Childhood

Oksimiron was born in 1985, January 31. The real name of the young rapper is Fedorov Miron Yanovich. The guy spent his childhood in the city of his birth - St. Petersburg, at that time Leningrad. The parents were a couple from the average Soviet intelligentsia. His father was a theoretical physicist, worked by profession and was engaged in science, and his mother was a local librarian.

In 1994, when Miron’s father was offered a new position, the Fedorov family left the USSR and settled in a historical city in Germany called Essen. Then the boy was nine years old, and he often recalls that time as a difficult period of adaptation to a new country, mastering a new language, meeting peers, relationships with whom, by the way, did not work out from the very beginning. The students of the elite Maria Wechtler gymnasium were mostly from wealthy families, and the simple Russian boy became an object of ridicule and jokes for them. After another fourteen years, already at the dawn of his career, Miron will remember this unpleasant time for him in his song “Last Call” (2009):

Don't you dare accuse me of plagiarism.

Everyone today on Odnoklassniki, VKontakte,

But not all classmates are in contact.

Do you understand what we are talking about?

Childhood of Miron Fedorov. Education and first creativity

Miron was born in one of the Leningrad maternity hospitals on January 31, 1985. The now famous rapper comes from an ordinary intelligent family: Miron’s father was a physics professor, and his mother was a librarian. For the first 4 years he studied at Leningrad school No. 185, after which his father was offered a place at one of the universities in Germany, and the family moved to the German town of Ruttenscheid.

Finding himself in a foreign environment without knowledge of the German language, it was difficult for Miron. At the prestigious school named after Maria Wechtler, where he studied, he was humiliated by his classmates, who came from wealthy families. He subsequently spoke about his attitude towards this difficult period in the song “Last Call”. It was rap that became the anchor of salvation that helped the 13-year-old teenager overcome ridicule and bullying. He composed his first works under the pseudonym MC Myth. MC Myth - “Al Ogon” (2000) At the age of 15, the guy changed his place of residence again - he moved to the English city of Slough, which at that time was firmly established as one of the centers of drug trafficking in Britain. According to Miron’s recollections, among the local kids there were many “chavs”, drug addicts and outcasts, but the young man had extremely pleasant memories of the local school.

From the age of 15 Oksimiron lived in England

It was the teacher who taught history there who noticed the boy's potential and insisted that he apply to Oxford. At that time, the most prestigious university in the country seemed mythically inaccessible to Miron; Among the other applicants in 2004, despite his good erudition and a decent certificate, he seemed to himself to be an “uncouth peasant.” This was due to imperfect knowledge of the language, a German accent, and the lack of any social or sporting achievements. Apparently, due to his innate stubbornness, Miron chose the Faculty of English Literature, specializing in “Literature of the Middle Ages,” and still entered - during the course he was surrounded by native Englishmen from the “top of society.”

In 2006, he was diagnosed with bipolar disorder, as a result of which Miron was expelled from the university. However, he recovered and eventually graduated from Oxford, but his diploma grades were the lowest possible.

Oksimiron graduated from Oxford with a diploma in medieval English literature

After graduation, Miron rented an apartment on the outskirts of London - this period of life is also often mentioned in his works - and tried to get a job, but it quickly became clear that without the necessary connections this was not easy even for an Oxford graduate, especially with such an unclaimed specialty and low grades. As a result, he got a job in construction - this decision was not easy, but he needed money to support his family and realize his creative ambitions. Subsequently, he changed many professions - he worked as a tutor, guide, entertainer, worked in an office, unloaded trucks, and even for some time was a “literary black man.”

Childhood

Fedorov Miron Yanovich (real name Oksimiron) was born in the USSR into an ordinary intelligent family. His parents were simple workers: his father was a professor, and his mother was a librarian. The Fedorov family lived in Russia until Miron entered the 4th grade.

During this period, Miron’s father was offered a good position at one of the universities in Germany, and the whole family moved permanently abroad, to the city of Ruttenscheid. It was difficult for a boy to adapt to a foreign country without knowing the language. His classmates mocked and made fun of him.

In one of his interviews, Oksimiron said that rap became a lifeline for him, and at that time he began writing his first songs under the pseudonym MC Myth. At the age of 15, the young man again changed his place of residence and moved to Britain, the city of Slough.

Miron Fedorov in childhood

At that time, this town had a bad reputation - many drug addicts and marginalized people lived here. However, Miron only has good memories of the local school. At this school, the history teacher noted that the young man has potential and abilities.

