Passion for theater
Anatoly Kot became interested in theater very early. In second grade, he participated in the school play “A Kitten Named Woof.” Then he enrolled in a children's studio and played Kai in the fairy tale “The Snow Queen,” beloved by all children. When the guy graduated from high school, the question of choosing a profession did not arise before him. Anatoly was sure that he should definitely become an actor. He was attracted to the stage. He couldn't even imagine himself in another profession. It is quite natural that he decided to enter the Academy of Arts in Minsk in the acting department.

Germany
In the year 2000, Anatoly was invited to Germany to work in the play “Orpheus and Eurydice.” He became one of two actor-readers. The premiere took place in the opera hall. A male bass choir performed on stage with the actors. In addition, in two thousand and four, German audiences saw him in the one-man show “Notes of a Madman” at the Tacheles Theater. This work received positive reviews from German critics, and the audience was delighted with the work of the actor from Russia.
In two thousand and five, Anatoly Kot was invited to work in Moscow, at the Armen Dzhigarkhanyan Theater, where he serves to this day.
The best films and TV series with Anatoly Kot
After Anatoly Leonidovich played a negative character in the television series “Soldiers,” which became very popular, Russian television viewers began to recognize him. Special officer Shkalin could not leave them indifferent.
The actor has many offers to act. Now he can choose for himself which proposals to agree to. The most notable films with Anatoly’s participation are “Margosha” (which also starred Eduard Trukhmenev, Maria Berseneva, Elena Perova, Vladimir Sterzhakov and others), “Brest Fortress”, “Sky on Fire”, “Operation Gorgon”, “Black Wolves” " and etc.
Actor Anatoly Kot in the film “Anastasia Slutskaya”
Anatoly got into Margosha, one might say, through connections. Long before filming began, the actor learned that this series would be directed by his classmate Sergei Arlanov.
The actor played an FSB major in “Brotherhood of the Airborne Forces.” This is a film about male friendship and love, the hero Anatoly is a man who fulfills his duty without having the right to be open in life.
First experience in cinema
In 2001, the actor first tried his hand at cinema. I must say that he immediately got an interesting and bright role as an ophthalmologist in the melodrama “The Guide”. This work begins his filmography. Anatoly Kot did not expect that popularity would come to him after this role. Real fame came to him after the role of Prince Drutsky in the historical film “Anastasia Drutskaya” (2003). In this film, the actor brilliantly played the role of a man who was destined to experience enormous, all-consuming love, but one cannot live with it, one can only die with it...
This work was highly acclaimed at several film festivals. In Belarus, his homeland, he became more and more popular with each new role. In 2003, he was invited to several more films, of which the very controversial and even controversial military drama “Occupation” should be noted. Mysteries" directed by Andrey Kudinenko. In assessing this picture, “ambiguous” is the key word. What is missing in this picture is the main thing that art should be aimed at – positivity, desire and the ability to give hope. The film caused a lot of controversy, negative reviews, and, in the end, was banned from showing.
Gradually, the actor gained popularity in Russia. This happened after his work in the series “Soldiers”. In this film he played a negative role - special officer Shkalin, but the bright and realistic image he created was remembered by the viewer.
Biography
Anatoly Kot was nicknamed the main villain of Russian cinema. A piercing gaze that seems to penetrate through you, tightly compressed lips, taciturnity. These are the actor’s characters in “Mistress of the Taiga”, “Brest Fortress”, “Kidnapping”. But journalists, interviewing him, Fr.
Anatoly Kot
The cat said that he met people who transferred the aura of screen characters to a living person, and sometimes from the first minutes a negative attitude was felt.
“And then they look - a normal person. Well, you know, you talk to someone for five minutes somewhere in a group: “Oh, look! In life you are completely different!”
The actor perceives this situation as one of the facets of the profession. Anatoly is not obsessed with the dream of playing a brilliant role, for example, Hamlet. The pleasure for him lies in the filming process, in communicating with the director and partners. It doesn’t matter what or who is a drama, a comedy or another scoundrel.
Anatoly Kot: biography, personal life
The actor has been lucky in life - he has had a brilliant career, and besides, he is happy in his personal life. Anatoly Kot, whose photo you see in this article, registered his first marriage with the famous actress Yulia Vysotskaya. Not everyone knew then that this marriage was fictitious. The young people studied on the same course, and when Vysotskaya was offered a place in the troupe of the Yanka Kupala Theater, she needed Belarusian citizenship, which she did not have. And then her friend Anatoly came to the rescue. They formalized the union, and Yulia remained to work in Minsk. They are still friendly today, call each other back, visit each other.
