She was silent from grief: her daughter spoke for the first time about the death of Alla Verber

Biography

Alla Verber is a buyer and fashion director of TSUM, vice-president of the jewelry company Mercury. She purchased goods for prestigious stores in Russia and created new collections. Alla was one of the most successful businesswomen in the country and had an extraordinary flair for everything related to style and trends.

Her professional biography in the fashion industry began at the age of 18, and she herself claimed that she became interested in stylish clothes as a child, when she looked out of the window at foreign tourists - guests of the city.

Tragic event

In the latest news of 2020 from the fashion world, the sudden death of the fashion director of TSUM takes almost the first place. After the death of the businesswoman’s father, who became a victim of cancer at the age of 57, Alla Konstantinovna was given the same diagnosis in 2008. For 5 years, the woman bravely fought against a fatal disease and, according to doctors, emerged victorious.

While on vacation in Forte dei Marma on the evening of August 5, Alla Konstantinovna was urgently hospitalized due to a sudden deterioration in her health. Doctors made every effort to save her, but sepsis, accompanied by blood poisoning, left no chance, and a day later Alla Verber died of anaphylactic shock and a massive heart attack.

Alla Verber was buried in Toronto, the city where her career began and which became the birthplace of the first open businesswoman boutique.

Together with her sister Irina, the girl often attended classical music concerts and performances. In an interview, Alla recalled how she did not like the clothes that her parents forced her to wear “on going out”: the scarce crimplene suit had a strange cut, and the fur coat, although expensive, was uncomfortable and heavy. In the absence of their mother and father, the sisters took things out of the closet and dressed up. Alla often chose turtlenecks and short skirts in combination with boots or heels.

Biography of Alla Verber

Alla Verber, whose biography begins in 1958, was born in Leningrad. Her father was a dentist and had a fairly good status, and her mother worked as a nurse. In addition to Alla, her sister Irina also grew up in the family.

As a child, Verber Alla Konstantinovna went abroad with her parents, as her father wanted to give the children the best. From a young age, Alla had a special talent; she could predict fashion trends several seasons in advance. The girl herself always dressed stylishly and modernly. The girl was attracted to fashion trends from different countries, especially refined and refined Italian women.

The parents did not have a very positive attitude towards such an interest of their daughter, considering this profession to be bad and prophesied a future for their daughter in medicine. Of course, the future businesswoman, having listened to her parents, entered medical school after school, although she understood that this profession did not attract her at all.

In her youth, Alla Verber accidentally ended up in her beloved Italy and it was there that she realized that she would never practice medicine, but fashion was definitely her thing. In Italy, the girl got a job in a clothing store, where she received her first fashion experience from the salespeople. However, the father insisted that his daughter live with her family in Canada, and Alla could not disobey. But even in Canada, she did not give up on what she loved. She got a job in a clothing store and, thanks to her talent, gained authority there. She began to be promoted up the career ladder and now Verber is already holding fashionable negotiations with famous people.

Soon Alla Verber opened several of her own clothing stores. The owner of one of the country's large companies noticed a talented girl and invited her to work with him, and after he found out that she was of Russian nationality, he sent her to Moscow to a towel factory. Of course, this was not the ultimate dream of the girl, and as soon as she received an invitation from the Mercury company, she immediately agreed.

Career

The parents wanted their daughter to follow in their footsteps and become a doctor. After the 8th grade, the girl obediently went to medical school, but even then she knew that she would not work in her specialty: her soul yearned for elegant images, stylish things and accessories. Alla’s dream was to work in a fashion store, but at that time there were few of them in the USSR, and her father and mother believed that a trade worker was an unprestigious and unworthy profession.

In 1976, the Verber family immigrated to Austria. They went almost at random, with a meager amount of money in their pockets, hoping to find personal freedom and growth opportunities abroad. Parents and grown-up daughters changed several countries: after Austria they moved to their historical homeland in Israel (they were Jewish by nationality), then settled in Canada. During a short tourist visit to Italy, Alla fell in love with Rome - a real paradise for lovers of fashionable things - and soon went there without her parents.

According to Alla’s recollections, before leaving, her father and mother gave her 4 fox skins with them - “You will sell them later and live on it,” but they were never useful. “These skins hung there for 40 years,” she said in an interview.

Alla Verber's husband

In Canada, Alla Verber meets her future husband. In marriage, she becomes a mother and a beautiful daughter, Katya, appears in the family. Verber did not live long with her husband, only three years.