She strongly recommended that Miron try his hand and apply for admission to Oxford. At that time, the young man did not think that he could achieve anything; he was embarrassed by the German accent in his pronunciation, his insufficient knowledge of English and the lack of sports awards.

However, Miron showed stubbornness and entered the department of medieval literature, where, in addition to him, children from high society and natives of England studied. In 2006, Miron was expelled from the university because the young man was diagnosed with split personality.

Despite this, Miron was able to recover after some time and graduated from the university, but with the lowest grades. After finishing his studies at Oxford, Oksimiron rented an apartment in a remote area of London and began trying to get a job.

But without the necessary connections, this turned out to be difficult, even with a diploma from Oxford. Moreover, the narrow focus of his specialization and poor grades mattered. As a result, Miron decided to get a job in construction in order to somehow support his family and earn money for his creative ideas.

Subsequently, Miron changed his place of work many times, including:

  • entertainer;
  • tutor;
  • guide;
  • office worker;
  • loader, etc.

Before becoming a musician, Miron tried himself in various fields of activity

The beginning of Oksimiron's musical career

Miron “appeared” on the radar of the general public around 2008 - at this time he began posting his demo recordings on the Internet. By this time, he had taken the pseudonym Oxxxymiron, which was a reference, firstly, to his real name, secondly, to the literary term “oxymoron”, and the triple “x” referred to the generous use of obscene language in his tracks.

In 2009, he took part in the 14th independent hip-hop battle from the HipHop.ru project, where he created a real sensation - his tracks in the rounds “In the Country of Women”, “No Communication” and “Magician’s Box” were recognized as the best among those performed as part of the battle of compositions. He also won in the categories “Best Sparring”, “Breakthrough of the Battle” and “Best MC of the Battle”. Oxxxymiron reached the semi-finals of the hip-hop tournament, where he met with rapper Chest. The latter won, which caused the indignation of many listeners, who considered Oksimiron a much more worthy opponent.

The 14th independent hip-hop battle “opened” Oksimiron to the general public

After winning the battle, representatives of the Russian-language recording label Optik Records from Germany drew attention to Oksimiron. This is exactly how Oxxxymiron and Schokk (Dmitry Hinter) met, which resulted in a fruitful, but short-lived creative union.

Creative endeavors

In 2008, Miron began to be recognized by a large number of listeners of rap artists, since from that moment he began sharing his demo recordings online. He came up with a new pseudonym for himself with a reference to his own name and literary device - Oxxxymiron.

The triple X in the pseudonym indicated that the performer’s texts contained a large amount of obscene language. In 2014, Oksimiron took part in a hip-hop project from Hip-Hop.ru, where he made a great impression on the public. All of his performed tracks (including “Yeti and Children”) were recognized as the best of the entire battle.

In addition, he won this project in the following categories:

  • Best Battle MC;
  • Best sparring;
  • Battle's breakthrough.

Miron managed to reach the semi-finals, but the main prize went to his opponent – Chest. The public was dissatisfied with this result and the majority believed that Oksimiron was more worthy of the prize.

After this performance, the rapper began to receive invitations for cooperation from recording companies in Germany. Miron signed a contract with one of them (Optik Records), and this is how he met Dmitry Hinter. Subsequently, they had a short but rather fruitful creative union.

Oxxxymiron's first solo album. Vagabund

In the summer of 2010, Oksimiron broke off relations with OptikRusha due to personal contradictions. Together with Schokk and another performer known under the pseudonym Vanya Lenin, Miron created his own label “Vagabund” (translated as “tramp”, “wanderer”). As part of this working alliance, he released his first album, “The Eternal Jew,” which gained wild popularity among the Russian-speaking audience and the “Discovery of the Year” nomination from GQ magazine. Oxxxymiron - “Tumbler” Together with Shock, Oxxxymiron went on a long tour of the CIS countries, but soon there was a rift in the team due to a clash with rapper Roma Zhigan. After the quarrel, Shock left for Germany, and Oksimiron gave a free solo concert in Moscow, after which he went to London.

Tandem Oksimiron - Shock did not last long

For some time he “went underground”, but in 2012 he presented fans with his first mixtape “miXXXtape I”, a year later the next one was released – “miXXXtape II: The Long Way Home”.

During this period, he also actively collaborated with a number of prominent Western artists, including Canadian rapper Madchild and Germans Automatikk.

