Youth years
At the age of 7, Christopher Lambert went to study at a private boarding school. His relationships with his peers were not going well, and therefore the boy began to have serious problems. He grew up quiet and shy, wearing thick glasses, which caused laughter from his classmates.
Lambert hated studying, he even began to disrupt classes, and with his behavior he got expelled from the boarding school. After this, history repeated itself.
Only in his 11th school did he receive a certificate. His protests were blank test sheets, refusal to complete assignments, and parodies of teachers. At one of the schools he became interested in acting.
His father insisted that Christopher study to become a banker and forget about his acting career. For these purposes, he sent his son to study as a financier in London. Only after 6 months did he return home with a piece of paper where the institution explained the reasons for his expulsion.
Christopher ensured that his father came to terms with his unsuitability for economic professions and entered the acting department at the Paris Conservatory. He began to learn the theory of acting, but he found it very boring. After leaving the conservatory, he did not give up the desire to start an acting career.
Christopher Lambert's nomadic childhood
Christophe Guy Denis Lambert (the name given to Christopher Lambert at baptism) was born in Long Island, New York, USA, on March 29, 1957.
The boy's family was far from poor and famous in political circles. His father, a major French diplomat, headed the UN office for many years and led various peacekeeping missions. The mother is a highly qualified psychoanalyst with a very solid regular clientele. Due to his father’s work, which required a constant change of location, the Lambert family moved to Brussels when Christopher was only two years old, where he spent his childhood, from where he moved to Paris only at the age of 16.
Successful parents knew almost from the birth of their son what they wanted for him. His father tried his best to encourage Christopher to choose the profession of an economist or a broker, but the boy was disheartened by the boring and monotonous columns of numbers. He grew up as a sickly, physically weak child, and poor eyesight made him withdrawn. At school he was very modest, which even worried the staff psychologist, who called the parents along with Christopher for an interview, as a result of which he came to the conclusion that the boy was so quiet because of the strong pressure on him from his father.
The modesty of the future star did not interfere with pranks during school; Christopher was even expelled from a Swiss boarding house, despite his father’s connections as a diplomat. The boy often teased teachers, made his classmates laugh and disrupted lessons. At one of the schools where he studied, Christopher tried himself as a member of a local theater troupe. Transforming himself into fairy-tale characters, he realized that acting was his calling. When his father found out about his son’s plans, he was furious and sent him into the army, after which he got him a job in a financial organization. But his efforts were unsuccessful as he soon received a call informing him that Christopher was not suitable for the job.
The dismissal was beneficial to the aspiring actor, who was soon enrolled at the Paris Conservatory of Dramatic Arts. But the restless boy quickly lost interest in his studies and a year later was expelled for poor attendance, which did not stop him from acting in French films.

Biography:
Christopher Lambert is an American and French film actor who took part in more than 70 films. He was born in New York in 1957, on March 29. The boy was born into the family of a French diplomat at the UN, and his mother worked as a highly paid psychoanalyst, her clients were very influential people.
Successful parents tried to give their son a good education that would ensure a comfortable future; they chose for him the profession of financier or broker. Strong pressure from his father caused psychological trauma in Christopher - at school he was painfully shy, hiding in the restroom during breaks, which was also explained by his severe myopia.
His quiet character did not stop the boy from playing pranks in high school. Christopher was a leader: he often disrupted classes and teased teachers.

At one of the many schools in which Lambert studied, he tried out to play in a theater troupe, and at that moment he realized what he wanted to do in life. His father, in a fit of indignation, sent him to military service, and then got him a job in one of the financial organizations. To his father's disappointment, management deemed Christopher unfit for the job.
The dismissal gave the future actor a free hand, who immediately entered the university, the Faculty of Dramatic Arts.
Christopher got his first unnoticeable roles at the age of 22, but everything changed dramatically after the main role in the film Greystoke: The Legend of Tarzan. After a successful start, Christopher Lambert starred in Luc Besson's Subway, a film that won the actor a Cesar Award.

The status of a world star was brought by the film “Highlander,” which became a cult favorite for an entire generation. In this film, Christopher embodied the image of Duncan MacLeod, a man gifted with immortality.
Another important milestone in the actor’s career was the film “Mortal Kombat,” a film adaptation of the famous game Mortal Kombat. In this work, Lambert perfectly embodied the image of the god Raiden, thanks to which he further increased his rating.
The actor's fame peaked in the 2000s - he starred in a huge number of films, often not particularly understanding the intricacies of the script. The most striking films in his filmography include the following films: “Beowulf”, “Nirvana”, “Vatanen’s Hare” and the film “Lost in Deauville”.

Due to the fact that Lambert has poor vision since his youth, and contact lenses are contraindicated for him due to his too sensitive cornea, and all his heroes do not wear glasses, he has to squint on the set. At first, the actor thought that the directors would simply kick him off the set, but they found a special charm in this, the so-called Lambert look. The actor himself talks about his work as follows: “I work blindly. I focus on the blurry silhouette of the actors on the set, trying to speak in that direction. If I were wearing glasses, everything would distract me, but this way I concentrate.”
In recent years, the actor not only continues to act in films (in 2015, 3 works with his participation were released - “Shades of Truth”, “10 Days in a Madhouse” and “One Plus One”), but also devotes all his free time to writing books – two works were published under his authorship: “The Amulet Girl” and “The Judge”.
Like many actors, Christopher had several marriages: with actress Diane Lane and Jamise Haft. Since 2007, the actor has been in a relationship with Sophie Marceau, but he no longer intends to tie the knot.

Curriculum Vitae
Christopher Lambert, whose filmography, whose biography indicates ups and downs, was born in 1957. A joyful event occurred in New York. The professional activities of his father, who was at that time a UN employee, became the reason that forced the family to move first to Geneva, then to Paris.
The acting profession is a goal that young Christopher has been pursuing since childhood, never missing the opportunity to play in school plays. To his father, the choice of an heir seemed frivolous, so he forced his son to serve in the army, then acquire a diploma in economics.
Despite the obstacles, big cinema remained a dream, the fulfillment of which Christopher Lambert was confidently approaching. The films in which he managed to get roles from the age of 22 were initially not popular and did not bring the desired fame to the actor. This continued until 1984.
Further career
Fortress and its sequel, fantastic action films, made Lambert one of the top 100 action heroes. Then there was “Mortal Kombat” based on the super popular game “Mortal Kombat” - children of the nineties, recalls JoeInfoMedia journalist Diana Lynn, do you remember how famous the game was? The BMI Film Music Awards inspired "Mortal Kombat" for "Beowulf." And there was also “Nirvana” from the Italian Gabriele Salvatores - a cyberpunk classic!
Then Lambert starred in rather passable films. For example, in “Janice and John” - an adventurous comedy made in France. There was a film about the singer Dalida. There was also the adventure comedy “Vatanen’s Hare”, the historical movie “Day of Wrath”, the detective story “Lost in Deauville” with Sophie Marceau, the role of a vampire in “Metamorphoses”... In a word, there were a lot of films.
