Early 2000s

In 2002, the promising television journalist hosted a talk show about the World Cup in Japan and South Korea, and in 2003 he became the host of the documentary “Killing Kennedy.”

Serious career growth occurred in the second half of 2004, when Kirill Alekseevich Kleimenov began working as press secretary to the president and deputy head of the public relations department of the Lukoil company. Already in November, he became deputy general director of Channel One and director of information broadcasting, replacing Sergei Goryachev in this post.

A television

While still studying at the university, Kleimenov began working at the Roks radio station. The episodes were broadcast live, and for him it was a tremendous experience. Soon he decided to try himself on television. In 1994, a young and energetic guy became the editor of the Teleutro program, which was later renamed Good Morning.

Aspiring journalist Kirill Kleimenov

When he first went on the air, he found it difficult to break away from his radio habits. He was either spinning in his chair or fiddling with some object in his hands. In 1997, Kleimenov was offered to host information programs on ORT (later on Channel One) - “News” and “Vremya”. He was the presenter until 2004.

In 2002, Kirill became the TV presenter of the “Big Football” program. The talk show was dedicated to the World Cup, which took place in South Korea and Japan. In 2003, Anton Megredichev’s investigative documentary “Killing Kennedy” was released. Kleimenov acted as the lead of the project.

Ekaterina Andreeva and Kirill Kleimenov

In May 2004, Kirill left Channel One, becoming the president's press secretary. But soon information appeared that Kleimenov had returned to television. True, now he will not host the “Time” program. From now on, Kleimenov headed the Directorate of Information Programs on the channel.

He has repeatedly participated in “direct lines” with President Vladimir Putin. In 2001-2003 he was a telephone call moderator, and in 2013-2015 he became the host of the “line” together with Maria Sittel. He interviewed Dmitry Medvedev twice on the Vremya program. At that time he was the president of Russia.

Kirill Kleimenov, Vladimir Putin and Konstantin Ernst

Since 2020, Kirill Kleimenov has become a shareholder of Channel One OJSC and an active member of the Board of Directors. Kleymenov also starred in a cameo role in “Night Watch” by Timur Bekmambetov.

Kirill is one of the initiators of the launch of charity events on the channel. The “Good Light” campaign started in May 2011. As the TV presenter says, one day stylist Yulia Leshan approached him.

Kirill Kleimenov

She offered to buy cheap white plastic lampshades, paint them ourselves, and organize an auction among the editorial staff. She planned to take all the money raised to the children at the hospital.

Kirill liked this idea, but he suggested that they should be painted not only by TV news presenters, but also by people from other directorates - Andrei Malakhov, Ivan Urgant, Elena Malysheva.

TV presenter Kirill Kleimenov

As a result, the story was filmed and an SMS donation was launched. Those who could not afford a lamp could send a message. In 10 days, the campaign managed to collect 76 million rubles. The money was donated to children's hospitals in Kaluga and Nizhny Novgorod for the treatment of children with cancer.

In 2014, Yulia Leshan died from cancer. And charity events have become an integral part of Channel One’s broadcasts.

From DJs to TV generals

Kirill Alekseevich Kleimenov has repeatedly stated that he honed his communication on air while working on the radio. For almost two decades, he made a career in the media and managed to become a recognizable person. Today Kleimenov is responsible for all information broadcasting of Channel One. He has a very busy schedule, but he manages to find time to participate in the All-Russian TV competition “TEFI Region”.

We invite you to familiarize yourself with the popular perennial juniper Cossack Tamariscifolia

Kleimenov has a very serious, impressive and respectable appearance. He is always well-groomed, smart and correct. But at the beginning of his career he was a DJ! But it is the work on the radio that the journalist thanks for the practical experience. Especially for the excellent on-air communication training. Today, Kleimenov does not appear on camera so often, but he still appears in it from time to time. In particular, when talking with the President of Russia. Officially, the work of a correspondent is already a thing of the past.

In one of the interviews, talking about his return to the frame, he admitted that as soon as he manages to create and test a new studio format and program as a working and understandable system, he “will happily transfer everything into other hands”[36].

For colleagues and family

TV presenter Kirill Kleimenov did not become a media person. He doesn’t like giving interviews and gets irritated by the amount of makeup on the set. Kleimenov prefers inconspicuousness and modesty to the attributes of stardom. In public, Kirill behaves very reservedly, but calls himself an explosive person. Kleimenov repeatedly admitted that he could easily get into a fight.