Anatoly met his real soulmate much later. She turned out to be a charming woman who had nothing to do with theater and cinema. Elena is a manager. A daughter, Alice, is growing up in the family. Today they all live in Moscow. Arriving in the capital, Elena wanted to continue her career, but it turned out that everything she earned would have to be given to the nanny. Therefore, at the family council it was decided that the wife would take care of her daughter and the house.
Personal life
For the first time, the actor did not marry for love; it was a fictitious marriage with Yulia Vysotskaya. Anatoly clarifies: “Yulia and I are classmates. Once she was invited to the Yanka Kupala National Theater, but it turned out that according to her passport she was not a citizen of Belarus, and without citizenship she might not have been accepted into the theater. The only option is to marry someone from Minsk. I just helped her. We're still friends."
The artist and his manager Alena formed a real family. The marriage produced a daughter, Alice. However, this union was not durable. The couple divorced, but Anatoly continues to communicate with his daughter.
Later, a new love appeared in the actor’s life; a relationship began with colleague Yanina Kolesnichenko. They met on the set of the TV series “Margosha”. The artists did not advertise their relationship, but they did not hide it either - they always appeared together at social events. At the end of 2011, no one had any doubts - the fruit of their love was born - daughter Arina.
Films and theater
After completing his studies at the academy, Kot participated in several productions in Minsk theaters, and also played in private enterprises. In his youth, Anatoly managed to work as a radio presenter.
In the early 2000s, it became virtually impossible to make a living in Minsk by acting, so I had to go to radio. There, the artist worked as a DJ, news anchor, and even hosted original programs. The guy really liked working on the radio; he experienced the adrenaline of working on the air, when you can’t make a single mistake. But over time, the love for acting won out.
Lyudmila Artemyeva and Anatoly Kot in the play “Kiss of Fortune”
Since 1997, Anatoly began to try himself in cinema. His cinematic biography began with small roles, and at first the Cat appeared on screens infrequently. The first picture where you can see the actor is “Two Stories of One Hussar”. Since 2000, he began to appear more and more often in films; his fame began to grow rapidly after he played roles in the film “The Guide” and the popular TV series “The Law” and “Kamenskaya-2”.
Cinema
The actor made his film debut in the late 90s, starring in several short films and episodes of the series “Accelerated Help,” “The Law,” and “Kamenskaya-2.”
In 2003, the artist was invited to play a supporting role in the military-patriotic drama by Yuri Elkhov “Anastasia Slutskaya”. For this work, Alexander received a number of awards at prestigious film festivals.
"On a Nameless Height"
A year later, the actor played in another war film - “At a Nameless Height” by Vyacheslav Nikiforov. Special officer Shulgin became his hero.
The film tells the story of the last months of the Great Patriotic War, when the troops of the Soviet Army pushed the Nazis out of the territory of Belarus.
The artist talks about his impressions of filming: “At a Nameless Height” was one of my first roles, and I was given a game weapon - a TT pistol. I took it, and it was stamped there: 1939. I understand how much this weapon has seen, probably a terrible weapon. Then, while my grandmother was still alive, I became more consciously interested in her. Because I knew that she survived the war.
I was interested and realized that I would never refuse an offer to star in a war film, because it needs to be talked about, it needs to be talked about as much as possible so that children growing up know what a horror it is and how scary it is.”
And the Cat kept his word - he then played the main roles in the drama “Territory of Resistance” and the video almanac “I Remember.”
In the mid-2000s, the actor appeared as racer Sergei Dronov in the sitcom “Race for Happiness,” played Pastor Link in Vitaly Moskalenko’s detective story “Bay of Fear,” and played Major Shkalin in the comedy series “Soldiers.”
The artist’s works in the films “Shield of the Fatherland” by Denis Skvortsov, “Margosha” by Sergei Arlanov and Andrei Silkin, “Secret Guard. Deadly Games" by Alexander Stroev, "Brest Fortress" by Alexander Kott, "The Life and Adventures of Mishka Yaponchik" by Sergei Ginzburg, "Black Wolves" by Dmitry Konstantinov, "The Road to Easter Island" by Vsevolod Aravin.
Among Anatoly Kot’s film characters were: doctor Pavel Korsakov in the melodrama “45 Seconds” by Vladimir and Olga Basov, Major Lobanov in the action film “Bomb” by Oleg Fesenko, Chief Kokin in the film “Mother’s Love” by Igor Perin, Lieutenant Colonel Shkalin in the comedy by Vladimir Tumaev and Roman Zimin “Soldiers. Back in service,” political instructor Lyadov in Sergei Krutin’s military drama “Goodbye, Boys.”
