Training and further service in the KGB
Ogurtsov Alexey Nikolaevich, as already mentioned, grew up among military personnel. Therefore, there is nothing strange in the fact that every year he entered new schools and constantly moved from place to place. Military camps replaced each other one after another. It was very difficult, since each time I had to join a completely new team.
When he graduated from school (in 1986), the future actor decided to enter the Yaroslavl Higher Military Financial School. After graduation, Alexei Ogurtsov was assigned to serve in the KGB. Then he regularly served in various law enforcement agencies for twenty years, and held the position of accountant everywhere.
Military service[ | ]
After receiving a higher education diploma, Alexey goes to serve. Despite the fact that his parents had been trying to persuade him for a long time to get a civilian job, he did not listen. Thus, the future actor Alexei Ogurtsov devoted twenty long years to serving in several law enforcement agencies. He was an accountant in counterintelligence, in the border troops and the Airborne Forces. Alexey never gave up playing sports and always kept himself in good shape. The love for physical activity, which began in his school years, remained with him throughout his life. A few years after graduating from university, Alexey became a master of sports in shooting with standard weapons and mastered the art of hand-to-hand combat.
Participation in the filming of commercials
However, Alexey Ogurtsov can boast of not only a military career. He also turned out to be quite a good actor, to say the least. He starred in his first video in 2003, and it happened completely by accident. When he was walking along Arbat, a boy suddenly approached him. The young man said that Alexey is very reminiscent of Poddubny, and therefore he can try to play a small role in a movie. After several days, Alexey actually found himself in Ostankino. He was invited to star in a video dedicated to the famous athlete and play Ivan Poddubny himself. A few weeks later he was invited to participate in a video dedicated to Nestlé chocolate. There he got the role of coach.
After that, life sharply went in a different direction, which Alexey Ogurtsov does not regret at all. He turned out to be a wonderful actor.
Ilya Ogurtsov - from old to new - interview with the founder of the Ankhagram group
Dear friends! I am glad to present you an interview with the founder of the Ankhagram group. I also wanted to thank Ilya for this interview and his creativity!
Ilya Ogurtsov - founder of the Ankhagram group
Tell us about yourself, what else do you do in life besides music?
Ilya : I work at work like an ordinary, simple person. When I have time, I take photographs. But in general, I’m just wasting my youth in front of the monitor.
Is being a musician a profession or a recognition?
Ilya : If music is a routine, then it is a profession. If you do everything for your own pleasure, then you have a calling. Something like this.
How did ANKHAGRAM come about?
Ilya : I just wanted to express myself. Tell someone what's going on in my soul. Some write poetry, some paint. I'm here for the music. She was like my best friend, the person I could tell absolutely everything to. That's how it all appeared.
Are there any musicians or bands who influenced your work? What kind of music do you like?
Ilya : Shape of Despair, Anathema, HIM, Sigur Ros, Dolphin. Lots of different bands and performers. Everyone has something cool. I myself love different types of music. It’s true that I haven’t listened to doom for quite some time. Not impressive.
With the beginning of a new branch in music, the end of ANKHAGRAM has come?
Ilya : This is just the beginning. The beginning of a new, modern, in-demand ANKHAGRAM. Natural development, evolution.
Well, judging by the new beginning, it was made in the Thoughts album?
Ilya : Well, this album was a transition, so to speak. The end of the past and the beginning of the future. So now Ankhagram is post-rock . Instrumental post-rock. And I, as the author of all this, believe that I made the right choice between the end of the project and its evolution.
What was the obstacle to continuing to play in the style in which ANKHAGRAM began to play? Lack of demand for the genre? low income from CD sales, or another reason?
Ilya : The realization that there is nothing left to say. All music was written and created under the influence of feelings and emotions. But the last thing was said in “thoughts”. Maybe I've grown up, maybe life has changed. But for me personally, that “old me” no longer exists.
those. Is post-rock improvisation for you?, just like for those musicians who play jazz, I’m exaggerating of course, in terms of what was said.
Ilya : no, when I play post-rock, I feel the music. those. I can at least feel something. When I play doom, I don't feel anything. That's probably why I love post-rock, and doom - it's very limited musically. No freedom.
Don’t you regret those years when you played doom? About the fact that doom is limited, I agree 100%, but it is not necessary to play according to a template scenario; in doom you can use various musical instruments, for example, a harp, as used by the group Abysskvlt or Drem. The vocals in ANKHAGRAM are very pleasant, as is the music in general.
Ilya : I don’t regret it at all. I consider that time to be my golden years in creativity. It brought me more than I expected. But it's not just the tools. same vocals. Now I don't want to growl and I don't like it at all. And now, playing the same When The Shadows Die, there are basically no vocals in it.
Did you have any desire to play doom without vocals like the band Luna does? Should we expect a new album in the near future?
Ilya : I definitely have no desire to play doom, not at all. We shouldn’t expect an album yet until we collect our own new material. This is at least a year.
While you were playing doom, did you get offers to play split or together?
Ilya : there were proposals, but not always interesting. Maybe because I only loved my doom.
How were album covers invented?
Ilya : well, I don’t know) I just did what seemed right and “stuck”)
those. Did you do this and not the designers? ))
Ilya : The designer did only one cover - a reissue of Neverending Sorrow. Of course he tried his best there. I did the rest of the covers myself.
I have 2 discs: Where are you now and Thoughts, is this your design?
Ilya : yes, my design. From and to.