He is a native Muscovite, and in 2020 he will turn 45 years old. The television journalist is surprisingly stable in all areas of his life - he is successful in his career and in his personal life. He has been married for a long time and has a daughter. Before the wedding, the couple were in a relationship; this is the first marriage for both. After living together for a short time, they decided to legalize the relationship. After a little time, a daughter appeared in the family.

Personal life of Kirill Kleimenov

Kirill is incredibly lucky not only in the professional sphere, but also in his personal life, which he carefully hides from prying eyes.
It is known that the journalist is happy in his second marriage with his colleague Maria, with whom he worked shoulder to shoulder for a long time at Ostankino. At one point, a love spark broke out between them, which very soon turned into a real fire that destroyed their previous relationship.

Kirill Kleimenov and his wife Maria are raising their daughter Sasha

To become a family, Kirill and Masha had to go through a difficult period. Colleagues organized a real persecution of the lovers and spent a long time “washing out the bones” behind their backs. But now all the problems are in the past, the couple are raising their little daughter Sasha and enjoying family happiness.

Kleimenov admits that he does not like to let his loved ones know the intricacies of the work process and is not guided by their opinion about work.

His love story

Maria Kleymenova is the wife of Kirill Kleimenov and his reliable rear. The family is his personal world, where he doesn’t want to let anyone in. According to Kirill, few people can be happy for another person, but he greatly values harmonious relationships and is afraid of losing them. A super successful professional says he lives for his family, not his work. Even on camera, it is sometimes noticeable that Kleimenov is worried. This happens when his child is sick.

Kleimenov calls the story of meeting his wife a tearful Brazilian melodrama. We knew each other for a very long time, worked together, often drank coffee, and then suddenly realized that they couldn’t live without each other. The couple enjoys maximum harmony for a normal family. Kleimenov loves spending time with his family. By the way, he loves to eat and he himself says that he eats not in accordance with his size. He can destroy a cake and a dozen cutlets at one time.

They talk about him

If it weren’t for Kirill Kleimenov, Channel One might now be completely different. This eternally young, active and self-confident person did a lot to ensure that the First remained so both in the location of the button and in the efficiency of presenting information. But Kleimenov himself constantly struggles with his hot-tempered nature and admits that he does not like to make uncomfortable compromises.

Already in 1993, Larisa Verbitskaya noticed to young Kirill that it was impossible to get comfortable on air instantly. It will take time, three years. Then he agreed with his senior colleague, but in his heart he decided that he could do it faster. And now the realization has come that good results cannot be achieved quickly. In the “Time” program, only after four years I was able to feel like a “fish in water.”

As a child, Kleimenov did not dream of a television career. He says that everything happened by chance. However, he quickly took off on TV. For a long time he combined television and radio and was an editor. Looking at his first recordings, he gets embarrassed and says that he feels sorry for the audience.

Kirill Kleimenov: Why don’t journalists fly?

Three bruises, four bumps...

— Kirill, where does the host of a serious program like “Time” find inspiration? Advertising:
— Where, for example, does a person who turns nuts on a car assembly line find inspiration? I just like working with the flow of information. And it doesn’t matter whether I’m tired, in a bad mood or stressed.

Kirill Kleimenov photography

— What is stress on TV most often associated with?

— The most painful ones are conflicts with management or colleagues. The most harmless ones are technological ones. For example, the program header is on, and there are five seconds left before I appear in the frame. And suddenly the director screams in my ear...

Kirill Kleimenov photography

- ...that the first report is not yet ready for broadcast...

-...Ha! First three reports! Main events of the day! And you need to make the right decision in a second, change your mind and let the director know where to start the program. Or another situation. I’m interviewing a famous politician live, and the director again “pleases”: “Kirill, the video will be ready in 20 seconds. Take your time at any cost!” It’s easy to say, because I already said goodbye to the guest. And there are only three lines left to summarize the plot. And millions of TV viewers are watching you!

- And how did you get out?

— Added a few words of my own. The main thing is not to say stupid things and not to moo. It’s also good that we have correspondents flying through the corridors. Literally. Anton Vernitsky recently opened the door to the control room with his head. He rushed from the editing room with the tape and managed to do it at the cost of three bruises and four bumps! I put an end to it, froze... and the plot began.

I haven't fought in seven years!

— What did you dream of as a child? About space? About football?

