“Mitya Sukhoi” from the TV series “Zone” - actor Igor Artashonov has died

Biography of Georgy Gromov

The actor was born in Moscow on March 20, 1983. George's father was a doctor, was fond of martial arts, and read a lot. It was he who instilled in his son a passion for sports.

Having become a master's candidate in swimming and actively involved in martial arts, Georgy dreamed of being like the heroes of the Hollywood blockbusters that he was fond of. The walls in his room were covered with posters of famous foreign action actors: Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jackie Chan and his favorite, Sylvester Stallone.

Georgy Gromov

After graduating from school, Georgy went to Los Angeles to improve his English. There he studied acting for 2 years at the Lee Strasberg Theater and Film Institute, taking the course of Benny Urquidez.

His mentor is a martial arts guru and a legend in the Hollywood action industry. Benny is a well-known fight choreographer. In the 80s and 90s he was Jackie Chan's partner in choreographing fights in films.

Georgy Gromov got into free training thanks to his perseverance, which did not go unnoticed by his mentor. After completing the course, the actor received his first role in Hollywood. Mostly he was invited to play the role of stuntman or understudy.

The reason for returning to Russia was not only nostalgia, but also Georgy’s reluctance to become a Russian emigrant, an actor in oblivion.

The desire to receive a classical education from the Russian cinematic and theater school led him in 2013 to VGIK, the workshop of V. Grammatikov.

“Mitya Sukhoi” from the TV series “Zone” - actor Igor Artashonov has died

“Journalistic Truth” expresses condolences to the friends and relatives of the deceased.

Colleagues Mikhail Gorevoy and Igor Filippov remember the artist

“Igor is no longer with us. Now the artist’s family is raising funds to pay for the funeral,” LifeNews journalists were told at the actor’s house ArtBuro.

Information about the death of Igor Artashonov was also confirmed by the late actor’s agent Natalya Algereeva: “It really happened, a blood clot,” comments Algereeva.

Let us remind you that Artashonov has more than 50 roles in films and TV series. Among them are “Piranha Hunt”, “Turkish March”, “Liquidation”, “Zone”, “Molodezhka” and others.

But the actor’s real fame came from his role as Pakhi in the film “Boomer-2.”

The actor strove for more complete creative self-expression, which was what his serial career became for Igor. For a long time, the actor was involved exclusively in minor supporting roles. Artashonov became noticeable thanks to the crime series “Zone” (where he played prisoner Mitya Sukhoi) and “MUR is MUR” (Ryaboy).

After these films, directors saw in Artashonov a vivid image of a modern criminal, as well as in such films as Dmitry Chirkov’s melodrama “The Banker’s Girlfriend” (2007), Alexander Mokhov’s criminal melodrama “Teacher in Law” (2007), Vasily Mishchenko’s musical comedy “National Treasure” "(2007), crime drama by Sergei Ginzburg "Gangs" (2010).

In 2008, Igor believably and recognizable portrayed investigator Sergei Andreevich Topilsky in the horror film “S.S.D.” directed by Vadim Shmelev.

In 2011, Igor played the role of the famous Soviet military leader, commander of the 62nd Army Vasily Ivanovich Chuikov, in the biographical series by Alexei Pimanov “Zhukov” and the role of Gulya, one of Misha Vinnitsky’s henchmen, in the adventure series by Sergei Ginzburg “The Life and Adventures of Mishka Yaponchik”. In 2013, Artashonov played the role of Major Ivan Stepanovich Filin in the military series “Fighters” by Alexei Muradov. These bright, diverse roles made the actor even more recognizable and revealed the versatility of his acting skills.

Igor Artashonov was married to the young actress Christina Ruban. Their daughter Lada, despite her tender age, shows a strong interest in the acting profession.

The relatives of the deceased turn to colleagues and admirers of the actor for help. A message appeared on Facebook about raising funds for the funeral of the actor “Friends, colleagues! The acting house ARTBURO appeals to everyone who is ready to provide urgent assistance to Igor’s wife, who finds herself in a situation where it is impossible to pay for funeral procedures. We will be grateful for any of your participation, considering it a tribute to your memory of Igor and his difficult fate. Thanks in advance". Earlier, a publication appeared on the same social network about raising funds for the treatment of the actor: “The wonderful actor Igor Gennadyevich Artashonov really has a problem with his health and he is in dire need of help, but nothing to do with what the so-called “doctors” from the 2nd Lyubertsy hospital, no! Artashonov spent several days in intensive care in a coma and now it is vital for him to undergo a course of therapy and rehabilitation. At the moment, the issue of transferring Igor to another clinic with treatment on a paid basis is being decided, but there are simply not enough funds. Anyone who would like to provide feasible, and most importantly prompt, assistance, please send it to Sberbank card No. 4276 0800 1133 7871. The owner of the card is Ruban Alexander Alexandrovich (the brother of Artashonov’s wife). I would like to add that any amount will be very important and necessary! If you have any questions regarding assistance, feel free to call at any time, or write to [email protected] I will definitely answer everyone.”

