Actress Maria Ivanova: biography, career, films

It’s not for nothing that Maria Vasilyeva is called one of the most beautiful presenters of Channel One. And her beauty is not aggressive, striking in the eyes, but calm and peaceful. Her type is a “Turgenev” girl, whose outward calm and modesty hides a huge mind and great ambitions. How long was Maria Vasilyeva’s path from Kirov to the top presenter of the main Russian channel? What does she do in her rare free time from work? Does she have a companion in matters of the heart, what are Maria’s hobbies in life?

Childhood and youth in Kirov

Marusya’s parents (that’s her nickname on Instagram) still live in Kirov, they are actors of the Kirov Theater on Spasskaya - Elena Vasilyeva and Alexander Korolevsky. The future presenter of the First was born on November 7, 1985. Previously, those whose birthday fell on this date (or coincided with the birthday of Lenin’s grandfather) were terribly envied by classmates and friends, but for Masha November 7th became an ordinary day, notable only for its next anniversary. She says about her grandparents: “On the one hand, it was a union of an artist and a teacher at a school for deaf and dumb children, on my father’s side, the parents were “Shuksha” heroes who lived for many years in the wonderful countryside.”

Alexander Korolevsky and Elena Vasilyeva undoubtedly influenced their daughter’s future: from an early age the girl spent a lot of time behind the scenes. When she was very young, she even appeared on television when her parents were invited to local TV for filming. A child was needed for the video, and Masha was urgently brought in. “Studio scenery with a luxurious car, and I was wearing a red beret and a cape of the same color,” Maria’s memories of this moment.

Formal words: “she showed the qualities of a leader early” - just about Masha Vasilyeva. She recalls with pleasure and laughter an episode from her childhood when she showed these very qualities. “In the theater, on the occasion of the holiday, a rich table was laid with refreshments for the artists. And this information reached us, the children of actors. I gathered everyone, and we, like partisans, moved to the director’s office, where there was a table,” - the beginning of the story, retold by Maria. The goal of the “celebratory table” action was sandwiches with caviar: everyone licked the caviar off the bread and rushed in all directions. The instigator was caught, she was asked the question: “Did you eat caviar?”, to which the leader of the raid on the director’s office confidently answered: “What caviar? Of course not". But when they asked the second question, was it delicious, she couldn’t restrain herself and burst into a smile: “Very!”

But the girl did not dream of an acting profession, as most often happens with the children of artists. Her dream was... to become a manicurist. Moreover, as she admits, it was not the profession itself that she liked, but the beautiful, sonorous word. “This career was definitely not destined for me; my mother and father would never have allowed me to work as a manicurist!” - her words. Television with beautiful female announcers attracted Maria, but she understood that it was incredibly difficult to get there, and even to the capital. Masha chooses a different path, the masters of the pen, and goes to enter the Moscow Institute of Journalism and Literary Creativity.

Life of Maria Vasilyeva before channel 1

Having entered the capital’s university without difficulty, she studied there with pleasure, but the idea of breaking into television already appeared. “I approached this issue seriously and systematically, because I understood: no one will take dullness and mediocrity there. First, you need to graduate from college and prove yourself,” another fragment from Masha’s memories. She began writing stories, and to this day, she says, she carefully treasures several dozen of them. “Some had nothing to do with the profession, with education, but the work that I put into them later came in handy,” is how she speaks of her literary activity.

TV presenter in her youth and now

She studied in Moscow, but to learn the basics of the profession (she already wanted to become a presenter) she had to go to her homeland, to Kirov. She worked at Kirov Television for a year and a half, and, according to her, “almost immediately got used to it and got involved.” An ordinary correspondent, then she was entrusted with local news, after a while she “grew up” to the author’s program. For a year and a half, Maria slowly but surely moved up the career ladder on her native TV. And suddenly - a call from Moscow!

The man introduced himself as an employee of the personnel department of Channel One, he voiced an offer to go to work in the capital. “I was sure that I was being played. But when he called again a few days later, I realized that the offer was real, I had great luck,” Maria’s words. This happened in 2011, but the career of the presenter of the First was still in the project. First, an internship, which Vasilyeva passed with flying colors. This was followed by an appointment to the Southern Department of Channel One, in Rostov-on-Don. After that, he worked at the Volga Bureau in Samara. This took almost three years, and only after the management of the first was convinced of the girl’s high professionalism, she was transferred to Moscow.

