DiDyuLya: While working, my wife and I try to listen to each other

Biography

The musical performer was born in the city of Grodno on January 24, 1969. Here he went to 1st grade and for the first time picked up the guitar that his mother gave him. Then the little boy did not yet know how dramatically this gift would change his life.

The teachers who taught Valery were amazed at how deftly the boy handled the guitar. Many even then saw him as a future musician.

As soon as Valery got a guitar, he began to spend all his free time with it. The future musician studied new ways of playing, watched how famous performers played, and experimented.

Famous musician Valery Didulya

Perhaps it was then that Valery’s unusual performance style arose. Let us remind you that the compositions performed by Didyulya are folk and fusion with the influence of the New Age style.

First TV competition

Once he heard that Belarusian television was holding a competition to find young talented performers, Valery immediately decided to take part in it. He invited Dmitry Kurakulov, a dancer and choreographer from “White Ros,” with him. They won the competition. It was a great success, as they were invited to subsequent filming. Didyulya prepared for them with all seriousness and luck again. He passed the next round and got to the gala concert. The dreams of an aspiring artist have come true. A large audience, famous people, professional editors and directors shared their experiences with him and gave recommendations in which direction he should move.

At the Slavic Bazaar festival, they organized a small program in which everyone who participated in the previous television competition was invited. The festival was broadcast in all CIS countries and for Didyulya this became an opportunity to make a serious statement about himself. He builds a clear line for the upcoming work - he mixes guitar music with folk and electronic elements.

Didyulya successfully toured abroad

In 1998, Didyulya moved to Moscow - a city of great opportunities. It was very difficult for him to settle down there. The Moscow mentality was far from his hometown. He was able to survive due to his determination.

I had to perform on Arbat, but as a professional artist who plays not to earn money, but solely for his own pleasure.

Even not very high communication skills did not prevent the artist from stubbornly pursuing his goal. He had to overcome himself and call unfamiliar, but famous and significant people.

First professional steps

Valery decided not to give up on his dream of becoming a professional musician and tried to do everything possible to get noticed. His efforts were not in vain. The young man was invited to work in the Scarlet Sails group. It was led by Nikolai Khitrik. The group traveled with performances to a wide variety of cities. Somewhat later, “Scarlet Sails” began performing at the cooperative restaurant.

The ensemble disbanded with the collapse of the USSR. The team members realized that each of them had a wide field for self-expression. It is worth noting that not all participants in “Scarlet Sails” subsequently connected their lives with music. Some opened their own businesses, while others left the country altogether.

Work in the ensemble "White Dews"

Further, the future musical performer “Didyulya” connected his biography with the ensemble “White Dews”. At that time, Valery did not think about family - he did not want to have a wife and children. It was important for the artist to realize himself professionally.

Singer during another concert

“White Dews” - an ensemble of the city of Grodno - gave Valery a chance to try himself in a new field of activity. Here he worked not only as a musical performer, but also as a sound engineer.

The members of the group performed folk songs of Ukraine, Poland and Belarus. In the future, Didyulya will use playing folk style as the basis for his solo work.

The ensemble in which Valery worked turned out to be in demand in Western Europe. Here the musician discovered a new interesting sound in music - flamenco. When Valery became an independent performer, he began to often use these motifs in his songs.

Early years, childhood and family of Valery Didyuli

The future virtuoso guitarist was born in the city of Grodno, located in the west of modern Belarus. Here he attended secondary school. It was here that he first began to learn the basics of guitar music.

Valery Didyulya's music attracts millions of fans

Didyulya received his first guitar when he was five years old, as a gift from his mother. From that moment on, he systematically developed his innate talents, methodically picking the strings and rearranging the chords one after another. His teachers admired his ability to work, and he, not paying attention to anything, simply improved his playing, looking at the great guitarists of his time.

As a teenager, Valery first learned about the existence of various auxiliary devices that allow him to work on his guitar sound. From that moment on, experiments with gadgets, sensors, pickups and other similar elements became a real obsession for the young musician.

He developed his skills, and at the same time worked on creating an original guitar sound. Very soon such efforts bore fruit. Didyulya’s compositions began to acquire their unusual sound for the first time. However, the real peaks were still far away.

Some time later, as the third guitarist, our today's hero got a job in the vocal-instrumental group "Scarlet Dawns", which at that time was very popular in the BSSR. The group's concerts took place almost everywhere - in cities, towns, villages, collective farms, etc. The ensemble was promoted by success, but at some point “Scarlet Dawns” nevertheless began to disintegrate. The reason for this was the collapse of the USSR, as well as the huge number of opportunities that opened up. Some of the musicians went to the west, some opened their own business, and only our today's hero continued to systematically work on his creativity.

In the early nineties, he joined the Grodno band “Belye Rosy”, within which he worked for a long time not only as a guitarist, but also as a sound engineer. At that time, the named group was mainly engaged in the performance of Belarusian, Polish and Ukrainian folk songs. Valery Didyula liked the “folk” style so much that subsequently notes of folk music constantly sounded in all his later compositions.

In addition, it is also worth noting that it was as part of the ensemble “White Dews” that our today’s hero first went on tour to the countries of Western Europe - Poland, Germany, France, Switzerland, Italy, Spain and some other countries.

The young musician was especially impressed by Spain, or more precisely, by its characteristic guitar music in the flamenco style. After the end of the tour, Valery Didyulya stayed in this Pyrenean state for several more years, studying guitar passages and rhythms during this time.

Thus, by the end of the 2000s, the style of the Belarusian musician was finally formed. Flamenco music was subtly intertwined with Belarusian-Polish folk motifs, and all this was complemented by modern arrangements in house style.

Formation of a singer’s own style

In 2000, Valery acquired his own unique style of performing musical compositions. It markedly distinguished him from other guitar-playing musicians.

Valery gathered a group of like-minded people and became a solo artist. His team has traveled to many CIS countries. The audience always warmly welcomed Didula. Many found and still find his performance style very unusual.

Some sources indicate that Valery had “guardians”, without whom he would hardly have been able to make it to the big stage. Of course, the man has talent. However, this is sometimes not enough to become recognizable and in demand. Under the patronage of Minsk businessman Igor Bruskin and composer Oleg Eliseenko, Valery moved to Minsk.

Valery Didulya with his team "DiDyulya"

The artist almost immediately began to be invited to perform at the most famous venues in the city. Valery was also offered to take part in various music competitions, thanks to which he grew as a professional artist.

Somewhat later, Didyulya accepted the offer to participate in the Slavic Bazaar festival. This gave a powerful impetus to the further development of the musician’s career.

Music

The music captured Didyulya from the first chords. The young guitarist often went to concerts with friends and came up with original melodies. Valery joined the vocal and instrumental ensemble “Scarlet Dawns”. The group performed for residents of the city and collective farms. Concerts at a cooperative restaurant brought Didula his first earnings.

The ensemble broke up, so Valery had to look for a new place of work. He was invited to the White Dew team as a sound engineer. Didulya admits that this subsequently had a great influence on his work. The guitarist gained an understanding of the psychology and desires of the audience. The artist traveled around the world with the ensemble. On tour in Spain, Didulya became acquainted with the flamenco style.

Until this moment, the guitarist was in no hurry to delve into the sound of Spanish music. The team spent a lot of time in the country. Valery even managed to take part in several impromptu street concerts. Working in the ensemble pushed Didyulya to creative experiments. He had the necessary technical base that allowed him to record compositions. Together with dancer and choreographer Dmitry Kurakulov, he set out to conquer television.