— I don’t remember about space, but I dreamed about a career as a hockey player. Until my ear was broken in the fifth grade. How? Stopped the attacker's breakthrough. I fell for the puck, my earflaps rolled away, and the opponent hit my head with his stick instead of the puck. I didn’t score a goal, but I broke my cartilage. Even at that time I was seriously involved in swimming. But in the eighth grade I fell off the sports hook.

— Have you heard that your parents tried to instill in you a love of music?

— They wanted to teach me how to play the guitar, but at one point it turned out that the guitar case glides perfectly on the ice slide. Better than any tin basin. While the boys and I were riding, the guitar was “frozen” by the fence. For another three months, my parents naively paid money to the teacher, not knowing that they were sponsoring my downhill racing, and not guitar lessons.

— Did you fight often as a child?

- I don’t like this business. But I had to. Once I ran into a guy who was rowing.

- Did you really get it with the oar?

- Fortunately, no. But even so, it was enough. The fist just whistled, and I flew away, lost in thought. I've hated rowing ever since! I must admit, I beat my opponent decently several times. I studied sambo at Moscow State University. True, I have a problem - I can’t hit him in the face first. I need to get in the “turnip”, then I get fierce. Once I got into a fight with a guy on the subway. The stupidest situation was that they couldn’t divide the door to see who would go through first. Well, they punched each other in the face a couple of times and went their separate ways.

- Looking at you on the screen, so serious, in a suit, it’s hard to believe it!

- I was an impressionable teenager. Now I have learned to suppress my emotions. I haven't fought in seven years. Moreover, I don’t take the subway. Yes, and you need to take care of your face.

Lingonberry carpet for your beloved

— Kirill, your daughter Sasha is six months old. How do you communicate with her?

- Amazing! I'm babysitting, waiting for her to grow up and I can play with her. I don’t know about dolls, but maybe she’ll master a toy railroad...

- There are girls cooler than boys!

- Exactly! I think this is our option!

- You hid your wedding so carefully...

— I don’t like to expose my personal life to people. Not everyone wishes well. My wife was pregnant and I had to protect her from gossip. Masha worked in our team, and a lot of nasty things were said behind our backs.

-Did you take it from someone?

- It turns out like this. She was not married, but lived with a man who considered her his wife.

- Were you free?

- No. But I left the family as soon as feelings flared up between us. I cannot exist in parallel worlds.

- You talk about it so easily...

- No, it was very painful. But this is not an accident. Like, something happened between a man and a woman. Some kind of bed... I'm not looking for such entertainment. It was a very difficult divorce, and I understood that it would not be easy for my ex-wife. For her, the word “breakup” thundered like a bolt from the blue...

— Was it love at first sight with Masha?

- We worked together for a long time... Suddenly, at one moment, the fuse was lit - and it exploded into smithereens! How to calculate it, this formula of love?! If you dig around, you won't understand anything. Moreover, there were no joint business trips, nights in a compartment, or companies dancing under the moon.

— Did you take your fiancée to Paris for dinner?

— No, we went to Paris, but we went to Helsinki. When the pressure on Masha and me from “good advisers” and “guardians of morality” increased incredibly, I wanted to drag her not to the center of civilization, but to the outskirts. Where hares run around the city, and a moderately salty, but not evil sea wind walks through the streets. When you climb a rock, you see spots of lakes around you, and under your feet there is a carpet of lingonberries... And if your beloved woman is next to you, this is absolute happiness!

First of all, a person

Even a super professional should allow himself to at least occasionally turn into an ordinary person. This is what Kirill Kleimenov does. Personal life for him is a relatively closed topic. He tries not to let his colleagues in his world, but he always admits that he is happy in his family.

We invite you to familiarize yourself with large-leaved hydrangea care in autumn, preparation for winter

There are funny moments in the profession. These are the very cases when even the most serious presenter becomes a victim of circumstances. For example, Kirill Kleimenov recalls with fear attacks of hiccups, air with a temperature of about forty, and the incident when he was poisoned by food in the canteen. In the frame you had to look two hundred percent, and he had a greenish tint under the makeup. We had to go on air every half hour for the morning program. And between turns on, the presenter went to the restroom with bouts of nausea.

There are funny “Freudian” slips and more in the footage. It’s very annoying during a serious program to remember a colleague’s slip of the tongue and not be able to hold back a fit of laughter. It is also important to always look presentable on camera, that is, no coughing, sobbing or any other normal human sound. One day, Kleimenov himself caught a fly while inhaling.