The name that reached Victory

The commander of the 26th Guards Tank Brigade, Stepan Nesterov, signed an award sheet that said: “During the period of combat operations and during the formation of the brigade, Comrade. Oktyabrskaya lovingly cared for the combat vehicle. Her tank had no forced stops or breakdowns. Comrade Oktyabrskaya, using the tank she purchased for cash, took revenge on the Nazis for the death of her husband. Comrade Oktyabrskaya is a brave, fearless warrior.” Colonel Nesterov signed this presentation for the Order of the Patriotic War, 1st degree, when Maria was still alive.

On August 2, 1944, by a Decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR, Guard Sergeant Maria Vasilyevna Oktyabrskaya was awarded the title of Hero of the Soviet Union (posthumously) for the courage and heroism shown in battles.

Brigade commander Nesterov repeated the fate of his subordinate. On October 20, 1944, he died on the outskirts of the city of Stallupönen in East Prussia. By decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of April 19, 1945, for the courage and heroism shown in the fight against the Nazi invaders, Guard Colonel Stepan Kuzmich Nesterov was posthumously awarded the title of Hero of the Soviet Union.

The tank purchased by Maria Oktyabrskaya was destroyed by the Germans in one of the battles. And then the young tankers, in memory of their deceased “mother,” wrote “Battle Friend” on one of the new vehicles. This tank was decommissioned after the battles for Minsk, but the tankers called another one that replaced it “Battle Friend”. The third car died near the Prussian city of Gumbinen. The fourth tank, named “Battle Friend,” reached Konigsberg, where it ended the war.

Streets in Dzhankoy and Smolensk are named after Maria Oktyabrskaya. And at the place where she took her last battle, a monument was erected on which it is written: “Here in January 1944, the glorious Soviet patriot Hero of the Soviet Union, tanker Maria Vasilievna Oktyabrskaya fearlessly crushed the enemy on the “Battle Friend” tank and died a brave death in battles with German fascist invaders."

Work on the First

Masha Vasilyeva’s first studio broadcast throughout the country took place in 2013, from September 15 to 16, and not just one, but several at once. A full day of work, and during that day you have to appear on screen ten times. Was it difficult for her, because she had experience as a presenter? "Terrible!" – Maria answers this question: “Before that, I worked in recording, but here it’s a live broadcast. Much more difficult. It’s one thing when bad moments in a recording can be corrected or changed. And on the air - the prompter is waiting, the director is “hanging” in his ear, teams are flying from all sides.”

Maria’s parents “didn’t ooh and ahh when they saw their daughter on the country’s main channel. It was as if they knew that I would get there,” Vasilyeva recalled about the impression the leap in her career made on her family. She is very grateful to them for their words of encouragement and also for their correct criticism:

“They know how to spot small issues and bring them to my attention.” This helps and encourages her in her work, according to her.

The girl now honestly admits: for the first six months, fear and panic did not leave her. “My hands were shaking, my voice was trembling, I tried to take my will into a fist and hoped that if the viewer noticed, they would forgive,” - this is how she recalls the beginning of work on the First. In the first year, she says, anxiety made it difficult to concentrate fully, but now everything is under control. Not everyone can objectively talk about their shortcomings, but Maria is critical of herself and honestly admits that the first year was not all smooth sailing. “But now coming to the studio feels like home. Complete calm, absolute connection with the director, instant changes in the release if necessary - I can handle everything,” the presenter says confidently.

Maria’s work consisted of seven days in a row, then a week of rest, and a replacement went on air for seven days. She came at 18:00, stylists worked with her, then there was an office where she read the news and rules. “Hour X” (that’s what Vasilyeva calls the moment she appears on the screen), then again the office and texts, and so on ten times in a row, until late at night.

In 2016, the girl was sent to record the story “Stand up in Volsk”: the filming was about the training of military women. Maria decided to stage the report in a special way - she and the female servicemen lay down in a ditch, a tank drove through the ditch, and the whole thing was filmed. The “tank run-in” went well, but how much nerves this moment cost her - she will later tell with a laugh. “They told me: don’t put your hands here, and everything will be fine. After this wish, it became a hundred times worse! My hands are shaking, my heart is pounding, but my tongue, oddly enough, is not slurred. Recorded it on the first take.” This plot with an unexpected twist further raised the ratings of the presenter, who was already quite popular among viewers.

Maria, according to her, quickly got used to the evening routine and the intense rhythm. In addition to prestigious work and popularity, she says, she has gained invaluable life experience: “I voiced and saw many stories, joyful and tragic. I met interesting and amazing people, and that means a lot more to me than popularity.”