Unfortunately, it was not possible to save the actor. We contacted the actor’s colleagues in theater and cinema: director and film actor Mikhail Gorev and actor Igor Filippov.

— Mikhail Vitalievich, in 2001, Igor Artashonov moved to the theater under your leadership, “Theatrical Events Factory,” where he worked for five years. During these years, Igor was busy in two performances - “The Trait” (Fleming) and “People and the Mouse” (Negro). What can you tell us about him as an actor and a person?

- What to say? Igor was a very talented and strong actor. He was in his place and was a rather courageous and uncompromising person... The trouble is that he is addicted to alcohol. This, it seems to me, ruined him. It's sad, but what can you do? Actors often sin in this matter... However, with all this, Igor was such a “fist man.” He may have been small in stature, but at the same time he had a big and bright personality. First of all, I appreciate talent in people, which comes from the Lord God and from mom and dad. It was easy to work with Igor, despite the fact that sometimes he was categorical. But at the same time, he always had a positive attitude towards humor - even if they laughed at him.

Actor Igor Filippov, who played operative Raevsky with Artashonov in the series “Zone,” agrees with Mikhail Gorev that his late colleague was a talented actor.

“Igor was very careful about his work. As for the problem, what can I say? When a creative person lacks something, he tries to find a way out of it. But I didn’t see anything like that on the set. Yes, on the series “Zone” we communicated closely, and then somehow rarely crossed paths.

In 2002, Igor Artashonov starred in Ivan Dykhovichny’s film “Kopeyka” in the role of Vladimir Semenovich Vysotsky.

— Mikhail Vitalievich, do you think the deaths of Vysotsky and Artashonov are similar?

- Of course, there is a similar consonance... Both are actors, both are such passionate people who burn themselves out... Such lawless people, in the good sense of the word... However, both had to be careful.

— Do you think Igor Gennadievich managed to realize himself in cinema?

— He’s been filming quite a lot lately, but it seems to me that he never played his main role. At least the roles that I saw were of high quality. You could always count on him. This is such a strong piece on the chessboard. However, I believe that he did not have such a title role that would stick tightly with him...

— What do you think about the role of such a “person with a criminal past” or “criminal element”? After all, in the same series “Zone” he played a very convincing criminal Mitya Sukhoi...

- This is acting talent - the ability to construct an image. Igor was not in prison, I can assure you. This is what an actor's scale consists of - to manage in a short time to create a person in whom the audience will believe and empathize. Igor had such a gift, which is why you see before you a convincing hero - a villain, a ghoul. He did such roles well. You couldn’t call him handsome, he wasn’t a Don Juan, but, as they say in his “Zone,” he was a strong guy. It's a shame it burned out so quickly, but to be honest, it could have been foreseen.

Igor Filippov agrees with Mikhail Gorev - Igor Artashnonov, as a profound artist, masterfully transformed himself into the image of a criminal, while having nothing close to the criminal environment.

“I think it’s just life experience.” What is creativity? This is a creation from the heart. But it doesn’t always go away painlessly. Therefore, alcohol has a place in life... But I don’t think that this habit was somehow prohibitive. Rather, it sometimes took place, but nothing more. And this is not from something good, but from pain. I think so.

— How do you think it happened that the actor was quite actively filming, he has a rich filmography, but now his relatives are collecting money for the funeral?

Igor Filippov: “Well, this has been our practice since time immemorial. Just like in the Soviet Union. Remember the same actor Filippov, who died alone. I don’t want to judge anyone, but when a person abuses, he is left alone. Therefore, alcohol is evil. Well, they collect money, yes. Unfortunately, there is nowhere to go.”

Mikhail Gorevoy: “Despite the fact that he was actively filming, you see, we do not have the same royalty system (interest payments for film rentals) as in Hollywood or England. That’s why such famous artists as Vitsin, Brondukov, Kononov die in poverty and oblivion... I think this is very unfair. Not only in our workshop - in many areas. That's why money is collected. If Igor had accumulated anything, it was not much. And given inflation, it could have completely burned out.”

-Are you going to ask him?

Igor Filippov: “Of course... I’ll definitely go”...

Mikhail Gorevoy: “You know, it is much more important for me that Igor will remain inside me, with our contradictions, joys and sorrows. And he will live in my memory in the form of a living person.”

“There was a terrible period in my life when Tarkovsky was fooling me with the film “Andrei Rublev.” I fooled my head for two years that I would play Rublev. Some people made preparations with it, made samples. And then his case began to drag on,” says Stanislav Andreevich.

Lifestyle of an actor

To keep himself in shape, given the busy filming schedules, Georgy Gromov developed for himself a certain daily routine and lifestyle in general.

During the period when there is no filming, he allows himself to sleep as much as he wants. During the period when there is filming, he may not sleep at all, moving from project to project.

Understanding that in the genre in which he works, his athletic form and endurance are very important, the actor devotes a large amount of time to sports. Every day running, stretching, 2-3 hours of exercise in the gym. Particular attention is paid to the arms and shoulder girdle, because this is important in the frame.