Oksimiron participated several times in the promising domestic project Versus - a hip-hop battle, where participants read their “disses” against the enemy without a beat, and the text of the speeches is prepared in advance and read out in three rounds. His opponents were rappers Dunya, Krip-a-Krip, Johnnyboy - and each time he won an unconditional victory, as the audience said, “flawless victory”.

Versus: Oxxxymiron VS Johnnyboy The release of Oxxxymiron's second solo album was postponed since 2012 and finally took place in November 2015. The record, called “Gorgorod,” was a complete conceptual work telling the story of a writer named Mark, and therefore recommended for listening in strict order of compositions, of which there were 11 in the album.

In 2020, Oxxxymiron conducted two big tours: “Takeover tour” and “Back to Europe Tour”, and also participated in the recording of three joint compositions with rapper Porchy.

In June 2020, Versus Oxxxymiron vs. took place. The video of their battle was posted on Youtube on June 19, and just three days later the number of views exceeded 5 million.

Versus: Oxxxymiron VS ST In August 2020, the long-awaited rap battle between Oxxxymiron and battle MC Gnoyny took place. At the end of three rounds, all five judges voted for Gnoyny. Versus X SlovoSPB. Oksimiron VS Gnoyny A month later, the rapper broke his one-and-a-half-year silence and presented a new track, “Bipolarochka,” which he wrote and recorded in one night.

On October 15, Oksimiron clashed with his colleague from the USA, the famous battle MC Dizaster (real name Bashir Yagami). The verbal duel took place in Los Angeles. The opponents read in English; the text was dubbed with subtitles for Russian viewers. It is noteworthy that Dizaster was the first to show interest in the Russian rapper, impressed by the multimillion-dollar number of views that the battle between Oksimiron and Johnnyboy collected. Oksimiron opened his first round with words from Alexey Balabanov’s film “Brother-2”: “Tell me, American, what is strength?” Oksimiron succinctly described his impressions of the battle on his Twitter: “I’m dropping the West, ooh.” Another entry appeared on Disaster’s Twitter: “Oksimiron, you were great!”

Rapper biography

Life has not always been kind to the musician. But he was able to overcome difficulties and achieve such popularity that, having soared to the top of success in 2008, the musician remains one of the favorite rappers of young people today, and fans get tattoos of his image on their bodies.

Childhood

Miron Fedorov was born on January 31, 1985 in Leningrad (St. Petersburg). The boy was raised in a Jewish family of intellectuals. Dad - Yan Valerievich, studied science in the field of physics, defended his doctoral dissertation in 1994. Mom held the position of librarian. The child studied at secondary school No. 185 in the city of Leningrad.

At the age of 9, Miron moved with his family to Germany. The Fedorovs settled in the city of Essen, where their father was offered a job. It was difficult for the child to get used to the new conditions. The hardest thing for him was learning the language.

Miron was accepted into a prestigious gymnasium. Children from wealthy families received education at the educational institution. They received the new student unkindly. Ridicule and mockery rained down on Myron. The teenager was worried about this; later these feelings were reflected in his work.

While living in Germany, Fedorov took his first steps in music under the nickname MYTH, which he formed from the first letters of his first and last name. When Miron turned 15 years old, the family changed their place of residence again. This time they stopped in the town of Slough in the UK. This settlement was notorious. It was the center of drug trafficking.

The school where Miron entered was strikingly different from the German gymnasium. The children of workers studied here. The teenager developed friendly relations with new classmates. The favorable environment contributed to excellent academic performance. Myron completely immersed himself in it and surprised his parents with brilliant results.

Youth

The history teacher recommended the young man to enter Oxford, since she herself is a graduate of this university. Fedorov chose to study English literature of the Middle Ages.

Studying at the university did not work out. It was difficult for him to join the student elite. The young man never considered himself a member of high society.

In 2006, doctors discovered Miron had a mental illness. He was expelled from the university. Soon he managed to return to his studies. In 2008, the young man graduated from Oxford and moved to the East End.

Return to creativity

Finding a job in a prestigious company in the UK was not easy. Employers preferred to hire young professionals from wealthy families. They refused to employ an Oxford graduate, citing his “overqualification.”

Myron had to work 12-15 hours a day, seven days a week. He undertook to perform any duties. There wasn't enough money. The young man was forced to live in the basement, and then in an unfurnished apartment. But our hero’s social circle has expanded. Among the new acquaintances there were many representatives of the Russian emigration. This circumstance and the lack of permanent work pushed Miron to return to creativity.