It’s funny, it didn’t turn out that bad, showing the disc to friends and acquaintances, everyone had different feelings of association.
Ilya : That’s how it should be. There is no consensus. I did what I liked. Someone will perceive it differently, someone will even say that it’s some kind of shit. This is the norm.
How are things going in the team?
Ilya : We are friends, but not very much. Music unites. And the good news is that the guys finally understood what kind of music I want to hear from Ankhagram.
Of all the Ankhagram albums, which album is the best for you? or maybe several of them. And why?
Ilya : I can only single out two turning-point albums for me. Neverending Sorrow - He determined the existence of Ankhagram . Thoughts - he closed the old and opened the new in Ankhagram.

Beginning of acting and end of military career
Alexey decided to resign back in 2003. However, in connection with his participation in the commercials, the period of his acting activity began. First, Alexey Ogurtsov was invited to film by director O. Stepchenko for a role in the film “Men’s Season.” Then he starred in the film “Call Me Jean,” directed by I. Khotinenko. These roles were his first in cinema.
Alexey Ogurtsov, whose biography has so dramatically changed its direction, is not a professional actor. However, the talent, sincerity and hard work that he possesses more than compensate for this minor drawback. Thanks to his past, he has become one of those actors who are able to fully revive faith in Russian officers with strength and courage. When looking at him, faith appears in wise athletes, in those people who are characterized by a heightened sense of justice. The embodiment of Alexey in the image occurs thanks to internal discipline and self-irony.
Naturally, many people know him from commercials that talk about Nestle chocolate. And the expression “What kind of Vitek am I to you?” along with the penetrating gaze that Alexey possesses, it has practically become winged. He is also remembered by many for his role in “Day Watch”, where he played the role of a security guard.
Movies
After an advertisement with the courageous Ogurtsov-Poddubny appeared on the screens, Alexei’s fate was sealed. The image turned out to be in great demand, and the directors literally bombarded the aspiring artist with offers. He agreed. For the first 3 years, he was trusted with episodes or small roles in “police” TV series, but each subsequent role turned out to be larger than the previous one.
Perhaps, the truly cinematic biography of Alexei Ogurtsov began in 2005, when the action-packed detective film “Men’s Season” was released. Velvet Revolution". The actor got the image of the courageous operative of the anti-drug mafia department Oleg Stepchenko.
Actor Alexey Ogurtsov
As the artist, who has many years of work in law enforcement agencies, admitted, it was not at all difficult for him to play this character, since he did not have to invent anything. He was just playing himself. Upon the release of the detective story, Ogurtsov called it his best project. It is noteworthy that after the image of a defender of law and order, Alexey had to transform into an anti-hero, that is, a bandit. This was required by the role in the project “Hunting for the Red Deer”.
For the next 5 years, the actor portrayed security guards, special forces and bandits on the screen. But everything changed in 2006, when he was offered to play the divisional commander’s adjutant in the film “Officers.” On the set of this project, Alexey Ogurtsov met with real stars of Russian cinema, such as Vasily Lanovoy, Mikhail Efremov, Alexey Makarov and Alexander Baluev. From that time on, the self-taught artist began to be offered main or key roles.
Alexander Tsurkan and Alexey Ogurtsov as a policeman
From 2006 to 2009, viewers enjoyed watching the action-packed series “The Club,” in which Ogurtsov played an FSB agent. During these same years, the artist managed to go beyond one role. He accepted the offer to star in films for children. In the film “Paradox” he played a kind fairy-tale character - reindeer herder Beldyev. In the same 2008, young viewers saw the actor in the image of Boltosaurus in the fairy tale film “Cinderella Four by Four.”
His work in the interesting project “Paragraph 78” was also successful, where Alexey Ogurtsov was lucky to work with such masters of Russian cinema as Ivan Okhlobystin, Gosha Kutsenko and Vladimir Vdovichenkov.
Vladimir Turchinsky and Alexey Ogurtsov in the film “Bitch for the Champion”
But critics highly appreciated the actor’s increased skill after the release of not this, but another action-packed film called “The Wolf Pack.” This film also brings together the color of Russian cinema. But the main thing is that Alexey Ogurtsov managed to convey the depth of his hero’s feelings, the complexity and ambiguity of his character.
Today, critics and audiences call the artist’s best works the films “A Bitch for a Champion,” “St. John’s Wort,” “Marines” and “Real Dad.” But there is no doubt that the best role of this talented actor is yet to come. The name of Alexey Ogurtsov is included in the Guinness Book of Records. During the first 5 years of his work in cinema, he, an officer with no acting training, was able to star in fifty films.
In 2020, Alexey Ogurov was awarded the title of Honored Artist of the Russian Federation.
Family of a wonderful actor
As Alexey says, he met his wife in kindergarten. More than once it was even said that it was he who took her to kindergarten. Thus, they have known each other for more than 35 years. They have been officially married for about 17 years. And what’s interesting is that during this entire period, their longest separation was only two months. This happened during the filming of the film “Call Me Genie.” The fact that he takes his wife Lena with him everywhere has been a source of jokes on numerous occasions. But this is understandable, because she was present with him on almost all of his filming. However, the actor brushes off all jokes with one phrase: “Husband and wife are one Satan. And an officer’s wife is doubly a wife.” As the actor said, without his wife he would hardly have achieved anything.
The son of Alexei Ogurtsov followed in the footsteps of his father. He acts in films and already has 4 leading roles to his credit. They also have a daughter. She also received offers to participate in the filming. However, her parents do not want her to connect her life with cinema.