The presenter worked in the nightly news for four long years, and finally in December 2017 she received a promotion - she was transferred to the morning news. The “week of broadcast - week of rest” mode remained unchanged, but now, in order to appear on the screen in the first episode at five in the morning, she must be in Ostankino at three in the morning! Now her working day is more difficult, more intense, Vasilyeva admitted, but there is a plus - she works not until late at night, but until 9 in the morning. “It was very difficult to force myself to go to bed at 19-00 in order to wake up on time,” Maria shared.

In addition to her main work, Maria Vasilyeva appears in other programs on Channel One. For example, in 2018 she took part in the qualifying round of the Russian Ninja project. Two Kirov residents starred in the program at once - she and fitness trainer Denis Gafiullin. Alas, good performance during the filming of the promotional video (before the first round) did not affect the unpleasant elimination at the very start. Maria fell off the apparatus at the very beginning, it was very disappointing. “Professional athletes come there, and my preparation, that is, was not enough,” she said honestly later. More words from Maria about “Russian Ninja”: “I suspected that I wouldn’t make it to the end, but I went there for new experiences and to prove that nothing is impossible.”

Masha is not invited to scandalous shows: the “Turgenev girl” is not attracted to a bitchy person who will provide intrigue in the program. But quiet projects, the goal of which is to tell the audience something useful or pleasant, constantly invite Vasilyeva to their place. It’s incredibly difficult for her to agree; a week of constant work doesn’t allow her to spare a minute, and on her free days she needs rest. But sometimes she pleases fans with her appearance in a popular program, for example - in the same 2018, she appeared in “Test Purchase” with the plot “Star Refrigerator”. The presenter was allowed to look into Masha’s refrigerator, she talked about nutrition and her taste preferences.

Officer's Wife

Masha Garagulya was born in 1905 in Crimea, into a large family of Ukrainian peasants. She spent her childhood in Sevastopol and Dzhankoy, and graduated from school in Simferopol. After graduation, she went to work at a cannery, then mastered the specialty of a telephone operator.

In Simferopol, Maria met a cavalry school cadet Ilya Ryadnenko , and in 1925 the romance ended with a wedding. The newlyweds decided that their new family should receive a new surname. So the couple became Oktyabrsky.

After Ilya graduated from college, Maria became the classic wife of an officer. Moving from place to place, not the most settled life - none of this frightened her, she was happy next to her loved one. In the military garrisons, Maria did not waste time, mastered the craft of driving, took medical courses, and learned to shoot a machine gun.

At the same time, she remained feminine, among the wives of the command staff she was famous for the most refined taste in clothes, and perfect order always reigned in the Oktyabrsky apartment. And Maria Oktyabrskaya was known as a great master of needlework.

In 1940, the 134th howitzer artillery regiment, in which Ilya Oktyabrsky served, was transferred to Chisinau. Maria, as usual, followed her husband. They met in Chisinau on June 22, 1941.

Another close person whom Maria loves with all her heart is her younger sister Nastya. Anastasia adores her older famous sister and proudly shares videos featuring Maria on her social networks and YouTube. When Masha is asked if Nastya also wants to become a presenter, she replies: “My sister is very talented, she studies music, plays the piano superbly. But no one knows what ideas she has about the future: her thoughts change every day, like leaves on a calendar. But her profession will definitely be creative - it’s in the Vasilyev children’s genes.”

Regarding her personal life in terms of family, it is known that Maria Vasilyeva does not have a husband at the moment. She does not answer direct questions about the name of her companion, which she certainly has - how can such a smart and beautiful woman be alone? When asked if her heart is busy, she says: “Yes, I’m happy because I’m in love.” One day, in a conversation with her, information flashed that they work in the same field, that is, they should look for the lucky one on television. About the future, Maria shared that “there are plans to get married and make my husband happy with children.”

Actress Maria Bolonkina

The girl made her film debut while still a student, playing in the TV series “Churchill.” This was followed by starring roles in the short films “The Theory of Two Mirrors”, “Goodbye Lennon” and “One Day in the Life of Fyodor”. You may have seen Maria in such wide-screen films as “Give Me Sunday,” where she played Vika, “Necklace” (Vika), “Moscow. Three stations" (Marina), "Minus one" (Stasya), "Karpov-2" (Sery's wife). Bolonkina's characters are mostly negative. But the actress still loves them all, because when you get used to the character, you begin to understand and justify the character.

Maria also tries to read books when she has time, but she chooses “not everything that is on sale, but the best.” Of the best, the presenter prefers classics; she adores Moliere and Pushkin. Masha does not spend her free time on social events and nightclubs - except perhaps going to a restaurant with her friends. By the way, about her friends: she maintains close relationships with her classmates despite the fact that she has not lived in Kirov for a long time. If possible, Maria will find time and definitely come to her friend’s birthday or wedding.