He came up with the pseudonym Oxxxymiron. It is a combination of the English term "oxymoron", meaning "witty fool", and the name of the musician. The tripled letter x hints at obscene language in the artist's songs.

In 2008, the musician’s first demo recordings appeared on the Internet. The rapper's popularity grew rapidly. In 2020, the series “Londongrad” was filmed, the events of which are based on the story of Miron Fedorov’s adventures in England.

Personal life of Oksimiron

Oksimiron does not like to comment on his personal life in the press. It is known that he was married, but divorced. In 2014, fans attributed his relationship with a girl named Sonya Grese, as many joint photos appeared online, indicating a close relationship between them. Subsequently (during the battle with Gnoyny) he denied this information. The question of whether Oksimiron has a girlfriend is still of great interest to the rapper’s many fans.

Music

Oksimiron began studying music at an early age. It started in Germany: due to emotional distress, a short 13-year-old boy, taking the pseudonym Myth, began to plunge headlong into rap. Initially he performed recitatives in German, but later began to use his native language. At that time, Miron thought that he would become a kind of innovator, the first person who thought of rapping in Russian. At that time, there were no Russian emigrants around the guy, so he did not suspect how deeply he was mistaken.

However, the illusion did not last long: after a trip to his homeland, the guy learned that the niche of Russian rap had long been occupied. In the 2000s, when Miron and his family moved to England, he got the Internet. Thanks to him, the guy appreciated the scale of Russian rap. Around the same time, the gifted young man appeared on the website Hip-Hop.ru, where he demonstrated his skills to users.

Later, Oxy realized that although his repertoire differs from the simple creativity of his colleagues, it still falls short of perfection. Therefore, Fedorov stopped putting his songs on public display and started rapping for himself.

In the UK, an Oxford diploma is by no means a guarantee of successful employment. Miron worked as a cashier-translator, office clerk, builder, tutor, etc., sometimes working 12-15 hours a day, seven days a week. He said that he, like Raskolnikov, had to live in a basement without a door, and later the rapper moved into an apartment without furniture, which was rented out by a Palestinian scammer. At this time, the singer met another performer, Shock.

In 2007, Oxy made friends with the local Russian crowd in Green Park, due to whose influence he began recording songs again. In 2008, the track “London Against Everyone” was released. The gifted guy was immediately noticed by the popular label OptikRussia, through which Fedorov acquired his first wave of fans. At the same time, Miron delighted fans with his debut video “I’m a Hater.”

A year later, Oksimiron took part in the independent rap battle Hip-Hop.ru. The talented performer reached the semi-finals and became the winner in several categories, for example, “Best MC of the Battle”, “Discovery of 2009”, “Breakthrough of the Battle”, etc. Fedorov later left the OptikRussia label due to inconsistency of creative goals.

In 2011, Miron, together with his partner Shock and manager Ivan, created the Vagabund label, which released the rapper’s debut album “The Eternal Jew.” Due to a conflict with Roma Zhigan, Fedorov left the label and gave a free solo concert in Moscow as the final tour.

In 2012, Oksimiron presented the online release of the miXXXtape I mixtape, and in 2013, the second collection of songs “miXXXtape II: The Long Way Home” was released, which contained compositions released in 2012–2013 (“Lie Detector” , “Tumbler”, “Before Winter”, “Out of this World”, “Signs of Life”).

In 2014, the guy recorded the song “I’m Bored of Life” together with LSP, and then their fans heard the common track “Madness”. Later, due to disagreements between the performers, a conflict arose. In 2020, Oxxxymiron pleased admirers of his work with a video for the song “Londongrad,” which he wrote specifically for the adventure series of the same name, in which the main roles were played by Nikita Efremov and Ingrid Olerinskaya.

Also in 2015, Oxy released the album “Gorgorod”, which included popular singles such as “Intertwined”, “Lullaby”, “Polygon”, “Ivory Tower”, “Where We Are Not”, etc. It is noteworthy that this disc is a kind of musical novel: all the tracks are intertwined with a single plot and are arranged in a general chronological order. The story tells about the life of the writer Mark: the listener learns about this man’s conflict with a literary agent, about his unhappy love, creativity, etc. At the same time, Fedorov released the sensational video “City Under the Sole” and the track “Immersion,” as well as for the first time became a guest on Ivan Urgant's show.

