This year Kirill Pletnev will celebrate his 40th birthday. He has 3 sons, but he is still single, and in his personal life everything needs to start over. But in the creative field, it amazes with hundreds of acting works in cinema and theater, directorial and production projects. He “marked his mark” by acting in melodramas and action films, detective stories and comedies, as well as by dubbing, editing, and writing scripts...

What is this “star” story?

Biography

Childhood

Kirill was born in Kharkov, Ukraine, as a pre-New Year surprise - on December 30th. Mother is a choreographer, father is an engineer.

His entire future life is also full of surprises, pleasant and not so pleasant.

Perhaps one of the first was the family’s move to St. Petersburg in early childhood. Of course, no one knew then that this city would make him an actor, but everything was already in the book of Fates. As well as the fact that the father-inventor will change radically by going into business. And he will start a new life, leaving behind his old wife and children...

From the age of 13, Kirill lived only with his brother, Mikhail, and his mother, Tamara Fedorovna - she, an esthete by nature and profession, was afraid that without their father’s influence the boys would be “sucked” into the street, and they attended every imaginable circle and section.

Kirill was involved in mountaineering, swimming, taekwondo, and his unloved football, but... genes are genes: his creative nature made itself felt. In addition to dancing, which my mother taught, he was interested in literature. And not only fantasy, which is not surprising in my youth, but also poetry. So much so that he tried to write poetry himself. But his personality development was versatile: he also took part in all the school and yard fights.

In the 9th grade, Kirill convinced his mother to change her focus from football to theater. To expand life horizons, so to speak. Very timely, together with the school, the family changed the district of the city, and the growing teenager left bad acquaintances and habits in the past.

Where did you study

Pletnev did not choose his school specialization (theater criticism) as a profession; it helped him decide on his further choice - he decides to be a director in order to be able to “express himself.”

After graduating from school at the age of 16, in 1996 he applied to the directing department of the theater academy.

And again, life’s surprise, as it turned out, was significant: he was not hired as a director. The wise members of the selection committee did not see a creative leader in the young applicant, but saw something that he himself had not yet guessed about, and suggested another faculty. So, unexpectedly for himself, Pletnev began to study acting.

And participation in educational performances (“Liperiad”, “It’s not all Maslenitsa”, “The Case of Cornet Elagin”, “The Case of Cornet Orlov”, “Escorial”) gave him the understanding that acting is not the worst, but perhaps the best way self-expression.

After graduating from the academy in 2000, Kirill was looking for an “actor’s” home and, together with his friends, left to conquer Moscow. So for 3 seasons he ended up at the Moscow Drama Theater of Armen Dzhigarkhanyan.

Training and work in the theater

In 1996, he entered the St. Petersburg Academy of Theater Arts on the course of Vladimir Petrov. In his third year at the directing department, he took part in the production and learned from it conclusions that could be realized in acting.

After graduating from the academy, Kirill moved to live in Moscow. In 2012, Kirill continued his education at VGIK, he entered the evening department of the faculty of directing. After graduating from the academy, he played on the stages of various theaters in St. Petersburg, but when he found himself in the capital, he began to collaborate with the Armen Dzhigarkhanyan Drama Theater.

He played in the troupe for the next 3 years. He could be seen in the image of Bobchinsky-Dobchinsky in “The Government Inspector”, Thomas - “Close your eyes - I’ll tell you fairy tales.” Figaro - "Crazy Day, or The Marriage of Figaro."

Way to success

Already in 2000, Pletnev made his debut as a film actor, which he did not plan at all. By chance, he ended up in an episode of the series “Deadly Force.” As it turned out, these were the doors not only to the bank (Kirill played a security guard), but also to the cinema.

2002 brought the actor two film roles at once. He starred in the series “Taiga. Survival Course" and managed to work with Bodrov Jr. in the melodrama "Bear Kiss".

And already in 2004 he appeared on screens in seven projects at once. The last two, “Penal Battalion” and “Saboteur”, bring him enormous popularity and real success: Pletnev’s name is already on a par with other “stars”.

