The son of Sergei Suponev committed suicide the day before the concert with the group “Romeo Must Die”

Childhood and youth

The TV presenter was born on January 28, 1963 in the small village of Khotkovo, Moscow Region, into a creative family. Father Evgeny Suponev worked at the Satire Theater, mother Galina Vladimirovna also served as a pianist and accompanist there. The parents did not live together for long: the impulsive Eugene was the opposite of his wife - a pedantic and strict woman whose family included Germans.

Seryozha grew up as an energetic boy, this energy was in full swing all his life. Already at school, Suponev knew that he would work as a journalist on television. In the 4th grade, Sergei advised his father to marry Olga Kraeva, who worked as a commentator at the Mayak radio station. Later, he recalled that the woman not only became a second mother for him, but also finally helped him choose a profession, which predetermined Sergei’s creative biography.

Before entering the Faculty of Journalism at Moscow State University, Sergei worked freelance for Yunost. For the first report, Suponev chose the topic of khanygs who lined up for beer, which they then resold. Then there were several more publications and radio reports - enough baggage to enter the university.

Suponev was born in the Moscow region, in the small village of Khotkovo, into a family of art workers. His parents worked at the Satire Theater - his father was an actor, and his mother played the piano in an orchestra. Later, Sergei’s parents separated, and his father married a commentator for the Mayak radio station, Olga Kraeva, who played a big role in the professional development of Sergei Suponev - it was she who advised him to try his hand at television, which determined his entire future fate.

Sergei dreamed of becoming a journalist as a schoolboy and was already a freelance correspondent for Yunost, and after graduating from school he entered Moscow State University. His studies at the university were interrupted by service in the ranks of the Soviet army, where he was drafted after completing his first year. After serving in the military orchestra of the Mulino military unit in the Gorky region, Sergei returned and continued his studies.

Suponev got a job at the television center even before the army, however, at first he worked as a simple loader, and only after returning from the ranks of the armed forces did his creative biography on television begin. At first he worked as an administrator in the music editorial office and participated in the preparation of holiday programs. For two years Sergei Suponev worked in the propaganda department and only in 1986 he came to the Children's Editorial Office.

The first program for which he began preparing stories was the project “Under 16 and Over,” and a year later he was transferred to the position of junior editor. Sergei Suponev’s first author’s program was released in 1988 and was called “Marathon 15,” which was based on reports from the lives of young people.

Since 1994, Sergei Suponev’s own television company “Class!” began its existence, producing children’s and teenage programs, including “Early in the Morning”, “Good Night, Kids!”, “Smart Men and Smart Girls”, “While Everyone is Home” .

The TV presenter had a special talent for finding a common language with children, and therefore he was excellent at entertaining and educational programs for this audience.

The plot of the program was based on 15 short, topical reports from the life of the younger generation. Suponev’s co-hosts were Georgy Galustyan and Lesya Basheva. Aspiring journalist and film director Sergei Bodrov, Jr., also appeared in the project.

In 1993, Vlad Listyev invited a television journalist to work on the children's program “Starry Hour.” The next year, the man founded his own television, which produced programs for children and youth audiences. Among the projects that the television company was involved in were the programs “Good night, kids!”, “Early in the morning”, “While everyone is at home”, “Smart men and women”.

Television career

Sergey Suponev began working on Russian TV even before the army - in 1980. Having repaid his debt to his homeland, he again got on television. In 1983, Sergei was offered the position of administrator at one of the central channels. His responsibilities included processing programs dedicated to public holidays. From 1984 to 1986, Suponev had the opportunity to work as an administrator in the propaganda department. For the next 2 years, Sergei was preparing stories for the program “Under 16 and Over,” which was popular at that time.

Our today's hero had a chance to try himself as a presenter only in 1988. The program was called “Marathon 15”. Soon Sergei Suponev woke up famous. Various projects began to be offered to him. Vlad Listyev himself noticed and highly appreciated his talent. It was thanks to him that the children's program “Starry Hour” found such a sparkling and objective presenter.

Sergei was not going to stop there. Soon he created a completely new, unparalleled children's program, Call of the Jungle. This idea, which he brought into reality, made Suponev the winner of the TEFI Prize. “Call of the Jungle” is not the only program for children that our hero created. His creative collection includes programs of different genres: “Disney Club”, “King of the Hill”, “The Seventh Sense” and others.

Death

In recent years, according to the recollections of his relatives, Sergei was fond of extreme sports. He tried his hand at diving, drove a yacht, and went hunting. Six months before his death, the TV presenter almost went underwater on his own sailboat, losing control.

TV presenter Sergei Suponev
On that day, only a miracle saved him: having managed to emerge from the water and settle on the bottom of the yacht, Suponev managed to hold out for 4 hours until rescuers discovered him.

Sergei loved motorcycles, snowmobiles, motor boats and crazy speed. On December 8, 2001, Suponev went to his dacha in the Tver region to ride a snowmobile. On the evening of the same day, local residents found the journalist; Suponev showed no signs of life. The investigation had no doubt that the TV presenter’s death was an accident.

Death of Sergei Suponev

The famous TV presenter was involved in sports and loved to ride with the breeze. It was this hobby that played a cruel joke on him. Although more than 10 years have passed since that terrible event, not everyone today knows how Sergei Suponev died.