In St. Petersburg, a businesswoman meets her second husband. Alla Verber's second husband David Averbakh owned food production enterprises. Her husband loves Alla very much and understands that her constant travels are her work and her whole life, so he never quarrels about this. On all holidays, the family gathers at home around a large table; they prefer home gatherings rather than celebrations in a restaurant. And whenever the spouses have even the slightest chance, they go on vacation together.

The personal life of the spouses is very happy and interesting, despite the fact that they do not have children together. But on the other hand, her wonderful daughter Ekaterina has children, so today, in addition to everything, Alla Verber is also a happy grandmother who is adored by her grandchildren. Alla Verber's family and personal life are kept secret; she does not advertise her personal details.

Death

On August 6, the media reported the sudden death of Alla Verber at the age of 62. Alla died in the Italian city of Forte dei Marmi. In her Telegram channel, presenter Ksenia Sobchak revealed the details of the tragedy, found out from the relatives of the deceased. Verber's condition worsened sharply on the evening of August 5, after which emergency hospitalization occurred.

Alla Verber's inheritance, who will get it?

The legend of the Russian fashion world Alla Verber learned in 2008 that she had blood cancer - the same disease from which her father died at the age of 57. She decided that she would fight and did so successfully for many years. But this Tuesday, death still overtook Alla Konstantinovna.

61-year-old Alla Konstantinovna left behind a close-knit family, whom she loved madly: daughter Katya, granddaughters Michelle and Elizabeth, little grandson Michael. It’s scary to imagine what a grief this news was for them, and how it hit her 85-year-old mother, Tatyana Abramovna, a survivor of the siege of Leningrad, who is now in Toronto with her second daughter Irina.

In addition to the savings that the family probably had, the main item of the inheritance in this case will be Alla Verber’s luxurious four-room apartment on Tverskoy Boulevard in Moscow. Everyone is well aware of the exorbitant housing prices in this area, exceeding 100 million rubles, but the most interesting and expensive thing is the maintenance of the apartment.

As Alla Konstantinovna herself told reporters, she arranged her corner in the center of the capital with great love and to her taste. As a result, the interior decoration cost her more than the cost of the apartment itself. Designer renovations, branded furniture, original paintings by famous nonconformist masters on the walls (Nesterova, Kabakov, Purygin, Nemukhin, Kropivnitsky) - when guests came to such a home, they often felt like visitors to the Hermitage, albeit not too large and much more comfortable.

Let us remind you that according to Russian laws, the heirs of the first priority are the children (here it is Katya) and the parents of the deceased. Considering Tatyana Abramovna’s age, she is unlikely to want to claim her rights to the inheritance and all of Alla Verber’s property, so her beloved and only daughter may receive it.

Daughter of Alla Verber

Verber Alla’s daughter, Ekaterina, in addition to her family, is also interested in the fashion industry and is already working under her mother’s supervision. Journalists say that Katya’s style is ideal, just like her mothers, and even nicknamed her the Russian Paris Hilton. In the photo, Ekaterina poses for the magazine.

Alla always tries to help her daughter in all her endeavors and gives her invaluable advice.

What is the cause of Alla Verber's death?

The Zvezda TV channel, citing a source in the Central Department Store, reports that, according to preliminary information, the cause of Verber’s death was a heart attack. Starhit magazine writes that the businesswoman’s health worsened while on vacation in Italy. On the evening of Monday, August 5, she was taken to the Forte dei Marmi hospital, where she suffered from anaphylactic shock. According to the publication, it led to failure of internal organs and a heart attack. Doctors fought to the last for Verber’s life, but on the morning of July 6 she died.

In 2013, Alla Verber publicly admitted that she had been battling stage three blood cancer for five years. The businesswoman learned about the terrible diagnosis on the eve of her fiftieth birthday. Due to chemotherapy, she lost her hair and gained 20 kg, but was able to overcome the disease.

Personal life

While living in Canada, Alla Verber met her future husband. They lived together for 3 years in New York. They had a daughter, Ekaterina. However, after some time the couple broke up, and Alla again went into free swimming.

From New York she returned to Canada and settled not in Montreal, but in Toronto, where she founded her first boutique, which she named Katia of Italy in honor of her daughter. Further, as you already know, she was offered to become a representative of the K-Mart company in Russia, and she agreed. It was 1994. After arriving, she met a man who became her second husband. Businessman David Averbakh is the president of a large company that produces food. She is happily married, although she and David have no children together. But Katya gave birth to two beautiful daughters, and today Alla Konstantinovna is the most businesslike but loving grandmother in the world.