Career in film and theater

From that time on, the actor's career began to develop rapidly.

In 2003, he left Dzhigarkhanyan and began looking for another theater, a psychological one, with the opportunity to choose roles.

At this time, their collaboration with Irina Keruchenko began, who made an almost ideal theater in his understanding. Their joint work in the play “Phantom Pains” brought the prize of the New Drama festival in 2005.

At the same time, Ibsen’s play “Hedda Gabler” with his participation in Keruchenko’s production became a laureate of the “Norwegian Play on the Moscow Stage” forum. The 2007 performance “I am a machine gunner” is their joint work, which brought Pletnev 2 prizes.

In the cinema, after successful roles “in uniform,” there were offers for character roles, if not of security forces, then of investigators. Negative-positive heroes of the films “Explosion at Dawn”, “Under a Shower of Bullets”, and the TV series “Soldiers” and “Saboteur-2” were born.

In 2008, his role took a small but sharp turn: Pletnev played not only a comedic character, but also a woman in the film “Love-Carrot-2”. But then he “fights” again: 2008 - midshipman in the film “Admiral”, 2009 - soldier in the film “Pop”.

Due to the demand for cinema, the theater fades into the background: he becomes a guest actor. The year 2011 was marked by a classic in his theatrical career - he was invited to the Moscow Art Theater to play the role of Raskolnikov in Dostoevsky’s Crime and Punishment.

According to Kirill himself, when he saw Lydia, he immediately realized that she would become his wife. And so it happened, and soon the chosen ones formalized their marriage. The wedding celebration took place in 2010. Literally a year later the couple had a child - son Fedor.

The actor’s heirs are Fedor and Georgy

As the actor himself admits, his relationship with Lydia began to develop in 2007. That same year he became a father for the first time. A boy was born, whom the newly-made parents named George. However, at that time they were in no hurry to formalize the relationship and tried to hide the fact of the birth of a child from the public.

Second education

In 2012, already a mature man, Kirill entered the evening department of the VGIK directing department.

He is not yet a director (although there have been amateur works), but his debut professional short film “6:23” has already received awards at several festivals.

His diploma work - the short film “Nastya” - won 2 main prizes in 2020: the jury of the 34th International Student Festival of VGIK and “Kinotavr. Short film."

The bonuses received went towards the filming of the film “Mom”, which was awarded the Golden Eagle in 2020. In the same year, Kirill, using his own script, shot his first full-length film, “Burn.” The film made the leading lady, Inga Oboldina, a star.

The director and actor coexist fruitfully in Pletnev. He plays all sorts of roles. A reporter in Metro, a lieutenant in Fort Ross: In Search of Adventure, a prince in Viking - Kirill is convincing in all images and genres. His name in film announcements becomes a good advertisement before the release: viewers go “to Pletnev.”

Personal life

Kirill Pletnev tried to be a husband twice, and both times failed. children grow up with their mothers, and his closest people are still his mother and brother. His father, whom he met in adulthood, remained a stranger.

A handsome and charismatic man, a talented actor (which means a subtle psychologist!), is simply bound to please women. Therefore, the abundance of love affairs in his life is understandable. By the way, his school experience was good: there were 20 girls and 7 boys in the “theater” class, and he already had fans then.

During his student years, a passionate romance with Ksenia Katalymova almost ended in a wedding, and the reason why the actor broke up with her is unknown even at the level of rumors.

Then they talked about his love affairs with Tatyana Arntgolts and Alisa Grebenshchikova. On the set, he also met the attractively free Marina Konyashkina...

Kirill’s first serious relationship, which ended in marriage, was with his acting colleague Lydia Milyuzina. According to a beautiful version, they found each other in 2010 on the set of a film called “Looking for You.” And in the same year the actor got married.

According to another version, Kirill and Lydia knew each other for a long time and fruitfully: in 2007, their son Georgy was already born. On the set of 2010, the relationship simply took on a “wedding” development. The couple lived in an official marriage from 2010 to 2012, having managed to give birth to another son, Fedor. The second version is quite plausible, because the children are very similar, but... there is a third one. They say that Georgy's mother is the sister of Pletnev's friend, Anna Golikova.

