, they face problems familiar to every family. The Sergeevs' son is growing up, Tanya decides to get a job. In addition, they decided to “sell themselves into slavery” - take out a mortgage for 15 years.
On the eve of the premiere, Valentina and Andrei told Voronezh journalists how they managed to establish relationships with their movie child and why they do not take out loans. Outside of filming, Valentina and Andrei joke with each other just like their characters. And when asked if they could get along together in life, the actors laugh out loud. Valentina said that at most Andrey would become like a friend to her. The artists themselves already have their own families.
Valentina Rubtsova, by the way, is well acquainted with Voronezh. In 2009, she played one of the main roles in the film about the women's football team "Men's Women's Game", which was filmed in our city.
“During the filming, I became very friendly with the leading actress of the Voronezh Youth Theater Anya Grebenshchikova, we still communicate well and correspond,” said Valentina. — I have very warm memories from Voronezh. I would love to come and relax with you.
— Did you quickly learn to get along with your serial son Alyosha?
“Artemka (the little artist’s name is Artemy Shirokov. - “Yo!”) has grown into a real actor,” says Andrey. “He is already three years old, and you can agree with him that, for example, in exchange for a chocolate he will recite a poem or remain silent. And he got into the series because he was the only one of all the children who behaved calmly and did not cry.
— Valentina, your daughter Sophia is the same age as Artyom, isn’t she jealous of you when she sees you on screen with someone else’s child?
- We don’t turn on the TV. That's what we decided when our daughter was born. So she doesn’t even know where mom goes to work.
— After Sophia was born, you quickly got into shape. How did you do it?
“I quickly lost twenty kilograms because I was breastfeeding my daughter and going on a diet. It seems that apart from buckwheat, I couldn’t eat anything in particular. And then, when Sonya was six months old, filming of the first season of “SASHATAN” began. And then it started - now I’ll grab a cake here, now a croissant here. And then all this gradually began to be reflected on the screen. My colleagues are already hinting to me: “Valentina, maybe you can slow down a little with the croissants?” — Andrey, you are also a famous sweet tooth. We spent part of our first fee from Univer on cakes.
- Oh yes, this is my scourge. Sometimes I switch to some fruits. But I still can’t live without sweets.
— What do you spend the royalties from the series “SASHATANYA” on?
— Financially, I have become more pragmatic. Only now have I learned to save, and the first royalties, of course, were drunk. And now I am very responsible with money.
— In the series, you and your wife took out a mortgage. Have you ever had to take out loans in your life?
- No, I don’t like being a debtor. I think less is better - gradually saving up for something. I'm not a fan of taking more than you have. Fortunately, I managed to save up for an apartment.
— In Russia, according to statistics, there are a lot of divorces. As actors playing a married couple, can you give advice on how to save a marriage?
“I recently met with my friend, actor Alexander Rapoport,” Andrey began from afar. — He became an actor at the age of 59, and in general he is a psychotherapist by training. So, he said a wise phrase: “I’m not against hasty marriages, I’m against hasty divorces.” My close friends were getting divorced. But they didn't. My husband went on a business trip, somehow everything calmed down, and they changed their minds. There is no universal advice, but the main thing is not to make hasty decisions. My family life is very emotional. It helps me that my other half has found something to do - she entered the acting department. She had a lot of work and little time. And now she understands me very much when I come home and I just want to do nothing.
Spin-off
Andrei Gaidulyan (his biography is often studied by fans) was not upset by some failures and turned out to be right: a new breakthrough in his career was just around the corner. A new surge in his popularity began when the sitcom “SashaTanya” was released.
It can be called some kind of continuation (or spin-off) of the series “Univer”. Here Andrei again turned into Sasha Sergeev and again dizzying success was guaranteed to him. This time there was no more university romance. All attention was focused on the life of the young and poor, but quite proud family of Sasha and his classmate Tatyana, who, as in both “Univers,” was played by Valentina Rubtsova.
One of his last successful acting works is the film “Friends of Friends.”
The artist does not stop appearing on the theater stage, participating in the “Chic Wedding” enterprise.

Terrible disease
Three years ago, the actor had to consult oncologists due to problems with speech and breathing. The initial diagnosis was made - Hodgkin's lymphoma in the second stage.
A month later, Andrei went to a clinic in Germany to undergo chemotherapy. Already in September 2015, social networks reported that he was feeling much better. In December, the actor underwent a second course of treatment, and in February of the following year he was able to announce complete victory over the disease.
All this time he was supported by his future wife, Diana. The treatment was so successful that in the spring of 2016 Andrei was able to begin work on the third season of the sitcom “SashaTanya”.