Oksimiron and Purulent
It is worth saying that Oksimiron is a regular on the Internet show on YouTube “Versus Battle”. The essence of the program is that representatives of rap and hip-hop culture compete with each other in verbal art. Episodes with Miron instantly gain more than a million views. He defeated Kripple, Dunya and ST, but the most famous and anticipated fight was the battle between Oxy and Joniboy (2015).

In the winter of 2020, a member of the rap gang Centr, Ptah, criticized Fedorov’s work to smithereens in an interview. Miron responded by mentioning the provocateur in the track “Deja Vu”, after which Centr threatened Oxy that they should not be touched.

In 2012, Miron was invited to the Russian Urban Music Awards (the concert was organized by Rap.ru, with whom Fedorov had a tense relationship). During Miron’s performance, a certain man in a mask came out and began reading the track “Tumbler” along with the soundtrack. Fedorov remained behind the scenes. Thus, the performer demonstrated that he was not ready to sell himself for money in order to perform at such shows.

In 2020, YouTube viewers witnessed the battle between Oksimiron and rapper Slava KPSS (Gnoiny), who is a representative of the battle platform SlovoSPB. The fact is that Gnoyny touched on Oxy in the text from the previous battle:

“What does the opinion of this hype-hungry pig mean if he says he loves cool battles, but still hasn’t battled with a battle MC?”

Miron almost never reacts to attacks against him, but this case was an exception: Fedorov said on Twitter that he would certainly cool down the ardor of his instigator, but lost. In August 2020, the long-awaited battle between Miron Fedorov and Vyacheslav Karelin took place. The tournament was broadcast on YouTube video hosting and received 10 million views within a day. Oksimiron attributed his defeat to the presence of a large amount of lyrics in the performance, while Gnoyny’s hype is popular.

In 2017, the rapper recorded a joint composition with the group “Bi-2”. The musicians dedicated the song “It’s Time to Return Home,” posted on Oksimiron’s YouTube channel, to Russian emigrants. At the same time, the rapper became the executive director of the Booking Machine label, but lasted only 2 years: in 2019, Oksimiron announced that from now on his paths with the company diverged. He publicly said goodbye not only to Booking Machine, but also to old songs, explaining that he would no longer perform them on stage.

Oksimiron now

Oksimiron publicly supported a series of opposition protests in the wake of preventing independent candidates from participating in the Moscow City Duma elections in July-August 2020.

At the end of August, the rapper announced that he was leaving Booking Machine, the head of which he had been for seven years. He also hinted that he would probably stop touring.

Discography

Miron Fedorov did not even think of stopping where he started. Already in 2012, he released his first mixtape, which was called miXXXtape I, and a year later he shared with listeners the second part of “miXXXtape II: The Long Way Home.” The most popular tracks then were “Lie Detector”, “Before Winter”, “Tumbler”, “Signs of Life”, “Not of this World”.

In 2014, the guy began working together with LSP. First, the hit “I’m Bored of Life” was released, and then another common track called “Madness” was released. But the rappers were not destined to work together for long. And in 2020, after the termination of cooperation, Oksimiron shot a video for one of his songs “Londongrad”. This was a work specially written for the series, the main actors in which were Ingrid Olerinskaya and Nikita Efremov.

Around the same time in 2020, another album by Oksimiron called “Gorgorod” was released, which pleased the rapper’s fans with the singles “Lullaby”, “Intertwined”, “Ivory Tower”, “Polygon”, “Where We Are Not” that blew up the Internet. . This is an unusual album: Miron immediately emphasized that this is a kind of novel-story, here each song is intertwined with the plot of the other, that is, this is not a set of incoherent tracks. The rap narrative tells listeners about the life of the writer Mark, his unrequited love, his conflicts, and creativity. Many believe that all this was not invented by the singer and that a piece of autobiography is present in this story.

Then the video “City Under the Sole” was released, which found many responses on the Internet, as well as an equally famous song called “Immersion.” Subsequently, his public activity was participation in the already mentioned “Versus Battles”. Fans are looking forward to new singles and albums from him more and more willingly every day.

Relationship with Sonya Dukk

The Internet is replete with photographs of Oksimiron in company with Sonya Dukk. However, there is practically no information to be found about their relationship. One thing is known: the couple broke up.

Sonya is a beautiful blonde with a wide, expressive smile. It seems strange to journalists that Oksimiron did not talk about his relationship with a beautiful girl.

It should be noted that during the battle, Johnnyboy mentioned Sonya Dukk in his text.