Kirill usually does not comment on the reasons for ending his relationship with the fair sex, but society willingly makes up for the lack of information with rumors. They say that marriage to Milyuzina killed a new romance on the set: while working on the series “Mom Detective,” 33-year-old Pletnev became interested in 43-year-old Inga Oboldina...

But the actor chose his next “life friend” who was ten years younger. In 2014, in Mikhalkov’s project, an actor’s landing in the Far East, Kirill met with an actress of model appearance, Nino Ninidze.

The relationship developed rapidly, the difference in height did not bother anyone, and they returned as a “civilian” couple. In 2020, Pletnev’s third son, Sandro (Alexander), is born. The couple was stable and promising even in the opinion of the actors themselves, and they got married in 2018. And in 2020 they are already divorced.

Nino commented on this in an interview: “We were together for three and a half years, and it was a happy time... But we have reached this moment when everyone must go their own way. We ask everyone to respect our decision and not engage in litigation.”

Breaking up a relationship is always painful for everyone, no matter who initiated it. Therefore, let’s not “rub salt into the wounds,” but simply say that, judging by Nino’s other comments, this time it’s not about love affairs on the side and not about Kirill at all. He suffered a difficult divorce, which provoked a crisis and panic attacks, to which the actor has been prone since his youth.

Personal life of Kirill Pletnev

The personal life of Kirill Pletnev began to be built while still studying at a general education institution. In the class in which the future artist studied, there were much more girls than boys. Of course, such an imbalance led to increased interest among guys in the opposite sex.

While studying at SPbGATI, Ksenia Katalymova appeared in Kirill’s personal life. The lovers were quite close to officially registering the relationship, but as a result, the girl never became the artist’s wife. The reasons for their separation are unknown to the public.

Fame came to Pletnev very early, so already at the very beginning of his career, representatives of the media made him the lovers of such actresses as Tatyana Arntgolts and Alisa Grebenshchikova. Such speculations were never confirmed - Kirill does not have a stamp in his passport with either one or the other artist. At the same time, Pletnev had a lot of serious relationships on the set.

What is he doing now?

But Kirill Pletnev approaches his problems - in particular, nervous disorders - in general, philosophically.

According to his theory, which he publicly voiced, the more frayed a person’s nerves are, the higher his creative potential. Supporting his case with examples from Van Gogh to Hemingway, he is quite convincing. Therefore, he does not make a problem out of his ailments, but continues to work. And he focuses on the “pros” that all “cons” have: “...after every crisis you come out refreshed.”

In 2020, he starred in the films “The THREAT: Trepalov and the Wallet”, “Moscow Romance”, “Enemy Lines”. He already has the opportunity to refuse weak or uninteresting roles and dreams of a complete transformation in one of them.

Recently his comedy “Seven Dinners” with the participation of Polina Maksimova was released, and she also plays in the already finished film “Ideal”.

The director and producer’s plans for 2020 include an adventure film “My Dad is the Leader” with Nagiyev. He has also conceived a historical film about the war, “Sevastopol 1942,” and is looking for money for a new film about the complex relationship between father and son.

Interesting Facts

Pletnev is a loving, albeit “Sunday” father who gathers all his sons together. He maintains friendly relations with his ex-wives and helps raise his children financially, although he himself lives in a tiny one-room apartment. But the plans include a large house or apartment.

The actor tries himself in new projects. Being a good dancer, in 2009 he participated in the 4th season of “Dancing with the Stars”. With partner Daria Reznikova, they took 6th place. By the way, in his youth he worked part-time at the Metro night dance club.

Kirill left the Dzhigarkhanyan Theater not of his own free will. He was simply kicked out when he sabotaged another uninteresting role. Actually, this was for the good: the actor stopped wasting time unproductively.

Having played the main role in the frankly weak film “The French Fellow Traveler,” I really hoped that the film would not be released.

Kirill Pletnev has a busy life. Even if there are sorrows along with joys, he tries to live correctly and fully, and to create brightly, talentedly and diversely.