On December 8, 2001, he went to the Tver region to ride a snowmobile. No signs of trouble. The lifeless body of a famous journalist was discovered late in the evening by local residents. There was no doubt that an accident had occurred. The investigation concluded that Sergei simply lost control. His snowmobile was moving on the ice of a frozen river. The speed was very high. Sergei failed to turn in the right direction. The snowmobile skidded and crashed into a tree at full speed. The journalist's body was found a few meters from the trunk. Most likely, the snowmobile hit the tree with such force that Suponev was simply thrown out of his seat. He received severe injuries incompatible with life. Police officers who arrived at the scene found two dead bodies - Sergei and his young companion.

The news of the death of the popular TV presenter caused a real shock among his fans and colleagues. But it was hardest for Suponev’s relatives. They did not want to accept or realize what had happened. The famous singer and TV presenter Lena Perova, who was Sergei's half-sister, fell into deep depression. For many years, her brother was her support and support, and now he is no longer in the world. The tragedy that occurred could not but affect Suponev’s children. His daughter was not even a year old at that time. But his teenage son Kirill was very upset about the loss of his father. No one could have imagined how this accident would affect the future fate of the boy.

Black marks

Marriage to Olga was Suponev’s second. Of course, they did not have time to really enjoy the happiness that they had both been looking for for a long time. During their three years of marriage, the lovers traveled almost all of Europe, eagerly awaited the birth of their desired daughter, had fun at her christening, making fun of Leonid Yakubovich, who, taking his goddaughter in his arms, was, as expected, described. Of course, there were difficult moments.

Grief: not only relatives and friends gathered at Sergei’s coffin, but also fans of his talent

“After the murder of Vlad Listyev, there were generally difficult times at ORT,” says Sergei Suponev’s half-sister, singer Lena Perova. – There were constantly problems with advertising. In addition, shortly before Seryozha’s death, he probably began a so-called midlife crisis. He was tormented by doubts; it seemed that nothing had been done, although a lot had been done. Sergei could come and say: “Ugh! You can’t imagine what’s going on with me right now!” He said, this one is an asshole, that one is someone else...

Suponev tried to relieve the accumulated stress at work with extreme sports: he rode a scooter at high speed, in the summer he sailed on a yacht along the Volga in terribly windy weather, and in the winter he rode a snowmobile.
“It all started with scuba diving,” shares Sergei’s widow Olga. “He even tried to involve me in this activity.” Then I became interested in hunting. He started doing terrible things! When we still lived in Moscow (later the Suponevs moved to a country house near the town of Korolev near Moscow. - O.E., D.L. ), Sergei every morning, while I was sleeping, opened the window and shot at pigeons. One day I woke up and saw him aiming at a pigeon. I locked myself in the toilet and cried. Seryozha knocked on the door for a long time: “Olya, open it, I will never do this again, never!”

LENA PEROVA: she was inconsolable at her brother’s funeral

According to Olga, her husband constantly said that he was bored without risk. Over the past year, the actress has lived in constant worry about her husband. One day he capsized on a yacht and almost died. Moreover, sensing something was wrong in her heart, Olya tried to call Sergei, but he did not answer the phone because he drowned the phone:

— That day I could not play a role in the play. Tears flowed, I forgot words, I felt that something had happened. Before this, Sergei fell into a sewer hatch at his dacha. In winter, I fell off my motorcycle directly under the wheels of a passing car. Then one day I broke my eye while getting into the car. And a week before his death, he cut his leg and lost half a liter of blood. And all these injuries occurred with such frightening frequency. Death was placing its black marks, but Seryozha stubbornly refused to react to them.

Suponev’s colleague Timur Kizyakov says: “There is probably some sad pattern that this happened to a person with such temperament, activity, and energy. A calm, cowardly person probably wouldn’t get behind the wheel. But I wouldn’t have achieved such success in life...” Unfortunately, this is true. Suponev did not spare himself, did not stop in the face of difficulties and, in pursuit of new sensations, constantly risked his own life. His gambling played a cruel joke on him.

Biographical information

In 1963, on January 28, in the village of Khotkovo (Moscow region), a future TV presenter was born, who was named Seryozha. The boy grew up to be a very active and inquisitive person, and this character trait was characteristic of him throughout his life. Suponev couldn’t imagine himself without extreme sports and speed. In addition, he always communicated easily with his peers.

While still a schoolboy, Sergei knew that in the future he would become a television journalist. His father Evgeny Suponev and mother Galina Vladimirovna worked at the Satire Theater and earned very little, so they did not have enough money for their son’s toys.

Soon the parents divorced. His mother married musician Vyacheslav Perov and gave birth to Sergei’s sister Elena in 1976 (singer and musician, was a member of the Lyceum and Amega groups). And the father, on the advice of his son married radio presenter Olga Kraeva , who was on a warm relationship with Sergei and helped him finally decide on his future profession (when, while in his senior year, he inquired about his stepmother’s earnings, he was satisfied with the amount spoken).

Before entering the Faculty of Journalism at Moscow State University, Suponev was a freelance worker at the Yunost radio station, where the topic of the first radio report was the problem of “hanygs” standing in lines for beer and reselling the latter at inflated prices. After that, several more radio reports and publications were released, which turned out to be quite enough for enrollment in the ranks of students.

Sergei managed to enter the university immediately, but after a year of study he had to join the army. The young man’s place of service was the village of Mulno (Gorky region). There he was assigned to a military band. After being demobilized in 1983, he returned to university, which he eventually successfully graduated with a diploma in journalism.
